So as stated in the title, I can't adjust the in call volume when using the my Jabra BT160 headset. Regardless of how low or high I set the in call volume on the phone, the speaker volume on the headset doesn't increase.
the volume on the headset is all the way up and when I connect it to my motorola w490, i can adjust the volume just fine so the headset is not the problem for sure.
btw im running Open Touch 2.7
I've searched nearly every thread on the forum and tried every possible solution and go nowhere.
Any help?
so I found one last post that I decided to try out and it worked!

I found something that seems to improve the quality somewhat but I need others to verify because after playing with some many options I can not longer tell what is good and what is bad
Add the following key, by default it will NOT be there:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\SpkVolume
DWORD:10
You do not need to reset the phone what you need to do is unpair your BT device and then pair it again for the settings to take.
Please try and post results.
Thanks.....

I had this key in the registry already, and it was set to 15. I increased it to 50, and the volume is comfortable for me at this level. This resolved the volume issue.
However, the metallic-like sound is still present, as is the crackle and pop. I guess that is a BT stack issue that will be resolved with an update. I'll keep my fingers crossed for that to happen

OMG!! THANK YOU BOTH
This worked on my WING device with Open Touch 2.7 rom
I dont know what the rest of you guys are doing wrong but this worked for me. The d word value Spk Volume [notice the space between spk and volume] was already in my Audiogateway directory set to default 10. I changed that to 50 as suggested by Vasquja . I soft reset and then repaired with my headset and VIOLA!
Problem solved.
Hi, this solution doesn't work on my energy rom.
Have you some other ideas for me?
thanks

Hi,
I have a Tytn II and I the volume when using it with my bluetooth headphones is very quiet.
I have tried to apply the following hacks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=269638
When I use TCPMP and increase the Preamp, it does get louder but the sound is distorted.
Any help will be appreciated.
I suppose you did already put the volume of your telephone to a max?
My Bluetooth stereo (Jabra BT 620s) works flawlessly (and LOUD!)

AND one thing you have to remember, in the last (that I saw but may have changed since then) IEEE directive for BT audio, all devices have to start at a specific dB audio level for humanic safety. That is once connected, you have to turn the volume up on the device!! Should be in it's manual. Oh and it will revert to that default level on each connect. Anything else is against (the last but not the final!!) IEEE directive.
Man, do I feel stupid. This did the job guys. I turned the phone volume up. I thought by turnig the wheel on the phone that this did that, but I used my stylus to turn it up from the speaker icon and it worked!

Excellent pal... Join the "I have learned' clan.. we have all been there at one time or other.
Recently got a touch diamond and I love the device save for one issue.
I've synced music to the phone and it seems to be going over fine. I just have NO BASS in any song. I tried the original headphones and thought those were just crappy so i went out bought a USB to 3.5 adapter and tried it with bose/technics/shure headphones and still nothing!!
I've looked at the audio enhancer tool on the phone and nothing in there makes a difference. Wondering if anyone else has been having this problem or even knows of a solution to it.
Thanks
-Jaspreet
I've had this identical problem.
It worked fine for the first day of use, then I charged overnight, added some more music in the morning, and that was it - no bass.
This is serious because I want to use it as my main music player. If I can't get it sorted it's going to have to go back.
Mine got the same problem as well....
I've found using A2DP, even with the same headphone could get some improvement. But the sound is still far from GOOD.
Still remember few years ago there could be tweaks to enhance the DSP thread efficiency...or priority....can't remember now....any expert could give us some hints??
The solution in my case:
Connect the headset - Turn Off the "Audio Booster" (or if it's off right now, turn on and OFF) - Press "Done"(!!!) - Disconnect the headset - Reconnect again - Start the Music Player - You have BASS. If you'd like to use the audio booster you can already turn on that.
It's a little bit weird, but maybe a ROM update solve it.

This solution with this order of events has worked for me. Thanks!
JointStereo: set to "0" in registry.

Tried vax6's solution....also works for me...thanks vax6
Notes to other users: make sure you press DONE not x or <- to turn off AudioBooster.....I know...vax6 said that, I just didn't pay attention
guys, thank you really very much, i was getting crazy with this problem
solved with xax6 solution
Strange, but it works.....plug in, done, plug out! Thanks for the solution!!
Hi guys! Need a solution or a direction to further dig the problem.
The issue: Navigon directions are barely heard on my car stereo via bluetooth. Music sound volume over bluetooth is ok, call volume too. There are separate volume adjustments within the app's Iphone version (system and Navigon) that are not present in Android.
Device: HTC One Dev Ed, stock 4.2.1 rom
Thanks!

Or maybe if TS gets to read this, did you solve it?

Nope. The problem is within android Bluetooth, there are rumors that it is going to be solved in key lime.

I did find that while voice is speaking (press the icon in the bottom left to make it speak) you can press the volume up. The internal app volume will then increase.

Thank you. Well, I think I've tried everything, including your tip, in vain. For now I am not using Navigon.
I am wondering if anyone can exploit a glitch in the bluetooth audio volume on the xperia T
As most of you will no doubt be aware the bluetooth volume is rediculously low on the xperia T, i believe its low on most android phones?
However I have found that with all of volumes at max, If I go to setting, sound, volumes then set the ringer volume to max the volume to the bluetooth headphone literally doubles
Is this something that can be exploited by someone who is in the know?
I am desperate to get more volume from my phone via bluetooth as my headphones are very quiet in comparison to my old nokia n8, but more importantly music is rediculously low when connecting my phone to my car via bluetooth, its such a shame as both worked so well with my old nokia I would love to find a way around this problem.
Thank You

Try installing xposed framework and finding the mod that allows the advanced volume control. It seperates all the volume streams so blutooth volume is not linked to other volumes.
Search for it in google or the themes and app section

When connected via bluetooth I get the bluetooth volume adjuster on my phone when I use the buttons, however this is already at max, with all volumes at max it is still very low, however just pressing the ringtone volume, even without adjusting it as it is already at max, it plays my ringtone for a second thn suddenly I have twice the volume, despite all volumes including bluetoth were already at max, suddenly I have plenty of volume?

This app does a nice job of setting media volume to max and works superb, however it hasn't solved the issue, even with all volumes set to max the Bluetooth volume is still very low, however just touching the notification or alarm volume slider and letting it beep, then doubles the output.
I have just flashed .145 Rom and kernel hoping it would fix the issue, but it still persists. Does it not do the same for everyone else?
I.e start walkman with Bluetooth headphones or car connected, start playing music, then go to settings, sounds, volumes and adjust the alarm volume, then the volume has Bluetooth output volume has suddenly doubled?
It didn't do it on custom Roms for me just sock ones, custom ones stayed quiet no matter what
"just touching the notification or alarm volume slider and letting it beep, then doubles the output."
THANK YOU! Fast little work around to get true max volume on my Xperia T. Can't believe Sony hasn't gotten this sorted after many updates. I can finally use my Jambox again haha!
The low bluetooth volume is a known issue on JB FW's for Xperia T. (read somewhere its related to actual JB rather than Sony only).
My fix for it is..connect BT headphone.. take a quick call.. just dial something for even a second n end...n volume increases on BT..
Hi people,
So i got my new Realme x2 Pro yesterday. Overall i'm really happy with the phone. Today when commuting, i used the bluetooth earphones (sony wf1000-xm3) and... Surprise! the maximum volume is a third of what it was the they before yesterday with my htc u11.
I'm pretty sure it's an option of the OS that is screwing me up, but cannot find the fix. Someone has a similar problem to mine and a way to solve it?
i tried:
- disable the dobly atmos options in sound settings.
- on developer options: disable the absolute volume.
non of them worked.
Oh, forgot to say: I'm on the European version of the OS

I have the same setup and don't have issue with max sound .... have you tried putting the volume up via the headphones directly (touch gesture slide up on the right cup) ?

Hi Jake, It's The WF model, not WH (have them too). The WF does not have volume control (because there is no space to swipe)
but once i arrive home, i'll try what happens with the WH.

So, I'm trying now with the WH-1000xm3 and it's the same problem as the WF.
The maximum volume i'm getting is as best a third of what i had with the HTC U11.
There is something very wrong here.
So, at the end really was a problem with the headset.
no problem with the phone bluetooth.
please close the thread
Hi
I have experienced the same problem with a set of Bose earphones and a bluetooth speaker. The volume is significantly less than when these devices are used with any other mobile phone.
It is categorically an issue with the OS (unless I am missing something flagrant, or worse yet it is a hardware issue). Grateful for anyone's advice.

verify within the app of bose the volume of the headset (if you have the option there)

Thanks I will look into it, but these are fairly simple bluetooth earphones, not aware of any app optionality.
I note the December ColorOS updates included a bug fix for "low sound when connected to AirPods2 headset".
Would imply this is a wider issue.
I came across the same problem with the WF-1000XM3. I managed to fix it by changing one of the touch functions of the earphones to volume control. Then I just adjusted the volume on the earphones to the max and now I have full volume.
