I would say what WM 6.1 rom cookes is better. Thanks
better? than what? what do you mean? compared to other cooks, 6.1 roms (if so which?), or other 6.0 Roms? what are u talking about?
What exactly was the point of this thread? Just a waste of disk space
What we have here is a failure to communicate....
I believe the gent is asking for us to suggest what rom he should use.
@~FullSyst3m~: The matter is up to you. Go read & find what ROM suits YOUR needs best. No one here has any idea your level of proficiency or to what end you use your device.
If you are not familiar with the WM6.1 ROMS or flashing or fixing the F'ups flashing can cause just using one of the 6.0 RTM ROMs, then I would urge you to just wait. All of the available ROMS that are 6.1 take some degree of tweaking & hacking to get them running correctly. At least for me, but I am dependent on several apps that I must run & don't work well with 6.1. It took me 4 hours to get them all running again & involved hacking the registry.
Unless have some experience with these things or just don't care what runs & what doesn't & are prepared to hack your way through the issues, I'd wait.
If you can't wait then you can think about Sleuth maybe. Understand though, most of the 6.1 ROMS available are WWE or Chinesse. I don't know your primary language or provider because your profile is completely lacking.
I would be only an advice regard 6.1 rom
try the new Sleuth rom
Very thanks

Hey all,
First please let me say I am not looking for anyone to tell me what is the BEST cooked rom out there. I know each one has specific plusses and minuses that are suited to particular purposes.
Also, I have looked through this forum. I have read most of the WIKI, and spent an hour reading through various posts. However, I haven't found a concise discussion of this as many people are focusing on cooked ROMs.
I am getting a Tilt and from my reading so far I am pretty sure I want to reflash it with an HTC Rom. I want the TouchFlo and some of the other stuff that the HTC offers. I have some general questions though:
1) Is there a downside to putting HTC Rom on a Tilt? I know there are some little issues that have solutions (like keyboard remap) but will I experience any instability or call/data quality issues running HTC over ATT ROM?
2) Relating to #1...can/should I just keep the ATT ROM and can I then add everything from the HTC ROM (from cabs?). I don't know which solution yields the best stability.
3) Is there a reason why I would go with a 6.0 ROM instead of 6.1 ROM? I would like to believe that the 6.1 is the newer, better stuff...but maybe not?
4) What is the latest 6.1 official ROM? Is it RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.11_Ship?
5) When it comes to "official" shipped ROMs and Radio firmware from ATT and HTC, is there any good reason not to use the latest versions? That is are any of the new versions a step backwards in terms of stability/performance?
I do not want to use any cooked firmware (at least initially). I would like to start with a vanilla shipped firmware and then add/remove things myself. If this comes down to me cooking my own ROM so be it, but I would like to start with the basic.
My goal is to have a ROM that will be fast and stable, with as few lock-ups or resets as possible.
Thanks for your assistance.
1)i dont believe so it depends on the radio i believe
2)i think u should flash cuz it'll remove all the atnt junk..bloatware n such
3)it all depends on personal pref...i did cuz i wanted the threaded sms function
4)i dont know.sorry
5)i think they're all pretty much the same..just gotta test the differnt versions to find out
most of the cooked roms i tried arent as bad...not many lockups or resets
i'm still a noob at flashing tho so still trying things out

Or you could just go to the phone manufacturers website and download the applicable file there and follow their (comprehensive) instructions. If you want to keep things all official, it's actually a very straightforward process. You only need to bother with hardSPL etc if you want to flash a custom ROM. A very important question you should ask yourself is why do I want WM 6.1. If you're thinking it's newer so it must be more reliable/better/faster etc etc check out the threads in Kaiser General relating to all the problems after upgrading - at least with regards to most of the official HTC ROM offerings (certainly the current UK one is included). I tried WM 6.1 for a while and had such significant problems, I had it reverted back to 6.0.
MMMMMM
To me WM 6.1 appearance is more sexier than the WM 6.0. Thats why am looking to upgrade my device in to WM 6.1
Flying Kiwi has a point about doing it officially - I'd forgotten that there was an official 6.1 rom. That said, for me custom roms are much more fun!
I've had both 6.0 and 6.1 on my phones and to be honest, I can't tell the difference.

What are you doing with your phone ......
Having tried both, there's very little difference between the two as far as the TyTN II native ROMs are concerned. It's only the customised ROMs that offer a flashier flash (but you can also get alot of that stuff through installing cabs - full details in the wiki and by searching/reading up on the xda-dev website).
Original posted edited, irrelevant,
i saw a few post for the 1.56, and i visited the official site and found that there was really a 1.56 hardware upgrade.
did anyone install it and feel it?
can tell the difference?
as the title~~ some screen shot will be great
have a nice one
No difference)))just numbers)))
WiFi conectivity improveents?
For those of us that have intermittent WiFi connectivity issues; has anyone noticed any improvements connecting to hotspots after installing the new ROM?

Not my credits, it was posted earlier by another user. But it's not all about the numbers. Drivers, xip, os as well as packages changed.
I told you)))just different numbers))))

Well, take a look at nk.exe and the other parts in the xip. Run a diff with an hexeditor. Change in offsets. Also the os changed. Run a diff on 1.19 and 1.56. Also the drivers changed. So I guess it's not only the numbers. But show me if I am wrong
OK)))XIP,SYS and OEM all cookers always change it doesn't matter which version is it)))
Only few different drivers...You cannot use it without new SPL or you have to flash through USPL...But again)))numbers)))(size is a numbers, versions are numbers too))))
im still arguing if i should flash to new ROM 1.56. onkolog said no diff. just number changed. and i read the rom_diff, it showed many new version in ROM. so im gonna test the new ROM 1.56 (miri's v7.2 standard without manila) and will report the feel IMO. i hope this new ROM is better
Why)))you not understand one thing)))All cookers change OEM,SYS and XIP to newest always)))In ROM 1.56 old OEM,SYS and XIP...They don't use it...That why no difference between these ROMs...
Miri use OEM,SYS and XIP from Topaz and Rhodium and me too...and where is new ROM 1.56)))it's gone)))
Or if you change few files to newest it means you have new ROM?)))I don't think so...
The original poster was comparing stock roms

Sorry I don't understand. I use the xip's OEMXIPKernel part from 1.56, some new drivers and packages from the 1.56 rom. Indeed not sure if hTC fixed some issues in these components but we will find out. Enlighten me
That what I told...You and other cookers just use few new things from new ROM 1.56, but users think you use all ROM 1.56...They don't understand you correctly...That why I told no difference...only numbers)))
GPS
GPS is indeed faster to find a fix, but something odd I have noticed is that TomTom 7 doesn't say I am connected to any satellites, yet it has found my location and works perfectly fine otherwise...
Opera (Internet Browser)
With the old ROM, opera would always be slow to load up and after quitting the application the phone would screw up somehow, either it becomming sluggish or crashing or getting a 'dont send' error. In this new ROM, it is much faster to load up and quit, however, it is still kind of buggy for me and sometimes crashes. Its still not stable (in my opinion).
Battery Life
Regarding battery life, I haven't seen much of a difference. If anything I would have to say this ROM has got a bit better battery life but nothing much, its negliable.
In General
The new ROM in general is slightly faster, but only by a small amount. Some people wouldn't probably even notice this speed difference because it is so small.
Worth Upgrading?
Depends. If you use GPS a lot then this could be for you. But soon people will probably start cooking with this as the base ROM so you will get these features and more anyway. Also it can be risky upgrading to this ROM, with it being HardSPL incompatible and having its own SPL embedded. If you have the time and patience, then theres no reason why not to upgrade.

Cool, thanks for telling that.
for my experience, TTom works well in my 1.19, so.....
i think i should let my device stay the same way she did
just numbers... well your right evan data is just numbers 1010111001001 but they can they can make a differance. 1.56 has updated os ect which a good **** can easaly better but theees also the updated spl with some firmware w for the new drivers ect now the divers and spl arnt gona b bettered by a cook only incorpirated only a proramer, developer, someone who knows the languages ect could mess with thouse. im hoping olinex will hack the new spl for us soon which whould make it esy to flash 1.56 coocked roms.
as i said new drivers and firmware which includes new drivers and firmware for the graphics. im hoping htc have given us heardware acceleration but time will tell. a better base to start from will always give you a better reault and sone of the guys here work wonders so lets hope and see what happens.
and im totally helpless, there's so much to install and things you can do with this mobile. i ordered a used one, wich already got flashed with another rom and stuff. is this bad? can i recover the original files? is it a good choice to do so, if its possible?
whats the "best" and by that i mean the best working firmware for this mobile?
or the most up to date?
why sould i use the android system if i could use the htc one?
pros/cons?
i have absolutly no idea whats good and whats not.
are there any comparsions online, any newbie threads to read?
there are so many tweaks and roms and fixxed and all the stuff i have no odea what its for.
can anyone help me?
Well, you cant go wrong with the official Sony Ericsson rom which came with the phone R3A is the latest one. But if you want Windows Mobile 6.5 then flash a custom rom, there are many to choose from in the custom rom section. I cant comment on android on the device because i havent tried it but i'm sure there are a few issues and bugs.
Personally i tried many custom roms but all of them had mini problems which made them bad so the one that worked best for me was the stock one which you can find in the rom section also
I would flash the May 6 ROM from Williyung as a good starting point. It's a completely stable and bug-less 6.5.5 ROM, about as updates as you can get.
826x.blogspot.com
Scroll down to the May 6 ROM
thank you both for the very useful answers.
i think ill wait until i can see the official one,
and after that ill choose if i stay with the regular one or the Williyung version.

What you're going to want to do if you want a STABLE device (free of eye candy) is make sure and stay with a 6.1 rom (official or otherwise).
6.5 has no real advantages that SPB Mobile Shell cant add while keeping your device stable.
(that being said I'm currently running an Energy Rom with 6.5)
826x clean 6.5.5 ROMs by Williyung are 100% stable. I have NEVER had to reset. There are bugless.

There's no Stock WM6.5 for Touch HD. WM6.5 ROM in this xda is non official ROM. if you want stock ROM, please install WM6.1 for HD. it is official released by HTC
That is sad. But then if I have to install a custom 6.5 rom, wont that make my device unstable? Would it make it slower than now? Custom roms arent stable enough is what I know.

it's not a stability problem!
even WM 6.1 custom non official ROMs are stabler and speeder than WM 6.5 ones...
it's a kernel problem!!
The one used in WM 6.5 custom ROMs is unofficial...and not made by HTC...and that's what made WM 6.5 a little bit slower than WM 6.1...
but (expecially COM2 builds) are stable as well as WM 6.1...just slower (not dued to cooker inexperience but) because HTC didn't develop a 6.5 kernel for our blackstone...
Thanks Kenia for this wonderful rom uv made. I am going through your forum pages currently reading about your rom. It really is awesome work!
By the way, is there a way to install titanium screen and WM 6.5 lock screen on top of stock 6.1 rom?
nope, for titanium and the new lockscreen you will have to install WM 6.5.
There might be some WM 6.5 lockscreen look-a-likes for WM 6.1, but as far as i know it's not possible to have titanium on wm 6.1. Technically it is possible, but a lot of things would have to be modded (which is a looooooot of work) in order to get it to work on WM 6.1

Titanium requires some stuff from system core of WM 6.5...just like the honeycomb start menu...
so it's impossible to port it...
as regards the lockscreen you can have it through the marvelous Co0kie's Home Tab which ebodies this feature...
and you can choose between WM 6.5, HD Mini and iphone-like lockscreen...
Anyway thanks to all for the compliments..

I got the perfect thing for you
You should try Miniterrors Ravage ROM it's in dutch or in WWE.
It is the fastest STOCK 6.5 rom out here on XDA.
You should download the WWE Clean without (or with) HTC Messaging.
It's fast, low battery drainage and it is stock!
Hope it helps!
Here's the thread:

WOW!
This looks terrific! But is this rom going to work stable and fast on the HD? Can someone help me more with this please?

please flash first n let us know the feedback. you cannot ask anybody to act on behalf of you. different person, different opinion. try Cloudy 1.9 with or without HTC Messaging... it works perfect for me.
I never presumed anyone to act on my behalf. Because I am only asking for opinions from experts who have run it before on their Blackstones. I have never flashed a custom rom hence probably just a little apprehensive.

There are a lots of roms here, the best way to find what you want its to try, use another phone and take a week to try the diferent roms around here.
If we all like the same, we didn't have a lot of roms around here, see what roms have good feedback, see if you like the style or the coocked app in it and flash.
A stable coocked rom its allways better then stock.
