Hi everybody,
Though i am new one here but i always try mybest to search well before posting any thread. And after spending a month or so on this forum i like to float an idea ( although i am not sure if somebody else propose that aswell and if so then please accept my applogies ) anyway here is the idea...
> It would be great help for members ( specially new ones ) if the first post ( a downloadable file ) include all the submitted post titles or post subject of that forum and its updated automatically. In that way everybody download the file and read/search the file for his/her specific problem.
Becuase most of the time problems already addressed on the forum but because of the simple variation in search words; a member assume that he is facing a unique problem.
> Secondly; i'll appreciate if somebody guide me that how can i increase the viewing posts per page e.g. from 20 to 100 may be or diaplay all the posts from a specific date ? e.g today...
Thanks ( and sorry again if these ideas already posted by someone else )
Just use the sites google search facility for the first idea and secondly USER CP, EDIT OPTIONS, Thread display options.

how to change this text?
How do I change the title of a thread that has already been in progress?
Never mind. Changing first post title doesn't seem to work...
I think edit has been opening already in advanced mode for me. If I use a second tab and edit a second thread the advanced button becomes visible and when pressed takes me to what I normally see.
Doing that changes the text when veiwed from within the thread, but from the forum it is not changed. Above i added the <test> but it dose not show up in the forum. Dose it take some time to take effect?
You're right. I was so sure this would work I posted without testing. Sorry.
Just tried it on one of my old threads and it doesn't update.
Strange...
Hum, I can't even do it and I have mod satus, I will post this in the mod section and see if an admin can point us in the correct area.
Hi Guys,
Admins and mods can change this by going to thread tools -> edit thread.
I changed some settings which should enable the thread starter to also change this.
OdeeanRDeathshead: can you test whether you can now change this?
Thanks in advance,
Flar
This is my Title and I can change it if I want to.
Now I see it,
Over edit and advanced you can change the title of the message but not the thread. Over Thread tools the thread.
But can the starter of a thread change his own title (I am not sure if he has thread tools, I would think not).
We wait to find out
Any place I can get the thread tolls to drop down, they do not contain the edit thread option. I still would like to be able to do this.
solution:
Hi Guys,
figured it out:
We wanted to give the user who started the thread unlimited time to change the thread title, therefore we changed some settings to a "default" unlimited setting. We've found out that this is not yet an enabled feature by the software developers.
In short: we must set a time limit within which the user who started the thread is allowed to change the title.
We've set this time limit to a week, within a week after starting the thread the user who started the thread can change the title.
This can be done simply by editing the post title, thread tools are only available to moderators and admins. (this is not how I thought this up, it's simply how the software works)
Hope this helps.
Greetz,
Flar
Thank you for your effort Flar. I think a week is too small. For example, I wanted to change the thread title on my GSMbeam thread to show that there was a security update. With ongoing stuff like that it takes weeks-months between the first post and the ongoing refinements. Why not just let the author have a very long period, a year would be good, to alter the thread title. I can understand that you may be concerned that people may totaly alter their titles after a while to get fresh interest in old threads but my motivations are valid. I leave it in your hands but if you can't give more time then perhaps a moderator could change the text to what I edited my first post in that thread to be.
I feel the poster should be able to edit his subject with no time llimit.
Lets take software, user x post appl y ver sion 1.0, then upgrades his first post with ver 2.0. He should change his own tiltle.
Sure mods could do it, admins as well, but do we want to ??
I agree as well. And I think its not just for those who post software (though as one of them I would like the option). Many 'fresh users' (my polite way of saying n00bs) start off with titles like "Pleeeeeees help me" or "Urgent!". I don't need to point out the problems with such titles and why they often prevent the poster from receiving an answer.
Often though they receive an advice and should be able to follow it and change the title to something more useful without having to bother the mods who I am sure are busy as it is.
If the software won't allow permanent permission to change the title it should be set to the longest period allowed (hope its more that a week).
I need to set a limit so i'm really sorry I can't put this on unlimited.
As soon as this option comes available I'll change this.
Untill that time I've set the maximum to a year.
Greetz,
Flar
thanks it worked now
here is a new version of Esmertec Jbed (java manager) 20080428.2.1
1- unzip it
2- install the cab
Besides that a little bit description should help ?
@Aqrab
Thanks for that update it worked a treat for me. I managed to fry my Java client somehow and removed it trying to get Sky Mobile working so this is appreciated as I wasn't entirely sure what I should be looking for.
@aragornol
Are you saying that you know what this is and think a bit more information is required for other readers or that you don't know what it does? If the former, how about you add to the conversation? This has been the third post from you I've read today that has been overtly aggressive and is off-putting to people like me who are new around here.
This version has timezone issue (not important for most of the users). It returns current time with GMT timezone instead of current locale.
I am back to 20080328.3.1 for now.
@ericsson68 don`t want to be offtopic ... but to explain ... it is written in rules that DO search before POSTING ... this is rule which I prefer above all ... I read threads about 5 - 8 hours a day and I`m sure I`m not speaking just for myself that it annoys me very much to see 20 threads or so just about crap that was answered sometimes few times but mostly more than that. I`m not the moderator of this forum but I am surprised that they allow that. I am moderator at few forums myself and I would ban the users that do this. I am not an teen which is full of hatred or discriminates other but to be honest it really annoys me when somebody is able to register and post crap while he can search and find answer quicker. I don`t take this bull**** that someone is in hurry and don`t have time to read. Searching take less then registering and posting a question. Besides that in few generations we will have tons of dumb people who can just ask and aks and ask for things that has been answered ... do you get it ? I simply dislike mess in forums, this makes searching HARD for people that REALLY SEARCH.
according to this program no i don`t know what this does and I bet you are shaking to shoot me down with answer to search it myself. yes i can but that`s another story. When I post something it would be polite to attach description to save everybody`s time.
all i want to do is to have clean forum to make either searching or reading easier. but that without help of others - that will simply ignore such - excuse me - noobs or advise them to search is impossible. And at last but not least this is XDA - Developers. Developers in my opinion (as I am one of them) search first and then when they don`t find and answer then and only then ask ... Maybe I can look like aggressive and arogant in your eyes but hey this doesn`t bother me. As far as I know I cam here and read before asking stupid questions I can say I am "clear" and I didn`t bother anybody`s time with even reading my stupid posts or answering my stupid questions ...
and it`s time to stop this cause i`m heavy offtopic. Just take this as my manifest for the future ... I won`t even say a word to this so you can save your time by replying ...
guys dont fight
aragornol if you dont know what this
its a java manager its will replace your old java manager with this new one
with the new one you can run more java apps or game that not work in the old version
Does it allow you to force a resolution for an application? I have the same problem, mentioned in this thread, IE games appear as a rectangle in the top-left corner of the screen.
Furthermore: does this app run the majority of the java which is supported by the built in javamanager?
Another thought: will this in some sort effect my existing built-in (TAO) java virtual machine ? (Kilobyte virtual machine as it is, more about this).
Hey, I thought that it is a bit anoying to look always for the Forums or check some Software or open two or tree times the same thread by people who don't use search or what else....
So I decided to make with your help a thread with links to the useful Software in this Forum especialy for Diamond (and some Pocket PC apps that work on Diamond)
So I start with two link:
Diamond/Pocket PC:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401907&highlight=today+screen
SecondToday is very useful with TouchFlo3D when you need a second Today-Screen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408642&highlight=diamondtv
DiamondTV is a Software in development to stream TV channels over Internet (3G/HSDPA...) on your Diamond

Morning!
Im tinkering around learning about adding apps and customizations to existing ROMS. Im messing around with Tayutama Edition v1.0.2 (I9000) superslim, and i want to add shortcuts to the desktop and remove existing ones. Where would i find that info? I think i read its just in a xml file but i cannot see one that includes the information in the ROM
2nd Question: Do i have to keep the modem.bin file in the ROM? i just dont need to keep flashing it every time i test if the radio hasnt changed
3rd Question: I put in Handcent SMS into the /system/app to install when it flashes, but it crashes when i go to settings. Anyone else seen this?
Im very new to this, but a quick study! Any help is appreciated!!
Cheers!
Anybody Know? Maybe i posted this in the wrong forum? Arg i have just hit a wall and i cannot find the answers im looking for!!!
Cheers!
AllGamer and I share the forum-level moderating responsibilties for the SGS i9000 areas. While I have asked ragin (and ask the same of everyone here) to use the "report this" button at the top of every thread/post to notify us of things like this, this thread (and several others he has comment similarly in) are indeed misplaced and do not belong in the development section.
If anyone is unclear as to the proper location/placement for threads, particularly in regards to the development section, I advise you to read both the "STOP!! Before you post, read this NOW!!" thread at the top of each section...it has clear and extensive guidelines for what should and should not be posted in the development section.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation in both proper placement of threads/posts, as well as proper use of the methods for handling ones that end up here improperly
Deleted. Changed my mind about the question
Hi folks,
I'm opening this thread to provide a place for people who have questions or problems with the WebServer Native Access app to contact me and get support. I will monitor this thread as closely as I can. As always, PLEASE search before posting (seriously, it's in the forum rules)! Questions which have already been answered will get responses ranging from exasperated to snarky, or may get no response at all!
I am doing this for a few reasons.
1) People without at least ten forum posts can't post in the main thread, so this gives them a better option than PMing me (PLEASE don't do that unless it's some kind of seriously sensitive issue).
2) The main thread is a mishmash of version announcements, problem reports (and responses), discussion of the technology and capabilities, and various other miscellaneous topics. It's messy and makes finding what you're looking for pretty hard in many cases. If you have a question about the app, even if you have at least ten posts, please put it here!
3) The original thread has a lot of very early discussion of the app, which is mostly irrelevant now. Except for the top post, almost nothing posted in that thread has been updated as the app has progressed. I will try to keep this one up to date.
Stuff that goes here:
* Questions about using the app ("Does this work on the Lumia Icon?").
* Questions about the app itself ("Can I include the server code in my own app?")
* Requests for help ("How do I install this app on WP8.1?")
* Bug reports, although if you can write a COMPLETE bug report - environment, repro steps, expected result, details of what happened instead - you are also welcome to post those in the main thread.
* Discussions of bugs and issues that have already been reported, including suggested fixes or work-arounds.
* Feature requests, though these can also be put on the main thread.
Stuff that doesn't go here:
* General "Thank you! Very useful" posts; there's a Thanks button under every post I (or anybody else) make.
* Discussion of the technical details of the app (code suggestions, etc.).
* Unhelpful declarations that you have a problem ("It doesn't work!") - those don't belong *anywhere*!
* Requests for the ETA of a new version or feature (I can't give ETAs for something I'm only able to work on in my spare time)
* Anything that has already been answered, even in another thread!
F A Q will go here when I get around to writing one.
Reserved for now.
Dont Work on #920
Wow, I'm... sorry to hear that? Maybe if you provided even the least, tiniest bit of useful information (like, what happened, whether you were able to install the app, whether you were able to run it, what OS version you're running, the minor and obvious stuff) I would actually be able to help you.
Hi,
I'm trying to make an Windows Phone 8.1 App that provides 2 statics htmls to be loaded from a computer.
I had tried a lot of times to use the "WP8Native Access Webserver" but it doesn't work.
Can you say me a tutorial or an example app to see how to use it on WP8.1?
THX!
