Bluetooth Volume?

My bluetooth volume is really low on the headset, anyone else have this problem? Im using the Jawbone bluetooth headset on Dutty's v3 rom on my att tilt. Ive tried different roms, adjusting the volume to highest on the phone and the headset but callers are still hard to hear. Ive used the same bluetooth headset on my previous 8525 with no problems. My headset was even too loud when on high with the 8525. Any advice would be great because i do all my talking via bluetooth with my phone.

Yes, everyone has this problem - although I heard something about AT&T's latest ROM having some fix for the BT, but wasn't sure exactly what it fixed...

Well if the problem was fixed either buy a chief here or htc or whomever, there should be a cab file floating around with the fix. thats what im hoping for or maybe a registry edit to help fix the problem. Ive read many threads on how the bluetooth volume suck for cars as well. Maybe if theres a fix for that, the same fix should fix my problem and many other's.

Yeah as a matter of fact you can take this into your own hands. The latest AT&T ROM has a file called "AudioPara4-CWS_V6.csv" which I cooked into my new ROM (releasing tomorrow morning) as well. The thing is you don't need to "COOK" it at all. And it is simply a comma delimited spreadsheet. I have attached it so you can download it. Simply edit it as necessary for your headset, drop it in \Windows and add the following registry key to your device:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
"AcousticFile"="\Windows\AudioPara4-CWS_V6.csv"

Drop and Go?
So i just drop the unzip file u provided into my documents and edit the registry myself as u described? Sounds easy enough if thats all it takes. Whats the name of the rom u are releasing? Ill have to give it a try.

DARN! When i downloaded the file on my tilt and tried to open it i get the usual zip error of cant find the archive file crap. Guess ill have to wait to get home from work to try it on my computer.

If you're using File Explorer select "Show All Files"...sorry I zipped it directly from my ROM and it has the hidden and system attributes set. Even on a Windows machine you will need to enable hidden files AND Protected OS files to be able to see it. And put it in \Windows.

Even after i check show all files on file explorer, then click on the zip file, get the same zip error when i try to open it.

Exactly, glad im not the only one that cant unzip this file. sounds like we just need to place a couple files in my documents then edit the reg. This might sound dumb but can u just upload the files a la carte that need to go to the my documents folder instead of making it a zip file? A cab that installs by putting these files and edits the reg would be too good to be true. Anyone up for the challenge?

Make sure you have hidden system files unchecked in Windows?
If you using Vista go to tools in any folder. Click on folder options.
go the view tab.
uncheck "hide protected operating system files"
XP should work the same way as well. This solved it for me.

Yes, you are totally off as AcousticFile is a String, not key.
Try the Cab I attached.

Thanks for the cab file but whats it supposed to do? I installed the cab to the device then soft reset the phone. I then talked via bluetooth headset for 20 minutes after reset and the low volume was still there. Almost seemed the cab did nothing more then take up 16kb of memory on the phone. Didn't address the low volume problem in the bluetooth headset. It must be something with the phone because i know this headset gets very loud becuase ive used it on several devices and all being consistant except the tilt. Any other suggetions to fix this problem anyone?

I got this tip from somewhere before ... see if this help you ... it's for the BT handset mic volume ... but within those keys ... there should be one for the speaker volume as well ( you have to search for YOUR device ... as everyone's is different ):

If you search the forum you will find a few posts on this subject. I have been searching through them just about every day and I have had no luck in finding an answer. Seems editing the registry doesnt help and the BT fix cab was released by HTC to fix bluetooth headsets dropping calls. I have tried the fix and I have tried using Jetware, I have not tried the registry fixes because many others have tried and said it doesnt work. Ive been through 4 headsets and non have good volume. I am still waiting on someone to find a working solution or a reasonably priced headset (below $100 thats non-stereo) that works. I think you may be stuck for a while like so many others....

Guess thats why the cab didnt help out with increased volume. i did tons of searching beforestarting this thread and like u found nothing so i decided to post and see what happens. Quentin stated above he fixed the problem in his latest rom released today, 1/14/08, so i guess ima have to try his rom out to see if it helps. i really dont want to leave dutty's 1.1 rom cus of opera 8.65 and his great features cooked in. i love how dutty has the battery status under htc home with the exact percentage of battery life. anyone have a cab for that feature dutty cooks into his roms? thanks!

U don't have to limit what rom to use to have this so called BT volume fix (which I am not sure if it really working or not), just use the cab I package above.

Try This Album!!!!!!

curious if it is possiable to add this to htc album. a major part of album app that is missing from the wm2003 edition of album. can anybody figure a way to add this feature. also i have not been able to find a way to install the old album on a wm6 device...any help on either of these issues would be greatly appriciated. thanks!
UPDATE!-here it is i highly reccomend giving it a try ...trying to get an english translation though! just unzip and place in program files folder! ALL CREDIT TO TWEAKRADJE!!!!!
Update2-once you have album4wm5 installed overwrite with the album exe that i've posted make sure you do not install the camera exe as this will mess up your camera. this update will translate the album to english. now i will try and get some help with the delete/copy/paste issues not working. NOW YOU CAN BROWSE ANY PIC ON YOUR PHONE ZOOM IN AND SET AS TODAY BACKGROUND!!! ONCE AGAIN ALL CREDIT TO TWEAKRADJE!!!!!

The ability to set a background thru htc album doesn't seem to be in there. It's only for showing off what WM can do ... I don't think its supposed to be useful! haha.
My device still has "Pictures and Videos" on it... Doesn't yours? I'm using the TouchIT rom, but I don't know what is in or have been removed from the OpenTouch roms ....

yeah, I have pics and vids with the option i'm talking about....but both pics and vids AND htc album are missing important features that the old album from wm2003 had. pics and vids can't zoom and save as to the today screen. u r just stuck with your picture as is for the today screen. htc album can zoom any pic but you can't save to anywhere. u can use for a contact but still not in the zoomed form. this all sounds kinda picky on my part i'm sure but if u have ever used...or get the chance to use album wm2003 u will see how good a program it is. thanks for your response and keep an eye and ear out for any help on these programs. thanks again!!!!!!

Why don't you try and extract it from a WM2003 ROM? I'll see if I can do that some time this month... maybe.

I've only ever used WM5 and WM6 .. so I don't know what you're talking about haha. But I'm interested in finding out... maybe someone else can extract them since Ivan is going thru a computer crisis at the moment.

Just copy the CAB in that post over onto your phone via activesync ... then open the file explorer on your phone, find the cab and tap it to run the installation.

Don't install that cab because it overwrites the camera software as well...

yeah, i have installed many cabs since frequenting this site the past few months. the icon for the album program i want appears in my programs list but when i try to open it i get the red x of death. this program cannot be opened because it is not signed by a trusted blah blah... or one if it's components is missing blah blah...any help???

could you guys possibly tell me what to look for that would need to be extracted? i would probably need to install total commander to investigate the files closer than what i could with file explorer... um...right?? i'm trying to help myself guys haha! oh by the way after installing that cab my camera still worked. but, when i dropped the files from the zip into the windows folder manually it did quit working. i got the files out and all is well. i was just excited momentarily to see the icon for this beloved program of mine in my program list. thanks again try not to forget about me..

OEM/CAB for Push to Talk (PTT) on AT&T Tilt/Kaiser?

Greeting All, I promise I wouldn't resort to starting a new thread unless I had exhausted all other options. I've searched 25+ different things on Google, read literally hundreds of thread and thousands of posts learning and creating. I've been a Mogul user for a year, but have now moved on to the Kaiser/Tilt. I've made a fantastic ROM and love everything about it except for one thing - it's missing PTT. I own a computer business and our techs use this religiously. I'd love to have it back, but have searched high and low for an OEM or CAB. I even tried extracting it myself from the latest AT&T stock ROM, only to have it never install right after creating the CAB.
I've hit road blocks and dead ends all over the forum. 4 times I found what I needed and all times the CAB/OEM/RAR no longer existed. Googling the file name returned nothing. The best I have to go on is this: I saw in a discontinued thread there was an OEM package from "_Alex_'s UltraClean ATT 1.60.502.3 ROM OEM Packages.rar", namely "PTT_2_0_614_713". It's even in the screenshots in the WIKI, but I can't find this package in v5.1 of the posted OEM packages. I've hunted everywhere for it. Forums, FTPs, Google... either I'm just completely missing it (possible - been at this problem for around 15 hours) or it's just not there anymore.
Can anyone possibley provide me with a link to the UltraClean RAR download? Or at the very least that specific OEM package? Even a CAB of it would suffice - I'll make an OEM. I'm about ready to give up and *gasp* flash a stock ROM so I can have PTT back until I get this solved. Please, someone point me in the right direction if you can. Thanks so much for everything the major players do on this forum. Love it!

Very cool, thanks for the help. I have the same files from the original AT&T ROM, yet I was having problems converting it to a working CAB/OEM. However, your attachment helped me run across something else that might work. I searched for "PTT=2_0_703_715" instead of "PTT_2_0_703_715" and came up with a few more hits. I think I can build an OEM from it and eventually a CAB. If so, I'll be sure to post it all here for anyone like me.

::EDIT:: - I just realized that this IS a complete OEM. The file I was missing before was marked as system so it wasn't showing up at first. (When I recreated it manually, I got the error of it's already there...) I'll see if making this into a CAB works on the cooked ROM. If so, you're my hero. If not, you've still given me something to work with!! Thanks again.
::EDIT AGAIN:: - Well, creating a CAB from those files didn't seem to work, but it's entirely possible I just did that wrong. It installed successfully (so it claims), but I can't get the button to remap properly either via Registry during install or manually assigning it to PTT. (Mapping it to Comm Manager and MS Voice CMD works perfectly though.) Starting PTT manually (from the PTT folder under Windows after install) seems to work at first. It warns of possible extra charges and starts to provision service, but it never finishes. No error message (that I can make out... there is a scrambled text message which is what currently happens when someone who has PTT tries to message me or their status changes, etc). I'll try cooking it into a ROM and see what comes of that. FWIW, I also tried building the additional files from a stock AT&T Tilt firmware. I'm hoping someone else can come through with the original OEM files I was after (pictured in the Kaiser Kitchen Wiki from _Alex_) so I can try to turn them into a CAB. Otherwise, I'll keep tinkering with what I have to work with and see what happens.

Sorry for the double post, but this i something that may help others running across this thread - rusyn posted a cab that might work. Unfortunately I haven't tested it yet, but it seems like they had luck! The thread is HERE. I'm skeptical if it maps the PTT button correctly because it looks like the same files I packed myself into a CAB, yet it gave me a bit of grief with that. (Of course, I very well could have done it wrong, but it was far from my first CAB creation.)
Either way, give it a go if you were hunting like me.

GPS under snapvue working!!!!!!!!

just to keep you posted and give you all hope: I have managed to get the gps working under snapvue.
Right now, I also have a liberated stock rom WWE.
I'm trying to add gps to it. For now, what I have:
GPS can be added on any snapvue rom and started manually.
I'll post later the how to. I want first to try to integrate this in a final rom.
Read on for updates. It won't take month before I post something
I cannot post now, because I still have some strange locks up that I want to investigate.
EDIT: For now I can provide this. I need testers to confirm all necessary key are there.
Instruction:
Get the attached zip file at post #6 below. Unzip. Copy to the snapvue side (liberated of course)
Install the cab, and the two reg files. You need a registry editor like resco explorer to import reg key.
soft reset snapvue (you can use task manager for this, or vista. Just make sure you use a software, or you wait 5 minutes after reg import if you remove battery)
Run Task Manager, go to device tab
Start TAI1 device then GPD0 device
Test with HTCGPStest. Click on open and see if you got data.
If somebody has a full version of wincecabmanager, he can make a cab with the registry included and post here.
Please report if it works (the install of course, I know GPS work)

i m not sure if being synchronised with cmonex is a good thing.
she 's potentially the best person to make the shift project, as she is one of the most experimented person in the windows ce communoty
i m sure she wants to make something really amazing and not just snapvue fullscreen sd gps blabla...
she look too much after perfection, so we wont see anything
before a long time. (plus she work on too many project ..ppc..umpc..ce.net hpc...)

Have installed as described into german rom, WIMO needs a reset after importing the reg files because GPD0 wasn't on the device list. After starting devices manually, everything is running well.
Now we need a small program to start/stop this both devices for switching GPS on/off and that's it.....

That's easy, but somebody has to do it. Also, adding the reg to the cab using a full version of wince cab manager would be nice.
Also, you need to turn this on only after soft reset. GPS on/off is done by program (htcgpstool for example or google map)

I've created REG to CAB conversion with CEregedit... give a try... seems that it works well on my shift...
I also have a cab of the original GPS shift.cab provided by thaihugo with reg included, but it does not work... dunno why... maybe, I missed something in the first step of the conversion... From .cab to .reg...

Appears to be working, i get lots of data in GPS Tool, but no satellite lock, Google Maps also gets no lock, just gives my rough location from the nearest mobile phone antenna.
Edit - looks a lot like junk data, it's the same data repeated over and over.

Got locks myself, so it might be where you're located, but I've seen a case where the gps has junk data in it. This should be explored, but it's definitly locking, even if we need to fine tune it.
About the rom, it would be a cooked rom from snapvue, as soon as I manage to get the sound working in my roms. Seems to mess up pretty quickly.
What you call junk data is the gps giving you the sat it actually tries to download from. It repat over and over until it can get it ephemeris, which could be shorted by a agps download.

what task manager -> device tab are you talking about?

Task manager is a new program icon. Device is one of the menu option of this prog.

TF3D Email Tab Remove Envelope

I have seen a few people remove the envelope so you can read more on the email preview. ITNV sent me 2 manila files and they worked like a charm. I'm using Herg's V6 Flip clock TF3D, so I haven't tested on stock Fuze or other TF3D themes. I would highly suggest you use Total Commander and back up the 2 manila files that are in your windows folder, then copy these to see if they work.
My basic steps, I used total commander, and looked in the windows director and found the 2 manila files and copied them as a backup.

I went to settings, Today and turned OFF TF3D.
Then I took these 2 manila files that are the same name (and came from ITNV-Thank you) and copied them to the windows directory and clicked overwrite.
I then went back to settings, Today and turned ON TF3D and bam, the envelope is now behind the message, and I can read the a lot more than 2 lines. I've been looking for this for a while, hope it can help you as it has me.

I got these files from ITNV, and he said he was pretty sure this got it done for him, no guarantees. Sorry if this didn't work. All I did was write these files over the files that were in my windows folder.
These are the files I had backed up before making the change. "I am using Herg Flip Clock V6" Not sure if the theme or TF3D you are using might make a difference.

You still have to follow the directions and TURN OFF TF3D BEFORE INSTALLING and I still advise saving a copy of the manila files before installing. I have attached a cab as well as a photo to show what it looks like once installed. I did experience a lock when turning TF3D back on that required a soft reset and then turning TF3D back on but there were no other performance issues once restarted. These cabs do nothing more than add the files cparkhorn provided. There is a cab to remove the envelope and another one to add the envelope back. Thanks again

I saw your screen shot and I use the cab but I still only see 2 lines and at the part where I can get the body it says "click to view the message". I wish I knew why I can't get it to work for me.

She won't let me install a registry editor on it (yet) which is literally killing me [I just want to see what's there]. I'll have to install it when she's showering or something and just remove the shortcut from the programs list so she'll never know

you must have a different version of TF3D (or at least different manilla files in play). Did you confirm that you do in fact have these two manila files on your Diamond? I want to make sure it was overwriting a file and not just adding one new one and over writing one...

I have unzipped the files and pasted in Windows foler and then run the file but still the same issue : I have attach the screen shot : any help please
