A2DP BitPool settings - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I'm sorry to have to post this, I don't like asking for help!
I've tried searching with the term BitPool (and got nothing even though this word is in the KaiserTweek thread so that at least should have come up in the results!) and A2DP as well as several other key words on their own but have found nothing, I've searched both this forum and the main Kaiser forum, with child forum search activated. (Is the search function playing up?)
I want to try playing with my A2DP settings, I have found the registry key to edit but don't want to try random settings. I also have KaiserTweek, but although there are several options in the bitpool setting, for some reason I can only select the default and "very low" options. The others won't stick and revert back to default.
So could some kind soul either post the different settings to try in the registry, or point me to a thread (I'm sure there was one once!) that discusses the merits of the various settings. The issue I'm having is that when connected to my rSAP carkit (Nokia 610) music jumps like crazy. I've tried enabling and disabling joint audio to no effect (soft reset each time to make sure the device has updated the registry) and figured adjusting the bitpool may have some effect. Course I may also be completely wrong as music works fine when the audio isn't connected via A2DP (hard wire connection) and the phone is connected via rSAP, or when the A2DP is active, but rSAP isn't. It may just be a limitation of the bluetooth bandwidth. The solution posted in another thread or cycling bluetooth on/off doesn't work for me.
Thanks

Multiple Bluetooth device re-connection issues

I have 3 stereo bluetooth devices and 2 headset only devices.
The problem comes from auto re-connecting to the stereo devices.
The only way it seems to work at all is if I pair all the stereo devices first.
If I reset, then I usually have to click and hold on the device in BT Settings and select "set as wireless stereo" to get the stereo connection to kick in.
In my tests I have made sure only one device is on at a time.
It certainly is not as easy as it should be.
It seems to be worse after a Tilt reset.
So my questions are : Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a fix or work-around for it?
If not, does anyone no how to make a direct link to the BT Settings Window so at least it would only be a couple clicks to fix it?
You need at least one of each device (headset and stereo headset) to see this problem.
I've seen this with my Wizard as well as the Tytn II, so I suspect it's a "feature" of the MS BT stack. I think it's somehow related to the "set as wireless stereo" feature -- apparently only one device at a time can have that setting, and MS turns the setting off if it can't connect to that device. Note that there's no such setting for handsfree, and connections on that profile work flawlessly between multiple devices.
Its a little better
What I found out is that if you pair all your stereo devices first and then all the non-stereo, things seem to work a bit better and Dutty's BT-Link plugin will reconnect the stereo part most of the time, so its only a click away and sometimes you don't need to turn the device to discover mode.
However, if anyone from MS reads this, there is no reason not to automatically connect into full stereo, IF the device is the only one in the list that can be found at any point in time. And if they wanted to be really cool, if not, then present the user with a list so he can click to choose.
Similar problem
Hi BSW11,
Im having a similar problem with the pairing of my carkit.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1717330#post1717330
I believe it can be traced to the the MS BT stack not handling the automatic re-pairing correctly. I am surprised that not many other people have notice or complained in this forum about it.

No BT Wireless Stereo device will auto-connect to any WM device, you have to tell your phone to connect to it via the BT setting unless a 3rd party app has that function built in to it. This is a 'feature' of MS WM OS system.
Any BT 'headset' (ie mono earpiece) will auto connect if it has been selected for 'use as headset'
Hope this helps.

What combo have you been most successful with?

This is in regaurds to the a2dp settings. Curiuos to know what combo people have found to have the best and loudest sound by setting bit pool, joint stero, etc. Also, please list what headset you have. (i have s9's) thanks
anybody?????????
Jabbra B620s, LevelOne BLH-1200, Philips SHB7100
all working just OK
i meant like the bitpool and settings like that.
I've been using sony dr-bt10cx's with the default bluetooth/bitpool settings, and have been getting great results. i've used kaiser tweak to bump the settings in the past, but i didn't notice much improvement.
I'm using the SonyEricsson MBR-100. I've been streaming audio to a home audio system and car radio for the last couple of months. It works fine right out of the box, my Kaiser is stock when it coms to ROM and A2DP settings. Don't even have the HTC bluetooth fix installed.

MODS - please delete one of these double threads, or merge them. Dunno why there are two!
Hi Steve. It sounds like you are running in to the same problem as I am as described in my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=356630.
Unfortunately I was unable to find a bitpool setting change that fixed the problem.
I'd be very curious to hear whether your skipping also coincides with cell phone tower hand-overs and whether the skipping goes away if you soft-reset your device before you connect it to your car and A2DP receiver.
It happens even when stationary, and using phone alarm too confirms that there is no cell switching going on. In fact the phone has full strength indicated so it's probably not even hunting for a better signal.
I too notice the problem is worse at night, but I don't soft reset the phone in the morning, I just connect and go. Even then I have to disable the bluetooth carkit, but in the evenings its the devil's own job getting A2DP to stream. The bluetooth dongle says its connected, the phone thinks its connected but no music comes out of either the car radio (wired to the dongle) or the phone. Bit of playing and it will either work, or I'll give up.
Actually thinking about it. You have the problem when you change cell towers, so the phone is registering with the new tower. My carkit uses rSAP (remote sim access profile) so the phone itself is effectively switched off, the carkit becomes the phone by accessing my sim and handles the cell side of things. So I think I can effectively rule out the cell tower thing.
Thanks for your reply!

Bluetooth A2DP keeps skipping

Hey looking to see if anyone else is having this problem?
I have the Samsung SBH500
And I've read up on other issues with this but this seems to be a bit odd.
Most people put the cause up to having both the Handsfree and Wireless Stereo on at the same time or when the phone is changing cell towers.
Well mine skips when it's just connected to Wireless Stereo although not as often as when both are connected. Also I know I'm not changing cell towers because I'm not even moving and right now have no reception anyway. Also happens in areas when I do have reception but not moving.
Anyone know a fix for this?
Edit: Distance does not seem to affect the skipping. As in, I do not think that moving around is causing this problem cos i just walked into the other room with headset and could still here it.. Just every so often it will cut out for a few seconds. A bit annoying when you're listening to your favourite song is on and it cuts out the best parts...
Headset also works flawlessly on my PC, laptop and other mobile phone.
Edit again: Using Dutty's latest 6.1 ROM and application used to run the music is HTC Audio Manager
Sometimes it will run smoothly, sometimes will just skip for a few seconds and then run smooth again, other times it will constantly skip for seconds at a time and you hear your music in random words.
I have the Sony MEX-BT2500 which has the A2DP audio push and hands free. Both are on while I drive and I get an occasional minor skip every 10 minutes or so - which I guess is considered normal?.
Check the device's partnership settings in the Bluetooth Wireless Manager. Try deleting the partnership and re-associating it with your device.
You might also want to consider the patch in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284974
It seems to work on the TyTN, might work with the TyTN II too.
Good luck.
The only time I've noticed mine skipping is when I try to send a text message while it's playing or a very brief hiccup when I hit the power button to turn the screeen on/off.
In my experience BT Audio playback skips when I have WiFi on at the same time or I am opening a big program / file. Otherwise I have no skips. I am using my aging Motorola HT820 to stream music via A2DP.
Thanks guys for your replies but I figured it out.
Using the Advanced Config, which I guess is just Dutty's version of KaiserTweak, I changed the bitpool to 72 from 64.
Now it's working flawlessly.
Haven't noticed any real lag in the phone since doing that so yeah. Might work at a lower rate.
This setting is also on KaiserTweak if you don't have Advanced Config.
Other values may work that are lower, I just went straight to 72 and was happy with it. Too lazy to test lower cos requires too much Soft Resetting and I'm not patient enough hehe.
Also Jimmyy - I saw that thread but didn't think it would make a difference as Tytn uses WM5 whereas I'm on WM6.1. Figured any software issues in WM5 would be fixed for WM6. Thanks anyway mate.
I just wanted to add that I set my bitpool to low using kaiser tweak, and finally my Motorola S9's became useful instead of near useless.

Play Music via Bluetooth "fixed"

This is my first, and only a minor, contribution to the forum; I've been a feeder up till now.
I bought a cheap bluetooth headset for my HD2 for use with my motorcycle satnav and also my HD2 - not that I want to take calls whilst I'm riding, but playing music would be a possibility. It was similar to this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Bluetooth-V2-...e_Phones_Bluetooth_Acc_ET?hash=item3efab16de4
I paired it with my satnav and could hear voice commands and music as expected. I then paired it with my HD2 and could only get calls, no music playing!!!
I tried looking for settings on the HD2 but nothing made any difference so I decided to look in the registry. After a while exploring I eventually found:
HKLM/software/widcomm/BTconfig/devices/
There were three devices paired (HD2, satnav and my car) so next I had to work out which one. I found that if you look at the nickname for each one, it's decoded into english by the Reg Editor (I use CERegistryEditor). Using trial and error I found that changing the setting "Hideconnections" from "0" to "1" did the trick. I can now hear music through the headset!!!
Well chuffed with myself!!!
PS Perform a soft reset after changing it to lock it in otherwise it resets to "0" after a disconnect.
OOPS! because I was looking for Bluetooth stuff I posted this in the wrong area, sorry!!! Maybe a moderator can correct please?
How bizarre it works by default for me......well done on the find though
Thanks...
It doesnt work for me, im using samsung mono bluetooth. I've tried many methods like btaudio bttoggle.... any help, thanks
All I can suggest is that - like I did - compare settings with something that does work. Maybe because you have a mono headset (mine is stereo) it's not capable of receiving music?
Hi
I could play music and receive system sound in my Jabra mono bluetooth earpiece if, in HD2, I go bluetooth->advance->Audio and check "play system sounds on remote hands-free device". However, after a phone call, the music and sound will be routed back to the phone speaker, though the earpiece is still connected (you can still make/receive phone calls through the earpiece).
The music and sound can only be routed to the earpiece again after a soft reset.
The other observation is that, if there is pause in between music or sound for a period of about 12 to 15 seconds, the HD2 will "suspend" the bluetooth transmission (beep in the earpiece) and resuming the music will cause the bluetooth transmission to be re-established (beep sound in earpiece). This is causing skipping of the first 1 to 2 second of the music / sound.
Have installed BTaudio V1.0. It is working on my HD2 and will keep the transmission constant and no skipping problem.
However, also needing soft reset after phone call.
Does any one has similar experience ? Is this earpiece/ head set related of is this HD2 related issue ?
No one has simialr experience ? Is there a thread on bluetooth related registry tweaks, I have been searching for it but don't seems to be able to find one. Any help will be appreciated.

I don't have that reg key at all! I have a dutch hd2 running stock 1.66. When I try to connect to a parrot party bluetooth stereo box this (most of the time) doesn't work. Once or twice I established a working connection but after trying multiple times with no luck I decided to find a fix for my problem. Now I try to edit my reg with this and it's not there!?
i paired the hd2 with the car kit parrot ck3100... leaving apart that it doesn't connect always... although i have checked in settings to play all phone sounds through BT it doesn't...
i think it's a BT problem of the hd2, or maybe all WM phones... 'cause ițve had issues like this before...
P.S. once it played the music thorugh the car kit... just like this...
