Is there a hack or reg edit to allow AT&T CV to actually recognize my phone as a 3g phone. When I go to CV It says that CV only works on 3g phones...my treo750 is a 3g phone but i guess it's one of those things that's buggy with WM6.
Anyone know a fix?

Sorry for the poor state of my site. But all you need to do is change the "User Agent" that the web browser uses to identify itself to the web server.
When CV sees Treo 750, it still thinks it's unsupported and gives you the message. But if you change it to be the 8525 or Blackjack which are CV currently supports, it lets you in.
The WM6 from for Treo 750 already includes a Realplayer so there's nothing else you need to do to play CV. Just change the user agent to the AT&T 8525.
Get .cab or .reg files here to do that:

Install the 8525 .cab to change it to play CV. Install the Treo 750 .cab to change it back to the default (Treo 750.) The only reason you really need to change it back to Treo 750 is when downloading programs, some sites feed you the right .cab file based on your handset model...so you'll want to make sure you're identifying properly.
Just download both .cabs to your phone and then execute them to toggle the User Agent.
Also, make sure to completely shut down IE after making the registry change. On the Treo 750, press and hold OK and select "stop" on IE, then re-start it. It only takes registry changes on a fresh execution.

for WM5 ONLY!. For WM6 you need to use the link further up and only change the .registry. Registry changes are different on WM6 and WM5
im having problem banking in the usa with my kaiser . the bank won't send any info to my device. For sercure reasons . anyone have a clue on what i can do ?
I believe you need to pass your pocket ie into a normal ie.
TO do that there are instructions in the registry edit sticky in upgrading kaiser

Change Pocket IE to IE Version 5.5 (For Secured Sites)
* Go to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\User Agent\ key.
* Set the default value to "Mozilla/4.0" (Default is "Mozilla/2.0").
* Set the "Version" value to "MSIE 5.5" (Default is "MSIE 3.02").
* Set the "Platform" value to "Windows NT 5.0" (Default is "Windows CE").
This will only work on some secure sites that check version number rather than perform a check for support of secured transactions.
This registry hack will make Pocket Internet Explorer identify itself as IE 5.5 on Windows 2000. However it will prevent web sites that provide Pocket PC specific content to be able to know you're actually using a Pocket PC.
And btw, becareful doing it over wifi. People can view what you send by intercepting the signal, assuming if they know how

Hi, can you expand on the above? is it all possible to change the browser user agent?
It's wierd, I've got the HTC TyTN II and my mate has just got the MDA Vario III and we're both on T-mobile UK. HE can access our bank, (rbsdigital.com) and I can't! Both using Pocket IE. I'll need to get him to check the browser user agent on his, see what it's reporting.

I'm having the same issue. I also downloaded Opera Mobile, and I'm getting the same issue. I had no problem with my AT&T 8525 (Hermes).
there is a browser.dll somewhere on the forum that nulls the agent string written in the dll, so the agentstring is taken from the registry and not the dll,
I use it to fake my Kaiser as a N95 so 3 video's stream correctly over planet3

Please give more details. Most people are assuming it is a "wrong useragent" issue, but if you are using the wap.cingular APN (MEdia Net instead of My ISP with AT&T) instead if isp.cingular, the way wap.cingular round-robins your source IP randomly will randomly log you out of websites which are extra paranoid about session hijacking as soon as your IP changes. Use isp.cingular ("My ISP" network settings instead of "MEdia Net") instead.
I'm using the HTC Kaiser, and I'm using isp.cingular. Still the same issue.

anyone have anymore luck on this? very interested to know why windows mobile devices cant seem to do this

i have never been able to do this from any of my WM devices with either WM5 or WM6 ... its like the phone doesnt support the security or something... ived tried it with 3 or 4 different banks with several devices both on the cellular data system and via wifi
This is very strange. I am able to log into Bank of America's mobile website with my 8525 running WM6 but I can't get to the same website with my Tilt. It can't be a Windows Mobile thing it has to be a regisrty setting. I was able to log in to the BofA main website using opera mini but the pages take a long time to render.
I've read a few articles that indicate that the browser.dll file on some phones is now being modified by the carriers to override the registry settings for User Agent and only present a fixed value. You might try pulling browser.dll out of a TyTN II ROM (which does use the registry value) and overwriting the one that's in your \Windows directory with it.

I am using the HTC TYTN II Rom on my Tilt. Still no joy.

The Vodafone CAB linked from Modaco does not fix Wells Fargo's site for me.
Opera Mobile works fine for Bank of America website on ATT Tilt w/ HTC ROM. Opera Mobile has a setting that I changed when it did not initially work- change Opera to identify your device as a desktop instead of PDA.

I tried this cab from Modaco as well, still doesn't work. I've also tried the cab which installs the alternate browser.dll and changes the user agent string in the registry but no joy. Total dead end!!
Please, if there are any UK Kaiser users out there - can you try to access https://rbsdigital.com and see if you get the browser unsupported message? So frustrating as my mates's T-mob Vario III can access it no problem!!

Can someone tell me what this app is? Is the cab available somewhere?

The software that comes on the TyTN II is called WorldCard Mobile. I did not see it on the AT&T Tilt rom, but when I flashed to the HTC rom, it showed up.
It is OCR software that allows a picture to be taken of a business card then will take the information and import into your contacts. I have been looking for it as well and have not found it extracted as a cab within the forums.

The software is called WorldCard Mobile and it is only $25. You can buy it here : http://store.penpowerinc.com/mobile.html . I have tried it and it works as long as you have good lighting.
If this is something you would like then buy it and support the development of this product so they can keep making updates.
I added that app to my 8525 and it works great. I have installed it but not yet used it on the Tilt.

I've a bit of a request. I'm pretty much ready to buy the Kaiser, however, there is one deal breaker for me.
Part 1...
I want to know if the Tesco shopping website for groceries will work on the WM6 IE browser. Seem like an odd request? Well I do my grocery shopping online and if I can't add items to my basket while using IE for WM6 then this is a big deal for me!

I know it works on Opera Mini 4 so please don't suggest that.

Is there a lists / video / post somewhere of the Touch Flo enchancements HTC has implmented that affect WM6 IE on the kaiser? I've seen videos of people draging on the screen to zoom in/out. I know you can pan etc. Is this all?

I tried from the US and received a message "Sorry, your browser is not suitable". I tried this with internet explorer. Opera mini version 4 on the other hand seems to work because it gave me the page to sign in or register as a new customer.
i have a very similar issue, www.yahoo.com.hk will only display in a simplified version on the english version tytn 2, whiles the chinese version tytn 2 display the full version.
any fix for this.

Perhaps you could contact the web developer for the site you're having issues with. It could end up being a simple fix to enable WM6 IE to work.
Right checked this for you.
When you goto the URL you gave, it says the browser is not supported but gives the option to goto the access site.
Click goto access site, loads fine, and lets me login and then takes me to a slim site. This let me browse the departments and add them.
I have attached a zip with about 18 screens in it for you, along with a couple of screens
All done on Vario III flashed with Duttys normal rom final (v4) nothing else added into it

I have the WM6 for AT&T and the exchange server function works fine, provided you leave th "Force A&T& Proxity' checked/on. The only thing my AT&T version of WM6 won't do (yet) is let me watch Foxtel on the mobile. So, I'm trying to work out how to flash the Tesltra version of WM6 onto my AT&T Treo 750, which I think can be done via the SD Card method.
