Endkey.exe needed - NOT HTC Endkey - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Could someone please post the original Endkey.exe that's in WM6 \Windows? (or point me to it if it's out there, 'cause my searching hasn't found it)
Don't want the HTC Endkey - got that. I just seem to be missing the original Endkey.exe in my Windows folder after my last flash from cooking in Alex's kitchen, and I don't want to have to flash a plain ROM just to retrieve this one file, if someone can locate it and post it without too much trouble.
Thanks!

There is no "Original" Endkey.exe by default in the Kaiser.

Endkey.exe, where did it come from?

Hmmm, that's odd - Endkey.exe has been in the \Windows directory of many of the ROMS I have flashed - I know because I would assign it to Long_End.lnk - then when Red End Key is pressed, the unit is locked (and in XDA-Live ROM, it also disengaged GPRS connection).
Maybe it got cooked in there by others - if so, where did it come from? Again, it is not the HTC EndKey app that has several options, it is simply a lock function. Maybe it comes in Tilt ROMs only?

I don't have endkey.exe in my Windows directory, but the following registry change does it for me.
HKCU/Control Panel/Keybd/LongEndFunction to 1

What does Album_EnableStreaming.cab do?

I have this cab and I'm not sure what it does or if I need it on my pda2k after the 1.40 rom upgrade.
I also have pp2arm.cab. Any thoughts here?
Lastly, is there a way to play Shoutcast (music streaming) on my pda2k? If so, how. I connected to my wifi, went to shoutcast.com, and tried to play a stream but couldn't. I'm not sure if this is something that is possible.
Thanks,
Tom

If you dont know what a cab does then open it, have a look at it, check the reg settings that it gives you.
For this you need Wincab manager, other applications are around as well and you will find them on wiki, in the kitchen under kitchen tools.
The other option is on wiki (were else) have a look at the avliable roms, in the ERK_XXX you will find a link to a doc of that rom and what the cabs do (it has screen shots of wincab maneger and the exported reg entries). For most of the roms that is, the cook got bored of the work and got sloppy. Dont ask me which cooked version it was, its been a long time.
Album_EnableStreaming.cab seems to date back a while:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=ERK_X_106117
But, since the keys it creates are not created on their own in the new 1.40.xxx Extended roms, perhaps it does indeed still have some use.

Wizard with WM6 How do I get the HTC Plugin to Work?

I have searched the forums until my eyes bleed, I have downloaded and downloaded but still it does not work.
Does anyone have HTC Home Plugin cab files for the following?
MDA Vario/Wizard running WM6
I have managed to get the HTC Home Plug-in to appear in the Today Options screen and I have installed the HTC HomePlug-in customizer and run it but still nothing appears on my Today screen.
If anyone has managed to get the HTC Home Plug-in running on a Wizard with WM6 then please point me at the files I need.
Many thanks in advance.
Mick
try this one

file not found...plz look into it
Yep, duff link. Could you please send me another link to the pulgin and a compatible HTC Plugin customizer. (Could you post the file here please, at work and Rapid Share is blocked)
Many thanks for your help
Mick (St.Helens, Merseyside)
I am not sure but I remember I picked up somewhere here that the home plugin does not work properly if installed as cab rather than included in the ROM.
You may check it.
Cheers!

Hi,
if i right know, give's 2 versions: light witout HTC-programs and a professional version within HTC-programs. (so i found this 2 versions for german WM6)
May be, that you need the WM6 professional version with integrated HTC-tool-programs.
Frank
Hello
I reverted to WM5 by using this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=345205
Works great. Thanks for your help everybody.
Mick
Just use the HTC Home that is version 1.5, it works on WM5 and WM6. I installed it on my device using the cab, and modded it no prob. I run the Jag rom and have no issues. HTC Home above 1.5 don't always play nice unless they are cooked into the rom.
HTC Home v1.5
where can i get it for download?
greetings Frank
v1.5 also not works/displayed
i have found it and install the HTC home v1.5 on my device.
But it's also not work: clear scren, were the HTC home-screen should be to displayed...
i capitulate...
HTC Home for Wizard
Here try this one and make sure you uninstall any other version you have and have soft reset before installing
I also tried to attach the Home customiser but it kept failing so i have uploaded it to rapidshare
http://rapidshare.com/files/86916021/HHCv08b_1_.cab
it's work!
scousemartin, great thanks!
The HTC Home plugin now works! I be so happy...
What was my error by all the other versions and installations?
I think it's was partially not compatible to WM5 or the installations was incompletely. So i install in the last an older configurator...
I don't know, what was the error...
Gives ther some tips for setting other funktions for the icons, so i can to determine all open programs by one klick in the HTC Home Plugin?
over again great thanks to scousemartin!
PS:
one other question above HTC Home plugin:
In the top on left the screen shows the provider-network. So by me it's Vodafone.de.
If i power up my device (i'm at home), so it's show shortly "vodafone.de" and than for under one second "home" and than again permanently "vodafone.de".
I think, if i be in my homezone "vodafone at home" the HTC home-plugin is shortly signaled "home" by power up the device. If it right, that the HTC home-Plugin can show the "home-zone", so is the signalisation to short.
Give's ther an trick to show the Signalisation of "home-zone" permanently or that the plugin can showes it by permanently switch the displaying between Network-provider and signaled "home" or a other way to display the homezone if i be in my homezone?
Thanks for inside informations!
Frank
That was the only one i could get to work for the wizard to,glad you are happy, as for a task manager ,to show you all running programs, just add it to the program tab of htc home and then you can just click it to show up all running programs, or install Battstatus, that has a task manager built into it ,or use x-button
"home" signalisation included?
Thanks, i will test the programs or plugins for end all open programs by on click in the next time.
but... what is with the signalisation "home"? It is right, that HTC home can display the homezone (only very shortly) or it is a false interpretation, that is was short displayed "home" by power on the device (if i be in my homezone)?
Gives there an option, that it can displayed a longer time as under one second?
additionaly:
Oh, "home" was not by each swith-on displayed! Is my device longer time switched off (standby), than showes "home", if i switch from on to off and afresh on (also from the second switch-on).
Frank
Edit: I posted in the wrong section. my mistake.
Can v1.5 be installed if v1.0 is in the ROM?
This looks interesting. I'm running Octaivoi v6 which has a built-in HTC Home. I assume it's v1 although I don't really know.
Do you think there is a way to switch to v1.5? There is no way to uninstall the HTC Home from the ROM, of course...
Many thanks, man!

a experiment:
go into the registry: HKLM-SOFTWARE-HTC and delete the entry HTCHome. Make sure, that you have make a registry-backup, before you delete the entry.
Make a softreset.
If now the HTCHome-display not shows, look to start-settings-home-elements whether there still the entry "HTC Home".
If not, so test the setup of HTCHome 1.5, if the setup can now overwrite the older files or if it got an error-message.
May be, that you must have the extracted files and copy it manualy.
How i said: It's an experiment! May be that it works, may be, that it not works...
If the newer files not can be to copying, than restore the registry, so that the older HTCHome-Plugin again can works.

O2 UK contract settings - PDA Homepage

Hi chaps,
Wondering if someone can help me out with the following issue -
When I flash a new ROM to my device I am never able to use O2's homepage for looking up train times (something I use regularly) as it gives me a message stating it was unable to recognise my number.
Obviously this doesn't happen on a stock ROM.
Can anyone shed any light on where this setting is located, or what I need to do to access this feature on O2's site.
This is a small issue in the grand scheme of things but something I am flummoxed by!
I can find nowhere to enter my 'number' which will allow O2's homepage to identify me as a contract customer.
For info, I am using a Sony Xperia newly flashed to Jack's 2.9 WWE ROM.
Many Thanks!
(I did search but I couldn't locate anything on the above, though I will admit I may not have searched under all the correct terminology, apologies if I have missed something glaringly obvious!)

It's possibly the user agent, rather than the phone number. What browser are you using?
The Opera browser. But it doesn't seem limited to the Xperia, it seems to happen when ever I use a custom ROM. (Previously on a Stellar and before that, an Orbit). Perhaps I need to get a copy of the 'auto customiser' that O2 installs on any WM device they sell.
Any thoughts?

might help.
still a good chance it's just the custom user agent in the browser though.
Ive no idea what's included in the O2 roms. will have a quick look now as long as RS isn't playing up
BrB
Upon further reading it seems the auto O2 Customisation is done by an XML script, perhaps if this can be extracted (or found) I can locate the correct details?
try this first
O2/1.0/SonyEricssonX1i/R1AA Opera/9.5 (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/2141; U; UK) UP.Link/6.3.1.20.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
go into opera:config enter custom and a space in the quick search paste it in the relevant bit and save.
there's quite a lot of RGU and provxml in any rom.. in the R1 O2 there's also a load of cab files relating to connections.. Dumping it all in a folder.
There's also custinfo.txt in /windows drop the following into windows. (use a decent file manager not the built in one).
Many thanks for this! I shall have a go at this in a bit, I just reflashed my device again.
Once again, this is much appreciated my friend!

Is it possible to run the O2 customisations in o2stuff.zip on the R2 firmware? I'm getting impatient waiting for O2 to release an updated firmware
I don't mind the majority of customisations they make (apart from removing google maps and panel ) and I really just want to make sure the correct phone settings are in place.
I was wondering if I flashed to generic uk, dump the contents of o2stuff.zip in windows folder and execute O2_Operator_Settings.exe, would I in effect have an O2 customised R2 firmware?

mostly yes. there's some things I didnt include but it should be close.
Don't get me started on waiting for O2 to release new firmware updates.
The apocolypse will arrive before they actually release one at the same time as everywhere else. This is one of the main reasons I started flashing my devices (much love to this forum which has been my main source of information).
Plus the previous radio for my X1 had rubbish signal reception in my area and I was not prepared to wait for O2 to pull their finger out.

[APP] Comm Manager 2.9.5.0 Suite w/ Wifi Sharing v1.1 [NEW TEST CABS 09/04/2009]

This isn't a new app or anything, it's just the latest Comm Manager (2.9.5.0) packaged in a suite. Not very cool is it? Well, the "cool" feature part is Wifi Sharing integrated into the Comm Manager. After going through some packages, I realized that I could integrate the new HTC Wifi Sharing application(as found --> here) into the Comm Manager itself. So after some playing around to try to get all the components to work, I finally got it and put it together in a package. So here it is!
What's in the suite?
CM_Bluetooth_1_1_4_0 (HTC Bluetooth Wizard - Helps make bluetooth pairing easier)
CM_InternetSharing_0_9_2_0 (HTC Wifi Sharing Utility - Let's you share your data connection through wifi)
CM_Phone_1_1_0_0 (HTC Phone and Pin Utility - Configuring phone settings)
CM_WiFiWizard_1_7_3_0 (HTC Wifi Wizard - Helps make wifi connecting easier)
CommManager_2_9_5_0 (HTC Communications Manager - Manages all of the above)
HTCScroll_1_0_1914_2726 (HTC Scroll DLL - needed for Wifi Sharing)
Not much to say about it other than I "ported" the components myself from scratch from various leaked OEM roms such as the new TACHI and LEO, and put them all in one package. I also res hacked some better looking icons into the executables and resigned them, that's about it. I suppose this suite should work with all TouchPro variations at the least, but I have not tested that assumption so. For sure it works on my Fuze. So only install if you know what you're doing. I take no responsibilities for whatever comes from installing it. I make no claims as developing them. I just put them all together.
I will attach both a CAB, and EXT package version.
Enjoy!

** Updated **
Changelog: 1.0 - 1.1
-Updated HTC Internet Sharing to 1.1.1.2 (Thanks to Conflipper)
-Left executables untouched to see if this helps with the permissions issue. (no custom icons)
AL_CommManager_Suite_with_WifiSharing_1_1.CAB (NEW!)
*** UPDATE 09/04/09 ***
Added test cabs(below) that installs just the wifi sharing application and integrates it into your current commManager without installing a new commManager. This should mean more compatibility with other devices because we're not overwriting the commManager. But... commManager version might be critical to these cabs working or not, so make sure you have an updated commManager version. Probably commManager versions 2.9+ (Most newer cooked roms should have the newer commManagers). Try the cabs out ONLY if you've been having issues with the commManager suite not working right. If you're not having issues, don't use these cabs as they are the same exact version.
You only need to install one cab, depending on which slot you want the wifi sharing to replace.
(Slot3) = 4th Button from top in commManager
(Slot4) = 5th Button from top in commManager
(Slot5) = 6th Button from top in commManager
and so on... (remember the first slot is slot 0, and not 1)
So figure out which slot in the commManager you want to put wifi sharing in, then use that cab. Use at your own risk!
And don't forget to soft reset after installing! Also, I forgot to mention, HTCScroll.dll is needed for wifi sharing to work also, but most newer roms should have it.
hey dude, thanks for sharing this nice app.
interesting... screen shots? also you might want to make one with htc scroll 2 for 6.5 users.

The application specifically calls htcscroll.dll, so including scroll2 wouldn't do anything. Besides, scroll1 and scroll2 can co-exist, it just depends on which application calls on which dll file.

There isn't enough room for it, so if you want it, you'll have to replace one of the default buttons. It involves a few minor registry edits, which you can do with a registry editor. Programs like Advanced Configuration Tool v3.3 can also reorder and replace comm manager buttons too, but yes, 3G is included and can be used on it.
Here is an example of what needs to be done to the registry in order to change one of the buttons to 3G. I don't want to go too into detail because it requires some registry knowledge, but I'll give an example. Please don't touch the registry if you're not comfortable with it, as it can mess up a lot of things with your phone. I take no responsibilities if anyone messes up their registry from this.
Ok, let's say you want to change the Bluetooth for 3G
Here is what to look for:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\3]
@="Bluetooth"
replace the "Bluetooth" with "3G" like this:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\3]
@="3G"
And that should do it. It's pretty simple but you have to know what you're doing. Always always backup your registry before doing any work on it.
Thanks. I'd assumed that Phone or maybe even Flight Mode would be the first sacrificed.. I mean, how often does anyone turn their cellular radio on and off? I've never used those switches

It's probably because the TP uses a different wifi driver than the TP2. I'm sure by changing the registry setting for the wifi device will make it work.
This is what the TP uses:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN]
"DeviceName"="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\\TNETW12511"
Not sure what the TP2 uses, but if you can find it here in the forums and just change that registry line, it should work.

I have the same phone. After reading through another post that previously used the stand alone version, it seems that only certain cooked roms will work with these apps. I haven't implemented a rom on my sprint TP yet, but I will and I'm pretty sure that will solve the issue. So my best advice is to search and you will find a rom that others with the touch pro have used that allowed the app to function properly. Good luck

Manila 2.5 Problem

Ive got some manila 2.5 packages(ones with hero clock) but when using them, the clock is covered in the top left corner and the slider is missing. Could someone please tell me how to fix this problem, I think the problem is in initflashfiles.dat because the packages come with a text file that tells you to copy the text into the initflashfiles.dat. If I leave out the text from initflashfiles.dat, manila wont boot. I also heard of someone having this problem on a cooked rom after restoring a backed up registry, it was posted here.
Maybe a stupid hint, but looks like the magnifier. Maybe that's the problem.

Disabling the magnifier didn't work, anyone got any other suggestions.
I was just wondering where to get those packages? I am also looking for them. Thanks.
Anyone else having this problem? Here's the text file that contains what im told to add to initflashfiles.dat.
Any chance you have manila weather set to auto update?
Try unchecking "Download Weather Automatically" and soft reset.
Thanks i'll give that a go
Edit: Didn't work
Looking forward to the new rom. Does anyon have a fix for this?
Were you able to solve this? Thanks.
No, still not fixed
The fix is quite easy (when you know it ).
You'll have to use the OperatorPkg from the Leo OEM.
Include it, cook and the problem is gone. Only copying the files HTCSMCust_480x800 and HTCSMCust_800x480 didn't help me.
You'll notice that you'll then get 3 Rows Start Menu, not 4.
I didn't have to use the OperatorPkg. It was one of the Leo OEMs but I am not sure which one.
Take this one (EXT Package).
Thanks I'll Try It.
Hi, you don't need the operatorpkg. I am using the original one from R3A and have no problem getting the full manila 2.5 working. The problem you have is from a missing pkg. I had the same issue and cooked some more pkgs from leo.
You can check the chefs develop & share center sticky thread for the lines you need in initfiles.dat or put in a manila folder's app.dat (Linky). The one you have is incomplete. Notice there are some extra spaces at various places in the file names so make sure you correct them before throwing them in. I didn't pay attention and just pasted w/o correction, and Manila was crippled, with some menus/settings not showing up.
I believe I cooked almost every pkg from leo (the leo ext pkg with manila build 1918), except like runcc, camera, connectionsetup, menu enhancement (not req'd), google maps, etc. Don't forget to recmod the modules. I recmod everything in leo pkg. Good luck.
Thanks, hopefully have it working soon

No, No, that was not the point I was talking about. The fix you mean is to get Manila 2.5 starting at all. I was refering to the issue that you have when using a non-3-row start menu. Then you won't get the AppLaunchers at the bottom of the Home Screen.
But good comment, though, to make this clear.
The lines posted in the X1 chef's thread need some fix. You need to remove some spaces to get it working properly. You'll soon notice if you take a closer look to you initflashfiles.dat after inserting.
