Installed last night over v1.1.3 without issue. I just have coreplayer installed, no TCPMP or flash bundles. I went to m.youtube and picked a video, Core opened and streamed it nicely. It looks pretty much the same as before but the change log certainly shows a ton of fixes and tweaks.
I installed it too, and still cannot play files from m.youtube. I have TCPMP and flash installed.
Also still cannot get audio from ac3 files, do you have the same?
gnollo,
Go into Core Player menu>tools>preferences>select page>File Associations and set RTSP protocol (check the box).

Does ist only support m.youtube? Or is there a chance to get it working with full youtube like TCMP with Videoflashbundle?
They promise full youtube support later this month
Ac3 will only be supported later

Guys,
Don't get your hope high for Youtube, it will never happen the way TCMP does with flash bundle...
Personally, I am very disappointed with Core Player's progress, I brought the very first version of CP on the day it was released back in Oct 06 and an year and half later, it's hardly any different (my opinion) Betaboy will tell us of millions of fixes, improvements etc but I am not convinced at all. I am still using TCMP Player.
Here is confirmation from Betaboy...
"As far as YouTube... we do not play ANY flash video... nor will we ever with the restrictions Adobe has on the Flash Container (even though we do support it internally for testing purposes only)"

tried that but no change.
CP shows filename and duration after loading, but the video never appears. I tried moving along the timeline, no change.
seems better than previous versions
It might be a soon judgment / coincidence though, but the 1.2 which replaces my 1.1.3 plays smootlhly (in QTV mode)
Is it the extra twealing they did, or the DCS V1.7 ROM...(the fastest I tested so far) it will stay a mistery.
Gonna try VBenchmark tomorrow to see if we get a +1800 score .
No youtube playback through Coreplayer...

Been having the same problem as you. I even flashed a new ROM to my Kaiser, but to no avail.
@ Alemaker:
Could you check please to see what you may have installed that is bringing you success? Flash application? TCPMP without FlashBundle or whay?
Any ideas Betaboy?
QTV does not work for LG KS20
The QTV mode does not work with coreplayer 1.2 on my LG KS20, all I get is a black screen. Do I have to do something to have this program working as advertised for the MSM 7200 chipset ?
I searched this forum and found another KS20 user stating that the 1.1.3 was already not working and some users having differents PPC having the same black screen problem. I found a post on the 1.2 release thread on the coreplayer forum where another KS20 user was having the same blank screen problem. Did anyone found how to get rid of it ? I bought coreplayer yesterday for QTV support, and since it does not work, it is useless for me since TCPMP is working as well as this product without QTV support.
If someone could help me, it would be much appreciated.
Edit : the rtsp protocol does not work either, and I have the same problem as the user on the coreplayer forum : I can no more view rtsp streams with WMP when I uncheck this protocol support in coreplayer. Any help about this too ?
Could someone tell me whether CorePlayer can play audio files using a simple folder-type structure - i.e. just a plain list of files in their folder order, NOT using ID3 album/artist/genre/inside-leg-measurement/etc tags.
What I have at the moment (playing via PocketMusic 4) is just one AUDIO folder on my storage card, and within that there's a PODCAST folder, a RADIO folder and a SONGS folder. These three folders are updated automatically every time I sync my device to my PC so that any newly fetched podcasts, individual song downloads, etc are copied into the three folders silently.
When I launch PocketMusic, it scans the whole AUDIO folder and creates a list of all my MP3 files, showing the podcast files at the top, then radio stuff and finally songs (with each folder's contents neatly sorted alphabetically). Playback returns to the last played item and position by default, which is great for those two-hour podcasts that I can't listen to in one session. Once I've listened to a podcast, I just delete the file via PocketMusic from the device, and the sync program will later delete the PC copy too. All really simple and neat and totally automatic.
I guess the one big downside is that is won't play video podcasts. I've looked at lots of other programs, but nothing else seems to offer this very logical load-list-on-startup and sort by folders facility. Will CorePlayer do this sort of thing?
Andre
Hey! Where the heck to you set 1.2 so that if you put your device to sleep (lock the keys and turn off the backlight) the music continues to play?

Also... Did you follow the other threads here about QTv and what we did to get it to work? But point taken in that we we not 'officially' state QTv support but we will mark it as 'unofficial'.

Ok everyone I know some of you may know about this, and some of you may not, but there is a way to watch Youtube videos on your WM6 device. And no, I'm not talking about the downloading, saving and relaunching way. It works the way it (more or less) should, you click the link and the video plays. Just use these two files that I'm posting for you. Here's all you have to do.
1. If you have a version TCPMP already installed, uninstall it. Then SOFT RESET!!!
2. Install the tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72RC1.cab file
3. Then install the FlashVideoBundle-v1-2.cab file.
4. SOFT RESET
5. Go to youtube and enjoy!
Hope this helps.
Does not work on mine
When trying to play You Tube on my TMO Wing, the windows media player opens and then a box opens with message "Unspecified error".
I get a message about not being able to open the file after I get a warning about a system command that might be harmful to run. It says that the file is not signed with a cleared certificate or that one of the components doesn't exist. It tells me to reinstall the components if the problem continues.
Hmmm, maybe I need to rename some files.
Did a little snooping with the explorer, but could not see any files that could be problematic, like language locked files.

It might be lagging just because the GPRS/Edge network you're on. Try it using a wi-fi connection, if it still lags, then I would suggest a couple of things:
1. Use the Quick Page Pool changer to change your Page Pool to 6MB to free up some RAM
and/or
2. Use Battery Status to overclock your device.
Good luck!

Wow, I thought this was impossible. I've had Flash installed once and it froze the hell out of PIE and Opera. Maybe I'll try these and see what happens.
I should probably also ask what browser you are using? Opera Mini isn't cable of Java and flash right?
**UPDATE** Gave it a shot in Pocket IE ad it says Media file type not supported. I got Tcpmp installed as well, leats I think its a current version.
I'm using IE on wm6.
Hi,
I experienced the same problem with the same configuration.
I think youtube's currently modifiying its way to display the video through
the desktop version of the website.
Unfortunately, the Htc device's owners (maybe the others mobile WM6 owners)
would not be able to display the youtube's video in the future.
I hope it will not the case !
I'm using WM6 with explorer on my xv6800. I removed all other TCPMP and Flash bundle versions and installed the ones that agrif78 provided earlier. Still sadly no dice. I still get the same errors whether I choose "play file" or "save file".
please bookmark this page

then just possibly, we may have fewer posts about youtube and tcpmp
Ok I installed the newest version of vTap This little app will allow you to search specific videos and play them, so if you happen to know the title of a video clip you want to watch, this works great. It also displays the web address of where the video is located and I have successfully played some from the youtube. However it will not allow you to play videos directly from the website.(or at least if it does I have not figured it out, maybe someone could shed some light on that tidbit of info?) In short, you can seek out specific videos by title and watch them, but you still can not watch them directly from your web browser on the youtube site. But at least maybe I can still watch some of my favorite funnies until someone smarter than me comes up with a better solution. I'm pretty new with the whole smartphone and pda scene so if I have left out anything then please feel free to correct me. I hope maybe this has helped out some folks.
sorry about that ekw. I just noticed the post. Thanks for the info!
flash bundle
i got it to work. the main thing is to remember to do a soft reset after installing player and bundle
Help Plz!
plz, i'm installing the flash video bundle on my WM6.1 and i have this error:
Failed to install. Could not install the program or the configuration because it does not have the necessary permissions system.
I have searched the site and found a bunch of threads on viewing you tube vids, however there are so many post edits etc. that I can't follow which .cab etc we are supposed to be using.
I have downloaded that TCMP and the new version of flashget but still no luck.
Can someone that has a tilt please post what they are using and if it works on this thread - many thanks!!!!
I simply go the mobile version of you tube (m.ca.youtube.com). When I click on a video link the HTC Streaming application (which came with my Kaiser) starts up and plays the video. That simple.
Two notes, however;
1) Over my WiFi connection I need to configure my wifi router to put my Kaiser in the "DMZ - Demilitarized Zone" so as to allow full access to the internet. Otherwise the RTSP streaming fails and the HTC Streaming application complains about an inability to access the connection.
2) Streaming doesn't work over GPRS for me. This is most likely due to my cell phone carrier not allowing full internet access (much like when I don't have my WiFi router configured to put my Kaiser in the DMZ).
To use the "proper" YouTube, as opposed to the mobile version, you need these two .cabs:

Follow these steps & pay attention...
Dude, Seriously...You may have read the thread, but you really need to pay attention to what you read. FLASHGET??? FLASH LITE??? Both of these have NO IMPACT on playing flash video.
What you need is:
(A) TCPMP either .72 or .81 (You said you have)
(B) FlasVideoBundle
Instal This:
http://rapidshare.com/files/87945596/FlashVideoBundle.CAB
After installing, make sure that the following files were all copied to the TCPMP root directory (i.e. For .72 \Programs\TCPMP or \Storage Card\Programs\TCPMP or for .81 \Programs\TCPMP\Player):
DiagVL.exe
DisableVL.exe
flvffmpeg.plg
flvsplitter.plg
MenuToggle.exe
VideoLoader.dll
These files must be in the TCPMP directory! It should do it automatically if you use .72. However, for .81 you must copy the files by hand.
After insuring the files have been coppied to the right directory, then launch TCPMP & go to preferences & set the file associations for the flash video, i.e. flv)
Note: without the current version of FlashBundle Youtube will no longer work. I have attached the most current version to the link above.
AND YES, you must use either PIE or (OPERA Mobile 8.65 (NOT MINI) with the macromedia flash player 7).

Dude, excuse the hell out of me...when neither the TCPMP and flashvideo bundle worked - someone suggested flash lite so I installed that as well...I don't think I EVER read where you couldn't use opera mini - thank you to you guys for pointing that out. I will try what you just posted, thanks for taking the time to help someone who obviously "didn't pay attention to what I read"
I can provide some insight, although I really new at this. I installed both cabs and can view all youtube videos through a portal site called ytpocket.com, using the search field at the top. This does not address the larger issue of how to play streaming flash videos from other websites. Specifically, on real youtube, I get the error message "youtube swf args not found" and the title bar of the error message is "VideoLoader." I have no idea what this means.
I also can't get the m.youtube.com site to play videos becuase the Real Player doesn't recognize 3gp files, and my attempts to associate these files with TCMP have apparently failed.
Hope this helps and hope someone smarter than me can solve these two problems! Thanks all.
dt, for the mobile youtube, install htc streaming media
Hey guys
Title says it all
I was wondering, after all the new drivers that have been released and all the discussions has any1 actually been able to use the Kaiser as a decent video player??
Ive been trying, tweaking Core Player, trying different drivers, different setting when i encode etc etc... But i cant get the video to play smoothly! I still get "tearing" between scenes... Its just not a pleasure to watch
Anyone else had more luck of late??
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=357330
So i guess then the short answer is... No??
I see that Core Player has its own codec or whatever it is, meant specially for the Qualcomm CPU, to try and get adequate video performance out of it... But for some reason when i use "video output QTV" i just get a purple block on the screen and audio!!!
Of the remaining options, Directdraw, raw framebuffer and GDI, does any1 know what the pros and cons are? Do any seem to work better than the rest??
Will try the MP4 tip tonight and see if it helps!
I can play YouTube stuff just fine on my Tilt with the newest TCPMP. Haven't tried other stuff yet.

I use coreplayer version 1.2.2 and QTV display driver delivers up to 70% better performance than TCPMP. Try to find a solution to your problem on coreplayer forum.
Where did you get the 70% number from?
Im not sure if this helps...but
I converted a few movies that I had downloaded a while back thru windows media player...I think Pulp Fiction or something. It played just fine. Great video, great audio, good synchronization. Really impressive. All this on AT&T Tilt.
Keep working on it or flash a ROM since most have the support u need to watch the video. Honestly, u would probably benefit from reading the forums for about flashing a ROM than to mess with new codecs and other drivers.
Have u tried downloading TCPMP and core player. Install both. Then open TCPMP in background. Now open ur windows media player and try to play a video.
Now if u can stream videos from ninjavideo.net ur doing better than I
Cheers

There's a benchmark option in coreplayer. Play an avi file first on QTV driver and then on Rawframe buffer you'll see the difference. Than if you're still not convinced you can play the same file in TCPMP on rawframebuffer and compare the results.
Youtube w/ the new manilla 2d works flawlessly for me, as does any .flv i just plop on the phone (without re-encoding). Streaming mobitv is a bit laggy. But other then that my video runs great. For awhile quicksilverscreen was working str8 off the website too. (seems to not be working atm however).
I installed no new video drivers or anything just manilla2d. .flv has always worked since i installed the tmpg stuff.
Yes I Can!!!!
Just installed Core Player 1.25 and it works PERFECTLY!!!!
QTV works in the new ROMs in V1.25 and it plays my videos perfectly! Benchmarking, my frame rates arent much different to the RAW buffer, but the videos visually play better, there is no tearing as scenes change, they look great....
V1.25 does the trick!!!

here is what i think of from the top of my head...qtv is one of the options in the video driver selection in Coreplayer...Coreplayer is the paid version of tcpmp...From my experience, it really smoothens out the transition of scenes in this mode, but it also depends on how the video is encoded I think, coz' the movies I had encoded much earlier which i used with my treo 650 were still choppy even with the qtv display....But my recent acquisition, Ironman, it plays quite flawlessly...
v 1.25 refers to the latest version of Coreplayer, which fixes most of the bugs of earlier version...You can scope it out at corecodec.com, but sadly there is no trial version for it though so if you really want to watch and play videos on your tilt, it might be worth it for you...
As to the youtube videos, you can either:
Buy and use Coreplayer
Download the Youtube player extracted from the opal
Use the recomp version of tcpmp, the orginal won't work on the 6.1 so look for the recomp
Or if you wanna show off a bit on the bus or something, download opera 9.5 and flashlite 3.1, The flash vid will play as a part of the web page....
Did anybody manage to run TCPMP on TD2?
I've tried 0.72RC1 as well as 0.81 version without success. Both crash immediat after start.

What you need is: 0.72RC1 recomp 03
recomp 3 not working either
Thanks for the tip. I've downloaded and installed it. It's starting without crash but it does not work. I hear some audio but display becomes froozen afterwards.
Interesting side effect: Even though the display is froozen through a PC connection using My Mobiler I can see what should be displayed and even control the the dialogs. Only the lower portion of the screen (I guess pix 640 to 800) is blocked.
Well TCPMP is not that good a player, but it can get the job done.
If you like to play high resolution video(About the same res as the screen, 800*480), then theres Coreplayer, or if you rather not pay for a player then you can convert the video and play them using HTCAlbum player(The default one for recorded video).
Have a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3830181&postcount=11
Yes, I would recommend the CorePlayer. Although not the best, it is by far the best player for videos.
If you aren't aware yet, it is actually a commercial version of the same TCPMP with slightly better stuffs like GUI and sorts..
Have you tried it to work?
Regards,
Carty..
Finally I bought CorePlayer license - and it works perfect on TD2.
Not really a cheap solution but I have to admit its a really cool SW.
Thanks anyway
