I have T-Mobile with the Data plan proxy. Problem is when I try to stream from my PC, Core Player 1.2 pops up (my default) and the connecting to MODEM bubble comes up instead of DATA. PIE works fine for the internet, but my streaming from Orb or m.youtube.com doesn't. It does the same thing with WMP. It tries to connect to MODEM, and then it hangs for a few minutes, and says it can't connect.
Isn't it supposed to connect to T-Mo Data for streaming? It worked flawlessly on my Dash and my Cavalier. I can't figure this out. Anyone have the settings so I can stream?

Look for a cab called RvBCrS_HTC_Streaming_Media.cab, or PM me with your email and I will send it.
I'm having problems with Orb also. I don't even know which player to use. I'm using Dutty's 6.1 rom, installed coreplayer tcmp and streaming and non seem to work? Only WMP seems tp play the files and even then its sooo choppy its unbelievable.
Did you change TCPMP's defalut files that it plays?
Thanks pyro, but it's still trying to get online using wifi? I'm using the Data connection. It keeps trying to connect to modem when CorePlayer comes up. Am I missing some settings?
As far a a good player goes, use CorePlayer 1.2, it has Qtv and works great.

I've been trying to get orb to work with CorePlayer 1.2 but all that happens is the program locks for about 10 mins and then it returns the error that WMV9 is not supported and that there is an audio codec error. Then the programs shuts down. Anybody have similar issues? Any known remedies. Also in the orb stream options i choose to transcode to Windows media is this correct or shall i use something else?
TIA

I second that. I had to go back to TCPMP.
TCMP wasnt working for me either wat setup did you use?
tcpmp works fine for streaming... you just have to go into the file associations page and check asf, avi, http, etc...
in orb, you'll need to go into settings->streaming and make sure you are using windows media. by default, orb uses flash.
w/ my 3ghz p4, the picture quality is really good even @ 80kbps ( what I use with Edge for non-buffering video )
sdp picture quality is pretty bad. lol 'n right now, my kaiser w/ htc's streaming app doesn't even connect w/ the new AT&T rom.
Just wondering if you've played around with the buffering option, cause i cant get it to work over wifi. It plays but is soo choppy its un watchable
It still tries to connect over the tmodem connection. IDK if it is supposed to do that. I even hard reset. Does anyone know what settings to use? I have the 5.99 data plan. For internet it still uses the data connection, WTF?
I have streaming media cab, checked all file associations in coreplayer, made sure that orb is streaming in WMV. IDK, maybe we can't stream on data connection on the Tilt? Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I did all of the above, and it still doesn't work.

Most of you already know TVU Player for PC (Streaming TV) but maybe you don't know there is a version for Mobile.

On my Kaiser buffering doesn't start...if you are interested in TV streaming please try and give me a feedback.
Thanks

Like I didn't know that
But it seems to be very little info on how to configure and run TVUMobile.
Even that video on youtube has no sound. ANd there is nothing on the TVU web site to that effect.
I got it working.
Before I tried with USB connection to XP PC.
It was not working then.
Now I tried it with WiFi connection and it work.
Starts buffering and later starts the media player.
Picture quality is quite good.
Thanks for the sweet app.

Thank you my Friend.
Did you try over HSDPA?
I know there are a few apps that connect the phone to the PC e.g.
My PhonePC, RDC, RealVNC etc.
May I know which one you can listen to "sound" on the phone (sound from the phone) which you play from PC (music from PC)?
I tried RDC, its fast but no sound.
I tried RealVNC, its quite laggy and no sound as well.
I tried Gremote, its only a remote control.
Any suggestion?
I think I can remember, that GRemote do this.

thanks, just tried but thats not really what i want.
What i want is, an app where I can use my phone to remotely control my PC on desktop and so that I can listen to music using my phone (sounds from my phone), from the songs thats are being stored on my PC, or even to movies.
anyone?
ok, just found out that Gmote plays streaming music just fine.
any app that plays streaming movie from my own pc?
streamed video will actually not work, cuz of network bandwidth and hero's processor .. or at least the quality would be really bad

what exactly is your problem ? If streaming audio/video to your phone, VNC/RDP is really not the right way ...

I managed to use gmote to stream audio (from my PC) to my phone
just wondering if there are any app that can do streaming video from my PC as well. thats all.
I have not heard anything other than Gmote.
So back in high school I used setup a simple HTTP server that allowed me to browse my music on the schools computers and play it there through VLC player. I figure since I have 160GB of music (way more than I can fit on my phone) I could probably do the same thing, but the problem I'm facing is what app would I use to browse the music?
Any ideas on how I could do this? Over the 3G network it should be ok, at least no worse than pandora and I would have access to all of my music.
Have a look at orb.. you can set it up to stream your entire media library to your device (even videos). It will auto-encode to a supported format and adapt the bit rate to your network speed. It's pretty sexual.
http://orb.com/
go get GMote, best app I've seen yet, works over wifi and 3G/Edge.
Another one for gmote.
Yet another vote for gmote here.
Gmote does not auto convert and will not play .avi. I use it exclusively for music, but I have never been able to get the video to play on my phone.

I saw that. I was responding to the post about Orb. My music works flawlessly on gmote whether I am using wifi or 3g. I definitely give it 3 thumbs up.
Anyone uses this?
We all have gigs of mp3's on our PC's and I found only one app which can simply stream music, using wireless router for connection - Gmote. So this way I plug in my headphones and can listen to anything on my PC from anywhere in the house.
Sadly, it seems that it isn't developing anymore and a lot of my music is encoded in a way that Gmote doesn't like. I think it has problems with variable higher bitrates, maybe.. not sure.
Is there anything else that can do the job? DLNA maybe?
You can easy convert al your MP3-files to a right format.
http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html
Let your computer do the job at night, and in the morning you're a smiling human
No way, that would permanently lower sound quality . And PC is also connected to hi-fi
I'd rather find an app that works like it should . DLNA could be beter option, that way PC would recode music on-the-fly, just for listening on Hero. Ill try 2Player, looks promising
u never heard of orb or sugersync or oh there are tooo many to list
Not really the same thing. SugarSync uses "personal cloud", so it's over internet and Gmote uses home network which is free, fast and local. No upload/download.
As far as I remember, Orb was for internet radio? Can't find it on AppBrain.
Anyway, 2Player works with Tversity as DLNA server. Music only. Good to know
Hello,
I would like to be able to play HD 720p movies on my SGN over wifi network, but even though I'm using the "n" standard I only get "signal to weak" message (even standing near my router). Standard 480p videos play ok. The strange thing is that I'm able to play 720p videos from SGN on my computer (even though they are not fluid - but maybe it's codec thing...)
Anyone could recommend something or had similar experience with hd videos?
Thanks
720p and 1080p works fine here. What's your network speed?
are you talking about dlna? ive tried streaming 720p videos to a LG tv. Lags at the start for like 10 sec but then its just normal. works great imo =)

You're talking about playing video on SGN or on TV? My laptop connects to router at 280-300Mb/s and SGN gets max 65Mb/s.

Wow LAN mode on this app really kicks ass! I was able to play 720p and even 1080p over wifi without any problem! And it's so easy to setup too I wonder why Allshare doesn't work this way Thanks for the tip man!
Good morning all,
I have one annoying problem.
Consider following scenario:
I open through LAN Mode or ES File Explorer a .mkv file direct from my home machine. This is done over WiFi Dongle. In other words - i stream video from my local machine over to my Samsung Galaxy Note. What is happening is that after a few minutes the picture and the sound freezes. I have to close BS Player, close ES File Explorer and open the video again. This is happening with all kind of videos. Even 1080p are played butter smooth but it freezes every 4-5-6 minutes.
I've tested with a laptop - no such problem.
Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? I'm using BS Player Lite.

It looks to me that your wifi dongle can't maintain stable signal. Try searching for new drivers for it.

That is the problem with the cache I guess, either ES or BS are not able to handle the huge memory size of 720/1080P. Try MX Player.
