I didn't try it with the AT&T ROM but with HTC ROM, it will ask if you want to configure the data settings for Tmobile as soon as it detects the Tmobile SIM card.
thanks, but i'm using the atnt rom for right now, so if anybody has those settings i'd appreciate it, thanks
omar
i also have my tilt unlocked and when i put in a tmobiel sim it does ask if i want to reconfigure ....but of course thats for htc rom....so i would advise to flash if you can not find a way to use your tzone
so are you using the 5.99 plan with htc rom?
i also have a Unlocked Tilt on T-Mobile any way to get data to work with out a ROM MOD
start>settings>connections>connections
under proxy settings check: this network connects to the internet
check this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet
proxy server should be :216.155.165.50
click advanced

under modem, your access point name should be : wap.voicestream.com
name and password blank.
under advanced check use server assigned ip address
use software compression
use ip header compression.
hope this works for you, i forget which order to do it.

It's significantly faster if you use the internet3 vpn apn.
I'm curious...does anyone see speed differences with "use software compression
use ip header compression. " enabled or disabled? Seems the same to me.
oh i was referring the slow internet to the tmobiles $5.99 plan...
i know they have a $20 a month plan for the smart phones, obviously that one better be fast for that kind of price....

I used to have the unlimited data plan.... IT was always slow for me, same as tzones, but for the price......
I'd pay the money for speed.
tmobiles data connection sucks...but if u have an unlocked att tilt an uur using tmobile service like me...u need 2 use this connnection setup wizard to configure ur att tilt for tmobiles data connection. I personally won't pay for internet, especially tmobiles ****ty edge internet for 29.99 unlimited plan...I use wifi religiously and its way faster then edge..and free. Wireless in my house is connected to a cable modem and it is quick.
...anywayz here u go

here just install this cab and then go to settings, connections, connections, advanced, select networks and set them both to T-Mobile US and ur good to go

How do you disable GPRS default?

Hi guys,
I have just bought a MDA Vario 3 on T-Mobile UK and even though my wireless connection is setup it tries to connect through GPRS to the internet which costs me money.
How do I disable this so hopefully it will connect to my wireless network instead?
Regards, Ian.

Kaiser Tweaks and MoDaCo_NoData.CAB will do it.

Setting up the internet...

Ok im confused do i get the Hotspot or the BlackBerry Unlimited Add-on for my tilt phone to get the internet to work
Well, since XDA-Developers is NOT your wireless provider, you might want to search.
1.Do you have the feature added to your account?
2.what rom are you using
3.did you search the forum

Bear in mind that each network calls their service something different, what you really want to be asking (I think, based upon your statement) is do I select wifi or GPRS/3g/HSDPA. Wifi (hotspot) coverage isnt really going to help you unless you only want internet connection in certain places.
GPRS/3G/HSDPA is for mobile internet browsing/email retrieval etc, and thats probably more along the lines of what you want.

RDP cannot connect over GPRS

Hi all - got a Kaiser last week, learned a ton from reading the forums. I've searched and searched but can't find anyone with this particular problem.
Using RDM 6.1 I can connect no problem over wifi or HSDPA but as soon as my phone switches over to GPRS the connection dies. Or if I'm connected over GPRS it won't even start the connection.
Can this really be a bandwidth/speed issue? With my old Treo 680 (only capable of GPRS) I could use RDP.
Any thoughts?
Was the treo on another carriers network?
Hi Chumley - yeah, same carrier. Rogers in Canada.
I'm thinking I'll have to try other clients to see if the problem still exists. Problem is I can't install anything on the server side (locked down work server) so I'm limited to regular RDP.
Cheers,
Matt

Opera mobile connection settings

Hi,
I have downloaded Opera mobile but it will only use wifi to connect and I cannot see any other way to make it use GPRS, any ideas?
Anyone got any ideas?
i have the same problem on my Samsung BT-7330 with Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard
Well i got mine working in the end. I installed when connected to wifi and i think that did it but not 100% on that.
