HTC Home Wifi On/off item - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Does anyone know how to add a new item to HTC Home to quickly turn on/off the wifi?
Thanks!
Tom

Why not use the Comm Manager? You can change what is controlled via the Comm Manager with Schap's Advanced Config tool.
You can also enable the wireless controller on the Today screen via KaiserTweak.

Seconded.
The only thing it lacks is 3G/GPRS toggle. But Wifi/Bluetooth and Phone Radio toggles are 2 taps from anywhere (App or Today)

I've attached AE Wifi Trigger.
No need to install. Just place where you want it, and make a schortcut to your Start Menu.

Comm/Wireless Manager not button assignable??

As a former Tytn/8525 user, I enjoyed the one button access to the Comm Manager. I used it all the time to limit my power costly modes.
So I installed Spb's Pocket Plus for the Button assignment capabilities. But the default Comm Manager page does not show up as an application when I go to assign the buttons. Several of the 6 Button .cabs on the Kaiser .cab page DO show up.
So my problem is, I wan't to use duttythroy's 10 button black 3g comm manager .cab, which by far is the best and the WiFi switch works, but it also does not show up as an assignable application for a button.
What can be done to accomplish this?
Thanks for any suggestions!
rd
by default, the AT&T rom hid the comm manager from the start menu. You need to add the application's shortcut to the startmenu before you can assign the button. Go into the windows directory and find commmanager.exe and make a shortcut (on your start menu/programs) to this app. Then you can map the app to a button.
if you are using a non-default comm manager, then exe is probably named commmanagerlink.exe

Assigning Hotkeys on the Kaiser

Hi,
I am trying to find a way of assigning the hardware key to launch the backlight application. Preferably the button the the top left of the device which is currently used for the voice speed dial.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Ronan
I changed mine from Voice Dial to Comm Manager by going to the button icon in settings and there is a list there, Im not sure what programs are on there but its a start.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice, unfortunately the backlight option is not on this menu. I wonder if it is possible to add it via registry entry or some other means.
Ronan
hmm i kno there is some kind of "display off" program u can find, then u can go under the buttons settings and select that program to be under a certain button... see if u can find it, ill try and find a link for it and send it to ya.

quick way of getting to comm screen?

Hey,
is there a quick way of getting to the comm screen? for example every time i wanna turn wifi on/off, i have to click on one of the icons at the top of the screen, select an option (i.e radio) and then wait for the popup to come up asking if i want to goto the comm screen
is there a quicker/easier way of doing this?
I know the throttlelauncher software does have a comm manager tab, but for the time being i want to use the standard touchflo screens
Add a link in your TF3D programs to the comm manager, like in upper left side
Why not put the comm manager in your programs shortcut.
Slide/Swipe to programs.. and then Tap on Comm Manager Icon
Alternatively, you could edit the registry and have Comm Manager as one of the soft keys appearing on the home screen

[Q] Best Task Manager?

I just got my Fuze last week and I have seen TONS of awesome threads (thanks XDA!) but I haven't come across anything solid to replace the task manager that came with the stock rom (I haven't installed a new rom because there isn't one that jumps out at me). I had Celetask on my Dash and loved it. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations? While Celetask was awesome on the Dash, I don't really feel like paying for the English PPC version.
I'm using HandySwitcher.
How do you disable the stock one?
Looks like I am just going to have to live with it.

You can shut it off by going to Settings > System > Task Manager > Button. Uncheck both boxes and then you can install a variety of other task managers.
I am using Implicit Software's Task Manager and Switcher. I really like on my Fuze because I have a little button at the top of each screen that let's me switch to any open app. There is also the 3D task manager which you can assign to a hardware button and it will rotate to each task.
I use pBar - it's a great little task manager.
I personally like Wktask. It's light and very functional. You can set it to a hardware button (which can't be done with HTC X-button) and bring up a quicklauncher menu with things like Close, Close All, Toggle Data Conn, and programs from Start Menu.
WkTask is the best with no contest.... http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
And I see they have a new version out!!!
WkTask gives you running application buttons to your start bar, like in your normal windows pc. And thats among other things and functions it does....
Ditto for WkTask

I second that. I'm also using HandySwitcher and it's really good!

Does it actually work on your Touch Pro? I tried it and it slowed TF3D to a crawl.
I think WkTask is the best! Usr it my self

I like Wktask, but it has a strange quirk to it when TF2D or TF3D is enabled. In the task bar, there is a generic window icon that I can't seem to remove or hide when Wktask is enabled. Does anybody else have this problem?

A while back, i started off with the HTC Task Manager and then switched to Wisbar Lite. With HTC's neweset Task Manager, i went with it instead of Wisbar Lite.
Are there any finger-friendly solutions other than the HTC manager?
WKTask's built in brightness control doesn't work on Raphael, at least not when I tested a few weeks back. Anybody have luck getting that to work?
EDIT: version 1200a brightness control works!

OT Is anybody else as weirded out as I am by the Charlie Manson avatar Loco5150 has? OT
I am torn at which TM to use now, I guess I'll try them all and see how it goes!

Looking for simple Bluetooth on/off switch or button

Hiya,
I find it really annoying to go all the way to comm manager and switch bluetooth on when I jump in my car. (And face it, keeping bluetooth on drains battery like crazy)
I'm looking for a simple program that let's me switch between bluetooth "on" and "off" with a single touch. And it needs to be on the today screen or next to the windows/start button.
Anyone know such a program? Tnx in advance
kind regards,
Mark
I use this freeware for XPERIA here:

Works well for TouchPro.
I use bt toggle. You can put a shortcut in your start menu and you're two taps away from turning on/off bluetooth. Alternitavely, you can create a voice tag. It's a tiny program and it works great.

Haven't tried the others, but I stopped with this one. It's very cool, opens nothing and is literally one single press to turn it on.
I use SBSH PhoneWeaver, then I have big buttons for Phone, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPRS connection on/off right on the home screen (I don't use TF3D).
Found AEBPlus. It works great. Assigned pressing "hang up button" 3 times to switch bluetooth on/off. http://ae.inc.ru/aebplus.php And it doesn't use up that much memory.
i used to have the simple shortcuts to simple programs in my program tab
but if you download the diamond action screen it has shortcuts to texts, email, notes, tasks, wifi, bluetooth and others and its real simple i just put it as softkey on main menu

I try it is very good for every thing
Bluetooth on off
Wi Fi on of
Phone reboot , off , screen off
all buttons you have you can make it single press , double , triple , long
So you have for each button 4 function.
Thank you man for telling about this
I just have the HTC Action screen assigned to the left softkey. Pretty easy and fast
This exefile can do lot of things, mainly toggle between off/discoverable(all apps toggles only between on/off). It's enough just to write some commandline parameters into shortcut, while parameter "bsd" is for toggle off/discoverable.
Another thing I made,is the basehue changer while bluetooth is active,so while is off,all it's black, when any other state is,basehue changes to blue. It polls each second to get the state. It's a mortscript file, you can copy into the startup folder.
Enjoy.
