Hi all, on my previous HTC Wizard the side slider would control the volume of callers when on a call. During an incoming call if I needed to mute the ringtone, a quick slide of it would do that too. In fact all mobiles I know will mute an incoming call ringtone by pressing volume up/down.
But how are either of these two features possible on the Kaiser?
hmmmm..my scrollwheel does control the call volume
thats wierd, even on a stock rom tilt you can use the scroller for volume during call.

Do you actually own a Kaiser? or are you just asking how it works?
as both these features you have mentioned work fine on the Kaiser's scroll wheel.
Okay I am starting to get to the bottom of this. I do own a Kaiser, but have the HTC Enlarge Title Bar app installed. This was a very useful app that made finger usage easier. When you tap say the volume icon, it produced a large bubble with bigger icons for volume, data, phone, etc.
I have uninstalled it and the scroll wheel does now change volume during a call. Before, just the bubble would pop up! Shame, as it was an otherwise nice app.
BUT, I still cannot mute an incoming call ringtone like all other phones allow you to. Any ideas on that one?

Mine mute's with the wheel.
Not muting by wheel..
I have the exact same problem; cannot silence the ringtone by using the scrollwheel, worked perfectly on default ROM...
Maybe has something to do with S2U2? (Cause i didn't have it on the previous ROM)...
Any clues would be nice!
I already posted the solution above. It does now seem to also silence the ringtone if you uninstall the Title Bar app.

i wanted to know if there was a way to lower the volume when im dialing the number. its as if my speaker is about to blow when im trying to dial a number. anyone know the registry edit?
Never did get a sloution for this, except by covering the speaker with my finger
Would be interested to know if there's reg hack, then we could pass it to the Kaiser Tweak guys!
There may be 3 ways to improve your situation.
The first would be to change from long tones to short tones. This wont reduce the volume, but if you have it set on long, it will shorten the amount of time the tone is emitted.
(Phone>Menu>Options> then change keypad to short tones)
The secdond would be to do the same as above, but to change it to "Nothing"
The third would be to turn t vibrate using KaiserTweak (a great app by the genii of xda-dev.com) where there is a setting to change the phone keypresses from tones to vibrate (KaiserTweak: Call > Dialer Button Behaviour"
u can also click on the speaker icon and bring down the volume for the mobile icon. but this will reduce the overall volume of ur device.

i dont have this option on my kaiser tweak
make sure u update your xml file, provided by nikagl
i have the one from dec. 9 and even on his post under calls it doesnt show a Call > Dialer Button Behaviour"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=349009
thats the latest, and i just checked there is no dialer button behavior.
Only solution i can think of is that you would need to turn down the system volume, since it is a system sound. However, you can try searching for the dialer sounds, modifying them with a sound editor(decrease the amp, or something like that.) so you can keep your system volume up, while dialer doesnt deafen you.

If you looks through the Kaiser Tweaks thread, it's in there. Not in the actual xml thread, but in the one where you post questions. You could try searching vibrating keypad and variations of the like. He actually made an xml file for it, and it's posted in that thread, he just didn't include it in the official release.
I tried it out, and it seemed to work fine. Like a dummy, I stopped using it, because I thought it would no longer work with automated systems (like checking voicemail etc.) but then I realized the sound I hear has nothing to do with the info transmitted by the phone lol, so I may have to give it another try.
i found the right XML file with more tweaks than i had...for those that want it here it is
Lovely - I hadn't noticed the Tweak update - All quiet now!
I noticed that despite changing in call volume settings and system volume settings, the volumes are linked together.
Has this always been the way? I seem to recall my WM6 phone (Hermes) remembering in call volumes and keeping it seperate from the system volume -but I may be wrong.
I want to lower my in call volume, but the hardware volume buttons don't seem to make that much of a differnce - and not to mention they adjust the system volume as well.
I have read through all the other volume related threads I can find. I think this is the first time someone actually wants to lower the diamond's earpiece volume!
Effectively you have 3 volumes. Unless you are in a call then the volume buttons only give you access to the system and ring volumes. As far as I know you can only adjust the in call volume in call (there will be a registry option also but I don't know where sorry).
Anyway when you start your call before you put the phone to your ear (and the screen goes off) press volume up or down and it will change your call volume.
I figured out what it was... it was due to me disabling the diamond phone skin.
You lose volume functionality.
And if the settings is "silent", even the music player, via earphones, is silent?

Can you elaborate?
I've disabled the Diamond skin yet I am able to independently adjust the in-call volume... in-call. System/ringer volume is adjustable at all other times.

If you disable the diamond dialer skin and have HTC volume control enabled you will not be able to alter the in call volume. To adjust in call volume using default windows dialer skin you also have to disable HTC volume control.
Ah, yes, I do seem to recall having disabled the HTC Volume too with DiamondTweak.

Hi guys,
I do not want to use "Diamond dialer Skin" because of the S2U2, so I have disable it. However, there is no way to alter the in call volume (I have activate and deactivate HTC volume control with Diamond Tweaker, but no way).
Any help?
Thanks in advance
No one has solve this trouble? It is making me crazy!
Why does the dialler skin interefere with S2U2?

Each time a call is incoming, in the first few seconds the dialler skin appears. After that, the normal S2U2 screen appears again (with "slide to answer"...). If you touch accidentally the option "Answer" of the dialler skin by accident in these few seconds, it will answer the call.
I have added something in the registry (to be honest, I can not remember right now) that it was supposed to fix this trouble, but no way...

Does that mean the volume buttons will no longer work during a call but you will get a volume adjuster on the screen...or will the volume buttons still change the in call volume. dont know about anyone else but I find the volume buttons a bit too fiddly and 'sunk' too far...probably nicer to look at though...
I mean that the volume buttons will not work any more. The only way they work in my Diamond is activating "Diamond Dialer Skin", but with this, I get the S2U2 problem...

I've disabled phone skin too... and have the same problem. Hard to find the good key in the registry!
Some help are welcome!

It is not a big problem, but it is making me crazy...
try this regkey
I maxed up my in call volume, and found this DWORD regkey to be changing to FFFFFFFF (8 F's hex value).
Can you try?
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\ShellOverrides\SavedInCallVolume

Thank you very much for the answer.
Anyway, I do know how to configure the volume (I use a "Profiles" software that can adjust the volume). The point is to be able to change the in call volume during the call.
To be honest, I can hardly believe that no one has deactivate "Diamond Skin Phone" and had no trouble with this
I'm using the dialer skin, but when i am talking with someone, adjusting the volume up/down, it always reset it to lowest. Any advice?
hi!
I have a small wish:
I would like to avoid that people in my office hear when I dial a number in the sound Normal profile.
If I go to Settings/sounds and try to diminuish the System Volume (on the bottom of the screen) also the Rings volume will change?
If I use the Vibrate profile, fine no problem there is no sound. But that is not what I would like..
Maybe you have an Idea

Hey, if you use the volume rocker on the side you have the option to decrease the system volume and ring volume.
So decrease the volume on the rocker and then look at the top of the screen... click "System" and decrease the volume to zero.
Hope that helps

If you just wanna turn off the sound when dialing a number go to settings => personal => phone. There you you should find an option to change the behaviour when using th edial pad (nothing, vibrate, short sound etc)
May be this helps
in Homescreen - Phone / Options / Phone bookmark / Keypad: Off
Why are u starting the same threat 3 times ?!
I've done some searching but I'm really not sure what it's called, so all my results have come up with nothing.
I just want the volume control from wm6.1, where you press the volume icon and it brings up all the notifications such as the volume icon, Edge/3G, your phone signal, and battery. Usually it brings up 4 icons.
Most wm6.5 roms now have this new htc "notifications." The only problem with it is you can't adjust your volume anymore by pressing the volume icon, you need to map the volume to a different button.
I just installed m2d on mine, and can't adjust in call volume anymore. When I scroll the wheel during a call, it just adjusts system, and ring volume, never changing in call volume. It is so loud during the call I set the phone during a call and listen from 5 feet away. So I would be interested in this as well, it would be nice to go back to the stock volume control via a .cab file.
Think your asking for Large Title Bar..... I'm not sure you can have Large Title Bar with the new notifications?
Atached is VoluPOP it installs to Windows & Places a .lnk in Start Menu/Programs so you can map it if wish?

boss1234, in the latest PDAcorner (august 11th) the in call volume problem has been fixed. alternatively, you could do what mrdiavolo did to fix the problem and install Mega Canvas:
