Whenever I call someone now these buttons are stuck glowing (as though they are in the process of being pressed)
It's really ugly/annoying. When you press them there is no longer an animation, it just glows constantly - although they still work.
Full functionality while in horizontal mode though. Weird.
Anyone help? I searched the forums first...couldn't find anything...Thanks!
ANYONE? f
Any reason why you're bumping this thread and not asking in Dutty's thread?
Many others have installed Dutty's ROMs, so I'm sure that if you were to ask there, you're likely to get a faster response or you could actually READ that thread, the answers may alread be there.

Somebody told me that I shouldn't ask in the WM 6 Thread - ok, here's a dedicated one. Hope that's ok.
My Wizard bothers me - it turns itself on (while it's turned of) every 1 - 5 minutes when the memory card is inserted. Is it just me or does anyone of you have the same problem (and a solution??).
I'm running Orwells1984 on a G3.
Sry for this new account but i've lost the pwd for my old one.
that question has been asked and addressed in the same thread "someone" told you not to post in.
whats going on lately with all simple questions. its like more than usual now.
please people, read and search before you ask questions that have been answered a million times.
ok, thanks for your answer but i'm a bit confused ... someone tells me 'dont ask here' (while i obviously was in the correct thread) ... another one tells me that the answer already exists in the thread where i placed the question ... hey, i don't want to post spam threads and i've already used the search function (but i wasn't able to find something regarding my issue). but, guys - it's better to give a hint (thx hiimcliff) than giving senseless answers (someone).

i'm not flamming. don't get me wrong. its just better to ask that quesiton in the same thread than to spam the board with the same type of threads.
i think this subsection needs a mod though. honestly.
hey hiimcliff ... you're totally right (and i tried to explain that in my previous answer). ppl should turn on their brain before opening threads AND they should use the search function. absolutely d'accord. when you look into the wm6 rom for wizard thread, you'll see that i posted this question initially there - until someone told me that this is the wrong place ... that's the thing that made me confused .
but now ... still looking for the right answer regarding my prob ...

From what I've read, this is a know issue with the 1984 rom. I don't recall anyone coming up with a fix for it. Most just use one of the PDAviet roms - version 4 seems to do the trick.
I'm seeing the same behavior on pdaviet3. I think it may be related to Windows Live sync and/or the Windows Live today screen item but I'm not quite sure yet.

Uncheck Settings->System->Backlight->BatteryPower->Turn off backlight if device isnt used for ... min
And check Settings->System->Power->advanced->Turn off device if not used for ... min (In battery section)
After that Wizard will not turn on constantly.
btw Its not just WM6 issue, i had that on all AKU 3.x.
Changing the settings solved the problem. Thanks vasp205! Another solution is to lock the device.
im stuck on the red green blue and white screen on my tmobile mda and it wont do nothing else after i turn it off and on..anyone can help me with that?

You can try a hard reset, holding in the com manager and voice recorder buttons and hit the reset. (Read the WIKI).
You will lose your data and settings, but you may recover the phone.
You could also help by telling us how you got into that state.
read this thread G3.2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298613
Please don't post the same question in 2 different threads. Use the search button, read the stickies, this is one of the most common questions here at xda...do some research, you'll learn so much about your device, it will be worth it.
Mine is also stuck, and I created a new thread about it. I have tried different recovery theories with no luck though.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340965 is the post. When searching I only found 1 thread appropriate, however I think I was searching only the WM6 thread, and that was my problem. I even originally created the thread in the WM6 category.

Greets,
I am running a tilt with stock AT&T roms, but with the bloatware avoided through the timely soft reset.
I am wondering ... can I replace the home screen if I don't flash to a cooked ROM? If so, how?
Thanks!
if by "home" you mean "today" screen, then yes. simply by adding any today screen plugin.
a few things for you to search for:
start|settings|personal|today|items
HTC Home
SPB plus
HTC Homeplug
there's a good start for you
Tried ... Failed ... Help?
Greets,
I attempted to install HTC Home on my stock AT&T Tilt. It did install (confirmed by the fact that when I saw no evidence of it running, I tried to reinstall, and it told me it was already installed).
This still leaves me with my same old screen (except now, the orientation icon changed to a battery with a question mark on it).
Once installed on a stock AT&T Tilt, how do I run HTC Home to replace my main screen?
Thanks!
Changing the Today Screen options is explained in the book that came with your phone called a manual.
jgermuga - Interesting (not to be confused with helpful) response.
Had the presence of mind to check to see if your prior posts were also obnoxious ... not surprisingly, many are. Needless to say, I will not be responding further to anything you might care to characteristically come back with.
Great having you here - you clearly bring a lot to the table.
Start -> Settings -> Today Screen
I guess it may be possible that jgermuga was a bit snide but I can't really blame him/her.
Check your manual, do a search, or try to make your question more understandable.
If you want to change your Today screen, try this link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/articles/softwaretips/personalize.mspx
It may be one of the most basic things to do on the PDA. How did you find us anyway?????
No good ...
I respectfully disagree! I do my fair share of answering questions on forums and the usenet, as well as those that come to me via email. I have NEVER been insulting or snide with people who ask questions. If they ask, they are hoping to get an answer, and very little is as disheartenening as learning that someone has posted a reply, only to see that it wasn't a (useful) reply at all.
One can spend their brain cycles coming back with a clever snide statement which does not help at all (and feel morally superior for the wit) or one can be helpful and answer the question. Since this is a forum, and people search for responses, the snide answer only provides a dead end for everyone who may seek help in the future.
So to those who actually answered the question, thank you VERY much.
In my case here, the provided answers did not work, but perhaps I asked the wrong question. I will need to look into this further.
As much time as you have wasted writing long and pointless replies, you could've read your manual and had your question answered already. Trust me - sit down with your phone and your manual and a beer or two and go through every page. I have done that with every phone I have owned and I learned a LOT of interesting little details that I wouldn't have known otherwise.

I agree. I've been using a PocketPC for over 5 years, and I still take the time to read over every manual. I always find a cool function for a button that I didn't know about, or something new about the OS that was changed, etc.
Hey i have no idea what happened but i tried putting the touch it on to My phone after the hardspl was put in but now it is not even starting up it is only staying at the CanonYang start up screen can you help me or did i brick it
try booting your phone into the boot loader and then reflash another or the same rom to it. My kaiser did the exact same thing to me using the newly released "Official Tilt Rom" off of the HTC website. I lost my information but at least I was able to put on a different rom. Hopefully this helps.
How???
HOw do i do that because the phone is only starting up to the like "welcome screen" of Canon Yang?
Look in the xda wiki to find your phone or variant. On the kaiser you do a soft reset using the stylus and hold down the camera button until you see the 3 colored lines. Other phones are different so don't forget about checking that wiki. I never knew what it was until a while ago when someone explained it all to me and then showed me. There should be a link on top of your page or on the side that says XDA-Wiki. They even have pictures of your phone if you do not know what it is since companies use the same phone and release it with thier own name. Hence the ATT Tile is a variant of the HTC Kaiser. I hope this helps.

I think posting ONCE, in ONE forum should suffice... not spamming all three.

I agree. All the Herald forums have this same new thread. Isn't one enough?
Davenumber, you can edit your preferences under the quicklinks drop down menu on top of your page. Edit your profile and tell it to send you an E-mail as soon as someone responds to your thread. This will allow you to get notified as soon as someone responds and you will not have to post in multiple forums. Best of luck. Let me know what happens.
Yeah but the thing is
The problem is the phone wont even start up it stays on the Canon Yang screen (like when you restart or start up the phone). so yeah i am kinda thinking it is bricked
unbrick it with the RUU.
If you're coming up to a canonyang screen, it would appear that hardspl worked ... so You should be able to flash any rom you want from bootloader.
Hi all!
I have two phones - one in my car and one in my pocket. I've been noticing that a lot of people only wait for like one ring (on my diamond) before hanging up, so I figured I should compare with my car phone with a twin SIM. Now, the car phone will ring for almost 20-25 seconds before the diamond starts, and I can only have a 30 sec delay before the call goes to voice mail.
Anyone else noticed this? HTC tech support told me to do a hard reset, but since I've already done two of those in the last week I doubt that'll do much for me.
I'd appreciate any help!
Cheers

There's been various threads on this particular issue... although the delays most people experience are in the "up to 3 seconds" mark.. Apparently a 1-2 second delay is normal for windows - whereas you say the delay in yours is 20-25 seconds!
You may want to check the size of your ringtone file to see if it's too big or;
Also, have a look here to see if there's anything that might help....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109
(also, do a search and check out the other threads relating to this topic)
You haven't told us what ROM you're using, but if nothing else works and you're confident in following instructions, there's a sticky thread in the "....Diamond ROMs ...." section of this forum that goes through step by step on how to flash you're ROM with a nicely cooked version, courtesy of the hard-working chefs.... (just a reminder that you do this at your own risk - but it's not as scary as it seems!)
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the reply, and sorry about not mentioning the ROM version I'm running. It's actually a Panosha (sp?) 2.0 with one of the newer radios. I already tried the "long wav fix" but to no avail, so I'm actually thinking about flashing it back to stock to see if that fixes it :S
Cheers!
Just install the WM5 patch you can find on this forum. It solved the issue for me. No anymore delay..
