Hi!
I've allready tried some ROMs on my BA (xplode wm6.1 and so on), but i have problems with bluetooth. I can't get my BA working with tomtom 6 and my Nokia LD-3W gps mouse. I also have problems sending stuff through bluetooth (for example contacts from my mobile phone). On wm2003 everything works fine. But I don't want the wm2003.
please help me!
try updating your bt stack to latest version. should be able to find it in the ba wiki
I've got the latest BT stack allready...
I had a similar problem with my Haicom BT GPS mouse when set up according to the instructions in the wiki.
Removing the "secure connection" to the mouse my problems with GPS went away.
As I normally don't use BT for anything else I can't comment on other bt problems.
When you install xplode rom install his all fixes cab files it will fix BT wifi contacts and beam
The xplode ROM is the one I love
(failing that I drop back to the o2 distribution 2003 ROM.

I am struggling to use my SonyEricsson HBH 35 Headset with my Tmobile MDAIII. But after a while the BT Stack stops working and I have to turn BT on and off to be able to use the headset again. Tmobile Service Line told me that they are aware of the problem and they will post a fix for that but no time frame was giving. Therefore I was wondering whether the latest Imate PDA2k Rom was having the same BT problems. Which version of BT stack is on this rom? Is it possible to copy the necessary files onto the MDA III and make it work with the never version?
PDA2K has the same issues with the BT Stack. In fcat it is just awful.

Hell, its worse than 'just awful'....
...The Bluetooth on the PDA2K is just downright unusable.....
...I am still holding my breath, praying to GOD they get a real fix out and not just a 'here ya go' patch with more problems in it......
BT version... MDA III new ROM
I would like to know which version of the BT you guys have = which is most current for MDA III. To verify this go to settings/connection/bluetooth an check in About .
I have heard some news that ROM 1.20 is being tested internally, and somebody promised me to provide it to me. I am really waiting.. as current one keeps turning on device every minute...
have a hcb-30 bluetooth carkit that worked great with my Qtek 2020, but i cannot seem to get it to work with my qtek 9090....it finds the qtek allright and pairs with it, but cannot connect....my bluetooth version is 1.0.0 build 2200...
hope they get a fix out soon...

You may tried that DON'T PAIR the HBH35, Afterwards, use a Bluetooth connection wizard to add it. This may be OK to add HBH35.
I don't know how those incompetent idiots could release the blueangel with such a obvious bluetooth problem, HOW CAN THEY NOT see it! the error messeges pops up so frequently.
Go for it, version 1.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?p=65548#65548
I couldnt get 1.5 to work on my pda2k, cant overwrite certain files... how did you do it?
I didn't do it as i don't have a BT headset yet. because of these treads I'm waiting before i get the headset, gps, and keyboard for bluetooth

you don't have it yet and you are telling other people to go for it! i dont think it works for the pda2k
Did you read or post first?????????????????
As you can see Guest and firebird say it worked to some degree for them on the PDA2K (MDAIII). Since I didn't have a BT headset to try myself I thought I would help you by pointing you to someone who had.
Read posts before blasting back.

Subject: BlueTooth manually updated on PDA2k to 1.5.081
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=11729&highlight=widcomm
Since I didn't see in any thread about someone updating their PDA2k to the latest widcomm drivers... Just an FYI, I copied the files from the other thread onto my PDA2k. Seems to be working. Will test further to see if I'm still getting memory issues like before.
NOTE - I used Resco to copy the files over. There were several warnings that I was updating a file in ROM.. but I went ahead and did that anyway...figured I could hard reset the device if need be.
just a warning, the ROM files he was talking about overwriting, cannot be restored by doing a hard reset, it is permanent. if it messes up you will have to re-flash your pda with a new copy of the OS. that's what i had to do since i couldnt get it to work
Folks: the latest ROM upgrades released by the different carriers are still very defficient on the BT stacks. I was wondering if there is anyway to transplant the Widcomm stack, say from an ipaq 6315 to a Blueangel.
I am somewhat frustrated with the BT inability to connect PC to internet via wireless modem.
I think there was a post on how to do this on a Himalaya. Still trying to find the link.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Fernando
You can use BA as a BT modem for PC. Just run a Wmodem application and select "bluetooth" as the connection method.
And you can easily transfer BT stack from 6315 to BA. But I don;t think that this would fix the BT issues.
Hello mamaich: I have tried repeatedly to use the Wireless Modem via BT to connect my PC to the internet. The connection drops after a couple of seconds and I get a "734 error". The most recent ROM update from imate, Qtek and O2 has not solved this problem. However, I did try the Wireless Modem via BT with an iPaq 6315 and it worked like a charm. Am I missing something here?
Thanks for any advice.
Fernando
Using GPRS? If yes, don't forget to put the modem advance init string. Something like +CGDCONT=1,"IP","apn name". Do a search, you will find several post about that.
Check out this link from PocketPCThoughts.com for a new Bluetooth patch from Broadcom for the PDA2K...
Fellow MVP Helio Diamant, of Pocket PC Freak, has gotten a fantastic little nugget for iMate PDA2k owners:
Quote:
A friend of mine has just come back from CES and brought with him a little CAB file that was being given by the guys from Broadcom there. They told him we can publish and offer for download, so I am putting it here to you guys too.
When installed, this CAB adds the following profiles to the Broadcom BT stack in the PDA2K:
1. High-Quality Audio
2. Keyboard
This means that those of you holding stereo headsets can now connect them to PDA2k and here music, navigation instructions, etc from the device. As well, Bluetooth Keyboards are supposed to work well.
Early reports suggest it works with a number of devices, including both HTC Blue Angel and HTC Harrier units; it might work with other Broadcom-based (i.e., Widcomm) Bluetooth units, but there's no guarantee. If you're interested in playing "with it, you can download the CAB here. Note: This update is unofficial and unsupported; install it at your own risk, and do a backup first! As far as I know, it's a RAM update, but I haven't tried it. Good luck if you do. "

Noviur,
On which device did you try ? i-Mate PDA2k?
cheers,
bins
install seems not to work
Just tried the cab install (both from my SD card and Program Files location - after resets), but nothing seems to have changed on my i-Mate PDA2k with Rom 1.22.162 WWE.
1. No BT Services were added (still only File Transfer, InformationExchange, Serial Port, Personal Network Server, Dial-up BNetworking Server, Hands-Free),
2. No update seems to have happened, all module versions remained at 1.0.0.3500 (except obviously the BTPluginManagerCE.exe [1.0.0.1]),
3. Despite the dialog box telling it is "writing information for Remove Programs" it can not be found back in the Remove Programs.
Any clues?
cheers,
bins
P.S. Just in case, and like Noviur, reverted with Sprite Backup
The version information in the package suggests 1.6.0.0600
did you install the 1.6.0.0600 upgrade before u installed this?
i installed it.. the new 2 profiles show up but the audio one doesnt work ..
i have pda2k
any help???
I installed the new patch on an SX-66. It doesn't upgrade the Bluetooth stack or provide new services. But it does add 2 new profiles. One for a Stereo audio headset (this won't work with a Hands free device since the profile doesn't include support for a MIC.) and one for a keyboard.
I also switched my Bluetooth stack to the 1.6 version posted here. This seems to be a stack based on Widcom as opposed to Microsoft. Although my device worked and seemed to pair faster my Handsfree device didn't come on when dialing the phone. So I switched back.
Remco, thx, installed the Broadcom 1.6.0.600 cab-file first and afterwards installed the PDA2k cab-file.
Update seems to have worked and indeed have the two new client profiles.
Will check in the store tomorrow if the HQ audio works indeed and if no other nuisances arise.
Will keep you in the loop.
cheers,
bins
Installed it on my Qtek9090 with rom 1.22.00/1.06.00/1337.38/1.22.556
I was able to bond my Logitech DiNovo keyboard to the PDA and use it !
It works very well, very cool to be able to type on a full size keyboard on your PDA.
I don't own a BT audio headset, so i wasn't able to test that.
All other devices like my GPS mouse, Bluetrek G2 headset etc. seem to work ok as they did before.
nop, it was I-Mate PPC. I new it is for PDA2K, but wanted to try it
Previously I installed Widcom BT 1.6.
No luck for me ... for now at least
Did it answer calls through the b/t headset? Mine wouldn't connect to the headset for outgoing or incoming calls. Also if it does work, which PDA2K cab did you use?
Thanks

Here's the file
I tried it on my HTC Himalaya. It wouldn't play any sound, not even callers voice. I had to hard reset the unit.
Good luck
Johan
Hi,
I just got my HP bluetooth headphones... and I absolutely love them!!!. The range is ok... not great, but enough to be considered fully usable. It crackles if there is some physical resistance between the MDAIII and the headphones, but other than that, they are awesome...
Anyone that is considering to get them, I highly recommend it. But be sure to have a 3500 bluetooth stack (with the extensions posted here of course) and Radio 1.06.02 (I am not sure whether 00 would do equally, but I recommend 02).
Treo
Me too. Can someone email me a copy of this file?
[email protected]
Thanks!
Has anyone ben able to get the WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack for WM2005 on the blueangel yet?
The ms stack is driving me crazy, i can't seem to connect by GPS reciever with Tomtom 5 and i used to be able to when i was running W2003se on my MDAIII.
If there is any news on this or how to get my Tomtom working please let me knwo
BTW i have already searched the forum and done everything to get it working but no joy
Hi all,
first wanted to say that it is a great forum.
I just came across it couple days ago, and there has been many things that I found here that improved my Qtek 2020i.
but there is one thing that i havent found in here.
I use tomtom 5.21 with a bluetooth GPS receiver. it worked fine until I bought a bluetooth headset. If im using TT to navigate and answer a call via bluetooth headset it works fine, but when i hung up the call, then Qtek looses connection to GPS, then picks it up again in about 10 seconds but runs with a big delay. I have to restart tomtom and then it is back to normal (quite annoying when driving thru town)
any of you have that problem??
thanks for help.
Hi there,
My problem might be related : the device seems unable to use both the headset and the GPS (with TT) at the same time. I don't know why. I've got a Qtek ROM at the moment, I'll see if the latest O2 ROM with upgraded radio stack does any good.
See you.
Right. Just switched to PUG's .162 ROM with O2 stuff stripped.
Alas, it comes with Broadcom stack and there's no SPP inside so I can't connect to my GPS ... Pug if you read this, help
Cheers !
seems strange: I replashed my stock O2 bloatware & buggy 169 Rom with pug's flavour, to give me the 162 rom and Radio version 1.04.
My GPS bonds fine tihe BT, and I can use TomTOm and a BT headset at the same time. Did you flash the Radio to the (far better) 1.04) when you upgraded the Rom?
I've heard quite a few people say on these forums that for Alpine, one of the most stable & speedy setups is the 1.10 WWE Main Rom, the .162 Pug rom with the O2 stuff stripped out, and the 1.04 Radio.
Joe
Yeah actually it works fine now. I made another post while I was looking for help, because the Alpine wouldn't find the SPP service when interrogating the GPS. I simply switched the GPS off and back on, and the problem was gone. I wish I'd tried that before the dozen ROM combinations I spent the afternoon testing
And indeed, I'm now running 1.11WWE/1.04.00/1.11.162 PUGS w/o O2 stuff, and finally TT accepts to work with the headset while using the GPS. What a trip !
Cheers !
