Missing Internet Connection Sharing - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

My TyTN II from Orange (UK) does not have the Internet Conection Sharing under Programmes.
I've searched Microsoft but can't find it. Any idea where I can download from?
Thanks
Gary.

it might actually be there, see if there's a IntShrUI in your /windows directory, if its not, then you can find a cab here. its a good thing that you decided to search, but i think you searched on the wrong website

Go to file explorer and click on WINDOWS folder, move the slider down about halfway and look for INTERNET SHARING, it's there. It won't be in your programs menu unless you download the CAB previously mentioned. Hope that helps man.

Browse PC shared folder, how?

Could anyone kindly advice how can I browse my PC's shared folder.
My PC & XDA-IIi (alpine) both are connected to the same router.
I am using PUG's rom.
Thanks in advance
Sidd
have i asked something impossible? that no one knows how to browse shared folder.
Come-on guys any advices or ideas.
Sidd
GSFinder will do it I think. File menu.
Just provide it a UNC and it should browse away. Win CE has fairly good Network Drive support.
V
thanks for the reply. i havent got good knowledge about networking and stuff, can u spare few minutes to explain in a bit detail please, also if u have got any software to do that then can u please upload it for me.
Sidd
Here's gsfinder:
http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1203
I've never tried this myself, just know the theory from a programming point of view. But check out:
http://compnetworking.about.com/od/windowsnetworking/l/bldef_unc.htm
for details on what a UNC is. If you've got a Windows network setup, it should be straight forward.
V
I've always just done:
Start->Programs->File Explorer
Clicked on open down the bottom then typed in the path in the form of:
\\computername\sharename
For instance
\\mylaptop\games
i use resco file explorer and map the shared folders.

Need TomTom 6 on the AT&T Tilt - Read Here

Not trying to start 1000 threads related to TomTom on the phone, but there seems to be a reoccurring issue with people wanting to get TomTom working on their AT&T Tilt. A lot of people, including myself earlier today, were running into issues with most of the posted files working on the AT&T Tilt. We'd get the message about the ROM being needed to be upgraded. Well buried deep in one of the TomTom threads there was a post by d12ag0n49 pointing to http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JZI2MQES (rar archive with password elrincondedey) that seems to solve the problem for AT&T Tilt users.
I have also uploaded just the cab file onto rapidshare without a password at:
http://rapidshare.com/files/62623762/ttn_6_032_8351_HTCNLD.cab.html
This version appears to work just fine on the AT&T tilt. It does not come with any maps and does link to getting the one free map online (although link never loaded for me). Just simple add the cab file onto your Tilt and install away. You'll have a single voice to choose from without getting additional voices.
Hope this helps.
Steven
i hear you... but man niether one wants to work for me. i guess im sh** out of luck.
but a question. you say just put the cab file in the tilt.
now in laymans terms i need more! assuming i have not installed anything related to tt where would i install this cab file?
Using ActiveSync you need to copy over the .cab file onto your phone (or maybe you can just save it through your browser on the phone). Once you have got it on the phone, you need to use File Explorer to navigate to the directory you saved it in. Find it and run it and it should install after that. What problem are you getting?
This TomTom .cab installed fine, and now I'm configuring it. I haven't finished, but just wanted to pause and thank you for the Female Eva voice from the NETHERLANDS! Like I understand that!

LOL yea might be a bit difficult, but at least you can see what's going on, right? If someone wants to post up detailed instruction on changing the voices/languages please do!
lol geez i think im going to give up
ok via sync i have "explore" which opens the phone.
1 i have copied the whole file and tried also just the contents...no luck you click on files nothing
2 i have copied the file and tried also just the contents into "my mobile phone"...no luck you click on files nothing
its as if after i copy them into the phone the are useless
the closest i have came is with one of the downloads it came as a install wizard which would extract it. but the phone says i need to update rom.
lets say I have a bunch of maps. how do I installthem so tom tom can see them?
lets say you share those maps...ahaha jk
this is where i need to be. try installing that ver (above links) of tt and then i believe you can use tt home or manually install your self in the proper directory.
i just cant get tt itself to install AAARRRGGG
good luck

you're disconnecting your phone from activesync, then using file explorer on your phone to "click" on the cabs you copied over, right?

If you click on a .cab file in file explorer on your phone, it shouldn't "open" (as in let you see the various files within the .cab), it should simply start installing. Not sure what's going on with you.
For those looking for voices, just google free tomtom voices, there are multiple places to find them (and there are some available directly from TomTom). Once you find the ones you want, you just copy those files directly into the "voices" folder that TomTom created. For me, it's in the root of my storage card. For maps, it created a "My documents" folder on my storage card, and the maps are stored in there. Once you get the maps and voices saved in the locations it expects them to be, you just switch to that voice and map in "preferences" within TomTom.
Hate to gloat, but I got TomTom6 working on my Tilt and it works great. Forget the english voices, go for the Darth Vader one!
A quick google search for "tomtom voices" yields a ton of sites.

Wireless Manager Shortcut?

Is there a Shortcut for the Wireless Manager? Or any ideas on how to make one?
Thanks! =)

Okay, here is your one free "too lazy to search & read" answer. (I personally would've saved it for a semi-bricked phone issue, but hey... )
It's in the windows folder. You can either copy it to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs....
Or you can copy the .exe & paste it as a shortcut. You will need a decent file manager like Resco or to use your desktop via activesync.
Don't I get 3 Life Lines?
Thanks, I did search and did read... thing is the forum is full of junk (like this msg I'm posting right now! ) that A LOT of stuff comes up with searches...
But thanks again, I really appreciate it =).

Alittle help please :D

Hey, i just got my HTC Touch Diamond yesterday and i'm already loving it. Well i was looking around to improve it even more and found a couple of things like the tweaks and stuff but how would i go and put them on my phone? like .CAB files, Gsen, Diamond TF3D Config, lightsaber, and disabling 3G and... w/e that other one was that connects to internet other then wifi. Thank you if someone could answer my questions
Easiest would be to copy them via activesync / Mobile Device center, or just connecting the Diamond as a Storage device. Just connect the USB cable to your PC.
So i pretty much just drag and drop them into a folder of my chose and it'll work? Also do i do the same with tomtom7 application and maps?
hmm.. I did what you said and i just put the unzipped files into the harddrive in my program files but it didn't work i tried opening setup but it's and opera file.
on another not where can i get the cab file for no 3G ?

Searching for a few lost cab's

(Please correct me if I should ask submit such a request here or in the software forum.)
I exchanged my defective Tilt for a new one and unfortunately didn't back up my cab files I loaded. Through searching here I managed to get some back, but I'm lost on finding a few others. Can someone point me to the following cabs? Thanks.
Internet Sharing (To replace program ATT removed from new Tilt's)
Task Manager (i.e. made tasks icons on title bar)
Have you Checked P1Tater's or AllTheWay's 4Shared? Could even be in Scotchua's
I've looked at a number of threads, but I don't remember those. I'm new at this. Do I search for those terms to get there?
Also, I feel like a real putz, because I can't remember how I installed the cabs last go around. Can you tell me? For example I have the cab for Opera 9.5, but don't remember what to do with it. Thanks.
At the Top of the Threads list Click the One that says "READ THIS FIRST" It will have a link to their file repositories.

1. To install a .cab, just plug in your phone, copy the .cab over to the Documents on your phone, then go into your phone, do Start Menu > Programs > File Explorer, go to My Documents, then click on the .cab
