i use outlook on my Tilt, when i get email i get a pop like notification every few minutes, and i can selet dismiss or view(or something like that) is there a way to stop that notification popup? also i have my phone light set to turn off after 2 minutes, which it goes into a standby type mode, basically the same thing as when you hit the power button on the right side once how it stand byes until u hit it again, when it does that i cant receive messages, my send/receive is set to check every 5 minutes, but with it in this standby type mode it wont send/receive to get new messages until i basically wake it up, is that a way to get it to send/receive while in this mode?
for your first question: SEARCH THE FORUM !!!!!!!
just kidding (but if you do you'll find your question answered a few times...):
You have to go to Settings/Personal/Sounds and Notification, select New e-mail from the combobox and uncheck the box saying "Display message on screen"
For your second question: I don't know but there are more people complaining about this
thanks man, appreciate it, i guess i had to make things more complicated than they really are lol
I have the same problem. My device (TyTn II) is set to download mails "as items arrive" from my Exchange server. I always have my device in standby-mode using VJDevicelock. The problem is that when it is in standby it doesn't receive e-mails. I then wake it up and suddenly get a barrage of mail.
Search the forums, there was a long thread on this that has sort of died out. Basically, the fix has been identified (we think) and is in the KaiserTweak app. Basically, get the latest xml version of KaiserTweak, and in there are options for "Notifications": change the values under notifications to somehting other than 1 second, and it should fix the problem. Also, it could be a result of having the HTC Home screen installed (if you're using a tilt and installed it as a separate app), the Task Manager seems to contribute to this issue as well (disable it by going to task manager and uncheck the "Enable Quick Menu on Today Screen", and a third possible cuplrit is having the "automatic set time zone and dater" option checked on in Settings > Phone. (This has not bothered mine, but others reported that it did.) But, if I were you I'd start with teh Kaisertweak settings and remove the HTC HOme screen (if installed), and go from there.
First of all, thanks to all of you for creating these wonderful apps for the TYTN II. Much appreciated.
I was wondering, if it is possible for you to create an app (or if there is already one available) that disables the "Connecting..." and "Connectivity..." pop up bubbles/windows that appear when you connect to the Internet. Thanks in advance!
Yes, I am looking for the same thing. I sometimes get the cannot dial ... popup that deactivates copilot live for me. Is there a method to disable or silent this using registry edit?
- TKN
You don't need a custom app for this. It is a part of the notifications found in the System folder.
Go to Settings | Sounds & Notifications | Notifications tab
Set the "Connection established" and "Connection Disconnected" events and set what you want it do or not do.
Thank you for your prompt and most helpful solution.
The suggestion above does not work for me (vario3 stock rom)- I have the options for both these events deselected, but the "Display mesage" option is greyed out on the "Connection disconnected" event.
Very annoying when using Tomtom traffic, the bubble comes up whenever you are out of reception and has to be ok'd to get back to tomtom
Hi all,
I'm running iAnywhere's OneBridge software on my Kaiser to sync with the company's Lotus Notes server. The version of OneBridge client is 5.5.2007.0702.
There are currently two unresolved issues on my client aplication:
1) I'm using the LiveConnect feature (which works in similar way as the "push" technology and delivers e-mail messages to your mobile device in real time). I would like to set up OneBridge LiveConnect to notify me, when new e-mail arrives. There is an option "notify using:" and the possibilities are: display, sound, vibrate. I have chcecked all of them. When a new e-mail arrives, the device displays message, vibrates but plays only a short click - in fact this is the sound, which is named as "default.wav" (in Windows directory). I was not able to find any solution how to set different sound notification - the short click is hard to be heard. Have anybody resolved this issue? I also had the idea to replace the "default.wav" file in the Windows directory, but this is a ROM file, so it can't be replaced.
2) When the OneBridge LiveConnect client was installed, it replaced the left context button (originaly assigned to Calendar) to "Notification" function, which pops up the status of OneBridge LiveConnect service. As i can check the status also by clicking on the LiveConnect green icon in the top line next to clock, it is redundant to have the left context key assigned to the same function (blocked by this function to be precise). Anybody have an idea how to get rid of the "Notification" and get back to "Calendar" setting?
Thank you very much in advance for any answers for this (quite speciffic) questions.
I can answer half of your questions
2) - use the Softkey Changer Applet (attached) to select the application you want to use for the left (and right) soft keys.
EDIT: Once you've installed it, you'll find it in Start | Settings | System | Soft Key.
Mark.
How does onebridge compare to commontime mnotes?
To Mark Crouch: Thanks for the suggestion. I allready looked to the registry HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 where the left context key is stored and there is still Calendar there. So it seems that it is not hard-overwritten. After a soft-reset, for about 30seconds (before OneBridge LiveConnect starts), the soft-key is assigned to Calendar and then it changes to "Notification" - like in case of missed call or sms message. It looks like the OneBridge LiveConnect sends some event Notification which is then displayed by the windows mobile as usually.
To captainsensible2002: OneBridge is very robust and complex solution, but quite expensive in my oppinion. For a big company (100's of users) it is probably a good solution, similar to Blackberry or MS Exchange. My basic understanding of the LiveConnect function is that it is based on data connection - the client estabilishes connection with the server and is in stand-by mode, waiting for a packet (new mail information), which is sent by the server. The client then downloads the message. It is not very much battery consuming as the data connection is just active without any data transfers for majority of the time.
I have the exact problem listed in item 2. It is some kind of notification but once you view it, it doesn't go away like a notification should. I sure would be interested if you have found a solution. I'm not getting much support from my company.
Notification
Hi.
Did anyone of you find out what to do with the notification?
I have the same problem aswell.
The only way, how to change OneBridge sound notification - change WM default notification sound.
It can be done by editing registry value.
In registry go to:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Notifications\Default
Then change value Wave to another sound.
I change sound to \Windows\Alarm3.wma
Then Soft reset
After reset you will get different sound when mail will arrive.
If I found another solution, then I will post here.
Hi guys,
did anyone solve the notification issue?, im having the same problem

Just got a new diamond here in Tokyo connected the Softbank network.
It seems whenever I send out an email via Outlook/SMS/S! Mail(Service that allows SMS-like mail to be sent to regular email accounts or other cellphone providers...most people use it here in Japan) I get a "Your mail has been successfully sent" email confirmation everytime I send out a mail. For someone who uses all three services frequently, it tends to get a little annoying
I've downloaded many tweaks and modification applications for the diamond but it seems I'm still not able to find the workaround...
Does anyone know the cure for this or is this a known problem?

This little quirk bothers me too because I want to hit send and then lock the device; unfortunately, when I hit send and lock the device I get a bunch of notifications and the device unlocks itself and random uttones get pressed as its in my pocket.
It may be best to load a WWE rom and sort out the smail using mmslite. Getting JP input working however is another issue.
For the problem with the notifications in softbank's arcsoft mail app, I wonder if there is a registry fix we can do.
solution for successful sent notification(at least for text)
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-diamondpro-tweak.html
Go to messages, and disable text messages notifications.
Kevbodian, mjz147,
Thanks, I really appriciate your quick response!!
I checked out that Diamond tweak app and its one hell of an applicaiton!
It seems though, when I disabled the text message notification and soft reset, im still getting those alerts after sending MMS/SMS emails.
Is there something wrong with my device or I may have to do some manual modifications via registry? :\
Tried to just disable em in Windows?
Start/Messaging/Menu/Tools/Options/SMS MMS
There you can disable notifications. Atleast for SMS messages for me it works.

I guess I have bad luck when it comes to disabling notification via Windows.
Unlike the US version, my phone doesnt have just one central location for mail but two (Outlook application - used for PC email & SoftBank Mail - used for SMS and MMS...)
So when I looked under the option menu in Outlook tools, I wasnt able to find any SMS/MMS options...
Im sure theres a registry hack that can be used...im not so sure why the diamond tweak app could apply changes to everything except the "turn off notifications" option though...
Was anyone able to solve this issue?
Did you guys try Advanced Config v3.3?
It has a section devoted to messages tweaks.
It does have a tweak that disables notifications.
Greets.

I currently have 3.3 installed and have used it to disable/enable many features on my Diamond. But it seems after I disable the 'SMS delivery notification' and 'SMS sent notification" fields (and soft reboot), it is still showing the sent notifications after sms/s!mail is sent...
As Kevbodian was saying, maybe there is a special reg hack that needs to be done under softbank's arcsoft mail app.
could somebody figure out what change is made when that notification is turned off and turn this into a cab file? the only thing that bothers me is the sound. i dont mind the bubble or the little icon on the top telling me that my sms is sent. thanks
this one is simple and right to the point install it and it doesnt give you the message, you dont have tons of menus to navigate through just that install
also i am simply reposting this app i did not develop it or design it credit goes where credit is due
so this turns off the sound AND the notifications also? thanks
yep no sound and no pop up message after sending one
i hope it helps
almost tempted to figure out how cab files work (arent they just reg edits?) and maybe try to see if i can change it myself. i like having the notifications (bubble and little icon on the top) but the sound can be annoying at times,
Edit1: also i just installed advanced config 3.3 and the notification thing works for me.
Edit2: also search "kraiser tweak" and you will find it has settings for this. a lot of settings actually for just the thing you are talking about. now we just need to find the edits in the registry because i dont really like having 2 configuration programs on my phone. (advance config, and kraiser tweak)
Edit3: ok i found this on the wiki....Disable SMS Sent Notification
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings] Set SMSNoSentMsg to 1
.....so does this mean if it was changed to a 2,3,or 4 that would change the action of it? im really trying to look into this.....if you cant tell haha
I'm seriously thinking of getting the TD2, but need some advise first. Can anyone recommend an IM client that I can use on the TD2 with Google Talk. I've had a search around the forums, but can't find any recommendations (in relation to the TD2).
If your using IM on the TD2, how does it alert you to new messages? Also, is there a status light on the TD2?
Thanks in advance to any help you can give me.
you can change the setting for receiving messages from vibrate to sound notification, and there is a led next to the top speaker which also alerts for messages

Try FRING, you'll like it. GoogleTalk, Skype, ICQ and so on -- all in one application
Fring seems to get stuck at "Logging in...", it's been going for about 8 minutes!
also try Nimbuzz. It supports Google Talk. I find it better than Fring because Fring used to hide the compose window with the soft keyboard on my Diamond 1 - so I couldn't check what I was writing. Nimbuzz works well, but doesn't have the SIP client that Fring has
Managed to get Fring working last night, over Wi-Fi. Still doesn't like running over T-Mobile though, I'm guessing T-Mobile must be blocking access because it supports VOIP. I seem to recall Fring has a Proxy server that you can use to get around this restriction, but when I go into Fring's SETTINGS menu, there's just a blank screen. I suppose this is a compatibility issue with the TD2 - the text is awfully big so maybe all the ticky boxes are off-screen? Had a poke in the registry and found some Fring registry keys, but not one to turn the proxy on and off.
Does anyone have any idea of how to fix the Settings screen to work properly, or what to change in the registry, or even if using the Fring proxy will work at all?
Many thanks for any pointers :O)
It's not going to be very useful over Wi-Fi only - I primarily want it for the Facebook Chat and need to be able to use it while out and about.
