yeah im running it. you use the wizard base rom and replace wavedev.dll and battdrvr.dll with ones from the prophet rom to get the sound and battery working. install arcsoft to restore mms. no camera support though. looking into it.
one of the big errors though is that coming out of sleep soft resets it, so doesnt make it very practical!!
edit: apparently the battery needs to get used to wm6 and the soft reseting stops after a few days, mine now has

I'm looking forward to flash my Charmer (MDAcII) to WM6, but I won't try to mess up my phone with some beta rom.
BTW: Any ideas if WLAN will work under WM6? According to 'some' posts here in the forum, WM5 + WLAN on Charmer = Not working properly. :-/

everythings beta, there will never be a official wm6 final as htc will only develop wm6 for new models. as for the wlan stuff, wm5 wasnt the problem it was the drivers written for it by the wifi card maker.
imo wm6 isnt worth it, its not finished, big problem with standby, the camera doesnt work, mms isnt included as standard. it just looks pretty, and that can be done on a wm5 device anyway.

Good day everybody, i've got a charmer (128 mb ram)i've never upgraded it because i'm not using it, my bootloader is v1.2 and i have really looked around for the v2 of bootloader but unfortunatly it's ain there,,, can someone tell me what to do?? im sure mine is not the magician its the charmer,,, thanx in advance
It can be much, but a charmer. Charmers always come with WM5 and not 2003SE. But to be sure under the battery near the phone card there must be written PM200. If not it's no Charmer.

For those of us that have intermittent WiFi connectivity issues; has anyone noticed any improvements connecting to hotspots after installing the new ROM?

Not my credits, it was posted earlier by another user. But it's not all about the numbers. Drivers, xip, os as well as packages changed.

Well, take a look at nk.exe and the other parts in the xip. Run a diff with an hexeditor. Change in offsets. Also the os changed. Run a diff on 1.19 and 1.56. Also the drivers changed. So I guess it's not only the numbers. But show me if I am wrong

im still arguing if i should flash to new ROM 1.56. onkolog said no diff. just number changed. and i read the rom_diff, it showed many new version in ROM. so im gonna test the new ROM 1.56 (miri's v7.2 standard without manila) and will report the feel IMO. i hope this new ROM is better

Sorry I don't understand. I use the xip's OEMXIPKernel part from 1.56, some new drivers and packages from the 1.56 rom. Indeed not sure if hTC fixed some issues in these components but we will find out. Enlighten me
That what I told...You and other cookers just use few new things from new ROM 1.56, but users think you use all ROM 1.56...They don't understand you correctly...That why I told no difference...only numbers)))
GPS
GPS is indeed faster to find a fix, but something odd I have noticed is that TomTom 7 doesn't say I am connected to any satellites, yet it has found my location and works perfectly fine otherwise...
Opera (Internet Browser)
With the old ROM, opera would always be slow to load up and after quitting the application the phone would screw up somehow, either it becomming sluggish or crashing or getting a 'dont send' error. In this new ROM, it is much faster to load up and quit, however, it is still kind of buggy for me and sometimes crashes. Its still not stable (in my opinion).
Battery Life
Regarding battery life, I haven't seen much of a difference. If anything I would have to say this ROM has got a bit better battery life but nothing much, its negliable.
In General
The new ROM in general is slightly faster, but only by a small amount. Some people wouldn't probably even notice this speed difference because it is so small.
Worth Upgrading?
Depends. If you use GPS a lot then this could be for you. But soon people will probably start cooking with this as the base ROM so you will get these features and more anyway. just numbers... well your right evan data is just numbers 1010111001001 but they can they can make a differance. 1.56 has updated os ect which a good **** can easaly better but theees also the updated spl with some firmware w for the new drivers ect now the divers and spl arnt gona b bettered by a cook only incorpirated only a proramer, developer, someone who knows the languages ect could mess with thouse. im hoping olinex will hack the new spl for us soon which whould make it esy to flash 1.56 coocked roms.
as i said new drivers and firmware which includes new drivers and firmware for the graphics. im hoping htc have given us heardware acceleration but time will tell. a better base to start from will always give you a better reault and sone of the guys here work wonders so lets hope and see what happens.

Yes, Theres WWE and some other versions. But trust me, you wont like it. I am on Energy and just switch to stock to see the difference, And I found myself back with an energy rom within one hour. But still you are interested, maybe can give you a link by tomorrow....

Do you have HardSPL on your phone already ? Sorry if you already know this, but you won't be able to use an official HTC ROM unless you've got a non-carrier-branded phone (i.e. a plain HTC phone) and it's of the correct region. Or unless you install HardSPL.

My signature states i currently use energyrom, which wouldnt be able without hard-spl. And i got a unbranded plain 'htc' device ;]

I see you talking about the energy rom. I've tried severall, but they al drain my battery like crazy....
Is there someone with a new energy rom link?
I've contact my carrier as the shop where i'v baught the phone. First i have to give them at least 5 changes to fix my realllyyyyyyyy slow interface..
After 5 times no succes they will think about replacement...
So, who can give me a good link for energy...

I must say, that stock ROM with sense 2,5 is really horrible. It is incredibly slow and unstable and it was the reason that I flashed to energy ROM which is more that 4 times faster and more stable.....
Don't flash to latest stock ROM

You have to adjust the battery and backlight settings, plus tweak using the advanced configuration program NRG has cooked in. Then it will get decent battery use.
Read the first three posts of the NRG ROM thread to get the download links.
dear forumer, i have facing is problem after i flash back from wm6.5 to wm6.1 stock rom1.59, it same as before i flash it to wm6.5. may i know from u guys, how to solve this problem. thank in advance. for all urs advise and opinion.
check what radio u've been with b4 the downgrade- if u had 17 and now with stock rom u got most likely 14 this might explain the difference
