It's all personal preference. Try a few ones out yourself and see which ones you like better.
Most newer ones are 5.2.19199. Most have the touchflo abilities. You can even make your own ROM with my kitchen.

Wing Performance Issues

Hi. I bought the Wing when it first came out. The only programs I use on it are Total Commander, TCMP, Spb Pocket Plus (the new version) and Spb Weather. Every month the phone suddenly moves like a turtle and I have to do a hard reset. Has there been a official ROM release yet (I've seen nothing on the t-mobile site) or a stable cooked ROM that could be recommended. I went into the settings to show you what versions are currently on my wing. PLEASE HELP!! Oh yeah, I have reduced my pagepool to 6MB, which helps when the phone works.. I tried lowering it to 4MB, but my phone lagged too much.
"About"
Windows Mobile 6 Professional
CE OS 5.2.1235 (Build 17740.0.2.0)
"Device Information"
Model No.: HERA110
ROM version: 4.10.531.3 WWE
ROM Date: 03/15/07
Radio Version: 02.83.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.37
ExtROM version 4.10.531.103
Thanks.
The stock TMO rom sucks and it really slow. You should consider upgrading to a 3rd party Rom.
Personally, I use TouchIT 2.3 by ITJE
I've tried all of the ROMs, and this is the one I have found to be the best.
Agreed. TouchIT 2.3 by ITJE is still slow for me. I found PDAViet rom running faster on my Wing. It was easier to flash than TouchIT too. But then any rom is still faster the TMO rom.
Touch-IT 2.3 or Open Touch 1.0. Open touch is Touch-IT 2.3 with a few fixes and nicer looking icons. ANY new ROM you get will be better than that T-Mobile piece of ****.

Does it really make sense to update from 1.14 to 1.56 ROM?

Anyone has seen real improvements in any areas?
Is it faster, better signal, new features in Manila, anything else?

For better signal you need a new radio version not a new rom. But not every new radio is better than a earlyer version!
I also used stock 1.14 rom for a long time (nearly 3 months) and since about 2 months I am updating my roms from time to time because they are faster than the 1.14 rom when you intall a good rom (I´ve installed Miri´s 6.5 V6.1 Standart at the moment and for my it´s the best rom for now).
I also tested nearly every newer 6.1 rom here and also every 6.5 build 21202 rom and for me the Miri´s rom 6.5 V6.1 standart was the best and it uses only 31% memory after reboot. I don´t know what a 1.14 rom use after a reboot?!? But that is also important for more speed and longer battery life I think!
But everybody likes different roms so you couldn´t really say whats the best one or the fastest rom.
YEAH!
It makes a lot of sense!

Could you please elaborate?
If everything works great for you on 1.14 you don't have the reason to upgrade since there are no some fancy new stuff in 1.56. I would flash the new one anyway... its official upgrade! ^^
Post with comparison of 1.14 and 1.56
I installed the 1.56 but the features are very limited. No difference in speed so i go back to Dutty 2.6 rom which is user friendly and complete rom.
I think HTC should follow XDA and make real improvement to their interface. Because most of the rom here much better than new announced rom.

★[ROM][WWE][Feb.07.10] kwbrs Vanilla Series Rhodium [5.2.21889][1.56.405][ONLINE]
After flashing it is recommended to perform a hard reset. Scroll down for version history.
No radio, ipl or spl included. Please use an appropriate spl before flashing this rom.
This rom comes as it is and is meant for those that like the rom as close to stock as possible. All Rhodium packages, mostly untouched but slightly tweakt here and there. So you basically get a 98% Rhodium port with minor additions. When you want a fully tweaked rom I recommend Topix.
Thanks for all your feedback and support.

6.5 version from KWBR
Hi kwbr, you know that i am fan of your Vanilla ROMs but... why you don't use as base 1.59.709.0 Blackstone ROM and newer build 5.2.21870?
Great rom, very fast! Thanks.
great .. will try it soon

Oh, great! Thanks, kwbr.
I'll try though I've flashed my stone up to 6 times today.

Expectations
Another Vanilla and this time 6.5... very exciting... if it's from kwbr it's going to be a good one...
I'm waiting for this rom so far.
Thanks for the release.
I hope kwbr is using a version of touchflo which resolves the bluetooth AVRCP issues, where it doesn't keep opening windows media player. It appears only the older 2.1 releases are bug free, such as the version Kwbr used in his Topix 3.0 release... I'll keep my fingers crossed...
can we get any info about versions of softwares included, ram usage and screenshots... tht be nice
great work, I've been after a Rhodium vanilla series for a while
Thanks
I think I have found the ROM I didn't even know I was looking for
Thanks kwbr, this ROM hits the spot. Seems smooth and stable and complete, not like the other ROMs out there chasing the latest builds of everything bringing in the latest bugs with everything too!
I don't think Manila 2.5 (especially the landscape images and music tabs) will ever work well on the HD because the HD2 has better spec's... so it's good to get the best of what is out there for similar spec' phones and port it to the HD. Nice one.
How to changed the default wallpaper from purplish to black? Because the clock transparency is too high and makes it like a grey ulgy patch.
Can someone please post some picks.

Looking for more speed

Currently im running the |B|6.5.3|WWE| ★ EnergyROM "Leo" 28011/21877 |07 Dec| ★ Sense 2.5 ★, But it seems to come with so much junk on it.
Is there any way to keep the same rom, but just have it with apps that come with a default phone???
Also, as to date, which rom is the fastest?
You can try to use pagepool changer 2.1 to change the .nbh file pagepool to above 24mb.
Maybe it will help the speed faster.
Downgrade to Winmo 6.1 and Manila 2.1 !! I did it and my device is soo fast now (and stable !)

Which Rom are you using, I am using kwbr 3.1.2 and it is fast, but more speed is always welcomed.

As much as I appreciate the hard work that has gone into the benchmarking results, these can be misleading. I have found that for everyday use the smoothest fastest rom isn't necessarily the top rom on the benchmarks. The benchmarks is only a starting guide. You need to actually test the roms yourself to get a more accurate answer!!
...I've flashed back to WinMo 6.1 (l26 v3.55) and it's awesom. I've forgotten how fast and smooth my device can be.
Unfortunately I miss the features of WinMo 6.5 and Manila2.5 So I will search for my perfect ROM....maybe it will be L26 6..5 v4?!
i could refer to the upcoming topix rom tomorrow, too, but i somehow do not like such threads a lot. if someone seeks a fast rom, he should try some roms personal.
I've recently started using Xannytech's roms based on the 28xxx branch of Windows Mobile 6.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=594151
Super fast, and super stable. I don't think my phone has been so fast!
Best advice, search & try a few roms.
No need for threads like these as everyone has different opinions & favourite roms

Need a suggestion

my Blackstone is working again...
6 month ago it was a brick, now with no reason is back on and working. But i lost contacts with the forum.
I need suggestions on what ROM or android version to put on it.
I'm searching for the best and stable rom of the moment
Tnx for your suggestions
Hey, It great it's back.
Before you do anything I'd "TASK29" it to clean it memory.
In regards to the ROM, you need to give us some idea what you want to use it for. EG you daily phone - so speed and stability is preferred... A phone to experiment on - Android or newer WM OS etc.

I prefer speed and stability for WM and i'd like to have a good Android also to test and try.
Also couse after the HD i had a HTC tattoo, so i'm used to android now
hi, personally I really like the blacknew V rom From kenya. It's a WM 6.1 with Manila 2.5. It's very fast and stable, and wm 6.1 is way faster than 6.5 on our "old" touch hd
Kenya Rom
