Beta Magneto Expired - Need to load new OS

Hey all, no doubt there has been discussion on how to obtain and load a new Windows Mobile 2005 OS onto the Blue Angel on this board, however, I couldn't find anything specific to my circumstance.
A friend loaded my MDAIII with a beta of Windows Mobile 2005, which has now become expired and the phone is not useable anymore. I need to load a final version of the OS on the device, but don't have the rom or the tools to do it, and generally don't know how. I have checked

briefly, but wasn't sure what I need. During the use of the beta the camera on the phone was not operational either. Maybe there is a separate set of files to make that work. Can anyone provide some tips on where to get what is needed, and what to do with it? I'm without a phone right now and its kind of a bummer

Beta Expired
Sorry? Don't be, that is exactly what I needed, except for one thing. It is talking about using activesync to connect to the device. The device is not in a state where it is accepting connections. As soon as you turn it on and it boots, you get your password screen. As soon as you log in you are presented with a "this beta has expired" message and can't go anywhere / do anything. Still investigating...
Has anyone seen this beta screen before?

I have not experienced anything like this when i used to use WM5.

I belive you should be able to do this by putting the thing into bootloader mode and then flash it with the XDA Developers version.

Wait...where did your friend get the version he put on your BA?
Is it the same Rom version/OS version?

Nice , maybe he had version difference with us.

ask your friend to enter bootloader and make an SD-backup of his ROM and share it with us. It is very interesting to look at his OS.

Opera

Hi,
For some reason I seem to have got two different builds of Opera installed on my Pro.
I can remove one by Remove Programs but not the other as it came on the device by default.
How can I get both versions removed and can someone proviode the link to the latest build and version of Opera Mobile?
And does Opera Mobile support Opera Link?

you cant uninstall the default opera that came with the device (becasue it is in rom) you can overwrite with latest version though
use search to find latest builds...

I have found a file which seems like I can use to overwrite the current files but my pro won;t let me overwrite them. Opera is closed but it still won;t let me.
Any ideas?

Not strictly true, generally the ROMs ive seen have the Opera built in as a cab...so yes you CAN uninstall it....wether or not it puts an entry into remove programs is another matter.

you may have closed it, but there is likely to be processes running in the background which youll need to end
thats true, if you can install it, you can delete it, but if it comes in the rom already installed, you cannot remove it

How do I close those background processes then?

you can use something like sktools
or maybe try installing straight after a softreset

I like the stock Opera on my Sprint TP a lot. It's build 2316. Wanting the latest and greatest, I tried to install 2745 without success (no CAB, it was exe). I then went to the Opera web site and tried to install their "stable" beta - something like 9.51b (build 2723). Installed ok but did not replace anything on my TP. So back to last known CAB that I know of - 2649. Looks great but half the time I hit a link in text (like an e-mail) it runs and starts a download of a page but never finishes nor displays the page.
Any advise greatly appreciated,

Phone sticks in the call screen, and I've lost my licenced version of CoPilot.

Thank you for the heads up. I was just about to download it when I read your comment.
My Rhoduim works great with the stock rom it came with. (1.19.401.0) So like the guy said in another thread here in the Rhoduim section "If it ain't broke it don't need to be fixed".
Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to some custom roms.

lol i have this rom installed and its running smooth and fast and very stable..
better then the first one...
i hope that hardspl is comming fast so i can run custom roms.. xD

I've downloaded it. Runs smooth, no problems. I updated my copilot last week with the one in the htc site. It wouldn't allow me to use my licence on it. Contacted copilot, they replied straight away with
Please proceed with the following instructions to allow you to activate successfully on the Touch Diamond 2 / Touch Pro 2.
1) Hard reset your device (as HTC stop CoPilot from being removed from the device once installed)
2) Download the latest installer from http://support-downloads.alk.com/copilot7-cabs/Touch-Diamond-Pro-2-Non-RPS-CAB.zip
3) Delete \Storage Card\CoPilot\Save
4) Unzip the above ZIP and it should contain a copilot.wm6ppc.cab
5) Download the map from our portal www.copilotlive.com/htc
6) Unzip the file and copy the folder CoPilot into your Storage Card
7) Install this on your device (navigate and tap it using File Explorer)
8) Once installed, Launch CoPilot
9) You will now be asked for a product key code
10) Select Manual Activation
11) Go to http://activate.alk.com and enter
Your Product Key Code
Your License number (found on your device manual activation screen)
Your Email Address
12) When provided from the Activation Website with an Activation Code, tap NEXT on your device and enter this into your device
13) CoPilot should now activate successfully
I tried it using automatic activation and it worked.
After updating to this new rom, copilot remained in my program directory and was still activated. Not sure how they managed to do that.

what has changed? My rom has version 1.14.161.5 on it. It works like a dream after lots of tweaks and fiddles have been applied but I always want the the latest stuff. Does anyone know what has changed between mine and the new one?

I'm using a T-Mobile USA Touch Pro 2 and noticed that I'm running ROM 1.20.531.4 (51986) WWE with Radio 3.45.25.14.. If you guys need a rom dump of that, let me know, I'll see what I can do for ya'll

i am writing from Turkey and my carrier's name is turkcell... i installed that rom last night..it is bad for me, my carrier's 3g support was gone..the 3g icon doesnt appear anymore..what can i do ?

Yes, because it's an official TP2 for TMobile.

this cannot be port to youre device becouse there is NO hardspl.
you need that.. then you can flash roms other then youre languide (custom roms)

Hi all, newbie here.
I've got a UK vodafone Pro2 with ROM 1.14.161.5 (50207) WWE.
Tried updating the ROM but says my serial is not valid for this ROM!!!
I am also unable to update with the GPS hotfix as its not compatible ??
Is this due to the fact that its using Vodafones own ROM and therefore we arent allowed to reflash the ROM ?
I have emailed HTC but while waiting a reply was wondering if anyone here would help out.

did you get reply from HTC? I have the same issue with WWE version, and it's not branded.

Yeah i did, its due to the fact that its a custom Vodafone ROM. Therefore updating is not possible via HTC, they advised me to contact vodafone themselves to see if they have released any updates themselves.
couldn't find anything useful at all on the vodafone website.
Looks like I'm stuck... for now.
Apparently its not possible to to re-flash the ROM yet? something to do with HardSPL.. I don't know, complete noob at this so far.

I dont care what memory it says it has - I dont care where the finance quotes come from (these are the 2 stated improvements) - surely this is not the only reason to upgrade a ROM???

Mobile version expiration date??

had dloaded 23547 three days ago then had problems so went back to 23529. Now today i got a message saying that this moble version will expire on may 1 2010. did this happen cuz i went back to an older version ???never ever had this problem with any roms before. any ideas??

The ROM you downloaded did not have the "timebomb" removed from it by the chef. You should contact the chef to let them know so they can re-cook the ROM.
If you cooked it yourself in your own kitchen, you can consult with any of the other Chefs to obtain the utility to remove the timebomb and re-cook the ROM. Although, most of the kitchens I know of automatically check for and remove the timebomb. There may also be a link to the utility in the development thread somewhere...just do a search.

Mute button is working again on the latest one.

Ok nice. Another issue was when i click on people on my list.eg.pete so i go to p it will scroll back up to a after 3 secs. weirddd.

if you are having a problem with a particular chef's rom, you should post it in the thread you downloaded it from...not start a new thread.

Samsung "NOW" app unavailable after Mango update

Got official Mango update yesterday and went to update my apps including Samsung NOW. It would not install the update. OK, so I thought the pre Mango version might be causing the problem so I deleted it from the phone and then went back to Marketplace. Next thing it says that NOW is unavailable for my phone. I know other people are having the same problem. I liked the app and now that I don't have it I miss it even more. Anyone any ideas on what might be the problem...

Now works perfectly for everyone who has already got it. The problem is that if you go to the samsung zone and click on "Now" you will see something like "the app can't be installed in your phone".
For now there is no solution..we have only to wait for Samsung.

Also, if you (like me) have and old version installed, it cant be updated thru marketplace. It just gives the usual rubbish error.

Samsung don't really seem to care about customer satisfaction... If you look at all the problems across the WP7 platform most of them seem to be with Samsung devices.

I don't know. I extract this using wp7root tools. I search in all folder of my phone and i don't found other. In about of app say 2.5.0.1 but in xaml I see 1.5.0.1. I don't try because my version is latest and if this is previous I don't risk to downgrade.

Deployment throws me an error 0x8103010B. What does that mean?
My phone is unlocked in every possible way, so that shouldent be the problem.

Thanks for this but really we should'nt have to do this. Samsung should fix this so that all Omnias can get the updated version. How hard is it for them to do this? They should be blocked from MArketplace; simple as that.
As for me, well all I can say is roll on Nokia on Oct 26 and I know what I will be doing.

in my market (omnia 7 mango i am in italy) there is an update for NOW... i have installed it, and for now it seems the same as before but the version is 2.6, maybe the updates of weather and news works now...

now app is now available in the samsung zone.
