Simple Program For Sliding Sounds - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I've seen in this forum alot of complicated Appz developed and never heard about an application that simply lets you browse and choose your sliding sound without having to edit the registry.
In cheaper Cellphones you have the options to add them without any need of edditing nothing, just save it in the device and its there for you.
I mean or at least someone that can create a simple Appz for sliding Sounds?
Come on, Anyone?

Novice Wing Modder with Some Questions....

Hey folks, I got my Wing a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I had a treo before, and this makes me much happier. I had gotten into modding the UI a bit and playing around with the best combos of third-party software on my old treo, so I started playing with my Wing. Well, I've gotten probably mid-level with my technical modding competency thus far. I'm comfortable with most progs and mods I've found below actually flashing the ROM, and I'd think about that too, but I've gathered that most of the TF roms out have trouble on the Wing. So far, I'm overclocked to 260, tweaked some stuff in the registry, installed the HTC Touch UI minus the cube and all that, but I'm not quite happy. So, I have some questions:
On the HTC Home 5 tab skin:
1. Is there any way to put custom icons in the launcher area? Not just style-wise(though that would be good), but that link to things that aren't on the list? I'd really love to but a button that would take me to "settings" in there, like the one that takes you to "programs". I have a few other ideas too.
2. On the weather tab, I know there is a way to add cities to the "select city" list by getting the city code off of accuweather.com and changing the registry, but I can't figure out how to get the code for my city when I look it up on the site...I search it, and it comes up, but where is the code?
3. I put the HTC black theme on here, but I wondered, are there any others available? I know I've seen a blue one, and I think I've seen pictures of an HTC Touch that had a red theme....
Other Stuff:
1. I tried to up my page pool to 6mb like it says in the "all you need to know" thread, but the preparation app wont work....I install it, but nothing happens after that....I can't find it to open or anything else...Is installing it enough?
2. Is there any way to keep wm6 from putting the recently used programs on the start menu?
3. Is there any way to change the two links on the bottom bar that the soft keys are mapped to? Not change what the keys are mapped to, but like, change "Calendar" to "Settings" or "Contacts" to "Messaging", for example?
4. Is there anything out there that would let me navigate my phone with my finger? I know certain programs have this capability, like Opera Mobile's latest beta and PocketCM(which I use), but I'd like it on all windows that require scrolling....
Apps:
1. Anyone know the best app to use to stream radio and/or tv on my phone?
2. What's the best way to watch youtube? I wouldn't ask, but I've found like three or four different threads/articles on ways to do it, and I don't know which I should use. I prefer to use Opera as my browser, but I can use PIE now and then, if the process actually lets me watch it in my browser....
3. Can ya suggest any good games?
Well, thanks in advance for any help you can give. I've been trolling here for a while, so I know there are some very smart people here and I have faith. Sorry for asking so much, and forgive me if I should have broken this up a bit into different threads, but I'm trying to perfect my phone, and this was basically what was left on my list....Any other tips on how to achieve my goal of making a nice, clean, finger-friendly UI and putting the picking the best apps would be appreciated too.
Peace.
Ok, I figured out the HTC weather thing, and the today softkey thing, so I'm good there. Any help on the rest?
I can cover a few for you but any more's gonna cost ya....
flash your phone with either of the touch roms out right now and you will be able to finger scroll in nearly all applications.
try avotmv, or search using google for similar programs for streaming videos(avotMv includes youtube as well as google).
Many streams to tv stations can be opened with WMP directly which makes it alot easier to connect to them by saving them as PIE favourites. You just need to find 'em first, I would suggest doing that from your computer first.
I've recommended Flux Challenge before, ill do it again...apart from that I don't run too many games from my pocket pc. Seal Volleyball is kinda fun too.
Maybe some others can assist you with the rest
cheers

simple software to schedule profiles changes

Hi
Before i had a HTC s730 smartphone, i had a program to change profiles according to day and time. i really need it on my diamond are there any one like it?
i have seen huge software packages from fx. spb and others that can also do it among a million other things, but idont want my diamond messed up by crapware.

I used Pocket Alarm, which does everything, but its status bar integrates in the Today screen, but not TFLO3. I am therefore also looking for something better or a way to get these kind of programs to appear on the TFLO3
I use phoneweaver from SBSH, have the setting on one of the TFLO program tabs. Works for me.
http://www.sbsh.net/product.php?id=28
Thanks but it is not really what i am looking fore..
I dont want any today plugin or being able to control wifi and stuff
just a simple program to create a shedule when to switch to a profile...
maybe i should look into coding it myself... cant understand it dosent exist?

Looks loke it includes many of the PA features, but how do you get it on a TFLO3 tab?

You need to control it so the plug-in is very convineint, just that TFLO is new to the WM world. I guess that's why it doesn't exist. Let's know when you have coded it.
EDIT
Just tried PhoneWeaver (30 days free trial). Suggest you try it as it does what you requested and does not dependend on a plug in (available though, but you need not install it). It does not quite offer as much flexibility as PA and lacks an overview at a glance of all profile settings (at least I did not find such yet), but it is simpler and you do not depend on the plugin to change profile manually, so I'll keep it.
Profile Manager
I needed the same software too just a simple profile manager without all the extra plug ins
www.winmobileapps.com has a software called which I used for my Ipaq 614 and it was fine but was unable to get it to work on the Touch Diamond possibly because of the weird volume controls rather than the standard WM6 ones.
Try it though and maybe you'll have more luck 'cos there's nothing else out there and I searched for weeks.

Task Tab in TF3D - Programmer Needed

I know that I would donate $10 to someone who can take the time to figure this out. It has to be possible to add a Tasks tab to the TF3D interface.
I don't want to have to switch to second today or anything like that - fully integrated! A clean and simple list of tasks maybe with an "X" delete button on the right side of each task.
I know people say it's impossible, but with some time I'm sure it can be done.
If you would like this too and would be willing to donate some - just leave a post saying so - maybe someone will be enticed to collect such a prize enough to figure it out!
If you do figure it out and post a reply - you're my hero and please set up a thread for donations!
edit: By tasks I mean things you have to do in real life - NOT a list of running programs - linked in to the 'Tasks' program that's a part of outlook...
yeah, someone help!!! it a obviously new tab, everyone need that!
Manila Control?
I know it's not the answer you're looking for but have you taken a look at Manila Control?
It allows you to use your regular today screen (with plugins). It's somewhat like Second Today however I always had problems with it running. I've been using this since its release and haven't had any trouble whatsoever.
Manila Control
It's something for now until the XDA gurus can figure out a way to create a tasks tab.
count me in for a donation
I'll be willing to contribute to a tasks tab!
I'll donate too, 10-20 dollar if you can make something like alt-tab in windows for the touch pro, maybe use the capacitive touch(multitouch) for the alt tab, and when i slide my finger across that, i can select the program.

I'm not sure I understand but a programs tab is already out there (like when you go into the original programs tab and hit the all programs button)
I'll donate 10$ as well

What I want is the ability to quickly switch between all the program I have running. If i'm using opera and have say, media player running in the background, right now, I have to go to "Home", than use the HTC Task Manager to switch to media player.
If there is an easier way, that'll be great, but I have been doing it that way all this time.
Hahahaha... I cancel my donation - I was thinking about "tasks" as "things to do", not "running programms"
Ok - let me clear things up since I started the thing
I want a task tab as in 'things to do'
Like linked to the 'Tasks' program
You kno - that program that's a part of outlook.
NOT something to show running programs!
To me that just sounds excessive...

try "task facade"
I have a fuze, so I set the ptt button, but you can set the long-send key as it, and it'll do a x1 style overview of windows
I have a question about the tad too, I've seen nice interfaces with a calendar tab, for whatever reason my ATT Fuze didn't come with a calendar tab, you can click calendar from the home page but it brings up the default calendar instead of the pretty calendar I've seen in other screen shots, is there maybe a cab out there to install but he calendar tab to my stock Fuze TF3D?
Thanks!!
Heres a screenshot of what I'm missing (note mines not a black theme its the default ATT Fuze gray theme)

$10*
Put me down for $10 provided that it is a tab, not a SecondToday kind of thing, and that the task display is a la TodayAdenda not just the original MS today tasks plug in.
Weird that this hasn't been done already considering how many people want it as, though I am not a programmer, it doesn't seem like it is that complicated a modification given some of the other things XDA folk have produced.
bump...............
OK, since it's for the "things to do" tab, I'll pay 10 bucks for it eventually
This is my most awaited feature. Not having easy access to tasks is a huge inconvenience. I do not understand why this was not a default tab...
Has there been a solution to this problem yet?
no... Just wishful thinking I guess...
$100 anyone???? (sarcasm btw)
I am pretty sure you cant do this from xml editing alone. I think you would need the source code for tf3d. I could add the function in the source code and then edit xml. Does any one have tf3d reversed engineered or is the source code released?

A note to all cookers

Windows bottom menu tabs.
I would be grateful if COOKS could put a little more though into what tabs are placed at the bottom as I dont think these can be changed.
For instance, why put a phone button on there?, why a WIFI button, contacts, etc when these are already duplicated in other screen menus.
Of course this can be subjective but a little more thought could make a good ROM a great one.
For me the most useful tabs are, task manager, programs and menu.
Please note that I do appreicate all the hard work that is done on these ROMS, all of which done free of charge, I hope this thread doesnt sound ungrateful, it isnt meant to.
It is very easy to change if you don't like the one that is there...
really, I have never found an "easy" way without hacking the ROM, it there setting somewhere that doesnt require reg hacks?
in his topix ROM, kwbr has included Softkey Manager to change the button setting...
P/S: not sure if this works for those WM 6.5.x ROMs (just in case you are) but i been using this to change the softkeys...

did you use our dear search function? of course they can be modified, tell me any tweak program that CANNOT do this - as well as editing it on your own isn't too hard ...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila, there HomeLSKPath, Text, same for RSK
Search is your answer. These can be changed easily....see posts above

HELP... I ****ed up!

I am a normal user with pretty ok hang on general computing, but I got in way above my head. I sincerely hope someone will give aid.
Originally I was just looking for a way to 1) get my "tasks" to show on the HTCs interface start screen together with calender appointments and a way to record my phonecalls.
During my search I found some tweak-pack that did lord knows what. Among other things it added the options to record phonecalls, but only in wav and on main memory though.
Unfortunately it also made manila work in landscape mode, which I dont like. It flips over everytime I tilt my phone the slightest and I see no use for it actually.
I then downloaded some registry editor and tampered with some "enable landscape" setting under local user/software/manila and changed the value to false". After rebooting my phone still tilts and I cant find the command anymore in the registry. What did I do wrong?
I even uninstalled the tweak pack, which just made the record option dissapear again but the landscape rotating persists.
I also realized that adding the command again is easier said than done. Appearntly it takes much more than just writing it as I need to insert strings, dwords and whatsnot, and I have absolutely no clue about what is what.
Now Im even worse out than before. I have no record option any more, and the manila interface is still tilting. I still havent found a tweak or app that can add tasks to the manila homescreen.
Can someone help me disable the landscape rotaing, point me to a crash course for "phone-tampering illeterals" or recommend some way to get the two sought for features? Especially the call-recording preferably to memcard and mp3 is highly needed. First priority is to stop the screen from tilting though.
Oh please.. Help me out /cry..
about the manila rottion u can disable it by using td2 tools 3 in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=536410
sadly that is only what i can help
hard reset your phone and that's it

Unfortunately if you tampered with the registry and did not save a backup, you will need to hard reset to get it back.
As Mohamed stated, TD2Tools will fix your rotation issue.
As far as incall recorder, here's the cab but you'll have to search on how to configure it.
I have not used it, so I cannot verify its functionality.
**Also, please edit your title to remove profanity, as it can only be implied here.... **
Hi,
I can verify- it works.
I use it and Resco Audio Recorder (paid) to record it in format i want (MP3 too) and there i want (phone or memory card)
1. Hard Reset
2. Install a ROM which has option to record a call
Thanks for the help guys. I never tried installing roms. Is there a list somewhere and some instructions on how to do it? Is it reversable without loosing everything on your phone?
With the tools recommended earlier will fix the rotation, the worst problem is averted. I still hope for some way to get a todo-list on my main screen without the cost of uninstalling Manila. But maybe thats not possible?

Read the wiki for flashing for newbies.
It is not reversable and you will loose all your data as well as your warranty if you screw it up.
Not many have been able to flash HardSPL lately which is the precursor to flashing a ROM so good luck with that, you'll probably end up having to pay for it, but it is well worth it.
All questions about flashing should be direct to that thread for maximum exposure and make sure to search and read first before you ask.
There are options on your current ROM to install a Second Today program and toggle between Manila and 2nd Today where you can add your todo list.
Note: not every registry hack is restorable by a hard reset.
