Im currently running a 8925 with Dutty's 6.1 dual touch ROM. I have two specific problems.
1) My sent messages are timestamped properly, but my received messages are usually hours off (4)
2) My text messages dont seem to receive right away?
When your phone is in standby/locked mode does it not receive/alert you of new SMS? It seems i only receive them when I bring the phone out of sleep.
Any help with these odd problems would be appreciated.
Maybe the other person's phone clock is not correct. Is it all text messages or just from one specific sender?
No I just tested it and all incoming texts are timestamped as exactly 4 hours off.

Searched around and couldn't find an answer. My problem is that if I'm not around the phone and receive an SMS, I don't get re-notified that there is a new one. So sometimes I'll have one from like an hour before, and then the only way I know it's there is by checking the phone manually.
I have no problem receiving the initial notification. I'd just like it to keep notifying me until I check it. My old phone (a Motorolla V600) did this, and it's like 5 years older than the Tilt and not even comparable in terms of capabilities so I would imagine the Tilt could do this as well. Here's my phone info in case it has anything to do with it:
Dutty Apr. 16 ROM
Radio 1.58.11.07
I'm also using Slide2Unlock V1.00 if that makes a difference too. Like I said before, I have no problem receiving the initial notification, even when Slide2Unlock is running.
Thanks.
Not sure of you mean re-notified of new one as in initial message or subsequesnt messages so I'll hit both.
You can try one of these to make it keep repeating alarms:
AlarmPal
http://www.pocketmax.net/alarmPal.html
DontForget
http://magazin.softimage.cz/dontforget/app-description/
If you were talking about notifications on subequent messages then:
I tried sending myself multiple txt messages. Sent one and the message alert notification sounded. Waited a little bit and sent another to see if there would be an alert notification or not and it worked perfectly fine and annouced the new message arrival. I tried it both with and without S2U2. Not sure why your doesn't work for you.
I'm running the ROM here:
**NEW** [05/11/2008] ATT 19213 build with 1.65.20.29 radio
Rom without ATT Customizations - OS only!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391708
http://rapidshare.com/files/114286810/NO_ATT_19213.rar
I was referring more to an outstanding message. Meaning one (or more) that I haven't checked yet. What I basically want is when I have at the least 1 SMS that hasn't been checked, I will keep being notified.
I'll give those programs a try and see if they work. Thanks.
Edit: DontForget does exactly what I want it to and I think it's working with Slide2Unlock. The only way I tested it so far was to send a message to myself, so when I received the message Slide2Unlock wasn't enabled since there were literally only a few seconds between the time I sent the message and when I received it. So after 30 seconds, Slide2Unlock started up and I had the icon showing me I had one new SMS. After 2 minutes, DontForget notified me that I missed the SMS. I'll just need to test by having someone else send me a text message when I know Slide2Unlock is already running to see if I get the same results, but I'm pretty sure that I will. Thanks again.
Hey guys, i'm trying to find the answer to this problem. I have a sprint touch diamond. For some reason at times my text messages get delayed anywhere from an hour to many hours...but even worse my phone calls, at times, aren't comming it. If i restart my phone, then generally my text messages come in, and if i make a phone call, then voicemails and text messages come in. It seems that somehow the radio is getting shut off, or put into standby. And thats why when i make a phone call the connection is established again. Does this make sense to anyone? Any suggestions? My phone is unlocked using a cooked rom running the latest sprint radio flashed from ppcgeeks
Hello, I was wondering if there was a developer out there who would be able to solve this little issue. On the Fuze, when you dnt have service, and try to send a txt message, it just says, cannot send, and sends it to your drafts folder. Now when you re-connect, it doesnt send the messages in your draft folder, so you forget about them, and never send them... Could it be possible to make a tweak or program that at each re-connect, the phone checks the drafts, and if there are any un-sent messages, it will send them? I will be happy to buy someone some lovely coffee for their services. Thanks.
i second that. i have poor reception in my command center and im constantly drifting in and out of service and not sending texts
BUMP... Anyone??
I would like this too!
Could be very nice!
i fourth that request.
YES!! Please. This is very annoying if you're in basements often.
I also would like that...!!!!
It seems all the chefs are busy....
=(
what we need is a program that will allow incoming messages to come in altho the last txt wasnt sent.
what happens is, when you realize you havnt been getting texts for the past hr you take a look at you texts and see that the last text couldnt be sent which prevents incoming texts.
Oh i really need this. At my dad's house signal is patchy so i have to wait for my TP to find signal before i can repush send... bugs the f..k into me.
Yes please!

Well, I don't think that is the way we should go. Sometimes I get 25 messages in one hour, sometimes 2 a day. And I would have to go into the messages folder to see that the last message didn't get sent but was put in the drafts folder.
I would be more then happy to kick in a few bucks to the person willing to work on this.
Hey guys,
I have an unlocked HD7 from Bell and I'm using it under Rogers right now. I have a problem where my incoming SMS are behind by 5 hours. (They come right away but the stated time on them is off by 5 hours).
I tried fiddling with the timezone settings to match the times but then it messes up my calendar times.
Does anyone know if there is a fix for this?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Joey
Anyone figure this out?
I am 2 hours out (thinking it has to do with where the Bell SMS center is located)
hoping someone can figure out a fix
I am in Calgary, AB, Canada and using Fido if that makes a difference. I am thinking I could update to a different ROM, anyone know if that will work and what ROM I should choose?
thanks in advance
This is a known issue at Microsoft i mentioned it to them when i went there for an interview as well the only way to fix it is by doing the following.
1) goto Settings> Date & Time>
2) Turn off "set automatically"
3) Set Time Zone to "UTC Coordinated Universal Time"
4) Manually enter the correct time in the "Time" field
5) Adjust the date if you have to.
And Save and restart your phone this should fix the issue its not an actual fix but it works.
Well I took your advice and changed the timezone to UTC - 03 (then manually set the time)
Seems to have done the trick; will just have to remember to adjust for time zones I guess
thanks
Wait; spoke too soon
that messed up all the times for my email, the emails are all time stamped 3 hours in the future.
Oh well, guess I will just never have that "Perfect" phone.
Just annoying as this HD7 is probably the best phone I have ever had but there are so many of these annoyances...

What email are you using on the device? Outlook or just a standard Hotmail / Live acct? I will be unlocking my Bell HD7 very soon to use it on Rogers as well and I do not use Outlook so if the fix above sorts out the TEXT issue and does not bother my "Hotmail / Live" email then I will be a happy man however... I dont really use my email on my phone that much anyways so I guess as long as this fixes the SMS timestamp issue then I should be fine.
At any rate... If you could let me know anyways I would appreciate it.
***EDIT*** I tried this today after unlocking my Bell HD7 and running it on Rogers and it did not work at all. Now instead of the time stamp being 4 hours slow, it is now 2 hours fast using Universal Coordinated Time (UTC). Anyone else know how to get a proper time stamp on SMS after unlocking and using on a different network?
I just gave up and am now licing with a 4 hour tamestamp issue on my text.
my email, calendar and everything else works so this is just something I guess I have to live with. Not that bad
Email via hotmail & yahoo using the WP7 email program
My EVO does the same thing. Only when my cousin sends MMS he's on cricket. It has also done it when the towers messed up in my area.

Ya... Same with me. I gave up as well and am now living with the timestamp issue on my texts, mms, etc... My outgoing texts go out at the right time and are being received by the recipients at the right time but when I receive a text it is out of wack.
What I dont understand is that when I get a text and I get the "toast notification" at the top of my phone, the time stamp there is CORRECT but when I open my messages and look at the actual message itself it is out of wack. WEIRD!!!
Does yours do this as well?
Hey everyone. I just got my global unlocked Mi Mix (6gb, 256gb), and I can't receive texts. I'm on At&T, and I'm getting 4g VoLTE all the time. I can send texts, and I can make and receive calls, but I'm not getting any texts that are sent to me. I've tried switching to 3g, and I've tried the stock messaging app, Google Messenger, and Textra. Nothing has fixed the problem. I really want to keep this phone, but I have to be able to receive texts.
Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have this same problem. To make matters worse - mine happens intermittently too. For example, sometimes I could be texting someone and receive some of their texts, then suddenly a few texts in I no longer get their responses. Not sure what's going on.
I suspect it has to do with the Contact Manager APK, but not sure how or why.

Are you on ATT? And if this is a software issue, putting on a custom ROM might resolve it. I guess.
I've got texting working now. I did two things and I don't know which is the solution.
First, I put my sim in an ATT phone I had laying around. I sent some texts and took some calls on that phone. Then I put the sim back in my phone while wifi was turned off. I did this whole thing because I saw a thread on an ATT forum regarding the same SMS issue but with a different phone. The ATT moderator suggested doing those steps.
Second, I downloaded Pulse and set it as my default SMS app. So far, texting is now working without any problems.
I cannot receive sms
