Apparently, you are supposed to be able to add Yahoo contacts to Live Messenger and vice versa. However, Live Messenger won't accept Yahoo contacts. I'm using Windows Live in Dutty's 6.1 Hybrid, which I believe is the latest Windows Live version.
Has this functionality been added to Live Messenger for Mobile yet or is it coming in an update? Or am I doing something wrong?

Use a windows client to add a 'cross user', yahoo or WLM. Both need to be V8+ for adding each others users.
Devtone Hello!
Encountered the same problem. Can you describe in detail, with examples, the solution to this problem.
Thanks!

When I go to setup my hotmail on my Tilt using the default messaging program, just as I had it on my 8525, it wont let me. Gives me a link to Windows Live's web site. WTF?!?
Same here. Wonder what's up with that. From what I understand, Hotmail does not use standard POP/IMAP mail either, so you can not enter the settings manually.
Go Find the additional CAB files
For some reason, At&T didn't add the windows Live services. Once you install that, Outlook Mobile will let you set up MSN or Hotmail accounts.

hi, i installed windows live and the outlook still does not let me set up my hotmail account as it was in prevous version of wm, is there any way around ?
cudo
you set up your hotmail through the windows live site that it forwards you to then after you have done that you'll see your hotmail account listed in your messages program.
for some resons it does not work for me. i have got windows live installed on my device VARIO III and when i go to messages and setting up new account it forwards me to the windows live website so i go there and all it lets me do is just read my email. once i will sign out and press "finish" new account does not appear in my pocket outlook.
are you sure you are not using hotmail with pop/smtp ?
cheers

when I installed Windows Live software and logged into the software it setup my hotmail account in outlook for me, I never had to go to the add account in outlook. You cannot manually add it because it is supported by windows live software. I would try reinstall windows live and then log in and check your mail once through it. After that you should be able to hit the mail icon on your phone and it take you to hotmail in outlook.
Installing Windows Live from the CAB Sticky Fixed this for me. Thanks for the heads up!
yeah, there was a problem some versions of windows live...the one from the sticky is a fixed version...
ok all is good now. installed the fixed version from the sticky and after having it set up i got my windows live account in outlook
cheers for the pointers
Hello
Saw on a danish website that there is a new Windows Live for windows mobile out.
v10.6.0042.1900
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/mobile/wl/download-en-us.mspx
But i was not aware of that MSN not was a part of the installation.
This software does not include Windows Live Messenger. Please inquire with your mobile operator about Messenger access.

Im pretty sure my provider doesen´t have anything.
Where can i find messenger?
I've searched and can't figure out what the straight answer is. I have an ATT Tilt and want to upgrade to WM 6.1, however I would also like to use Live messenger chat and hotmail sync. Do both work under 6.1? I've seen conflicting posts about wether chat works- is anyone using it on ATT? I realize messenger doesn't come with the build of 6.1 supplied by ATT.

This one should work for you.
Thanks it worked!!
Take a look at Agile Messenger too. This uses data rather than text messages to communicate. This keeps your text message count down if you do a lot of "texting".
Too bad Agile Messenger ain't free. And it's dependent on Agile's server I believe. The beta I tried was.

Thanks a lot man..........
it is really useful
I use a program called "slick" and it's awesome. You can run pretty much any messager from it.
I'd recommend palringo. It's just like IM+, but its free and you can send pics + voices over the chat window!

I've been using Beejive. It's still in beta, but it does just about every Instant Messenger protocol available.

Very cool thanks guys I too was looking for some FREE IM programs for my TIlt.
I have try hd7 for three days and I didn't see msn messenger app on the phone??!no messenger??!! that is so funny.what is mircosoft thinking
agree
I totally agree,
Don't get me wrong, I love the HD7 and I'm warming up to WP7, but Microsoft does have some disturbing Omissions from their OS.
MSN messenger is one of em'. RDP is another one. But I agree with you that the omission of an integrated MSN messenger is absolutely bizarre.
There is a official MSN Messenger App by Miyowa.
I do agree that's it's odd Microsoft did not do it themselves and farmed it out to a 3rd party. Seems rather strange.
If there any TBA for Live Messenger from Microsoft for Windows Phone 7?
Any news?
Live Messenger from Miyowa is the Official App confirmed my Microsoft ...... End of Story
althought I wished they had a yahoo messenger or atleast where the live messenger ran continuously
what the !?!??!?
