Is it possible?
Yes. With todayshrink you can get rid of the Softkeynames on todayscreen and get this space free for e.g. todayagenda.
And yes - on all other apps the softkeytext is shown again.
And yes - the softkeys on today work, when pressing the related hardwarebutton.
OK - you have to keep in mind what is located on the hardware/softkey button - haha
I like it....
Just what I needed, My agenda fits perfect now!

2) LakeridgeSoftware wisbar advance 3 {shareware}
3) SBSH iLauncher 3.1 onwards(not sure about this, but, i guess it does) {shareware}
edit: hey! that is actually VJtoggletoday with the name changed

I tried without success several softwares to hide the softkeynames :
- Wisbar Advanced : the functionality "hide the softkeys" does not work
- Todayshrink and dcinobar : they hide the softkeys but finally the space is not free (it just hides)
- VJtoggletoday(alpha) works but it hides both taskbars !
Can someone help me to hide just the bottom taskbar ?
I have a HTC P3600 with WM5

look at my Screenshot..... the space is used.....
when you see little icons in bottombar than the "tray" like systray on PC is running. then the space cannot be used by todayshrink.....
Actually with Todayshrink the taskbar is hidden. But my systray disapears on screen... Is it normal?

you do not need to hide softkeys when you still use the systray.... that makes no sense....
so it should hide the systray....
I am sorry not to be clear.
Normally the systray is located just over the bottom taskbar, right?
When i used Todayshrink, the taskbar was hidden but also the systray !! I thought that the systray would be at the same place than the bottom taskbar!
Here is a screenshot.
The taskbar has disappeared but there should be my systray at bottom

Why??
The systray will not appear when using todayshrink.....
It is for getting more space on today...
Ok, so there is no possibility to have more space by hiding the taskbar but also keeping the systray?

if you activate in Battery Status the trayIcons you have the sysbar back

I activated the trayIcons in batterystatus but it didn't work
Maybe because I'm in WM5?
I think the TouchFlo 3D is fantastic for "showing off" your Touch Diamond, but it's a bit gimmicky, and slightly cumbersome, so I'd like to be able to turn it on and off when it suits me.
Out of the box, to do this you need to go into the homescreen settings and select TouchFlo 3D, or, deselect it, and reselect all your usual homescreen plugins - a bit of a pain.
However, I've realised that browsing to the "Manilla exe" in the Windows directory turns on the TouchFlo without affecting your homescreen plugins. If you then kill the manilla process using a a Task Manager which shows processes, you're straight back to your normal homescreen. I've made a shortcut in the Start Menu so I can toggle between the two relatively quickly and easily.
But, I'm looking for some clever person out there to make a simple app which toggles between TouchFlo 3D and normal homescreens at the press of a button. I'm sure it can't be that difficult (for someone who knows what they're doing)??!! It just needs to launch the Manilla exe and then kill it when you want to turn it off.
Anyone fancy having a go?
Cheers
Simon.
It is possible to toggle between spb mobile 2 screens and touchflo 3d though.
Kill Manila.exe
Has anybody come up with an automated(one click) way of killing the Manila.exe process ?
Mortscript
Create a script with Mortscript to check for the presence of manila.exe.
If not present, start it.
If present, kill it.
Create a shortcut to the script in \Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Assign this shortcut to button 1.

thought thats called SecondToday?
ToggleManila.mscr
I have the same problem, that I want to turn on TouchFlo 3D, but still want to keep my "Classic" Today Screen intact.
Although I tried SecondToday, however it cannot display the internal plugins such as Tasks, Calendar and Date
Thanks to wensing's suggestion, I created this simple script. If you want to run the script, please follow the instructions below.
a) The first thing you need to do is to disable the TouchFLO 3D from Today Panel Plugins, then activate your favourite Today Plugins (except TF3D)
b) Install MortScript
c) Put the "ToggleManila.mscr" in any folder you prefer.
d) Create a shortcut to this script, name it (eg. ToggleToday.lnk) and put the shortcut inside the folder "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".
e) Go to Settings->Buttons, and simply assign "Button 1(Hold)" to point to the ToggleToday shortcut.
Of course you are free to experiment with other settings or assign it any other buttons.
Another thing to note is, because TF3D will "take over" the Home hardware button, I have no choice but to kill it, so that the classic Today Screen can be activated after TF3D is killed. However this also means the next time you activate TF3D, it will take some time to load. So please be patient and wait for the TF3D while it is loading.
Anyway, this is my first attempt at using MortScript, just a simple piece of work, but hope that I can bring some joy to my fellow Diamond users.
Hope that it works for you guys
Thanks Wensing
The mortscript suggestion works perfectly.
I am running SwiftBL 3.0, and when I launch the script, TouchFLO3d restarts automatically. Does this script work only on roms that have uninstallable manila?
Or do I have to edit some registry settings so that manila doesn't restart automatically?
when I try and assign a button there are no buttons to select in my menu, any ideas why?
Uncheck TF3D

So far, I am using Settings->Buttons and I assign "ToggleManila" to Button1(Hold). By default this may have been assigned to other programs such as Voice Commander etc. Just replace it with "ToggleManila".
I am not familiar with other more advance programs that allow u to assign it to the other hard buttons, so I am sorry I can't advice u on that.
By the way, u might have to create a shortcut that points to the actual file where u place the ToggleManila.mscr, and then u put this shortcut (I simply name it ToggleManila.lnk) inside Windows->Start Menu->Programs before u can select "ToggleManila".
See if it works.
This works great, thanks everyone involved!
I find it better than 2nd Today because the device is much quicker without manila running.

I'm using Dutty's Diamond v1.8 (full) and used to have speed problems when launching applications, particularly after using the audio player.
TF3D is alright but it doesn't actually do anything that special. The weather screen is pretty but most of the other screens are useless, especially the horribly limited 'favourite contacts'. Now that I've got used to the standard windows today screen I prefer it.
I'm looking forward to trying out Schap's TouchXperience though!
that's work very nice
now we must wait for TFL3D tasks and who knows how this thing will be
this works great with the manila2D with the touch. One question though. The script kills the manila2D very quickly, but it does take several seconds for it to run it; any way of speeding that up?
thanks for the script
work very well
thanks for the script. great work
As Leekg has mentioned you can use TF3D and SPB Shell together.
I have left TF3D as it is and installed the SPB Shell as well. On the home screen have reprogrammed one of the Soft keys to SPB Menu -- touching that takes me to the Shell. Closing it brings me back to TF3D!
I do have a question though -- is there any way of changing the default msic player to windows media?
Hi, I gues if there is a task switcher to move from one opened apps to another without going to the home key... liche with the little drop down you have in the top right corner. Maybe I can access it even when it's not displayed but I don't know how...
thank you for the help...

taski switcher - task manager
I'd rather prefer a task switcher - task manager like xperia panels (or like aspecto software's dynamo 2) with ehanced graphics and nice 3d view...
Would it be possible on diamond? anyone can develop something like that?
Cheers
The best task manager (IMHO) is without a doubt WKtask:
http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
Works just like windows then.. can switch between running apps quickly and easily with a single touch.

but only if you have the task bar in view.
ex: if you are in navigation full mode, then you haven't a taskbar. so how do you want to switch with obe single click ?
i use searching for a small tool which switch to all tasks with a hardware button - so it had to be a single programm which switch - it is not necessary to show windows, blabla, ---- only switch ...
if i found a perfect tool or another one guy - let me know - thanks

The Alt-Tab feature of SPB Pocket Plus will be right up your street...
...however you may find it is a dead end thanks to the Diamond's dire hardware button facilities... not only there not that many of them but tapping into them appears to be full of troubles!
Mathew
spb plus - alt-tab also not working corect - it switch sometimes in different directions to the task
it's like
Task A,B,C,D,E
1.) first press A
if you press then in the short time next the hardware button then it's switch to B, C, aso
but if you wait 2 sec. then it's switching from C -> B -> A -> E
it's a little bit crazy
PLS: i talk about the "switch to next task" -> because this is almost perfect (relly fast, but wrong/serious directions)
I have started using pbar 1.4 not 1.5 on my Touch Diamond instead of HTC task manager as :
1. It shows memory and battery life also in its popup window
2. It shows time and battery % over the battery icon in task bar
3. It can be used to switch in-between programs thro' its pop up window
4. You can have few favorite programs launched thro' the pop up window
HTC should also think on these lines
Dinesh
Exactly my point!
They are trying to keep it as simple as possible for the general public.
Geeks like us can use their advanced programs like PBar or WkTask or QuickMenu. However, too much info on the screen is confusing for John Averageuser who is just trying to decide whether to buy this or an iPhone.

I Differ.
They are making us use more programs than one like pbar for all these things. Comm Manager, HTC task manager, System status indicator like batti, battery status etc,
program launchers etc.
here whenever u launch a program simple hit fav icon in pop-up menu and it is added to your fav launchers list. You have exceptions list alo.
I just got my Fuze last week and I have seen TONS of awesome threads (thanks XDA!) but I haven't come across anything solid to replace the task manager that came with the stock rom (I haven't installed a new rom because there isn't one that jumps out at me). I had Celetask on my Dash and loved it. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendations? While Celetask was awesome on the Dash, I don't really feel like paying for the English PPC version.
I'm using HandySwitcher.
How do you disable the stock one?
Looks like I am just going to have to live with it.

You can shut it off by going to Settings > System > Task Manager > Button. Uncheck both boxes and then you can install a variety of other task managers.
I am using Implicit Software's Task Manager and Switcher. I really like on my Fuze because I have a little button at the top of each screen that let's me switch to any open app. There is also the 3D task manager which you can assign to a hardware button and it will rotate to each task.
I use pBar - it's a great little task manager.
I personally like Wktask. It's light and very functional. You can set it to a hardware button (which can't be done with HTC X-button) and bring up a quicklauncher menu with things like Close, Close All, Toggle Data Conn, and programs from Start Menu.
WkTask is the best with no contest.... http://soft.photoracer.net/docs/wktask_en.html
And I see they have a new version out!!!
WkTask gives you running application buttons to your start bar, like in your normal windows pc. And thats among other things and functions it does....
Ditto for WkTask

I like Wktask, but it has a strange quirk to it when TF2D or TF3D is enabled. In the task bar, there is a generic window icon that I can't seem to remove or hide when Wktask is enabled. Does anybody else have this problem?

A while back, i started off with the HTC Task Manager and then switched to Wisbar Lite. With HTC's neweset Task Manager, i went with it instead of Wisbar Lite.
Are there any finger-friendly solutions other than the HTC manager?
WKTask's built in brightness control doesn't work on Raphael, at least not when I tested a few weeks back. Anybody have luck getting that to work?
