I want to install WM 6.5 on my ATT tilt 8925. I just want to know what ROM and what Radio Version I can use, because the radio version is 1.65.21.18. I live in Puerto Rico and I don't know if I change the radio he can still work.
You can use any ROM as long as you are Hard-SPL'd and regards Radio it will come down to many variables and only you will be able to find best ROM/Radio combo..

Wouldn't it be great if one could just indicate where they need the phone to work, and a list of radios could be listed for that location?
I know it is simplistic. Getting tired as I age!

Ain't that the truth, funny thing is that all of the radios I have flashed work in my area. Even the japanese one, just some better than others.
Hi
I try to unlock the phone with JumpSPL 1.56, 1.93, and 1.94, and Kaiser-HardSPL-3.56 and 3.29, and the phone don't install anything. It could be that my phone is refurbish?? What other options do I have?
I here you. Just so you know and are prepared. I have been flashing for 1 month straight and I cant get my phone to stay connected with anything other than the stock ROM. Not sure why but be prepared for a long battle. I have almost every radio available. Works for a day then dropped calls and network over and over.
I have a refurb and flash all the time. Follow instructions carefully and refer to sticky and wicki for help.

All of them work for a limited time in my area. Then after about 24-48 hours I have trouble with all.
Its frustrating!
I was looking into whether some of my GPS problems were due to the radio I was using.
I'm using the last official Sprint radio (which I believe was 3.35). I have seen that some people have been using 3.42.50.
Two questions, first how do I determine what radio I am using if I have android on the NAND and second, would updating the radio improve GPS reception?
Most people use 3.42.50 with AGPS Fix(Assisted GPS) using data. Search vogue agps. Its a process that you will need to do using windows mobile. It will give you gps locks in 5 to 15 sec rather than 30 sec to a minute. You can update the radio without doing the fix. Im not sure how to determine your radio with android. sorry. Not saying there isnt a way
EDIT: Sorry agps is verizon only
Most people in the WinMo forums say 3.42.50 improves reception, some say it doesn't.
I'm on Sprint and I use 3.42.50. Been using it for a long while now, certainly haven't had issues. It's the one I use when doing development on the GPS driver.
honestly after messing with the radio in WM (everyone claiming better results with the bell radio .45, so I had to try it), and not noticing any favorable differences, I ended up back with my factory vzw 3.37.78 radio, which "seems" to work the best for me, yet like I said, almost no difference was noted.
That being said, android "should" not be any different in terms of radio.. as I'm still on the same vzw radio with great gps results running android.
NAND with mssmison's 2.1 build (currently)
xv6900 from verizon (vogue)
** same results with other builds as well
edit: I did not seem to find any negatives to the "upgraded" radio either.. so it doesn't hurt to try, but don't expect the world, as it might not change anything
You're on sprint so you do not need to worry about the aGPS fix either, that's only for vzw vogues

yep, vzw is the only one that decided to lock down the gps so you'd buy vz navigator, but the developers here of course found a way around it!

I think U.S Cellular locks gps too, you just don't hear about it in here. I have never noticed a difference between 3.37.78,3.42.30 or 3.42.50. I run 3.42.50 cus I'm cool like that! lol
So, is the only way to upgrade the radio to reflash winmo? I found the .nbh but it wouldn't flash the normal way.

touché! I did not know that about us cellular..
so yeah, what he said..
edit: I've never flashed a radio without using the "radio rom" with WM 6.1 from a carrier... BUT it is possible to flash the radio only, you just might spend more time looking for the .nbh you need to flash..
I recommend just flashing the stock bell wm 6.1 rom to flash the radio, making sure to not let customizations run, then back to android
I'm running 3.42.30 from Sprint.
I never experienced any problems with this version and as they always say. If it ain't broke.. Don't fix it.

Who's your carrier?
The radio you should run has nothing to do with the carrier. All these radios are vogue compatible. The only thing you need is a gps ready radio.
Here is the 3.42.50, 3.42.30, radio only nbh's. These Radio's are gps ready and are not carrier specific
These are radio only roms designed to be flashed from bootloader from sd card and doesn't require a hard reset. Copy VOGUIMG.nbh to root of fat32 micro sd card and place phone in bootloader and it will run.

Note that these aren't compatible with SDHC cards or the RUU. Just clarifying in case somebody was gonna try.
I'm using 3.42.40. It seems better at holding sats than .50. the .50 version is very "jumpy" when watching a GPS test app.

negative, he was stating that you could not use a SDHC to flash the radio
I never heard anything about sdhc limitations. The only thing I heard was in order to flash from sd it needed to be under 2 gb.
Hello,
My name is Brian, I'm a member here obviously.... Had the username BFielding a while back, registered in 2007 if I remember correctly, but can't access or retrieve password for that account, different email now, so now I'm BFielding80...
Heres my problem... I can't get SH!T for help on this site, maybe because it's so overloaded, or maybe some a$$hole said dont help this person.... IDK
All I know is I ask a question and they RARELY get answered.... I'm at the point I'LL ****1N PAY U TO ANSWER MY QUESTION, I'VE BEEN ASKING THE SAME [email protected] QUESTION LONG ENOUGH...
I need radio help. I'm rooted, I run all the ROMs, always Froyo based.... I've never updated my radio from what it came with.... I have radio 32.26.00.24H_4.04.00.03_2
I haven't updated because I don't want to kill my AT&T 3g.... I've read that the TMo Froyo radio will kill my AT&T 3G so thats why I left my radio alone.... But now I'm reading that the newer radios are compatible either way, so I want to upgrade it.
I know I can go back if it does kill my 850/1900, but I would rather someone to just please just recommend me a radio as well as link, I'll adb it myself...
I need a radio for best 3G and battery life would be a plus, but 3G is more important, in my area I drop to edge frequently...
THE PERSON WHO HELPS ME WILL RECEIVE $10 US DOLLARS VIA PAYPAL
Thanks,
Brian
Well, I don't want your money but you should be fine flashing this new radio (32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04). Some people say they get improved battery life and some don't. Most seem to get better reception.

There is where you will get the newest radio image, it is identical to the one found in the Desire 2.2 update. You do not have to update HBOOT if you do not want to, though I could be wrong on that one, though I didn't have to when I did.
If you do not want this version of the radio as some people have trouble with it you can flash the radio that was uploaded by enomther:

So there are two 2.2 radios you could flash. The newer one does give you better reception though, I use the 4.06 one though, if you were curious.

Works well. Just one off those trial and error things. If you re on edge instead of 3g try the *#*#4636#*#* trick just remember if u you use wcdma only and lose 3g u lose all service and have to change back to wcdma preferred. Good luck...

The ROM shouldn't affect your reception to my knowledge. You may have different APNs set and that could cause issues but even that is a stretch.

you should not see any major difference between the two radios when it comes to battery life. i've been using 5.08 since it came out, i have a much more stable signal and battery life is the same for me.
you can also downgrade ur radio whenever you want... just flash the old radio through recovery... you'll be ok
Fastboot is, IMO, the most reliable way to flash a radio. I would rather not leave a brickable upgrade/downgrade up to a script, but that's just my paranoia kicking in. lol.

Well I just flashed over to CM 6.2 Extreamly Blue and I noticed a few things....
My reception seems to constantly go from Full, to none, then Back to full, all the while switching between 3g and 1x. But only in my house. My mom has a non rooted htc hero with the same PRL and her service follows the same pattern but it doesnt drain her battery like it does mine.
Any suggestions of what to do?
mine does that sometimes to on stable 6.1 but it don't affect my battery

Try going to the latest rooted 2.1 sense rom and updating your prl and profile a few times. Also you can try flashing a diff radio I use a Verizon radio because it gives me better service where I live. And lastly, the service bars on aosp/cm6 roms NEVER show correct signal anyways.

How do I flash a different radio? I know for a FACT that Verizon provides better service where I live. Also, once I do this, is it reversible once I do this?
Second..... Can I flash from 6.2 down to 6.1 WITHOUT wiping? Or would it best to go to my backed up 2.1 update my prl then do a fresh flash to 6.1.

For a fact verizon has better signal in my area as well. Lets start by saying people flash radios because they can provide different signal and or battery boost. You have to try diff radios to see how results go I have about 5 radios on my sdcard and i gave them about a day of use to test each. One way to check is to go to cm settings and select user interface, then status bar and from there check show dbm(signal strength) and hide the signal bars. Coverage is so bad in my home but the desire radio jumps my home signal from -110dbm to about -76dbm which is really good compared to 110. Anything over -90dbm isnt really good coverage. You can flash these radios from any rom just need to be rooted. BE really careful though i have a cdma hero which means cmda radios only. If you flash a radio from a gsm phone/hero you WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE. You can do this from a sense rom if you want but im just on cm6.1 stable. And to answer your last question, it is very reversible; you can flash radio after radio like I have done but once again just be careful not to flash any gsm radios. Hope this helps man.
Heres the radio i use, i recommend for best results give each radio about a day
http://geekfor.me/hero/radios/baseband-232401109/
This is how to flash a radio
http://geekfor.me/faq/flash-radio/
That site has a handful of cdma radios that would work on your cdma hero just browse around. Theres also a new radio thats hanging around one of these threads (.29 radio) but it doesnt help much cause coverage sucks like the (.27) stock radio. To check which radio you are on just go to settings then about phone, then it says it under BASEBAND version.
The list of known radios/basebands:
1.04.01.09.21 (old 1.5)
2.32.40.11.09 (eris/desire)
2.41.04.02.02
2.42.00.03.10
2.42.01.04.27 (2.1 ruu radio)
2.42.02.10.29 (newest sprint radio)

Nah your cool man, umm typically flashing a radio plays along with your PRL, some people say certain radios dont play nice with their PRL, but it has never happen to me(if it does just go to a 2.1 sense rom and try to update it with your profile and should be fine). Your PRL will remain the same; though ive been on many PRL'S and diff radios and never had any issues what so ever. As long as you are up to date with the latest PRL then your phone wont go crazy and be stuck in roaming mode lol. Some people create their own PRL's and put them in and etc. But your PRL isnt changed, just radio man if thats what your asking im kind of half asleep.

The best way and easiest is to just use rom manager download the radio then go to rom manager and install zip from SD card find the radio click on it do not wipe or anything then rom manager will boot into recovery and install then it'll turn of and on and you'll see the android Guy with a black screen then it'll reboot again and you'll see a a box with an arrow then your phone will reboot again normally and it should be installed but make sure your using clockworkmod with rom manager

Hmmm. I rather just download the radio boot into recovery and flash it myself. Seems simple enough.

2.42.02.10.29 (newest sprint radio)

damn, flashed this and still loading at CM6 boot screen
feeeeew nevermind I got it.
Lets see how good this radio is
Page just massivly updated..... ALL my questions were answered. About to flash the Verizion radio, ill post back with the results.

Just curious.... All of the radios on this site say for 2.1, even though im on CM6 2.2.1, Will i be ok if I flash the radio you provided?
Refer to my post above and yes radios work on all roms they go deeper than the rom itself so even nanding will not change it
Also, can I flash it just like a rom with Rom manager?

I got my new updated firmware that came out with 4.3 flashed on my sprint htc one flashed to straight talk verizon s-off with moonshine. What are the improvements that I"am supposed to see ????
I have had problems with all 4.3 roms and I have tried them all, my call signal most times shows zero bars when its full signal, sometimes it will go full bars but always goes back to none fast and the phone is never moved.
I thought flashing the 4.3 firmware would fix this issue but it did not.
Another thing is I use it on a verizon samsung network extender at home which its the old model the first model they came out with that was call signal only no 3g data were the newer model has 3g, but I notice it does this when I"am not home sometimes also but I have not really watched it while running errands in a good while. When I"am on the network extender when I call out or on a call received my phone will show full bars the whole time.
I think its working ok, but the no bars on my phone is annoying I mean I might as well not even have bars on my phone at all if they are not going to be accurate.
Anyone have any ideas ?

Not convinced you actually know what you're talking about. For one, the firmware version is not 4.3-- that's the ROM software version, which is very distinct from the radio version that came with the 4.3 OTA. 4.3 changed how cell signal is displayed to match the available/in-use data connection as opposed to the 1xRTT voice/text connection. Besides that, if you're using the Sprint HTC One on Verizon, you're not going to get particularly good speeds even with 3G.
If you don't like the behavior, there's probably an XPOSED module or a downgrade to 4.1 to fix that.
I dont know where your getting your info, but there are firmware downloads for people that are rooted and do not receive htc / sprint ota updates for 4.3.
Check out the following and see for yourself...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46123838
Then see either full firmware or Full Firmware w/o hboot, boot, recovery (for s-off users (thx bigdaddy619 for testing!!!)
The phone is capable of running verizon 3g just as well as sprint 3g.
Unless you have a sprint htc one on straight talk verizon like I do then you have no idea of how verizon 3g data works on a sprint htc one and you are providing an uneducated guess, which straight talk verizon 3g data speeds are not any part of this posting.
Perhaps could it be you either work for verizon or sprint and just hope to deter people from flashing their sprint htc one or any other smartphone to straight talk verizon ????
If verizon was not so much of blood sucking company trying to squeeze every penny they can from their post paid subscribers and would compete with sprint and t mobile and even more on the prepaid side where sprint mvno's get lte and t mobile prepaids get lte and even at&t prepaids get lte even straight talk at&t gets lte, but verizon will not compete and allow lte, this will all be verizons undoing, because with sprints infusion of cash from softbank they will be building lte very quickly and when sprint merges with t mobile in the near future then verizon will be strong armed to either compete or be left behind and they will be put down like a dead horse and many people like myself will love to see the day that their greediness and cockiness comes back to haunt them and they will then pay for their arrogance...

You may want to read a little. 4.3 is not the firmware version, but the ROM version. The current firmware is a 1.x release, even still.

The entirety of your complaint is you complaining about "bars" and real signal strength/speeds. The actual data behind the bars are related to both, but you don't seem to have any idea what the bars are. They represent the strength of your data radio if you're connected to data, 1XRTT if you're on a voice call.

That's cute. You can't answer a substantive question so you accuse me of being a shill. Adorable, but wholly irrelevant.

That's pretty ironic, all things considered. I've provided some of the information you were looking for (how and why signal bars may be showing as lower than before with the new firmware), but instead you've posted even more links proving you don't know what you're talking about. Neither the touch control or radio firmware version numbers are even near 4.3. Feel free to keep digging your own hole, though.

Your link proves that you don't know how to actually post links on this forum; besides that, you ignore the posts OMJ's made in the radio threads discussing what kinds of firmware are available-- and yes, those are hboot, radio, and touch. Nice try though.
As I explained jack*** its the new firmware that came with the 4.3, you work so hard to be as much of a jack*** as you possibly can be. The links show the downloads for the new firmware. Try not being such an a** you act like your such a know it all, well you can get off the high horse you think your riding and you know what you can do with your attitude, where you can put it...
You've given it a valiant effort Rirere, bravo to you sir.
Mods should probably scrap this now since the op has decided to instigate a flamewar instead of reading the threads he is linking to as "support" for his statements.

This post was not to ask your personal opinions on anything. The guy just set out to set himself as knowing everything and he does not. He could have easily read in to it and taken the high road but instead he chose to try to put down what I was asking. I dont need anyone trying to be high and mighty thinking they are better. He started things he had no right to post to begin with because he never had an intension on helping, only to try to put me down and act like he is a know it all...

I feel like a language barrier is making this worse than it ought to be..
He very clearly explained himself in his first reply to you. It might have started out a bit condescending but he promptly explained why he felt that way.
Your replies to him hint that you don't understand what he has been explaining. Try asking people to elaborate instead of name calling, it helps makes xda a nicer place to visit.

I never said anywhere on here that I dont have good signal I said that my phone just shows that I don't but in all actuality I have full signal strength the phone just does not show it unless there is a call in progress.
Anyone please do not post on this unless you can do so without an attitude and if your post is not about this subject then you should not be posting on this.

OK, here is me still being on topic.
Read his first reply again. He is correct. The signal bars you see do not represent the same thing they used to. If you don't understand what he meant, ask for more information.
If you are on a custom rom, try posting in that rom's thread, especially if signal is not displaying at all.
Hell, just post in that thread anyway since you obviously don't believe the information you've been provided here!
Based on what info you've given, I don't know how much more you'll get from anyone though...

I know for a fact that the problem is software related I dont need anyone to tell me that.
His comments were off topic, he was trying to tell me that there is no firmware update that came out for 4.3 which is wrong. Excuse me for calling it 4.3 firmware when it has its own number I dont need anyone acting like that trying to tell me things that I know are true.
I did post on elegancia rom but they the main guys run the gsm version of htc one and do not do anything on the sprint side some other guys do so the sprint support is not as kept up as the gsm stuff is.
I was only trying to figure out what problems were fixed in the new firmware if there were and fixes in call signal accuracy or anything like that.
I just dont need anyone acting like they know everything trying to tell me I"am wrong.
Almost every 4.3 custom rom for the htc one says they recommend that you upgrade your firmware which that guy was trying to tell me there is no firmware upgrade for 4.3 which there is and I posted the links for it. I dont need anyone trying to tell me something that I"am wrong when I"am not and I proved it.

Its not for just gsm, its gsm and sprint, you didnt read what I posted clearly. I said the main guys use gsm they have sprint guys that help out on the sprint support so the sprint support is not as quick to update as they have to contact the sprint guys on the sprint issues. The rom is for gsm and sprint.
