Hi,
i have been using the RSS HUB on my HTC Tytn II and i looked at who made the software it in the about settings and i see the makes have a program called NEWSBREAK 2.1 on there website so what i want to know is, is there any difference between RSS HUB and NEWSBREAK
http://www.iliumsoft.com/site/nw/newsbreak.php
the layout looks the same but i did know if there is benefit in using there version instead of the one that HTC do.

can i display the RSS feed on the today screen, is there such a plugin???
it would be cool and nice to have,,
any help ?
I'm using the excellent egress since the 1.1.0 version... (actually on the 3.40).
http://www.garishkernels.net/egress.shtml
It will give you an optional good configurable plugin on your today screen.
;-)
You could give SPB Insight a try. It has a good catalogue of RSS feeds built in and you can add your own as well.
I don't use the today screen plugin myself but it does have one that scrolls through the articles in each feed!
Cheers
Has anyone had problems with SPB Insight? I have the today screen plug-in installed and I cant find any obvious memory drain but my Kaiser does really seem to slow up when I use Insight.
(Probably got too many apps installed as usual!)

I've never gotten SPB Insight to work for any length of time on my 8525 or my Tilt. Just tried again this week. I wish it would, it's the best looking one of the bunch.
Viigo is a pretty good Rss app, its got a decent selection plus you can add your own feeds also. I got it free from the microsoft windows mobile site, its a free download as their feature offer
https://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/domore/viigo.mspx
you may have to register on the windows mobile site to download it though. ive been registered for a couple of years so im not sure if they require you to sign up or not. ive also got a few other things for free from them so its worth signing up anyway
thanks everyone ,ill try all of them and see which is best for me,,,
hi all,
im searching for 2 applications ...
1. rss reader that works with htc home ...
i found rss hub but i dont get it to the home screen (its not in the list at settings/today)
i think it was duttys ROM - theres a rss reader on the home screen
2. think it was duttys ROM, too - im searching for the possibilty to get rid of some tabs from the htc home box ... in duttys ROM as i can remember its possible to disable tabs and the nice thing was that it was a tab in the settings / today area. i tried htc home customizer but thats to big ... id love to get this tab in settings again
thanks in advance ..
ranchy
SPB is teh software used for the tabs i belive. Great program, that has some peripherals you can install also (spb diary).
Ill let someone else lecture you on searching the site before you post, simple questions.
App 1: RSS Hub
You can always find a lot of downloads in the following places:
P1Tater's space:http://www.4shared.com/dir/5967433/ce903350/sharing.html
AllTheWay's space: http://www.4shared.com/dir/5551593/20b4549a/sharing.html
Attached in this post is a CAB I found there. It should be the one you're refering to.
Might I suggest you take a look at SPB Insight? This RSS reader has a much more informative today-plugin, since it can display individual RSS feeds.

I guess you're looking for HTC Home Customizer:

Hope this helps...
hey guys,
you surely mentioned that there's a software named htc sync which you can use to sync outlook directly - without having to sync with google over the internet - with your phone.
but this software supports only the htc magic and htc hero - not the g1 (dream)
i think the software is very handy and surely a lot of people are interested in having the opportunity to use it on their g1.
my question:
can you modify the software a bit so that it can be used with the g1? or write an app which identifys the phone as a htc hero or htc magic whenit is connected with the pc over usb?
thanks
HTC sync comes with the rogers roms. You may want to try a rom based on rogers since most likely HTC sync relies on the HTC framework. It may be possible to port it though, not sure on that part
mhhh i use the cyanogenmods and i'm pretty satisfied with them - damn fast!
any other suggestions?
no ideas? really?
[email protected],
i have one big problem with my Diamond.
I want use the HTC Album with Social Networking.
But the issue is, i can´t open the htc Accountmanager in the Settings.
i have installed htc album 3.2 from this Link
http://www.everythingdiamond.info/showthread.php?t=535
in this Version works the Accountmanager, but that is not compatible with Manila 2.1, but this works only with Windows Mobil 6.5.
can anyone help me please?
Guys do any of you know if it's possible to have the HTC Hub on other branded smartphones like on the Samsung Focus?
I'm sure it will be possible at some point, but it won't be like install a .CAB file. XDA is going to have to crack WP7 to allow sideloading of apps.
I guess it's also possible that HTC added some code to their sense hub so that it will only run on HTC devices. Highly unlikely, but possible.
There's a video out there showing side loading. Took like 10 minutes for one app.
So, yea, it's possible.
can you post a link to the video?
It can be done by reg edit your device to be hd7 we done this on hd2 and it is working
