I just flashed OpenTouch 4.0 Biggy a bit earlier today onto my Wing. I love everything except for the background on the dialer. I tried putting the HTC Dialer on it but the graphics for the dial pad buttons don't show. Any suggestions?
I read that ttran is working on a fix, but would it work to just change the graphics file to a straight black image? If that'll work, do you happen to know the name and location of said image?
I just installed 4.0 biggy, I'm loving it as well!

OK so now I have the htc touch 6 tab worling well theme looks nice change icons looks really well, Now how in the heck can we change the ugly dialpad in treo 750, I know about the registry settings , but does not work in wm6. Does anyone know how to change the dialpad either to the htc or even the standard wm6 instead of the treo one. I will even take the location of the dialpad graphic file so I can change my self.

Thanks for the post fleadog99, just followed the instructions and now I have a dial skin that I can live with.
does anyone know how we can change the skin? like an HTC like skin. All skins I have tried it only changes background but not the buttons or anything else.
I use Matt_Jacksons blue theme and the new slide to answer phone canvas with the nice edition to cover the keys while in call.
However, Matt's theme came with a "kinda default" dialer and I would like to go back to the black on white original dialer to place calls.
Is there any way to do so by just replacing files?
I'm aware that the dialer in particular can be a very nasty animal... (been there done that on my Tilt).
I already tried to install PdG's VGA dialer hoping that after removal the original dialer comes back ... but .. guess you figured .. it didn't...

Edit: AFAIK the dialer is anyway skinable so an extract of the HTC dialer skin in VGA resolution would do, too. I have a Fuze so don't need video call.

Cause closed showaco extracted two bmp files from the HTC dialer. Replaced them in the Windows dir... done. Thanks showaco!

is there any build, which has not the problem with dialer going portrait, when having first keyboard slided out (phone in landscape) and then starting to type contact name ?
I tried many ROMs with additional cabs of Rhodium dialer, with no luck. Usecase when I invoke dialer first and then slide the keyboard out works fine (if dialer supports it).
Because of this problem, I'm still using energyrom titanium build from 22th September, which has not this problem and landscape mode is working in every usecase.

the dialer works perfectly for me in LS or Portrait. plus, its uber zippy, near flawless, and packed with all the new HTC stuff, including official HTC Landscape for Manila 2.5

You're right, Touch X has not this problem, but I don'like WM 6.1 (I miss titanium). If I remember, Touch-It Black Leo has the problem (dialer is in landscape, but when I'm out of dialer in portrait, I slide the keyboard first and start typing, dialer is shown and it goes portrait).
Now I flashed jerpeleas X2 with same problem. I tried late Valkyrie, Xperio, Xperia 1.5 and several others, all with same problem.

how can i get inverted menus like this on android/sense 2.3.4 roms? ive tried everything tonight to port it and while i partially got it going it seems to break my power/reboot menu. the phone freezes.
what all do i need to edit to port this?
Installed OTA yesterday. Anyone else not able to change dialer keypad from the mental hospital white? I would prefer a dark dialer keypad, which was available in Sense 6. The only option under personalize is default (white). Initially the same was true with the keyboard, but after changing themes in the new theme settings, I got other options for the keyboard that were part of those themes. Still only default for dialer keypad, and no theme change would change it either, so regardless of theme chosen I still only get white.
I looked around the forums and saw that some had the same problem with sense 7 ROMs running on M8 and M9. There was a workaround by uninstalling the dialer app, and then updating it or simply reverting back to sense 6 dialer, but I've no option to do that under the app (just force stop, no uninstall).
Kind of at a dead end in figuring it out. Don't care for the bloat of 3rd party dialer/phone/messaging apps, but might have to try one. I'm not into rooting or mods on my main communication device, and so this phone has never been anything but stock (except for apps available in the store, naturally). I did have Apex launcher as my app launcher at the time of OTA, but that should not have thrown a wrench into the update (at least I don't think it should have). My next step is to factory reset to see if that resolves it...which I'm not eager to do.
Any thoughts?

Not all themes come with keyboard recolouring...

Thanks for the reply. I tried that. None of the themes had any affect on the dialer keypad -- still just white --, even the ones that showed in the preview to do so. The keyboard was changeable with via applying themes.
Hmmmm, if it is a Sense 7 based Sense 6 ROM , it won't work, AFAIK the only official Sense 7 ROM is Stock Rooted, soon will also have Bad Boyz 4.0.
Try the stock rooted, then report back please!
I'm not running a ROM, I'm newly OTA updated with Marshmallow, so I'm stoock Sense 7. I guess I'm wondering if what I described (only white phone dialer keypad) is normal behavior for Sense 7. Like I said, I can't change the color of the phone dialer keypad from white, either in settings or themes. If this is correct behavior for stock sense 7, that's OK, and I'll explore other options by way of a phone app.

Got it to work. Don't know what the problem is. Some themes that show a change to the dialer in the preview do change it when applied, some do not. Now to find a way to edit the theme and retain the change to the dialer.
