Media Player prevents screen from turning off inreasing batt consumption - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have a Tilt and I wanted to know if this is normal or if there is a fix.
When playing music the screen will not turn off and uses up batts pretty fast. It jumps to the most dim backligh setting but is still clearly on. Is this normal or is there a music player that doesn't cause this issue?
Forgive me if this has been posted. I did a bunch of searching but there was a lot of noise regarding music skips and glitches.

I assume you are talking about the built-in Windows Media Player. In the options you can assign a button to turn the display on/off. Hope this helps.

hi there. while using the built in media player i have found that i can actually press the power button momentarily and put the device to "sleep" while still running media player. it will jump a touch but then resume. if you are using bluetooth headphones you can still control volume, play/pause and skip track. this makes the battery last much longer.

found the toggle screen option. Thanks guys!

streaming radio and sleep mode

Hi all...
Just got my Tilt a few weeks ago and thus far have been enjoying every moment. I have run into an issue that is a bit irritating, wondering if anyone has any ideas.
Streaming audio over the phone works great, but I can't figure out how to keep the music playing when the phone goes into sleep mode.
I get connected, it plays for a couple of minutes then the sound turns off along with the screen. I hit the power button to wake the phone up, the screen turns on and the music comes back. It appears that the phone is staying connected to the website, it is just the sound that goes away.
Ideally I would like to have the screen off to conserve battery power, while listening to the radio. I am having this issue when using the built in speaker and while using headphones connected through the USB port.
Any help or suggestions would be appriciated.
Yeah, I just tried it with mine and I get the same results - turning it to standby causes the music to stop but the stream seems to stay active. So, I would suggest getting a hold of a program called AE Button Plus, which allows you to remap all of the buttons on the front of the device. There are options in there to disable the standby mode when a button is pressed, and then you can turn off the screen but keep the device running with a different button press. Check it out and you'll understand what I mean, and I think that would be your best bet.
wktask
use wktask to minimize streaming apps for audio to stay on.
Speaking of AE Button Plus, also make sure you read my related Button Enhancer Bible for more tips & tricks.
In my experience, the music will still play through Bluetooth A2DP headphones when the phone goes to sleep.

Can you use the external speaker with screen off

Hi,
When I listen to mp3's, with Media Player or Audio Manager,
the playback stops when i push the power button to turn off the screen.
If I have the headphones plugged in, however the playback continues when I turn the screen off.
Does anyone know if you can use the external speaker with the screen off (sleep mode)?
Check the media players options. There you can assign "Toggle Screen" to a button.
thanx.
works for wmp but i can't find that same option in audio manager.

You'll have to use another app or duplicate the toggle screen call.
SPB Pockets plus does this, but it also does a lot of other things you may not need. Try it out, or look for Screen toggle through a search. There's a few but it's been a while since I've need anything like that.

[Q] Touchflo 3D Music Player + IDLE

hi guys
when i play music over the music tab in tf3d and the display turns off after 40 secs, the up/down and enter keys on the device also turn off.
this is kinda annoying since i often use the phone as music player in car, and everytime i want to go forward/backward or pause i have to turn on the display first.
is there any possibility to make the keys work when the display is turned off? the best would be without affecting battery too much..
thanks for your help!

Help! Media volume and not ringer adjusting from homescreen

Hey everyone. I have an issue with my phone. When i go to change my ringtone volume from the homescreen, it changes the media volume. I reboot the phone and it adjusts the standard volume for the ringtone. After a while, it goes back to only adjusting the media volume from the homescreen. Even after i use advanced task killer to kill all applications. Is there any way to fix this issue? It is becoming very annoying to have to reboot my phone 3 times a day. Thanks again!
if you have headphones in then it will change media volume, do you have your heaphones or any other device connected to you phone?
nope not at all. I mean i love the phone but this is getting crazy. I still have a worthless GPS after flashing the new files and this issue going on. I think its software related because the media volume doesnt get stuck after inserting any headphones in the jack. So i really have no idea.
same here.
Was about to post the same issue.
Somehow I get the "media volume" instead of "ringer volume".
If I reset the device it gets fixed.
If a play a game, and then exit, it gets screwed again.
Checked for any app in memory but its empty.
Whats wrong?
Thanks in advance.
The volume rocker checks for what activity you're doing currently. If you're using media player or Navigation or games, the volume will be 'Media Volume'. If you played a game and exited, and your volume stuck with the 'Media Volume', it is probably the issue with that game who didn't properly reset the environment when exited.
Note, even if you're on Home screen, if you still have those apps running, your volume will stay that way. If you want to change ringer volume, just lauch phone dialer and change there.
Thanks for your reply foxbat
Thats what I thought too. That there should be somehting in the background still running so the phone still thinks its on it so the volume would be set to media.
However, I have 0 active apps running and even when I go to phone mode the control buttons on the side still shows media volume instead of ringer.
Thanks again for your time mate.

Your issue seems to be related to a particular game you played. That's the issue with game itself.
Gonna test it out a bit more.

Volume constantly jumping up and down

Hey guys since I've owned this phone I've had constant problems with the phone automatically adjusting the volume usually way down. When not on Bluetooth it's less pronounced but still occurs, I'll turn on a podcast and the volume will drop on the phone to like 20%.
On Bluetooth, the problem becomes an absolute nightmare. Every time I switch apps, or even open new browser tabs the volume settings appear on screen and randomly jump either up or down. If I'm moving quickly between apps or browsers, this can occur multiple times (up or down) within a 5 second window. Pretty much anytime I turn on audio I have to turn the volume all the way back up.
I've disabled Bluetooth absolute volume in dev settings but don't see any other fix for this.
Also, the problem is independent of player. Spotify does it, stitcher does it, VLC does it, and pi music does it. And even when I'm connected to Bluetooth and doing nothing audio related but just switching between apps and browser it will be jumping the volume levels around and popping up the audio slider on the right side of the screen.
What Bluetooth device are you using? Perhaps it uses touch controls and they're acting up
