Does anyone know of a windows mobile audio player that can play this asf audio file. It was created from our Mitel phone system.
TCPMP may play that file
I have tried a very old version of TCPMP but not the current. It did not work. I could not find a trial version to test it. If some one has the current version could you test to see if it can play this file. Would be much appreciated. I have been trying to find a player for over 2 years that will play these types of files.
Here's my version of TCPMP
Tested with Vodafone UK (v1615) stock ROM.
TCPMP 0.81RC1 Beta
I get "Error: Player: Audio codec (Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net) not supported by the player!"
Hope that helps (or at least gives you some more information)
Thanks for the file but unfortunately it did not work. I get the error Audio codec (Sipro Lab Telecom ACELP.net) not supported by the player. Looks like I'm out of luck. We get our voicemails in Outlook and no problem opening them on the computer with windows media player but not when it is pushed to the kaiser.
The file is .asf but non of my PC based players would touch it.
It may be currupt or not a true .asf file.
Try this for all TCPMP issues

Took some video at a club last night. It's saved on my device as an MP4.
Even though I have it set to record audio as well, I can't seem to get audio to play when I watch the video in windows media player.
Is it possible the audio was recorded, but I just don't have the correct program for it to play properly?
When I copy to my PC via activesync, what program can I use for an MP4 file? Winamp and windows media player will not play the file.
thanks, I realize these are kind of newb questions.
I use Nero Showtime ... for some reason, quicktime will not play these MP4 files ... they may be formated differently.
Thanks. Are there any freeware options for playing these videos?
I wonder if this is related to the video driver issue.
download Videolan or also called VLC. Its an excellent standalone program that does not require any codecs. Its free too.
Hi!
I m trying to get my TTYN II to playback avi files but cant seem to make it happen... I've tried downloading the Core player but that gives an error saying it doest have the MPEG-4 codec? Where do I get the codec's from?
Thanks,
Neil
it shouldnt ask for mp4 codec if you are playing an avi file. different formats. did you download the latest version of core player? make sure you get the one for pocket pc and the latest version is 0.72RC1. avi works fine for me.
AVI is just a file format, it has nothing to do with the codec. So there can be MPEG4 AVIs. Actually most are (DivX and Xvid are MPEG4). MPEG4 videos don't necessarily have the .mp4 extension.
Don't know how to install the codec though, don't have a Kaiser yet lol.
If you installed the core player (http://www.coreplayer.com/) then you should be able to play avi files. What version are you using ?
Try to uninstall and reinstall it and try again.

I'll be watching for responses as I'm also wanting to play MPEG 4 files (with avi extensions - from ATI's Multimedia Centre Software on my desktop PC) on my TyTN II. I'd prefer just to use a codec to provide this functionality in the built in version of pocket media player (what I currently use for wmv files).

Many thanks!
Thank you for that format expansion cab link texarcana, and it's free too. Will try it out on Cristmas day if I have the time.
[Edit] Alas it didn't allow playing of my ATI Multimedia Centre produced mp4 AVI files - back to wmv for me.

So does this work any better than TCPMP at playing back mp4 files?
Better ? Prolly not.
But instead of installing another player, you just add some codecs with it instead.
Anyway, my personal favourite is the core mobile player (which isnt free)
While I still haven't published the "full" Multimedia Bible, the H.264 Bible at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=The H.264 (a.k.a. MPEG-4 Part 10 and AVC) Bible (in the Wiki) explains a LOT of these issues (what MP4 files are, what they can contain, what players and what codec packs are needed to play them etc)
Ive been using Pocket DivX Player 0.8 and it play7s avi files perfectly

its not bad for freeware
Hi, I would like to be able to play OGG media files on my kaiser. I installed TCPMP but when I run it I get an "Unexpected program failure".
Is there any other software one can use, or a way to install the codec so media player can use it?
thanks!
GSPlayer
seems that GS Player was all I could find. It's pretty poor compared to "audio manager" but does the job if necessary.
lol you wont find anything official. When do you ever see Mr Gates wanting to support any form of open source
I use PocketMusic to play my ogg's and mp3's, works great! Not free though..
The Mort Player !!
Hi guys, i am new to this site but cant find anything on here regarding my device and problem, so want to see if any one else has any ideas...
I Have installed DivX onto my device to playback avi files, but even after converting them to 320x240 and 250kbs with DVD Catalyst...
I have installed TCPMP but that fails to run, logging things to "crash.txt" but i cannot find the log file to find out what is causing it...
So i am unable to play any avi file on my device...
Can any one shed any light on my problems?
Thanks
coreplayer m
Get yourself coreplayer, you can try their trial before you think about purchasing it. it is an awsome media player, i dont even bother to convert my divx/xvid files to compress em down....they play with very few niggles!
Hello,
I've been trying to view some WMV's on my Tilt running WM 6.1 [downloaded from HTC for the Tilt]. I cannot see any video in TCPMP .72 or 81, WMP, Pocket Player...they all have the same issue - audio works, no video. Given that no video works in any player, I'm sure it's an issue with the phone missing a codec or something.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I promise that I searched around however I didn't find any threads with an answer.
They should play in tcpmp, do you know someone else with an htc/windows mobile phone that can try to play your vids?
I do, however getting a vid to them could be problematic.
EDIT: Doesn't work on the other Tilt, using Kinoma FreePlayer. Unknown codec.
Is there a codec pack for WM6.1, similar to the k-lite codec pack for XP?
I checked the file properties in WMP and it shows the video codec as Windows Media Video 9 Screen. Shouldn't WMP with WM6.1 be version 10 and include this older codec?
AFAIK is the "Screen" codec is a particular variation of WMV9 for special uses and is not supported on PocketPCs (actually not even on Macs either , only Windows).
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/forpros/codecs/video.aspx#Video_Compatibility
I've personally never encountered a video using this codec, most people use the generic WMV9 for everything as it has a lot more support.
As for your videos, you should reencode them to a supported format.
It was brought to my attention that WMP should be able to sync the vids to my phone and in a playable format, so I'm trying that out.
EDIT: Works perfectly. Case closed.
