Tmobile MDA Vario

Hello,
I was wondering i saw many people with an MDA Vario.
But i think i step plan what should be done for upgrading would be nice.
I've searched allover the forums but could not find it.
What is the first step you have to doo?
What will happen with the original Rom and Extended Rom ?
How can i backup the original rom

read the board rules before posting questions wich have come by for about..
a gazillion times.
and after that,
search for CID unlock in the forum.

Upgrading to Windows Mobile 6

I've currently got WM5 and want to upgrade to WM6.
I've read the ROM upgrade threads and have the latest versions already in my K-JAM.
Is it as simple now as installing WM6 or is there anything additional to do?

is CID locked ?
find the answers for this questions...., you can brick your device otherwise..

Thanks for the reply. Reading the Wiki I've found out that its a G3. The rest of the versions follow according to the startup screen. Apologies, I should have posted these originally (I intended to but got distracted).

I'm unsure about the CID.

i want to buy a new O2 XDA MINI HTC wizard... so i need your some guide please...
can I upgrade into wm6 if i can is there any problem after upgrade. someone told me you in troble in GSM is this this right. if thats is there any solution.

If you follow the instructions and knowledge gathered and shared by people here then you'll have no problems at all.
You can use any GSM (Radio) version and any OS (official or cooked, WM5 or WM6)

Just be sure to read a LOT before starting anything and be certain of what generation your phone is and what condition it is in (CID/SIM locked or not). There are stickies and tools to do that...

sim unlock

someone please help me. ive looked long and hard for the steps on how to unlock the sim for att tilt. i just went to tmobile account and i just love this phone. everything i found for sim unlock is for wm6.0 im running
Rom version: duttys wm6.1 wwe
rom date: 04/29/08
rom version: 1.65.14.06
protocol version: 25.81.40.02H
my bootloader says
KAIS1*0
SPL-3.29.Hard
CPLD-8
if someone could please help me get this done right with out having to change rom or having to reflash the rom. i just wanna unlock the phone so i can use my phone with tmobile sim card. thanks to who ever can help me. ill pay!!!!!!!!!! thanx

Please read this FAQ. It's very informative. I just did an unlock, following instructions in there. You do not need to reflash your rom.

to use the AT&T code you would need the AT&T rom.
If you do not want to reflash the ROM use the unlocker tool located at link below.
