Okay, so I have tried searching for answer to my question, but 90 minutes of reading later, and I'm still no closer to an answer.
I have been tyring to use SIP changer with the HTC Keyboard/keypad (from Dutty's cab collection). When I perform a soft reset, the home page loads and then hangs for about 20 secs, and then displays the 20key keypad on the home page. Until the keypad comes up, the device becomes completely unresponsive and once the keypad is there, I have to click somewhere else on screen to clear it.
First question: anyone know how to fix this? It doesn't happen if I use eg Touchpal as my default input method. I have tried changing the "default delay" time but it makes no difference.
Your help is appreciated.....
EDIT: Just to clarify, I am using SIP change by Sleuth, in case there are other programs out there with the same name.
EDIT2: Removed question 2 regarding complete removal of SIP change as I managed to work it out myself. Question 1 still remains though as, without SIP change, default SIP reverts to standard keyboard, rather than Keypad.
Hi there,
I have the some problem, always when I soft reset my Kaiser the HTC Keyboard/Keypad 20 keys appears on screen of the today screen and I have to touch somewhere to the keyboard disappear.
Any tweak for this situation.
Tks.
Ok, im really frustrated by certain things on the diamond, so much so im thinking of selling the diamond....
I love most of the features but a few things really annoy me...such as:
Why when a call connects, does the screen switch off?? This is really annoying when your listening to voicemail, for obvious reasons...
Secondly, i CANNOT switch my input type from FULL QWERTY, i change it, and then when i go back into INPUT, its FULL QWERTY again...why?
Thirdly, when entering a text, i dont want to view a full convo, and the last word of the text remains in the predict part, meaning when you click close, it asks if you want to save to drafts?
If im being stupid, then someone please explain....if not, can anyone assist? Please?
all of your problems have simple quick fixes and have been asked a million times by other people! i dont mean to be rude but please search the forum!
most of you problems can be solved with this one page thats always at the top of the diamond page!!

and look here for your input problem

took me 2 seconds to find the thread
SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and to asnwer your question, the light sensor turns the display off when you put the phone to your head, its a kind of safty feature so that you dont press any on screen buttons with your face.
i like the feature, but like many others like you dont, its on the first forum link ive just given you as is the fix to disable the sms chat interface
I did try search but came up blank....The above isnt really a solution, more of a workaround, i want the phone to function as it should, i.e be able to change the input type via settings....
Thanks a lot for your other assistance though Keyz...
you change your input option from the touch flo 3d interface, NOT the settings page on WM.
go into a new text message, and press the little keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen
im not using the TF3D interface though....using WM.....
you have TF3D turnd off?
Yes, but i have switched it back on to see if i change my mind about it...
I still cant get the screen light sensor thing to work....weird...
Hey guys,
This is my first post, which could be a disaster if this is all down to my stupidity, but I swear I've done a lot of searching and come up with nothing. That out of the way...
When I go to the TouchFLO internet page on my XDA Ignito the default site if you hit 'launch browser' is m.yahoo.com, is there any way to change this at all? I'd much prefer it to launch with about:blank for responsiveness, and so my GPRS doesn't auto-connect when I want to do something with Opera.
Thanks in advance for any help, I'm really glad there's a community like this for users of HTC devices. I've already used this forum as a lurker for a lot of information (including upgrading my old Hermes to Winmobile 6), you guys are superb.
Sincerely,
Ulfhedjinn.
Launch Opera.
Tap the Options icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen (it's a black box with horizontal lines in it with a similar smaller white box partially in top of it) and this'll pop up a list of options.
Select the Settings option.
Tap the Start Page bar and it'll drop down various options to do with the default page.
Select the 'User-defined' option and enter about:blank in the text box.
I had a bit of trouble getting Opera to 'remember' my change when I was doing exactly that so if this doesn't take effect then do a soft reset (after making sure everything is still as you want it in Opera) to get the option to 'stick'.
Hello Medulla,
Thanks a lot for the advice, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I'd already tried setting the homepage in Opera to about:blank or Google UK, and got them to stick in the browser (which can be a pain at times as you mentioned), but the internet page in TouchFLO still says "Launch Browser" with "m.yahoo.com" under it.
I tried setting my homepage and then doing a soft reset, just to see if it would work, but unfortunately I still get m.yahoo.com as my homepage unless I manually start Opera from programs or by pressing "Browser" at the bottom of the internet menu instead of "Launch Browser" at the top.
I was wondering if the m.yahoo.com default was tied in to the registry or firmware.
Thanks again for the reply.
Using file manager..
Go to:
\Application Data\Manila\
rename the file InternetPortal-en-AU.xml to something else (or delete).
Alternatively, you could change the home URL inside that xml file, that should fix your problem. It's a read only file, you would need to use something like total-commander to modify the attribute. G luck ..
Hello techdave,
You, sir, are my bloody hero. Renaming that file worked a treat.
I can't thank you enough.
very useful tip. thx a lot
Yes, that was driving me crazy too! Thanks for this tip
My first post on the forum after using many of the excellent tips etc..
This is a great tip, its been bugging me since getting my diamond, I've managed to change the default page in the xml file to Google UK, also got rid of the MySpace and You Tube links by modifying the same file (using Total Commander).
I would also like to my put my own links and icons (similar to the MySpace and You Tube ones) on the main Opera Touch Flo screen, I've changed the link but have no idea how to change the image, the xml file refers to .qtc files for the images.
What are .qtc files and how can I create them to put my own icons in?
EDIT - found the answers after some deep searching
also used this tip to get rid of something which has been bugging me since I first got the phone, thanks
I'd been searching everywhere for this. Thanks so much!
I have searched and searched the forums and Google and have found a few unanswered posts about this. Is there any way to re skin the password screen or is there a way to bypass enforced security policies? I'm forced to unlock my Fuze every 5 minutes because of work and I'm trying to get around it or to at least turn the password screen into a clock or something useful like the BB storm. Any love on this would be great!
Goto Settings/Lock and either disable the lock or increase the timeout.
My job enforces security policies and requires it to be locked every 5 minutes, I'm trying to find out how to circumvent it without removing my connection to the exchange server, or if I can't get around it to re skin the screen to be a clock or something useful.
I'm afraid there isnt much you can do with the stock locking program
It's a bit extreme, but you could run 6.5. The lock screen in 6.5 is pretty much what you desire
@gorrynel:
As you're probably aware, but just in case, the security policies will 'reset' any changes you make.
The Password (Security) screen is probably the single worst part of the WinMO platform. IMHO, M$ could have done a better job with this feature. At the very least, there should have been an option added to the Password (Security) screen to show/hide the Today (TF3D Home) screen:
Show:
Device key/button lock initiates
When a key/button is pressed, request password
... similar to SmartPhone.
Hide:
Device locks as per current design
*EDIT* Unless Da_G feels inclined to BackPort the required files
Would there be a way for a talented cook to change what is shown and what is not shown when the device is locked? I'm just so jealous of my co-workers BB storm clocks.... And all I have is a numeric pad…
Hi!
I've searched a lot but I wasn't really sucessful...
I'm working on a ROM and I'd like to change the password- or unlocking screen/dialog that comes up when you set a password additionally to your PIN-code.
I have attached a screenshot... In ROMs like Dutty's, this screen is already different with different buttons and background. Is anyone of you able to tell me, in which file (probably a .dll) the ressources for this dialog are saved in?
Thanks in advance!
