I searched for about an hour and didn't find anything that seemed relevant before I installed my software I was able to connect my phone and had transfered all tones and pics from my Sony Erickson w810i and the phone showed up as a removable device/disk drive. Now with my software installed, makes the "du-da" sound when I connect the phone but I cant find the device anywhere and the mobile sync app in control panel says no conflicts, no problems. I'm sure it is something really simple I've overlooked, but I cant seem to find out what, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I kinda feel like a dummy, but where do I find services?
Ok, I founds them and they started. Still cant find the phone anywhere on the comp.

I'm gettin a dead link thesire. I've had the same problem forever now, I've figured out that it is due to windows media player trying to sync my storage card. I've tried everything to fix it to no avail. I have to remove the storage card from the phone, then sync it, transfer files to phone memory, disconect from computer, insert storage card, and copy files to the storage card. I guess I could just go get a damn card reader, but that shouldn't be necessary. I just want to fix the damn problem, not work around it.

Hi,
I wonder if there`s any possibilities to moderate/hack Fujitsu Pocket LOOX N100 which has a Windows CE 5 core. The device has a Samsung 300 MHz processor, and 64 MB internal memory. Navigon 6 is installed and the manufacturer says the device is "locked". So would it be possible to hack this device so that it could be used with f.ex TomTom and TCPMP?
I know this is not a phone/pocket pc, but i pray for help anyways
I have tried to hack it. But without any results. There is no active sync, so you can't hack the registry. I made a dump of the update (1.16.0). I can play play Pacman on my own device .....
I know what I want to change, but I can't build a nieuw image for the moment. I'm working on it, but it is a bit difficult!
I did it!
But, I can't deploy the picture yet!

Cool! What did you do, and what are you now able to do? Do you have an image to share?
Any interesting mods for the N100 out yet? How to unlock it is already known, see here: http://www.mediafire.com/?celjlwwzbb1
Hey, it is even a HTC Device...
Especially, any idea how to upgrade the GPS firmware? Using the GPSROUTER command of the boot loader + SirfFlash doesnt work for me, and any of the gps update programs of other WinCE devices dont seem to do the trick either. Im stuck... too bad, from my Loox T830 I already know which firmware I would like to have...

By the way, since some people seem to be still trying:
I did some analysis a while ago on my N100, and I think one main point is that whatever baud rate you set SirfFlash to, it will change to 115.200 in the process. So this is why the GPSROUTER doesn't work I guess.
I was almost (?) as far as being able to at least read the firmware by using this method:
- Find RX and TX lines on the N100 mainboard
- Disconnect them from the system
- Find the TTL level RX and TX lines on a PC mainboard (before the chip that changes the serial voltage +/-12V!)
- connect N100/PC: TX-RX and RX-TX
- connect an oscilloscope to the lines to listen what's up
This is where I found with the oscilloscope that whatever baud rate I set, it seems the SirfFlash always changes to 115.200 after the first initial contact to the chip.
Unfortunately then I was very dumb and destroyed the com port on the used mainboard by creating a short circuit - and that was the end of my trials. The N100 is working Ok, still, after re-connecting the RX and TX lines.
If anyone is interested I might post some pictures about where to find RX and TX on the N100 mainboard later.
Just in case anyone is still trying: Somehow it seems to me that all my experiments to flash update the GPS firmware in the N100 seemed to fail due to baud rate issues. Tracing the serial communication I saw that every time after uploading the data that is supposed to set up the GPS chip to accept the firmware files, the baud rate of the transmissions from the chip side would be at some different value than originally set up. So always the "answers" would not be understood by the PC used for programming. There seems to be no baud rate at which to set up the PC so that the communication works later on. I gave up now, and use the N100 only sporadically anyway...
Long time bump. Just picked one of these up at good will for 1 dollar!!! Don't even know if it works. But I noticed that the plug is not the same as a reg old school USB. Does it use an standard USB? If not are plugs still available? And #2 there was no SD card in it are the maps that were on the USB available?

I wake up to a phone call this morning, and I thought it was strange that the default ringer was playing. After the call I looked and found that my SD card isn't being read. I've had the same card for about 6 months. My PC doesn't read the card, it freezes when i try to open the drive in 'my computer'. Any help will be VERY much appreciated, I REALLY need the data thats on this card!
check here
http://www.data-recovery-software.net/
Well this is a trick how i fixed mine in the same situation - and an old memory stick.
On the pc
1. Put card in pc reader but do not put it in usb slot yet.
2. Goto control panel\admin tools\computer management
3. Click on disk management and a list of disks will come up
4. Put reader in usb and wait until card is recognized - it does this way for some reason
5.Right click on your card and format and that should do it.
That program doesn't recognize the sd card either. Now that I think about it, my battery died last night, could that have caused this?
Thanks Mark for your help, its VERY strange, when the card is in my reader flashes every few seconds.. like it knows there is a card in it and it tries to read it. I tried what you said, but all i get is an hour glass and I'm unable to right click and format... at this point I'm more concerned with reviving the card and I dont really care about the contents.
u have tried to do it meschle's way ?
and then try this recovery software on it.
u wanted the data back , there is a solution...
u can also try and run scandisk on it or in commandline : chkdsk <driveletter>: /f
I'm starting to think that the card actually DIED because of my phone battery.. Somehow when the batt died yesterday it took out my sd card. I tried accessing the card with cmd.exe and it freezes my computer! I'm very good with computers, and I've recovered other SD cards that other people have goofed up. But this one is something NEW and it's really frustrating!
as it seems i was to fast and u didnt want the data back but the card
back to work again.
Is it recognised in ur phone ? if yes select the option in system for erasing storage. if no you can still try if it works.
it probably has some bad blocks
btw now that you mention this...
i bought a transcend card 2gb 80x minisd last week and it suffers
from this strange thing that it looses the card after a llittle while
like it gets disconnected.. this seems a bit simmilar to what ur telling now

It is NOT recognized in my phone, my ringtones are stored on the card. Thats how I first noticed that something was up, it was playing the default ringtone that ships with the phone.

Try rebooting your pc as that can help and make sure the contacts are clean on the card - then try again - possible use wm5torage and connect to pc this way so pc thinks card is a memory stick.
The card is corrupted but often retrievable.
Other tricks on the device is to use storage tools or sktools - but if device does not recognize the card prob wont work but worth a shot - both trial versions will format card - google them.
well i assume u know some about computers.
have u tried it on a linux or mac computer to read it contents.
did you get to see something when putting it in the pc-cardreader ?
you can try on the phone to wipe storage and at the moment u press ok
for it to be carried out you put in the minisd.
On my card i found that there where 2 files on it that looked like a cd image
or something similar. i have this thought that there is something strange in the root of this card of mine and the one ur having.

My Phone doesn't even recognize the card so these programs dont help. I have tried two different card readers, and even tried my roommates mac with no change. Can SD cards just DIE like that? I thought that they could only be corrupt. It worked flawlessly for about 6 months.

I can pick up a 2gb one for $20 so its not really worth my time to try to send it back for warranty.
be sure not to buy this transcend 2gb 80x , coz it give strange effects on
the wizard... im mailing with them to come to a solution but it seems the
minisd just dissapeares. while it works great for about 10 seconds in the phone, its totally gone after that
At least your old card can have a good send off
take care enjoy your new 2gb card
btw which 4gb are you using mark ?
as it seems im into buying a new one, might as well be one with 4gb and working with a wizard without nagging or dissapearing
My Tilt is crazy, and is driving me nuts. I am hoping someone here could diagnose and help me fix the problem.
I've had this phone for about 2-3 months now. I've been running Sleuth 1.2 ROM, with Radio 1.27.12.11.
Once in a while ActiveSync (I use it via USB) would not connect, something that normally was resolved by a soft reset on the Tilt, or a reboot on the PC, or both.
Last week I installed the Daylight Savings Time update that Microsoft distributed in March. I don't know if that caused any problems or not, but the point is that later on the Tilt could not get the AT&T phone signal (it was showing no service), but still could get the data connection (3G in my area). This happened after a failed ActiveSync session.
After reinstalling the ActiveSync on the PC, soft reseting the phone, trying to sync via wireless, I gave up, did a hard reset, and restored a backup made before the DST update. Everything worked, but the Tilt became extremely slow. The screens were sluggish.
I then did another hard reset, installed first the DST patch, tested the phone and everything was ok. Then I reinstalled all my programs. Everything worked perfectly, the phone was fast, ActiveSync was working ok. It stayed that way for about 1-2 weeks, until today.
Today, when I first connected the phone to the PC via USB, as usual it went through the ActiveSync process, then Sprite Backup kicked in, did its usual resets, backed up, and at the last reset after the backup was completed, ActiveSync gave me the "can't connect" error message.
The signal indicator shows no phone reception (but I get data transmission through 3G and through my router), after each reset an error message pops on the screen for a fraction of second and vanishes, no allowing me time to read anything, and the calendar and the contacts don't open. Mail opens ok but it isn't updating. When I try to open ActiveSync on the Tilt, it flashes and vanishes.
I did a couple of soft resets, tried to use safe mode, but nothing seems to resolve the problem.
I don't want to restore the backup and get the bad performance again, and I would rather not have to reinstall all my programs without knowing what is going on, as I am afraid it will keep on happening over and over again.
I would appreciate ANY help or suggestions.
Thank you

That is not exactly the kind of help I was looking for...
I'm having same problem and cannot find a solution. My phone is dead to me. Can't open contacts, calendar, activesync, or make any phone calls.
ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
didnt really read the whole thing cuz theres just too much all together...use paragraphs next time but maybe a new flash either your current rom or a new one..
I today started having the same problem for the 1st time. Tilt is 4 months old using the latest rom provided not a cooked one yet. Have several additions and apps added to the phone. I can access the web and sms/mms, and all data but no cell signal and no access to certain programs or my contacts. AT&T tells me it's a device issue and they would have to send me a new on some time next week and i need my phone for work. Any help is greatly appreciated.
For those of you who are having this problem i performed a HARD RESET, and then a restore and it corrected my problem

Turn it off. Hold the volume down button while you press the power on button. You should see a tri-color screen with a few lines of text on it.
that screen appears when trying to install the new rom. just tried it in bootloader mode comes back error 260. you have to laugh it appears after reading most of the post in these forums im the only one with this issue

hmmm maybe some usb cable driver issue.
i´d try to update the drivers like in vista

It's a standard USB cable. I've used 3443 different ones and they all work.
thanks for your help. i will wait untill i get back to england and try it on my computer as i know i can flash roms on that one as i did my htc p3300 with it. if no luck then i guess its back to contacting htc again, still waiting for a reply about this situation along with the keyboard fault. cheers jez
Woohoo at last I have now managed to update the rom to HTC update rom 1.56. I used my ex sister in-laws computer and it worked straight away, the only difference between her computer and my brothers here in Canada is she does not have spyware terminator installed. Even though I had switched it off it must have been running in the background still, therefore preventing the update. I hope this info might help some one. Thanks for every ones help, Jez
Thing I have noticed is how much quicker the phone runs, active sync now stops running, but still issues with the keyboard
I had RC33,
and upgraded (imo) to Cyanogen.
Im trying to pair with my tomtom G630, but no luck.
the phone sees the tomtom, shows as "paired but not connected"
the tomtom doesent even detect the phone though, despite the phone bluetooth being set to discoverable.
It worked fine before.
any ideas?
From what I know, I'm pretty sure Cyanogen mod fully supports all the BT features, maybe you got a bad flash. Check the md5sum and if its not right delete the file off your computer and redownload and wipe, wipe ext2, repair ext2 and wipe then flash.
man, i hope that's not it, everything else works absolutely perfect, tethering works beautifully.
Im more inclined to blame the damn tomtom than the G1 LOL
haha
Yeah, I use an app called CoPilot but its expensive so I recommend AndNav2
Its not that bad =]
I already bought the tom, and have updated the maps already once, so ive sunk about $400 into it, its not getting replaced any time soon.
Im racking my brain, but there just really isnt anywhere to go on this.
If i set the phone to be discoverable and run a scan with my laptop, boom its found, almost instantly.. So the phone IS discoverable, just not by the tomtom.
Ok, so now things have swerved far into the retarded lane.
My Macbook can detect the G1 just fine.
If I set the macbook to be discoverable, the tomtom will find it just fine.
so the G1 is boradcasting and can be discovered, and the tomtom is trying to detect and is detecting other discoverable devices..
but not the G1.

AH HA!!!
got it!
the trick (if you can call it that) was to do "connect to bluetooth device" not the scan for phone option.
WELL CRAP
I still cannot use tomtom traffic, says the G1 is not capable of wireless data or something to that effect.
poop.
aww haha, hmm maybe TomTom will update or a dev will code something to help out.
not sure, I don't have a car nor a tomtom lol
Please don't take this as me flaming, but did you say "Maybe TomTom will update their code"? No way! They are lazy when it comes to that, even when you have purchased their top of the line products, they just don't care. It is take it or leave it when it comes to their stuff. I had more luck working with Parrot, Cardo, and a few other companies who actually wanted to help make their products work, or at least listened to work-around ideas to help implement them.
I am stuck with a TomTom Rider 2nd edition for my 2 wheeled ride and it hates my G1 phone, all TomTom says is to deal with it or to get an older phone from their list of phones that are known to work. I even offered to pay for a new map upgrade and they said it was not enough. BTW, I had 2 GO910 models and they both took a crap in the first week. I had to fight with Circuit City to rectify the problem (even with the extended warranty). I ended up getting my money back since TomTom blamed me for having a car with a tight suspension and was not willing to fix the unit. This was on a Chrysler 300M with the touring package. When they told me that line I laughed so hard that I cried! Next time I'll get a GPS from a different company or just try the TeleNav program on the G1. I wish Google Maps read out turn by turn directions and stuff.
If you know linux, you might want to just try to hack into the GPS and work that puppy till it begs to connect to your phone.
