Must Haves For BlueAngel

Hi guys
I just wondered what you're must haves for the BlueAngel are (software, hardware, games ans so on).
I thought this could be usefull for new users of a BlueAngel like I am.
I hope to get lots of replies....
Don't forget a short description...
All new users are going to be very thankfull (or at least I'm going to be...)
you could for first install sprite backup and sprite monitor. very useful for monitoring battery usage and memory usage. This also helps backup issues.
also, mine did not have a microsoft reader installed when I bought it so I installed one. useful if you're for ebooks.
cheers!

Talking about must-haves for the Blue Angel on the hardware side, I've got a Krusell leather case which is more convinient to use than the supplied one. It's a flip open one, like the one supplied with the XDA 2i. I've got a Brando screen protector, and got one spare too, to protect the screen. Further, I bought a sync + charge cable from sfplanet.com, which I can carry to office etc., rather than the cradle which I keep docked to my home PC.
Must haves
I like PocketNav. Free, smaller, faster than other Today screen "closer" programs.

Instant Messaging Program
Do y'all know if anything in particular conflicts with Agile Messenger on a Blue Angel? I have an O2 version, with the active stuff turned off, and Agile Messenger keeps crashing it!!!
If it is Agile Messenger and not the cause of some other program, could you please suggest another multi-IM client?
Thanks!

1: download the ROM and unzip/unrar it to the root of your Storage Card

3: read the SD Card method flashing topic (you can flash oldstyle with PC too but it will take longer and has more error possibilities)
4: the flashing takes only 3-4 minutes, after that do a soft reset (take off the battery cover, pull out the stylus and push it into the hole in the right lower area of its holder)
5. set up the initial settings and wait for the customization to complete (it will reset the X1)
Enjoy!

Official ITA ROM bug: Camera menu is messed up, if you want to use it, replace the files in /Program Files/XperiaCamera/ with the files in this archive [SE needs to fix this!]
UC packs (for non-WWE roms you need to replace 'Storage Card' for your language in the SDConfig.txt to make it work!)
Starter Pack
Unzip it to the root of your SD card and overwrite files if needed (files from starter pack and SDConfig.txt).
User customization sample - you can do so much with UC! More info on user customization is here.

Known bug prior v1.04: Xperia Media Panel doesn't show pictures (only in 'flowing' mode), there is a cache manager error in the Media Player panel, I can't fix it, but you can change back the system cache to 4MB, then it will work (but the system will slow down a little)...
v1.02
- during autoconfig Resco Contacts will pop up a language selection dialog, you need to be a little quick to select ENG or GER That's not my fault, SDAutorun tries to steal focus continuously...
- to remove nX1i from the right lower corner of the today, remove this in registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\DeviceBeta]
"Today"="nX1i"

For formatting information see this page: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...vbenlr98/html/vafmtuserdefineddateformats.asp (for month use 'M' - not 'm' as indicated there...)

Click to collapse
To show just the date:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\TBOpt = 2 (DWORD decimal)

To show both (as in the rom):

I saw it, it looks nice... so colorful But I don't want to include finixnover's battery icon pack either. Maybe I'll put Batti to the UC loader
May I suggest to use the Yota Dialer and Contacts Pl.
yota isn't very easy to cook into the rom, it's caused problems on a few ones now..
It's better at present to install it as a cab I think.
I'll include Yota Contacts in the UC pack (Yota Dialer has problems overlapping the SE dialer). I would like to include Inesoft Phone, but it's not free...
Could you also include a version of MS Voice Commander that works in your cooked rom in the cabs too?
i like the light but highly functional rom you are trying to achive
please tell me what you think of the follwoing sueggestions
1-UCweb is better than opera mini and will save you from requiring to install java+opera mini+gmail client (just use outlook for gmail)
2-two browsers included opera mobile + bandwidth friendly one like opera mobile mini or UCweb
3-menus and quickmenu are made finger friendly with big icons
4-"homescreen plus plus" since you not doing touchflo
5-fast and small finger friendly keyboard like pcm or hd keyboard
6-easy and quick wifi enabling from start button or programs "aktogglewifi"
7-tcmp not as good as core but is much better than nothing as in the default rom and is free
8-need to do do something about button functionality to increase the default usablity of the phone. since you are totaly ripping panels( like jacks 1.08 rom is a good start)
9- lots of small games (like kevris, pocket sand...ets) and useful essential applications (e.g. flash, ,obex inbox, fexploreext ,pocketpeek...etc)

1. I prefer Opera Mini as the low bandwidth browser, GMail is still optional, I may remove it from the package (it's easier to config and use for newbies than outlook)
2. the two browsers will be there (I'll try to add Netfront latest beta too, works fine on the X1)
3. QuickMenu will be there
4. I don't know this and don't want to change the today screen from the standard (only wireless plugin will be enabled after first start)
5. HD keyboard and the hardware keyb don't work well together, PocketCM still has a lot of bugs, I would prefer SPB Keyboard and Resco Keyboard, but those are not free. It is also a personal choice
6. Quickmenu can do this and the Wireless today plugin will be active in the rom - you touch it and it takes you to the Comm Manager
7. yes, there is a new version that supports srt subtitles, will go into the UC package
8. I don't want to touch button settings, only rip panels from rom and then you can choose which one to install. Panelmanager will be there.
9. I think these are personal choices, but maybe later I'll put a free games pack together
BTW: are there any programs or users who use Streaming Media on the X1?
how about including mortplayer? its much better than the pocket windows media player..
this rom sounds great, i cant wait
New version of netfront coming soon..
well alright within a month, but that's soon for them, although it'll likely end up as yet another rehash of the bl**dy tech demo..
BBC Iplayer uses streaming media to view content, of no interest to anyone outside the UK, but plenty of inside!
this rom sucks... read & write speed is reduced alot. my previous rom was uk generic R1A, with sktools:
Main Storage (write) 10722.51 kb/sec
Main Storage (read) 16695.65 kb/sec
Storage card (write) 493.22 kb/sec
Storage card (read) 12746.89kb/s
on this R2A rom:
Main Storage (write) 2091.93 kb/sec
Main Storage (read) 7062.07 kb/sec
Storage card (write) 599.71 kb/sec
Storage card (read) 6592.22 89kb/s
now need to flash back to r1a. damn...
What? The rom has not even come out yet... Maybe you need to post in the correct thread? And saying "sucks" is pretty harsh....
Im still using itje's Touch-IT Xperience v3.0...found it a little slow...but it works really well. The speed could be down to something I have done...im still learning.
BUT, im liking the sound of your ROM norti...I will keep checking back for it!

INSTALLATION NOTES:
It takes not more than 5 minutes after flashed.
FIRST BOOT after flashed:
Probably your device will seem stucked with TOP status-bar visibile with normal status icons but with white HOME page.
Don't worry, just touch one of these icons on top and Titanium will be displayed!
JUST for first boot after flashed!
COMMON ISSUES:
I've inherited this single issue from previous developer: sometime the "Explore File" application freeze and it's necessary to restart the phone.
I suggest to use Total Commander, Resco Explorer or other File Manager to surf throught your folders and then remove "Explore File" shortcut from "\WINDOWS\Start Menu\Programs" folder to avoid to run it accidentally.
Looks promising. Will test it when it cames out

agree, one clean and one with app
off course both with 3g dialer
wait for the release
And for all the heavens! Don't forget support for MMS!
Maybe you can make it multilanguage in the future?
would be nice SlideView with working whole video playback
Can you add some unicode font. because I'm from vietnam
emandt - great work!
My suggestion would be NOT adding apps into ROM (unless it is necessary for specific ones to work) and NOT removing the generally built-in ones (unless there are new versions available, eg. Opera). Plain, pure almost-original WM...
hi..... it is a great news and thanks ..all x1 users would love to have nice and fast x2 rom in x1.. i agree with you the panel manager is a resource drainer . maping x button to task manager or comm manager will be great ...... fdc task manager has reg edit in it...... bye man... good luck......
It looks promising! Can't wait for it.
Well sounds great! I still use the old version as well cause its 1 of fastest roms out there. I cant wait ^^
nice! thumbs up
Waiting for release Should be a great ROM.
My requests:
Map X-panel button to StartMenu
Nitrogen as music player
TCPMP as video player
Opera Mini 5 beta 2 for surfing the web (beta 2 is faster than Opera Mini 5 when opening pages; Opera Mini 5 looks better but is way slower and don't display all the pages)
Opera Mobile 10 and Internet Explorer should be installed, because there are some pages that can't be opened with one or another (or provide cabs to users)
Office - provide cab
HTC Usb2PC
Clean the apps that aren't usually used, and provide cabs for them.
Cheers!
