What's the best and lattest rom for the 8925 tilt? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

anyone knows that can point me in the right direction?

please check out the kaiser rom development forum. It has tons of information about roms and new rom releases.
Right now Dutty, Leo, Shogunmark, DK all have releases on the latest os build. Please browse and see the one you like as roms are based on individual taste. What i like you might hate ... so search and flash different roms to find your perfect match
happy flashing..
just advice (don't take it wrong way): before flashing roms make sure you flash hardspl to your device first. The only reason i give this advice is because i see you are junior member and i sincerely don't want you to brick your phone.
peace,
Sire

thanx for the info playa

That is a question that has been ask numerous times on this forum ad nausium. Generally this is a forum that gives specific answers to specific questions. People who come in here and ask subjective questions are met with much annoyance. It tells people that you didn't bother to read any of the other hundreds of posts on this subject and didn't bother to help yourself using our resources.
I explain this because you are new here. Like cars, there are many different roms for many different needs there is no best. As far as the latest official rom, you already have it on your phone.
You would not walk in to the library and ask the librarian to teach you, you would get the appropriate books and teach your self. The same must be done here if you want to fit in and make friends. After becoming informed , if you have any questions people will be happy to answer them here

... I'll be more specific then.. Can somebody please let me know which official wwe 6.0 rom is the latest? is it that dopod version from wiki? (1.82.721.1)
I'm asking, as I noticed that not all of roms are listed down there and I am soooo dissapointed with official 6.1 that I want to go back.
thanks for reply mates

Which Rom?

Hello everyone! I recently purchased an O2 XDA mini S. It was originally a German O2 contract and I want to change it to an english/american non O2 branded system. Which Rom should I update with? I have visted the wizard folder in the FTP, but there are so many different ROMs. I can't tell which ones are good plus meet the english / non-branded criteria.
Thanks for any assistance
(As you surely guessed, I'm not a developer. Please excuse errors in terminology etc. )
****EDIT - Just realized that this should go in Wizard updating. Please move if possible****
At first you must CID-unlock your phone, if you want any ROM with edited OS version.
And than you can flash: Faria`s ROM, Ridsoro`s ROM or mine and Jimm98y`s superrom, and others.
Look at the forum and choose that, what is best in your opinion
Make sure you do your reading before you do anything else. You can really **** up your phone if you dont know what your doing.
the WWE stands for world wide english.. i guess this is what ur looking for
There are thousands of posts on the same.
Maybe I can make the question simpler
What is the Best and Most Stable ROM available at the moment?
Is there a thread whcih contrasts all hese different ROMS?
I think that's a great question... in fact, the answer should almost be stickied:
"What is the best and most stable ROM for a non-advanced user?"
Gotta run; somebody should set up a poll. As of right now, and my knowledge is definitely limited, I'd vote for Molski 2.26 Final.
Which Rom to use
You're going to get as many answers as posts on this one. I think xelencin's is the best for newbies:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=274205
a poll on this would be cool.

New AT&T Tilt Owner - Need some guidance

Hello,
I am new to this site, I've read and read about the cooked ROMS for the HTC phones. I'm anxious for the 6.1 update to come out for AT&T, anyone know when this will come out? I know that the TyTn II update came out, but when I log into HTC's website, it's nowhere to be found. However, if I decide to go with a Cooked ROM, can someone direct me to what I first need to do to prepare my phone for it, and where I can load the latest Cooked ROM?
Also, anyone who was scared to brick their phone and did the Cooked ROM how is it and what do you recommend?
One last thing, if I do load a cooked ROM on my phone, and AT&T releases the 6.1 update, I could easily update it with that correct?
Any help is appreciated.
...................... Ok. Search through this site and read!! It will tell you how to do everything. I hereby introduced you to the flaming...
I've read through the thread that was posted today, but was curious if I needed to install a cooked rom or if I could install this on the AT&T ROM. I want to know the success of this because I don't want to brick my phone. Thanks.
When it comes to technology, nothing is forever. You can flash a different cooked rom and always flash back to the original state. Once again search. Everyone has different flavors so you are bound to get different opinions on which ROM is suitable for you. Go to the Kaiser-Rom and Developement thread and look around. Read Read Read. When you feel comfortable attempt a ROM upgrade.
P.S.
Why would you want to flash a 6.1 ROM on the HTC site (whenever it comes out)
Their are chefs on this forum that make way better ROMs withougt all the junk apps nobody uses. Just my 2 cents.
I think we can close this thread now.
which rom are you using? On my tilt, I just have the WM 6.0 not the 6.1. I've tried the HTC site, and I've read that it's out, but nowhere to be found on HTC's site. I've signed up as a e-club member. But I'll keep looking.

Got a New Diamond. Where to start ?

So I just got my new Diamond (Hong Kong traditional chinese version), version below:
ROM: 1.37.832.4 CHT
Date: 06/23/08
Radio: 1.00.25.03
Protocol: 52.26a.25.09H
I wanted to get the most out of the little phone. What tweaks and fixes I need to do to get to everyone elses "standard" ? Such as updating, changing the language to english, some kind of ways to backup my old ROM, speed fix on the menus and navigation, tweaks on longer battery life Also tell me if there is more needed.
Can anyone tell me where to get those stuff (Or if those things exists) ? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much !
update to WWE rom and flash the radio, use the roll up stickies as tutorials at the top of the pages, read, search and you will find.
no one here will want to find it for you. open your eyes and take a look around. its all here.
end of topic.

Hey, I am new to this and I don't have the slight understanding of how these things work. That is why I'm asking for help. I wouldn't want to install the wrong things and kill my diamond (It happened before with my PSP =/).
But thank you for answering. Is updating the rom and radio all I need ?

Ouch, harssshhh.
To the original postah... Search for "Diamond Tweaks", should be a sticky in this forum. Those should help a lot for the performance of your Diamond. You CAN flash a new ROM and radio (make sure to Hard SPL first, search on how to do that!) but it's not necessary and taking a risk... Not a very big one, but devices have been turned to paperweights from flashing messups many times. To keep it basic use those Diamond Tweaks, start your device off right with Schaps Advanced Configuration tool (www.touchxperience.com) and TF3D Config, maybe Diamond Tweak (a program called that, searchsearchsearch) as well. To get a registry editor you can also go to touchxperience.com, you'll need that for most of the tweaks. Now go, go, go!
Thanks for the answers.
I have decided to flash the Rom cause I wanted to get the best out of the phone.
I come across this guide on flashing: http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemid=26
And this for list of Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=413910
The problem I have now is that I don't know which Rom is the best to flash into. And whats the difference between Offical and Cooker rom (Which is better)?
Again, thanks for answering. I appreciate it.
each person have different prefrenses and use their pda's for different things
which is why there are more then one rom called superrom which everybody use
so it is kinda hard to answer the question which one is best for you
trying various is most likely the best path

...better? They are newer; look: Just like in Windows XP Microsoft also generates new builds of windows mobile. Also HTC does this with his own applications. The cookers always takes the newest builtds and gave us the great roms!
ok?
Just look at it like this, cooked roms are customized by people on here that want better performance, the official roms are what HTC puts out to try and make it work for everyone. If you find a cooked rom that works for your needs, it's likely to be better because it doesn't include all of the stuff that doesn't interest you. Better yet, you could cook your own rom if you really want to, look for a tutorial on it. Not incredibly difficult, just takes some time to learn. (This is my perception of it, I've never cooked a rom myself but it doesn't seem so impossible)
Thank you guys, I chose the SwiftBL for the Rom since it have just what I need and much more.
But I have another question about the Radio Rom. I have the Radio version 1.00.25.03 and I wanted to ask do I need to update/change it ? If it's not necessary, can I skip this step and just update my Rom and not the Radio ?
Thx !

read!?! nobody told me i was suppose to read before trying to flash my phone for the first time?!! jk
yeah, just look around at the different tutorial on here, and it should help you to better understand it. I just got my diamond last week, and i can't believe how much i can change on this phone compared to my old S60 v3 phone...
I wouldn't change the radio unless you have issues with reception... But that's me, I'm very conservative compared to most on here when it comes to flashing/changing major aspects of the phone.
I have completed the flashing the Rom and Radio on my Diamond and thank god it didn't brick.
Everything is done now so thank you guys very much for everything.

Rom Updates / Customs roms (from a newbie)

Hi All,
I've just got my new Touch HD but have never entered the world of custom roms before.
My current ROM is 1.14.405.3 (22273) WWE dated 10/24/08. I've just updated the radio version to 1.10.25.25. My HD seems quite slow and generally I'm quite disappointed with it. That said I was quite disappointed with my HTC Tytn until HTC released a new rom.
From reading this forum there seem to be many happy people so I suspect that the software in my phone is more at fault. I've seen the new Arabian rom that has been posted. It obviously won't install on my UK model (I'm not tied to a mobile carrier) without me tinkering, but I wondered if there would be any benefit in me uploading it. Does it invalidate my warranty or can I reset the original rom should I need it repaired?
As a rule do custom rom makers use the latest offical release and then tweak them? What are the benefits?
I'm sorry for so many newbie questions. If anyone can help or point me in the right direction of some great "simple" instructions I would be grateful.
Regards
Jonathan

hi bro welcome to XDA.
Everything regarding flashing, upgrading and choosing from cookded roms , official roms and valuable information can be found here for Touch HD thank to HDUSER for updating here:

good luck
The first couple of pages in the wiki are a bit complex if you're new to all this and have never customised your phone. Loads of unneccessary info (which is nice to know, but not always important). The easiest way by far to flash your ROM would be using SPL and flashing from your SDcard. Search the forum, as there one or two threads specifically abpout flashing for n00bs.
There's one specifically I'm thinking about which really helped me out, but I have no idea anymore which one it is and I can't be arsed to search for it for you Search is your friend (search for: flashing ROM n00b newbie).

question about roms, im new (sorry)

i had bought kaiser 100 tilt at&t. it has wm 6.1 in spanish (i speak spanish and some english). it has a radio 1.65.17.10

The first you need to do is all here and regarding flashing the rom, try a few ones and see which one suites your needs. You have to read the rom threads a little to see what is working and what isn't. Grab a cup of coffee, tea, diet coke, a beer or whatever you want and take some time to read, sorry but that is xda
Please use the search before posting gmaniac2008 has been very helpful providing link and information, check the stickys and wiki as pretty much everything you will need to know will be already documented.
On that note thread closed.
