To my surprised. Diamond has a twin brother, and his name is Victor.

No word yet if Victor comes with Micro SD card.
They are the same apart from the casing, just different ODM/OEM version for different markets
The Victor looks like the T-Mobile MDA Compact IV varient
Indeed but they have different structure of hardware keys (between HTC & T-Mobile).
Yes, that are swapped! i wonder why?
I guess we shall never know...
I prefer the Touch Diamond - it looks more interesting.
i like more touch diamond, it´s more fashion
I prefer the rounded aspect of HTC VICTOR
Have a look at the T-MOBILE one

Well, in the demos I've seen, people have smashed it against things, and it hasn't shown any signs of damage. I think it's designed for rough use - it has toughened glass protecting the screen, for example...
The bit that will scratch is the back as there are only a few points it rests on, when it vibrates it will move along the desk / counter / surface it’s on, and therefore scratch the back.
That problem shouldn’t be as bad on the T-mobile variant. Also the T-Mobile variant is a lot more understated. Think Dell XPS vs Dell Precision laptops. Same innards but ones for the gaming market with flashing LEDs the other for business.
At the end of the day though no point in arguing, as everyone has a choice just go for what you prefer the most.
The victor is the cdma diamond afaik.
EDIT: yep i was right. pic attached.

Wouldn't that just wear down the few points that it rests on though? That would reduce scratching, as most of the surface is not in contact with anything. My Touch rests on just two small lumps near the bottom of the back and a single point further up the back (I suspect it's some part of the camera) and it has no scratches.

Definetly Universal!
It´s not a new model, but not always the newest is the best
VGA big screen, fast processor, full keyboard.
It´s the best at least now
Cheers
i think the best one is the one that has the software you need. it isnt nessesarily how fast the car is, but the driver.
I love my wizard. everyonce in a while I see one come along that I drool over... untill I see how limited the oem software is.
although I kinda wish I had the euro kaiser. the one with the camera in the front (skype)
HTC Touch Diamond
If my touch dual had a FULL Qwerty, then I'd say the touch dual.
Universal all the way
Due to my work I get to work and play with all of your devices and at the moment have all the HTC models up to Universal right here in my toy box, starting with Smartphone edition. I always go back to Universal, despite the size. NOTHING beats that device. From time to time I put my SIM into something else just to keep the button/usage familiarity up to date, but each and every time I feel I miss my Uni too much to part with it for more than a day. JMTCW.

I owned an ATT tilt/kaiser for a month and sold it out of complete spite over it's lack of.. well.. everything. I reverted back to my mda/wizard and have not looked back. The wizard does far more and IMO is the best phone from HTC. unfortunately it's not 3G so i will probably go blackberry when tmo 3g gets to california. It's not worth the money for a 3g phone that i can't play doom or watch movies on (stupid tilt). 2 thumbs up to the wizard.
Have owned a Tytn, a Touch, a Kaiser, and now have a HP 614c, and for me it's the best one.

The Diamond is really nice. That's my next pda.
Isn't the upcoming raphael a diamond with a slide out qwerty? that ought to be nice
My Super TyTN (X01HT) with 1 month standby, see how it towers over the competition
After using any device Verizon has that is worth buying, I'm going to say the Touch/Vogue/xv6900. Lightweight, lots of memory (storage and RAM), I really like to flat and smooth screen (makes it easier to swipe the screen). Only two pieces missing on it are no Wi-Fi, and no flash on the camera, but I have an unlimited data plan and rarely pull out the phone to take pics in the dark, so my vote is the Touch!
Dont know but definitely NOT xda stealth which I have......
So, I had a Kaiser, and like an idiot had no screen protector on it. After about 1.5 years, I had put it in my pocket w/ my keys, and I guess this was the aftermath.
I am just wondering whats the easiest/cheapest way to get this repaired?
Is there no default protector in front of the LCD screen? I guess what I am really trying to confirm, is that those scratches are on the LCD screen itself, and the only way to fix this is with a replacement screen?

bumping for help
Do some googleing for "ipod screen scratch repair" and you might find some things to try -- but the best thing might be to replace the screen.
There are light abrasives available, where you essentially polish the screen to lessen the appearance of the scratch, but that scratch looks pretty deep to me
I've even seen some posts where folks recommended polishing with toothpaste
thanks for the heads up. Ya, i think I will replace it then. I found one on ebay for 10 bucks shipped from hong kong. It might take a little while to get here, but thats OK cause I now use a touch pro, but was looking to sell this to someone, and didnt want to sell it w/ a jacked up screen.
touch pro -- sigh
I'm hoping to move to a touch pro 2 whenever they come out with WM 6.5 pre-installed
But yeah -- first thing I do when I get a new phone is put a screen protector on

ya I am waiting for the touch pro 2 to drop too. I actually saw this other HTC device w/ a 1ghz processor and 4.3 inch screen, I would really rather wait for that, lol, but I dont think its been officially announced, so probably will have to settle for the touch pro 2. As soon as it drops, I will put the touch pro up for sale.
I did learn from my mistakes, teh touch pro has a screen protector and a invisible shield on the front keys, and has a hard plastic cover on the back to protect the back of it. I also have never dropped it, where my 8925 had been dropped quite a few times.
Brasso might work. It is an all metals polish which can be purchased at hardware stores and supermarkets. It worked really well on my iPod video's screen even though it is plastic.
Is it just me or did RIM steal the design of the Blue Angel for the BB 9930?

They really look similar.
Ya know, just because the BlackBerry is high profile and the Samsung is not, you shouldn't implicitly bash the BlackBerry and just let Samsung get away with it.

It isn't a matter of comparing all the pda slider styles out there. I just thought that this BB looks remarkably similar to the BA. The Samsung phone you are taking about, even though it is a slider, it doesn't look like the BA that much.

The Samsung and the HTC phone both have keyboards with a curved layout. They keys on each row are concaved upwards on both phones.
The Samsung and the HTC phone both have tactile D-pads.
The Samsung and the HTC phone have a more curved bottom than the BlackBerry.
The Samsung and the HTC phone both have multi-row function buttons, unlike the BlackBerry.
All three of these phones have some similarities to each other.
I still think that the HTC Blue Angel looks more like the Samsung SCH-I730 than it does for the upcoming BlackBerry.
To say that the i730 does not look like the Blue Angel would mean that the BlackBerry definitely does not look like the Blue Angel.
The individual key designs on the phones are all very distinct from each other.
They also have major differences; for example, the Samsung has a protruding aerial antenna, the HTC has buttons on top and a circular speaker grille, while the BlackBerry has that inwardly-sloped chin. These are all unique qualities.
Having said all that. Yeah you are right the Blue Angel doesn't look like the Samsung.......
Seriously though, the Blue Angel is more similar to the SCH-I730 than the BlackBerry.
yeah yeah... where else could that qwerty could be??? maybe when the BB use a qwerty slider aside... from left or right... it will be same as.... almost all HTC devices with qwerty
Where else could it be??? upper sliding???
Don't know if someone mentioned this one before, but its the first time I've seen it. It looks freakin awesome!!! Seriously looking into buying this one. Someone has this / tested this?

What are You suggesting? That the EU version has smaller dimensions than the US version? It sounds rather unbelieveable. I tried to check them - look the same to me
Nup. The TMOUS HD2 is a slightly different shape to the Euro versions.

The TmoUS is slightly longer than the EU/Asia/Aus model. What you can do is roll up some newspaper and stuff it underneath so it'll fit tight and snuggly.

Don't bother, it is a junky case... Kickstand mounting points broke on 2 of them now for me, and it scratched my phone. *shrugs*
I saw this awesome leather cover for the galaxy with a kickstand and tried finding a similar one for the HD2 but couldnt... Wanted to post the link and gain feedback if anyone else knows of a similar cover for the HD2...

Thanks
I have had this case for the last 2 months.
Yes it does scuff the back of the phone a little (only the battery cover), to me a small price to pay to have a kickstand.
Yes it is a cheaply made, but I am careful with it and so far I have not noticed any problems.
Anyone knows where i can find it? Mine is slightly loose now, (after i opened it for changing the SD-card)
Any help is much appreciated.

I bought mine and didn't even touch it and there's a gap between the charger and the bottom cover of the phone where you can see the SIM card. Just a very poor design.
I have the same problem. I opened it to swap the sd card, and since then it doesn't close perfectly anymore.
I called htc about this, and they confirm that they only sell the upper part of the back cover. You can send it in, but then it'll cost you about 40 dollars for the fix, minus the shipping. I just ordered a silicone cover instead.
I just hope that they will start selling those bottom parts too.

I agree with you I have seen many review criticise this! There seems to be a poor quality control at HTC for the HD7, the gap to me looks like about 1mm that's not acceptable!
Fortunately I have been very luck my HD7 does not have that gap!
It's a shame ... seriously ... the back housing is not the only part of a low quality ...
Even the power button doesnt seem to work properly (after two week of usage!) and i have to press it really hard to get it to work.
and I also saw the "Tarnished camera button" in the other thread ...
HTC!!!! SERIOUSLY?!!!
my local HTC repair shop contacted a lot of people but was also unable to get the part. i am thinking of superglue right now ...
superglued down. no other option but its perfect now
The gap annoyed me after I upgraded it to 32GB... So I carefully sanded down some of the plastic lugs and superglued the bottom part to the body. Yup, I know it was quite drastic but at least I've ended up with a perfect HD7... And a voided warranty! It's a shame that HTC allowed this horrible gap. My old HD2 was much better finished.
As much as i'd like to post a link for some back covers for you all there seems to be a lack of spare parts for the moment . I did however find a coverall solution that although doesn't fix your phones will at least let you hold it together until we can buy some at a later date
