Can the Tilt handle External Antennas? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Behind the rubber GPS cover on the bottom of the Tilt are 2 connectors. I would have to believe that one connector is for an external CELL antenna and the other an external GPS antenna...right? Is there anyway to connect an external WiFi antenna to boost reception?

I wish there was. I attribute my wifi range issues to my estimation of the size of the wifi antennae. But, as far as I can tell, the wifi antennae is separate from the phone, GPS, and bluetooth antennae.

02 Car kit to gps mouse - muting easily solved !!!

I have just fitted a haicom GPS mouse to my friends O2 xda carkit.
Having read all the problems about muting and having to fit a relay on the stereo mute , I thought I would look a little deeper into that small black connector (8 pin connector)
I discovered that on turning gps on (on the xda) the stereo would mute instantly , I traced this to a 6v signal being given on the purple wire (pin 8 )
I connected pin8 to pin 2 (black (gnd) ) this did the trick - the gps now acts as if it is a factory installed gps system - only mutes when directions are given and if you turn voice of on gps it never mutes
Hope people find this useful
Jim
hi what do you mean (8 pin connector)

gps muting
hi....i read your post with interest....it sounds good, but can u clarify it a little....i have a car kit, professionally fitted at first and the mute was connected directly to the stereo.....mute worked perfectly on the phone, but the gps software always muted the stereo whenever activated. i then fitted a micro switch in the mute wire, so i can use the radio and gps together. Will this resolve this?.....and could u clarify which pins exactly..is it pin 8 on the gps connector, which is marked rs232 txd...[orange].do u put this to the black wire [gnd] shown under it?

Internal Microphone auto switches off?

When using a stereo headphone adapter in the ADP1, when the headphones are plugged in, despite the lack of any external microphone, the internal microphone is deactivated.
This prevents the phone from being used as a car phone; I have my ADP1 on a windshield mount with audio routed via headphone adapter to double-male cable to car stereo input. If the internal mike was still operational, it would allow the phone to be used as a hands free car phone.
Is there any app that can be used to prevent the microphone from auto switching off?
Help
I have a similar problem, I have a great car holder for my TP2 which charges and transmits music/sound over fm to my stereo. It is not bluetooth the holder has USB. The phone shows the headphone symbol but the holder has no mic. So if i could tell the phone to not use the non-existent usb mic and use the internal one it would be a carphone. If anyone can help it would be great.

Exactly the same problem here. Wanna use my G1 in the car, but if I connect the phone->adapter->car audio, the mic switches off. Does anyone can think about any way to avoid it? May be by using some sort of special adapter or some kind of software hack?
Thank you for your ideas!
+ 1 on this
Should be a simple hack (something like 1 value changed in the code) for more-experienced dev (certainly not me )

Headphone Interference

I've noticed whilst gaming on the train using my HD7, I sometimes get interference in my headphones. It sounds like mobile static (dit dit-dit-dit etc).
Does this happen on all HD7's (maybe when reception is fluctuating)? I would be very interested to hear whether this happens (or not) from other HD7 owners. Thanks!
Any long conductor is susceptible to radio-frequency interference. In fact, headphone cables are so susceptible to it that your phone uses the cable as an aerial for FM radio reception!
Personally I use bluetooth headphones so don't get the problem. It does mean I can't use the FM Radio function but to be honest I can't say I miss it. On the plus side, I get hands-free calling all the time.
I have that same problem with my speakers whenever im getting a call or text on any phone that is on my table my speakers start to make noise 2-3 seconds before the phone starts ringing.
but ive never had that problem with headphones.

Whenever im using my Bluetooth headphones and pass through a scanner like the ones at libraries or airports my headphones start to make a high frequency noise.
I just got my HD7 as a replacement for my Venue Pro and am hearing the interference in my headphones that I've never had on any other phone.
It sounds like what my computer speakers would sound like when I had Nextel and a call would be coming in. I only notice this between songs.

[Q] Bluetooth Help

I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing issues with Bluetooth on their S6 Edge.
I have tried two different Bluetooth receivers on my JBL onstage 400P speaker dock. The dock has an Apple 30-pin connector, and the receivers are designed specifically to add Bluetooth connectivity to these kind of docks.
Pairing the receivers with the Edge is no problem. However, the Edge does not remember the settings for the receivers. There's an option in the settings to turn "Media Audio" on or off. The Edge does not remember the last state of the receiver, so when I turn Bluetooth back on, I have to go into the settings and turn Media Audio back to the on position.
Is this a problem for anyone else? Am I doing something wrong?

I'm having nothing but problems with BT on my edge. Especially in my car it rarely autoconnects to my Audi MMI for telephony or the media system for music. When I try to connect to both it messes up the connection to the other or just drops it. Sometimes it just refuses to connect and the only way to resolve is to bounce BT on the phone 1-5 times and if that weren't enough it just randomly shudders or drops out for a minute here and there. I've pulled out my old S4 to verify that my BT devices are fine.
I'm having the same issue with mine. Already have a new one on order. I'm not confident that it is going to be any better with the new phone. I should have the new one later today.
