For some reason my clear text password comes up as a suggestion during autocomplete. How do I reset the autocomplete dictionary to default entries?

Hello here,
I have lost Autocomplete of Contacts when writing a name in the To: Field of an Sms message.
I have Fun Contact installed, which gives the contacts an iPhone type look, since then it's been playing up. I have since uninstalled this, but it still doesn't provide suggestions of names in my contacts list, when I begin to type a name in the To field.
It's very annoying and one of my favourite features of using Sms on Windows Mobile.
Any Suggestions would be really appreciated.

Does other predictive input work fine with your default keyboard? One more thing, when you try entering a contact name, the predictive function searches only for the contacts with numbers entered in the "mobile number" field. Check if your contact has the number there.

but after uninstalling them its fine now

Thanks, that's something I hadn't checked. My other predictive imput isn't working either. I have an idea why it might be. I downloaded KaiserTweak and, changed quiet a few things with it.
I set the Autocomplete to suggest me 6 words and this option is not available from the Drop down menu in the settings menu Of WordComplete.
It is not working anymore even though I have set them both to 3 words and after entering 3 letters. I have since Soft reset the device? Help would be really appreciated.

Found the Answer
As I was saying I had made some changes with the KaiserTeaks app.
One of the changes I had made was to Enable XT9 under the Text Message options.
I realised this just now as I was going through the options and have set it to disable XT9, which is the default and this has fixed the problem

is there any way that i can erase the words that i have wrote in my predictive text, are they stored somewhere where i can just go into and delete them, i want to start all over??

I have a similar issue. When I enter a character in the "to" field I dont get a list of choices to pick from. BUT, if I hit backspace and erased a character the names and/or numbers pop up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?

I have a quick question, I just hard reset my Tilt and now the autofill is not working on my emails or text messaging. I have the autocomplete option checked but no matter what I cant get the address's to auto fill when composing a new message .

Just in case anyone else has a problem with their "autofill" not working, I found the issue and want to share it. I have the kaiser tweak installed and it turns out I have the "XT9" option "enabled" and that stopped the autofill. Once I disabled XT9 it autofilled the addresses on my text messages and e-mails again - very strange, what is XT9 anyways???
Hi, I've searched around on here and can't seem to find an answer to this one!
When I send a text message I have to actually click on the "To:" box and scroll through my contacts!
When I had my hermes I just typed the name of the contact into the box and the matching names were listed below the "To:" box. Like the smart dialing does.
Is there a way to enable this on the diamond? It's really annoying to have to go into cantacts all the time!
Which ROM are you using? This feature DOES exist in every Diamond ROM as far as I know. You start keying in the first 1-2 letters of the first or last name and you get a popup which you can scroll through.

Err. I'll try a hard reset and see if that resolves it?
Maybe it's just got screwed up somehow. I thought it seemed like a strange thing to leave out!
Will be back if that hard reset doesn't sort it out.

Try a soft reset first mate.
This isn't usually Hard Reset material because it is a core feature of the Diamond
Are you using the default ms keyboard by any chance? If so, then run a 'disable t9.cab' or something similar name (sorry, I forgot) from Dutty, it will enable the showing up of the contacts when typing first characters
And if that fails you could select your contact first and click send sms.

I thought this would fix itself over time, but it hasn't.
When I text, if I start typing in the name of the person, the HTC Diamond starts to suggest names after two letters. I really like this feature.
Sometime this summer, this stoped working for my wife's name (and you can imagine that a lot of texts go to her!). There were two contacts entries for her, I deleted one and updated the other. Her contact information is updated with ActiveSync correctly. But when I type the letters of her first name, it brings up similar names, but NOT hers.
How can I restore this to the way it was working without a hard reset?

I tried deleting her contact completely, syncing, adding her contact back in, syncing. Then went to text and typed in her name but is was not part of the autocomplete choices.
What is going on; is there a limit to the number of autocomplete names? Are all my new contacts being turncated out? (I have 1325 contacts).
