Hello,
I would my email goes to my storage card. After setting the registry with the new key (Property and attachments folder) my email still goes to the \windows\messaing folder.
In practice, I have deleted all files under \windows\messaging, \storage card\mapi and \storage card\inbox.mstxxxx folder. Then I have sent myself a new email on my private address and after sincronizing my tytn with exchange server via activesync i have a new email in outlook application and a new file under \windows\messaging folder. If I delete this file I lose the content of the new email just received.
no files under the \storage card\MAPI or \inbox.mst folders.
how can I fix it?
I have a lot of email to download by sincronizing my tytn with pc in my office.
thanks to everibody

I thought the email goes to main memory and attachments can go to the storage card. I wasn't aware that the messages themselves could be stored on SD.

thanks for the reply but I have just solved this problem without any changes in registry.
SkTools does it!!!!! You need to use the "Move data" function to solve definitively this annoyng problem.
this app delete the folder \windows\messaging and create a new one into \storage card\ where you will find every email and attachments.
GREAT!!! now I have 15Mb of more free memory on the phone.

I'm gonna update the ROM tonight on my MDA, and was wondering if there is a free solution to backup my contacts and restore just the contacts with the new ROM? Thanks!
Oh, and without Microsoft Outlook might I add... I have other contacts stored in my copy of Outlook, and don't wish to use it.
Create copy of pim.vol in the root directory of the device - contains contact and appt information, put the copy of it on your storage card (or pc) and when reflashed change the new pim.vol to pim.vo and copy and paste old pim.vol (use total commander or gsfinder file explorers for this) and soft reset and you will have info back.
Also you can backup your voice tag database between hard resets by copying the file CommandModel1.bin found under the windows folder to your pc or to the memory card. After rom upgrade copy it back to your windows folder and all your voice tags are back!
please help me
how i configure that the folder my documents will be store at my storage card.
thanks
Don't think there's a way to configure the location of the default "my documents" folder location. If you want to save files to card, you have to manually select the destination folder.
For those ancient apps that don't offer a folder dialogue for you to choose from, I vaguely remember that replacement DLL that you could use to replace the standard save dialog to include folder selection. But I don't recall it's name now.

Forget it, it was on old trick I wrote very fast... but it doesn't work on my trinity....
PS:
Ok. On my trinity WM6 the following trick works:
You need something like Total Commander CE, PHM Registry Editor or any other tool to modify registry. Be careful.
Change
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\File Explorer\LocalPath
in
\Storage Card\My Documents
This affect just any file explorer window

... and Active Sync will still Sync only the My Documents Folder on your device, which makes the whole registry editing useless...

I haven't tried (reflashed yesterday) but that setting (in HKCU) change only the initial directory of explorer, so it should have any effect on active sync.
The setting in HKLM seem to have no effect, so there is no need to change the active sync folder...
PS: I'm wrong, yesterday my active sync backup worked so I've tried...

hi Rudegar and thanks for reply,
May be I have not understood your answer but I need to import, and keep sincronized the emails contained into the pst file (located on the pc) to my mobile outlook to read them when I am out from office.
Could you explain me better about how to proceed?
thanks

SOLVED FINALLY!
All you need is to set your outlook client on pc to "Deliver new email to the following location:". and point it to your pst file on pc.
After sincro you will find all your email on your pda.
Ofcourse take care about free space on you card.....
bye

I will admit first thing off the bat that I am a COMPLETE noob to this ROM stuff. With that being said, here is my question.
I am currently using HyperDragon IV IOLITE CE OS and am trying to install cab files to fix the FN keys being mixed up on the keyboard, ActiveSync, MMS messaging, and a couple other items.
My problem - how do you install cab files?? I don't have a SD card yet (its in the mail).
Help, PLEASE!
lol. either sync and send it over and then run it or email it to yourself.
Google is GOD!
Basically, you get it onto your phone either by activesync or in activesync on the PC you choose explore and go to a folder you want to darg and drop it into.
Once on your phone use your phone's file explorer and click the cab file.
It should start to install itself.
Oh yeah, you can email it to yourself and open the email on your phone to save the attachment.

I'm glad you cleared that up.
I made a new imail account but it does not show in accout selec
it's active becouse i cot a icon that i reseved new mail.
is there a file i can remove to delete all accout info and start over.
I don't want to hard reset.
thanks jasper
You'll need total commander or some other file explorer. Win mobile file explorer won't work.
Rename cemail.vol in main memory root to eg. cemail.bak and soft-reset your phone.
A new and empty cemail.vol will be created and you're free to delete the old one.
came across this problem several times. seems to be connected to the name of the accout in a way. but dunno anything specific.
