I bought my Touch Diamond at Negri Electronics. Those guys have been my "go-to" guys for a while now. They stand behind their product and they are VERY FAST!!
negrielectronics.com
Expansys sent a phone to me 3 day, when I paid for overnight (which has happened before). Negri ships the day you put the order in if its early enough. I'm impressed with their product selection and very impressed with their service. The price may sometime be a few dollars more, but well worth it.
If you buy online, buy it here, at least you don't have to worry about getting the run around when you need service.
i can get it for $720 AU...... direct from manufacturer.
and this??

che_sir's are working pulls, technically not new, as you would not have the keypad installed in the slide.
I have m2000 cases in gold for about $50 brand new:

It would appear so....supply and demand, market value, free market economy etc etc...
I always try to order some but they never turn up. The whoesale cost is the same as the m2000 casing so che_sir is having people over royally charging that much.
Richard - on a mission to lower the price of XDA housings. Or summat.

But it's out of proportion to the number of devices sold - so why not sell your silver or whatever blueangel, and buy a complete working black one - I bet cost to change would be under $80 that's for sure.

the body shop told me if i brought them my case shell, they'd sand it, prime it, spray it (shiny black!), clear coat it x3, bake it, and set it all for $40 bucks! i'm thinking about doing that.
try to buy a brand new condition IIs for $80 though.. won't happen.. mine looks and runs like a brand new unit

You won't .Never said you would. I said 'cost to change' i.e the difference between what someone would get for their old non-black BA and how much a black xda 2s would cost. Last I sold one on ebay UK got just under $200 and that was mint.

i've seen a lot of fakes there
Its true that there are scams , but there are good deals.
Have some faith. Ive been selling and buying cell phones almost every month, no problem here. Just sold a LG prada today and bought a N95 last week. Again ,just have patient to look for genuine deal and seller.
Oh, Ive never seen a fake kaiser ( tilt ) anyway . I bought this tilt for less than 300. Peep with contract can buy a refurbished tilt for 150 , they can let it slide around 300 easily. Tip for you , Wednesday and Thursday are good days to buy

Not weird, cuz if it ends on Sunday , you have to go to war with few dozen of bidders . The price, therefore, will be higher. Thursday night, not so much. My favorite is holiday or special event ( super bowl ) when ppl are not around their computer to bid. You can check this to add a bunch of auctions into your watch list for few weeks.
Look at the feed back .
Read their seller's feed back. Make sure they have been selling or buying high value stuff cuz some sellers just raise their feedback by buying and selling craps ( less than $1 value ). Take a look at the auction list, pick out some decent one that end in about 1 week. Send message and ask the seller. Finally , snipe
I would rather buy from a casual seller than a powerseller.
pm me if you need some help with ebay lol
Hi,
This is my first post here, but the site is great and I've been coming back here for about 2 weeks while trying to decide if I should buy a diamond and I have to say the people, reviews and discussions have certainly swayed my choice into getting one. It was touch and go (pardon the pun) for a while after some initial bad reviews, but since the ROM update it seems everybody is a lot happier! I know it will take a bit of tweaking, but I'm a S/W engineer, so its nothing I'm afraid of, but it will be my first WM device, so I'm a little scared...
I nearly opted for the iPhone, but its a brick, if not a pretty cool device, but I want something that I can put in my pocket and use as a normal phone... I have an iPod for music and videos, a phone is a phone (but the GPS rocks)
Anyway, I digress, I do have only 2 questions and the first one is pretty redundant from reading this forum, but here goes:
I saw a Touch Diamond for sale on eBay and the guy selling it said that he was selling it because he was disappointed because when he came to use the GPS it was a lie and that he needed an extra component and had to carry something else around? Whats all this about. I did freak a little when I read in all the spec sheets that it was GPS "READY"... what does READY mean? I assume it comes with it all from reading the reviews.
Second question, since my mind is pretty made up and I will be getting one, where is the best place to buy one (for the UK, and UK spec) I'm not looking for cheapness, as i know they are knew and average is around £450ish (inc VAT and Delivery) but dunno where to get one from (Not eBay anyway) any advice on the best online shop, or if anybody knows of any shops that sell them (in Manchester) that would be great.
Thanks for any help in advance!
DG
Plenty of places in the UK to buy them from, if you had done a search you would have found a thread that listed all the places in UK that are selling them and they are uk spec.
But for you ill name a few:
www.expansys.com now have the official uk spec Diamonds
www.clove.co.uk
www.play.com
www.totalpda.co.uk
www.powerupmobile.com
www.htcdirect.co.uk
those are your best bets...think Expansys is based in Manchester but dont know if they allow you to go there and pick up the phone...best to ring them i suppose.
I would recommend Play.com. Never had any problems with them and at the moment it's only £399.99 with free delivery. Others sell it for about £435 or £440.
Yeah, sorry, should have done a search, but battery was dying on the laptop and no plug in sight!
Anyway, thanks for the links guys. I did heard that expansys were selling non official versions and thats one reason I asked, I have used them before but for nothing really as expensive as this.
Thats really cheap for Play, I may used them since I have an account with them...somewhere!
Now I will have the agonising wait and ensuing dissapointment that when I wake up the postman hasn't brought it its going to be a LONG week!

The general consensus is that this is only if you're a business customer buying an additional handset for your account.
Surely if most places are selling it for £400+ Vodafone won't be giving them away with no contract?!
I saw the eBay one with the guy saying no GPS too - and got a bit worried about my pre order one. I actually emailed him and asked about it. He replied saying it was GPS Ready, but needed additional hardware. After a bit of research I emailed him back again saying I was sure it definately had it built in - within another day the auction had closed early!
Whether he'd done a quick sale, or realised his error - who knows?!
Play is the best price - unless you can get a bargain on eBay. Watch out for 'Next Day' sellers whos small print says a week+ unless you pay extra postage!
WARNING!!! if you buy from play.com in the UK, you'll have to pay VAT tax as the unit will probably be held up in customs.. reason being, Play.com ships from a tax free zone.
It's clearly stated in their terms & conditions that the customer is responsible for taxes. Read the fine print!!
2ndly, I called HTC UK the other day and they told me play.com isn't an authorised dealer so you won't get full UK warranty. I'm serious.. a girl at HTC told me...
If it is a USA order
If you are in the US, then the best place to buy the phone is from Ryan at Negri Electronics. I had a problem with the first two phones (the first was a power issue, the second was wifi). I emailed them in the morning, and by the afternoon I had a UPS overnight tracking order. They included return labels, and it was no questions asked. I have bought all my luxry phones starting back at the Nokia 8800 and up til now (yes I have a addiction for cell phones). NEVER HAD A SINGLE ISSUE! The Diamond also registered on the HTC site. The phone is shrink wrapped in the retail package (he has a network, and actually travels to get the product on or before release that are not grey's). Price my be higher or lower but not by much. I trully think its worth it, because you don't have to wonder about what your are getting or when. They ship the next business day (I gotta give them credit on their speed and customer service. The answer emails right away, and phone calls are 99% answered, and messages are returned immediately.
Heres the direct link: DIAMOND- http://www.negrielectronics.com/touch-diamond-unlocked-p-1506.html
DIAMOND PRO: http://www.negrielectronics.com/htc-touch-pro-p-1530.html
Desktop CRADLE: http://www.negrielectronics.com/touch-diamond-desktop-cradle-g300-p-1526.html
Mine is perfect. They really have their business together.
PS: This is not an advertisement, this is my honest opinion. I have made purchase from expansys (paid for overnight, got it a week later).
Do we know when UK networks are gonna start selling these on contracts?
Im assuming all of them are branding this phone?

Tmobile will be doing them from end of the month from what i have heard..as for voda, orange and o2 they will be carrying it but dont really know when...possibly July??.
As for branding??..yep you can be 110% sure that they will be all branded to some extent. As usual Tmobile will make sure its locked to their network and probably Orange. Voda and o2 will probably sell it unlocked but with their branding on it.

Really??? hmm... call HTC and ask them I guess...
Mine shows up as 1 year as well... but with the following message:
Note: Your POP (Proof of Purchase) determines your warranty period. If you cannot provide your POP, your product will be warranted within the above period.
any ideas?? am I still entitled to 2 years warranty??
I have a tilt, in pretty good condition, no bad scratches or anything and always had a screen protector on it from the minute it was opened, flashed with a l26 wm6.1 rom, unlocked, most of the bells and whistles u can load...
how much should I be asking for this phone? I'm gettin ready to get another phone and was looking to sell this one.
thanks guys.
If you sell it to me $50USD.
Otherwise I think they are going for about $300 on eBay.
$300 on ebay? hmmmm
I'm also in the US. St.Louis,MO
yea i've sold 2 of them for about 300 as well.. most you could get would be about 350..

The evidence is there; we just need the statement to come out of ATT. Rumored time is the end of November.
I'm so ready to buy this device but i need to know if there's a better alternative than buying from Amazon. Any advice?
Newegg also has it, I think for around the same price.
There are a few places, but, for the price, I would go with someone you have used before. There appear to be a few batches out with some screen issues.
I almost pulled the trigger a week ago, but now that some carrier in the USA "might" be getting it, I'm going to hold off til I can get one in the states, which should bring the price down hopefully for the online stores. I've never had an issue with Newegg, so other than a trusted source from Amazon, Newegg might be where I get one.

They only provide warranty on malasya so in case of warranty you need to send it to they.
But you can buy a warranty on squaretrade or something like that
Its best if you buy from a local retailer incaase you get unlucky with the panel lottery.
