Just got a Kaiser what i do :P

I just got rid of a N95 and bought a TyTN II, and i would like to know what i need to do?? Do i flash the ROM? do i use the software to upgrade?? what do i do?? thanks... Also whats the best free GPS software? thanks =) also is the external antenna worth it?? thanks again

I just found i that got the KAIS110 and not the KAIS120 is there any difference between them besides the infront camera??

Here's a good list for you:
1. Find out how to connect and explore your device's file structure.
2. Find out what a "cab" file is.
3. Learn to install/uninstall cab files.
4. Browse phone settings.
5. Read FAQ sections and understand what is a ROM, what are the dangers associated with "flashing". Decide if you're ready for it or not.
6. Drop in the "development and hacking" forum, see if there are any programs you find useful. Try them out, you'll learn a lot by installing/using/uninstalling stuff.

When i try to install a ROM, it goes to a Red, Yellow, Blue, White screen, then it goes to a white screen and it gets stock at 0% then on the computer says ROM update failed...

Wow! What a noob. (and I'm not saying that to insult). You have a long way to go before you ask those kinds of questions. It's like my 8 year old asking about the big bang theroy. I can answer, but he won't understand.
I'm gonna say the same thing as eveybody else, READ as much as you can before asking a bunch of questions. You won't understand the answers you get untill you do.
One more tip. Part of my job is training people how to use diagnostic equipment. I always leave them with a 4 word rule to continue learning the equipment after the training. And that is..... Push The Damn Buttons.

If you dont find an answer there, then there is NO fix for you. We call this error the ID-10T error and its unfortunately unrecoverable, and thusly, causes irreversible damage....... especially to your reputation here at XDA-Developers

Research the HARDSPL issue first You cant flash roms without first modding your bootloader as it prevents you from installing non-official ROMS........

Calendar 'dialogs'?
You know you can enable those white "bubble windows" that pop up on receipt of new SMS messages etc. I'm *sure* years and years ago when I first used Window Mobile that calendar reminders popped up in similar bubbles.
How do I enable them? At the moment all I get is my alarm goes off, which just leaves an alarm icon in the top menu bar for me to click on, but I want the brief details to appear in a bubble - is there a reg setting for this?

If yes, mine doesn' t blink or anything. Should it? And if yes, when?
I had an HTC Wizard before which blinked green when I had signal and orange when charging or a message received.

FM radio sucks! Anyone has this problem as well?
Practically useless radio. Even out in the open, the reception is basically like "shortwave radio". Even with the strongest of channels, I can barely enjoy anything.

Every battarie will be loaded in the same way; there is no software which controls the voltage based on the battarie!!

I posted my share of stupidity. I believe we all did.
But I agree it comes to a point where its to much!

I was scheptical so i reserved myself to the idea that we should really make a harmless joke app that shows you the batt is charging. Then see how many people download it.
Also could you guys tell me how to modify the registry so my phone heats up more because want to put it in my cofee every morning.

No, it only supports Windows 3.11 for Workgroups for now...

i did it too, no need for registry, install the cab and put more sugar in the coffee

HTC TYTNii Home Page V6

Anyone know how to make the weather read in English instead of Metric? Love the Home page, its way better than the AT&T. I included it here if someone else wants it, Just do a soft reset of your phone and then download this, its the latest version. ( To do the soft reset take your stylis and press it in the small hole to right of the battery charger connection, When it resets it will try to reload AT&T, when it says in 3 Secounds, press the reset again and you should be fine. There are alot of threads telling you how to do this, if Im not that clear than Google it. After you reset your phone you will loose ringtones and contacts saved to the phone and any caps you have added that arent saved to your memory card (if you have one). Just download the attachemnt open it and it will do the rest. Hope this helps. Now maybe someone can help me, if you know how to change the weather display from metric to english let me know.

er... The metric system is in english.

Ok for those who r slow. In the US we prefer Fahreheit not Celsius. The difference is English to Metric. So if you dont know the answer save your time by not posting. No one wants to read about how u dont know the difference between the two.

Go to Start > Settings > System > Regional Settings and choose any country that uses "English Imperial".
(Which is pretty much no country on the planet, except for the righteous US of A, Liberia & Burma.)
And.. If you read the manual that came with your phone, as well as searching around before asking such a basic question, you'll piss off a lot less people than you already have.

No Worries I think you threw everyone off by saying "English" instead of "Imperial"
Try this as well : Click on your city name in the forecast mode of weather panel (not just the first screen / todays weather) This should bring up the city select creen. On the bottom, click on menu, and choose weather options. You should be given the choice between deg C or F, and auto-update configs.

doesn't HTC Home Customizer do it?

Tap on the city name. When the city selector comes up, tap on "menu" and then "weather options." Select Fahrenheit from the resulting screen.

I tried to go through most of the forum posts but I dont think I could find my answers..
I was wondering if anyone knows what is wrong with my phone. I did an update and now my phone wont work back to normal. All it shows up is the G1 words across a black screen and that is about it.
When I tried to do a reboot it wouldn't work, I can no longer connect my phone with my USB to the computer, so what other options do I have with this matter? I know my phone isn't a brick.

Ive just gone to install serendipidys rom onto my galaxy, looked at instructions downloaded odin off there site via the link
went to install and now it loops At&t load screen then loops. ive now realised there odin link was for captivate.
i cant seem to get download back on and well im stuck.

nope it just shows the white at&t screen n loops - if a usb or charger is connected its a black screen.
i only hoped on the devs i wasnt first to have a mad moment lol.

Dont meen to be rude either as i appreciate all help, but i am supose to be going into hospital soon, and need a fone hence the hurry. ive tried searching but i have had no luck on this problem. i know its a forum not a chat but im desperate. sorry if this seemed rude. but im stuck and obviously a tad worried. if you can point me in a rite direction or a search term that could help id be very greatfull for some assistance

i didnt miss it it did but like i said i know about the JIG/JTAG method but im trying to see if anyone knows any other easy simple bit ive missed. as unless tesco here sells parts at 12:41am im screwed.

If you know about JIG/JTAG so you supposed to know that's the only way in your case, no miracle, sorry.

If it's truly an emergency you could try the heat trick, although jig will be infinitely safer.

The heat trick is a legend...made by ppl who actually have not really bricked or semi-bricked their phones (just a lucky coincidence). He'll only manage to kill his phone for real.

kinda reminds me of the old xbox has broken heat trick. if it did work i think the life of my fone would be shortened. it seems to have totally died now (guess coz cant charge) so im going to have a my fones stopped working chat. i think im still in the 28 days so hopefully they will just replace it. thanks all for the help
and sorry if seemed fussy - i know its my fault but there has always been some kind of software fix with my old htc's guess i rid on hope lol

I seem to be getting that impression too. on a worse case with any of my HTC phones i ever had i could do something to get it working. and i have had some **** ups happen. this was a stupid mistake and im sure on a forum where we have oms posted for both i cant be the first person to click the wrong one as im getting the idea they are simular but hey its a brick now. so carphonewarehouse i go. and just hope they cant switch it on and see the at&t screen lmao.

I had a similar result a couple of weeks back after trying to flash hardcore's speedmod kernel CWM version in Odin - not very sensible...
Couldn't get into download mode at all. After panicking for a couple of hours, I removed the battery for 2 hours, reinserted it and all was good - i.e., got download mode back.
Worth a try, you're not going to make it any worse. Hopefully... Good luck.
