Excellent. That'll be bang on time for my contract upgrade. I dread to think what T-mobile will charge though. Thier Vario II seems to have increased in price since I bought mine last year :-/

A pal at T-mobile uk cs says September release on their network. And a likely £120 supplement (with severe haggling in-store). This could all change though - it depends how much HTC want to charge for them.
p.s. is the screen still QVGA? not keen to go back to that....however if the camera is as good as on my Ameo then I'll be rather happy
I should Wiki that really shouldn't I...
I do doubt that it will release 'on time.' The 8525 was rumored to have a release date of August 2006, but didn't release until mid November. The 8125 and Treo 750 both slipped many months. WM devices just don't get approved that easily on AT&T/Cingular.
I wouldn't be surprised it the 9825 slips until at least Oct. IF August was the initial target date. This is just my speculation and assumptions.

TyTN II Arrived

Today at noon UK time I received my TyTN II. Oh wait, let's rephrase that. I was so impatient that I went and picked it up from the local DHL facility ;-)
I had an e-mail from the courier yesterday to say that they'd be delivering mine today. Unfortunately I'm in meetings all day, so there was no way I could be at home to take delivery.
Took all my effort to change the delivery date to tomorrow, so now I'm going to be 24 hours behind everyone else :-(
Happy Kaiser-ing to everyone who got theirs today though. I'm off to play with my dumb old Hermes for the last time....!
"I'm off to play with my dumb old Hermes for the last time....!"
Awee - be nice to the Hermes - it was good to you whilst it lasted

mine will arrive in 10 hours ...
i ordered one from devicewire.com to hongkong day b4 yesterday and just tracked the DHL and called, they will deliver my phone in 10 hours!!!
Would i be right in thinking that if i 'need' this phone ASAP, i'm looking at no less than £450?

Yep, and that will be excluding shipping charges ...
Sooooooooooooo tempted to get my credit card and order one now, from cloves.co.uk lol
Any dutchies on this board who got one from within the netherlands already...?
Man, this waiting is driving me crazy...
Since i ordered a UK version with our distributor, they should be able to deliver this week i hope
I'm checking DHL tracking for updates every 5 minutes. I must stop. I have work to do. I'm getting behind. Just checked again, no change. What if it's delayed? Then I may not get it on Friday, will have to wait all weekend. Lord help me. Is it really that much better than the TyTN I anyway?
OMFG I JUST ORDERED ONE
£469 >.< i just wont check my bank account for awhile lol
Yo Wiz
Wiz - Notice you have a pretty powerful arsenal of devices:
HTC X7500 WM6
HTC TyTN II WM6
Treo 750 WM6
Which one have PROs and CONs ?
Does the TyTN II hold its own ?

Where did you order it from in the UK? Seems the cheapest so far....

-= Available at T-Mobile UK =-

Confirmed. Just poped in yesterday to T-Mobile on Princess St., Edinburgh, asked for it and manager just took out one from under the counter.
In his opinion i signed the first contract in the UK (been in the shop at 7pm, stock arrived at 6pm) but I doubt it .
So for £100-handset, 12months contract, £20/monthly this toy is mine.
!!!!!!
That is ridiculous pricing!! I wonder how fast I can get up to Edinburgh...
Just been on the T-Mobile website, and they seem to be in the process of updating a few things... and the Vario II has gone missing from the list of available phones, so it looks like the Vario III may be coming!
Think they started shipping last Wednesday if you phoned them up. I phoned on Thursday, got mine Friday.
First contract in the country indeed
Me too, phoned Thursday, got mine first thing Friday 26th.

Heh, I've had mine since last Saturday! Some have had theirs since last Thursday, so that store manager is a week behind the times!
Sigh....
Did we really need yet another thread about T-Mobile availability....?
Anyway, give it a few more hours and the place will be flooded wit AT&T Tilt..
To be fair though, most of the other posts in the threads about T-Mobile are relating to upgrades, and no-one has really said a lot about pricing and contracts etc. I'm on O2 at the minute, but I like the look of Web 'n Walk and obviously am very interested in the Vario III, so I'm keen to hear what kind of prices new customers are looking at. I also want to be able to walk into the store and take a look at the handset, or order online, where most of the other posts (if not all) involve customer service phone calls.
Well, I got mine through Scancom. Ordered last Friday, £0 for the phone, on the Flext 35 package with 1gb WnW at £37.50 for 18 months.

Vario III arrived today.

I've had a succession of pocket PCs since the ipaq 5450 right through to the Vario II and today I took delivery of the Vario III.
I installed Tomtom, google maps, live search and memory map. They all work perfectly.
Am I doing something wrong ?
mine came too - am farting about with it now!
Got mine at 2pm this afternoon - this is how it looks now:
hi patcooke,
how did you get the screen to look like that !!
Ofiaich ...
same as little_rock - farting about! - and I see that, like me, you also live in the people's republic of yorkshire
Hi patcooke!
OK, I kept the big clock, so better try to learn to fart around a bit more..
Yes, I live in the Republic of Yorkshire too, East side, but of Emerald Isle descent.

What carrier did your Vario II come by? Mine should have came yesterday :-(
hmmm I think it was mercury or jaguar or some sh!t... it wasnt dhl i know that much... I'll look later when i get hom - i till got the bag.. did you check with your neighbours to see if it is therE?
I had them send it to my works so I wouldn't miss it. The T-mobile sales guy mentioned UPS but when I pounced on him yesterday he said they don't usually do phones.

Mine (T-mobile) came by Lynx parcel delivery due to the Royal Mail Strike - I ordered the phone last Friday at about 6pm and the phone arrived Monday. So they are still trying to do next day delivery..
I ordered mine on Monday, no joy yet. Supposed to arrive by Lynx yesterday. Phone T-Mobile, they basically said sorry, tough luck it'll turn up eventually.

I ordered mine Tuesday & was promised next-day delivery, but it was late, arriving at 10:30am this morning Worth the wait though
T-Mobile store
I went into the T-Mobile store last night to get one, after speaking with a rep on Sunday and being told it would be £80 on an 18 month tariff at £32.50p/m (with the £5 p/m discount they're currently running). The checked the price again when I got there, and they said on that tariff it should be £139.99, but since the other guy had told me £80 they'd do it for that. Then when they got to the checkout and it asked for payment, it was only £49.99!
Very happy indeed!!! There's a few things I'm not sure about tho, like I can't find any settings for HSDPA, no network wizard thing included, and strangely no satnav software (even tho T-Mobile point out it has built-in GPS) and they didn't even offer me any!

MDA Compact V....Don't expect it anytime soon....

This was the response I got from T-Mobile.
Thanks for your email, asking me when will be the MDA Compact V released.
It's great to know that you're interested in MDA Compact V and I appreciate your choice of phone.
As of now no date has been scheduled for the release of the above phone and I'm afraid I won't be able to confirm the exact date of its release.
However, I assure you that it will be released soon. Meanwhile, you can visit our website by clicking here to keep up to date with all the new models.

The stores arent any the wiser either, the rumoured release date has now been and gone......

strange, as there is at least one member with an MDA V, he posted photo to prove it (look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517114 ). So it seems the MDA V is available right now, at least in some countries...

Can confirm for germany. Available since two days.
Yes I think the MDA version has only been released in Germany so far.
When I spoke to T-Mobile UK they also said it will be released for Business customers before it is available for personal users.
Hey, bought it from T-Mobile (Germany) on Wednesday (20.05.2009) and today I received a small package from T-Mobile
I didn't think I would get it so fast, but I hold my brand new MDA Compact V in my hands right now I'm VERY and ABSOLUTELY satisfied!
Thanks T-Mobile!!

The T-Mobile overseas always seems so much better to me than the UK counterpart. You guys seem to have a faster and more organised release dates of new handsets.
No MDA Compact V available (to me anyways) here in the Netherlands, still waiting for mine.
It does not always work so good
The Diamond was available 1 month after their official release date and they always told me: "The device should be available in some days"... so I had to wait a long time.. as u guys now!

Here the same.
Ordered May, 20th at 16:41 Hrs, arrived May, 22th, 15:20 Hrs via normal DHL-serice.
Very nice deliverytime.
Yes, no hassle in Germany. Ordered mine two weeks ago to make sure I'm in the delivery cue. Received it Monday May 18th by DHL. First I was pretty shocked about the size of the device. Compared to the Diamond 1 (aka MDA Compact IV) it is HUGE.... Not so much length and width, but that thing is one hell of a thick sucka... reminds me alot of the Touch Pro sizewise, just without the sliding keyboard. My beloved Diamond 1 feels almost tiny compared to it. But anyway, feelings do grow slowly I guess, once that ugly magenta branding will be gone Hard SPL rulez!!!!!!!

I had 1 in my hands last week in the T-mobile shop in Eindhoven, but the original TD2 looks so much better, so i chose for the original one instead of the MDA V. At first i thought i want the MDA V badly because it looks good on the photo's, but it isnt true when you see it in real life.
I called T mobile (upgrades department, UK). They said it will be available from 1st week of June and will give me a call when it is out.

Found this post on CoolSmartPhone.com from funkstar(uk)
I had a phone call this morning from T-Mobiles upgrade team and he said the Compact V wasn't due for four or five months!
Got a £15 a month discount on my old Flex25 (£60 or credit a month) tariff instead of an upgrade. Might need to call them back once this has been confirmed as being available.
Either that or I just buy a handset from DeviceWire.

Lets see what happens..
T-Mobile
I bought my Diamond2 on the day it was released from mobile phones direct on a T-Mobile combi 30 tariff with web bolt on for £35/month, free phone, 18 month contract.
Very impressed as it arrived Saturday morning.
Less impressed with the rigmarole you have to go through to try and transfer number from T-Mobile to T-Mobile... ended up just telling everyone my new number.
Cheers, Rob.
