question to the winmo devs - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

hi guys.
dunno if it's the rite section, but maybe someone can put some light onto this case...
recently I was involved in a big conract which was including some serious demolition and relocations on site. I've decided to take out of drawer my ol' trusty nokia N70 to protect my kaiser.
as a bit of a geek, I uploaded vbag emulator and couple of roms to my nokia, just to kill some time on my way to and back from work.
... guess what? on first of the N series phone with ~200 mhz cpu gba games fly. with frameskip set just to 1 I had no problems with baldur gates, zelda or even more speedy games like sonic 3.
now the question: is the good emulator of let's say gba just a matter of good dedicated programing for i.e. kaiser or does winmo suck in general??
I've tried all gba emulators for winmo and nothing can touch that damn old nokia with vbag... (-_-)'
don't get me wrong, I still love my kaiser, but if old N70 can do this wouldn't it be possible on kaiser?
thank You- come again

Worth Investing on HTC TYTN2

Hello people
I have read many of the threads in this section.
I know that the Video Driver problem is not solved yet n will not be solved..as per HTC's reply
Is it worth investing on HTC TYTN2??
Is it stable coz many people say the touch screen is not accurate and even it has some reception problems?
Or shall i go for HTC P4350??
Diamond-a BIG NO..funniest part is that its cheaper than TYTN2..ladies phone n moreover the diamond thread is almost full reveling its original true colour..bad reviews..infact worst..
Plz help n suggest me which one to go for.
Thank u
yea deffinetly worth the investment...driver iisues will be taken care of at about the same time htc drops the driver for the touch pro and diamond which have similar chipsets so thats for sure..just taken some time..other then that its one of the best phones out on the market...and me personally i think it cruches the iphone in so many ways so dont even consider the ****ty iphone...its just a pretty toy. If you want something that will actually do things and has a great inferstructure< the att tilt/ kaiser is one of the best out there...built in GPS, wifi bluetooth..you name it. And with the rapidly growing software available for pocket pc...the downloads are endless and the tweaking is endless..something you cant do with alot of phones, especially with the iphone

Nice to hear from u.Definitely i would never replace my windows stream to an Iphone.
I have to say, I'm a hardcore FPS/MMORPG gamer I play games 6+ hours a day... I suggest if you want smooth gaming experience, high fps, go for a PC or laptop with topnotch nvidia graphics card, a PSP or a NINTENDO DS... If you want watch online videos on TYTN II, yes, it works perfectly fine. I watch m.youtube.com on it all the time and the frame rate is SMOOTH enough to watch!
People are over reacting and amplifying about the graphics problem on a lot of HTC devices. I had the tytn ii for almost a month now and I couldn't be happier with the update. I had bunch nokia phones before, (as you can see from my signature) and there is a good reason I switched to a WinMo device... because it's customization ability and widely available programs.
Well... the only time the video is not working so well is when you try to play .mpg or .avi files... they play slow like a turtle, about 3-5 frames per second...
Just my 2 cent opinion.
wait for the sony xperia x1 or the samsung omnia, as good as the kaiser is its not worth getting it now..its been out for a year and new devices are coming out in the next 2-6 months that will CRUSH the kaiser..phones that actually have an acceleromter for one thing lol
Did you say Samsung. They make the worst Windows Mobile devices. Blackjack I and Blackjack II have internet problems. I do tech support and have to deal with them every day. The settings will be correct but the internet wont connect. You shouldn't have to do a master reset to get the phone working. I would never buy a samsung anything!!.
Xperia X1 is hot so is the Touch Pro!!
How many times a month do we get this question?
Seems like everyday, I heard there were video driver problems, should I buy it.
The only persona that can actually tell if you should buy it or not is you. Every phone has a little "con" the iPhone's happens to be that it doesn't support MMS while even the Cheap Nokia Free phones do.
So I'd say Go to a Cell store and play with it, that is the only way you will actually know.

Diamond speed...any complaints?

Hi all,
I am seriously considering getting one of these after they showed up in a shop here last week. I spent about ten minutes playing with it and was mightily impressed with the TF3D interace and the accelerometer ball game had me grinning like a schoolboy (haptic feedback kicks butt). One thing I noticed is that the main UI seemd to run pretty slow. It took about a second before the screen would slide to a new page when using gestures, is that normal? I suspect that it is probably a problem with the crummy ROM they had (the Chinese ROM's they put on HTC phones here are worthless, the Hermes was unuseable out of the box, which is is what lead me to find the gold-mine of geniuses here on XDA).
Anyway, to make a long post short, does anyone have any issues wtih speed on thier diamond? Anyone using anything other than a stock ROM at the moment? Thanks!
After having played with TF3D a bit (didn't care much for it), I personally use a "Clean" ROM from Panosha or bElite (plain WM61, without TF3D) and it runs very fast and has 70MB free with SBP Mobile Shell.
My diamond doesn't seem any faster than my old artemis. I've disabled touchflo 3D and it's still just as sluggish as any other slower CPU phone.

Have You changed your ROM, or is it the stock ROM?
currently using a cooked rom from the Dutty and Tom Project team diamond V2. With the TF3D in that is very fast, but that is due to the loss of some animation. such as side to side sweeping,
but that is something which i can live with.

I am still with Hermes, but couple of weeks ago went with a friend to get for him Diamond (from ZGC )
This gave me the opportunity to play with original (English) Rom and Chinese one too. Diamond experience ~4+ hours
(1) I felt the same :
(2/3) No, it is not a problem of the "crummy ROM". Diamond performs very slow compared to my Hermes (customized ROM + modifications). My friend runs origianl ROM and is very jealeous about the responsivness and speed of old TyTN
(3) Yes, after I got the TyTN that was the reason to find XDA-Devs too
- My feeling is the interface on Diamond is tooo heavy, which causes raely slow performance. For me personally this device makes sense after getting some clean rom on it. Well, in case getting the device more on "cool factor" side, I think it is coool - but for working device I still preffer what I have now
(perosnaly prefer to wait for Raphael and X1, and then will make my mind about changing device)
As stated, Dutty's ROM shows significant improvements to the performance/speed/stability/touch-sensitivity of the Diamond. I had quite a few complaints myself, about the poor performance of the Diamond as it was OOTB - but I knew that there most likely would be when I bought the phone.. however, i ALSO knew that there were chefs and cooks in these forums who always impress us with their mad-ass skills in creating the best ROMs in terms of performance 'n prettiness. All hail the Diamond chefs and cooks! You've seriously gotten me falling in love with my Diamond even more.
it Flies

I am also using the Panosha Clean ROM and Mobile Shell 2.1 and the phone absolutely flies, it leaves my Cruise for dead. For me this is the fastest Wm6 phone I have ever owned and I have owned a heap of them.
THanks to everyone for all the responses, it's interesting that the TF3D seems to cause performance issues for a lot of people. That also dissapoints me a but as I was thinking of holding out for the touch-pro, but by checking pdadb.net I see that they will have the same processor so can probably expect similar performance issues....is that correct?
Also, I wasn't knocking all Chinese ROM's, there are some awesome ones out there and I have used several for my hermes, I was knocking the crummy ones the guy at my local shop seems to dig up.
Anyway I guess the thing to do is wait for the deelopers here to come up with a fast ROM for these devices that doesn't sacrifice TF3D. I am sure they will figure it out and I wil absolutely DONATE, as should everyone who keeps a ROM on thier phone for more than a few days. THe fact is that our devices would suck without the work of people in the community and we should give something back to those who put down hard-earned money to be the first to buy these phones and then spend the time to make them work for the rest of us. Just my 2 cents....

From kaiser to ???

hi peeps, i currently have a kaiser loving it although know i knows theres better
my question to you is, my upgarde is in two days what do i go for
the nokia n95 8gb
htc touch diamond
iphone (ha ha)
or the samsung omnia
i think ive already decided but i want to see your views on this, although apparently the omnia has no d3d acceleration, but does that mean the camera will be odd as with the kaiser, and i remember some one saying on a poll i did that if i got n95 id not be here, which is true i like this place, some you help a lot and i could get ,y head around a non winmo fone.
nb if the mods see fit to move this then go ahead i only posted as im currently based on this device therefore appreciate the opinions of the kaiser users, rather than the enitre forums

The HTC Touch Pro
i agree, touch pro, diamond, or xperia
Touch Pro (its an improved diamond so i will shortlist, Touch pro has video out man, present or movie directly to screens and projectors)
xperia have you heard about the RUMOR WM6.5 its probably just a rumor but Sony Ericsson will surely introduce something powerful but non-official support might be limited! htc is taking the lead..
iPhone do you mean you wanna cross to the other side of technology
Omnia looks pretty but Odd resolution and bad graphics run a search
Dude after this thread you made me think of a new toy too
not bothered about the odd resolution. but define bad graphics?
and touch pro aint on my network yet, and as above im upgrading in two days so no expaeria
and diamond only has 4gb of inbuilt memory. and no expansion slot. im not think this be wise move
and the iphone was a joke

How long do you have time to choose a new phone? In the Netherlands you can choose (with most providers) a new phone 2 months in advance of your new contract. I waited 6 weeks until The Kaiser was available.
well i an decide from anytime i want but i put the order in in two days.
i tell you whatll decide it for me. if some one can answer
how well does the camera perform, does it fudder when panning like the kiser how fast is the capture
and
how goos are videos. the only way i can watch a decent video on the kaiser is switching to raw framebuffering on tcpmp, everything else is knackered
so does it??
i want to know how well it takes photos coz i kno the kaiser is a bit slow on the uptake
and how well it can display videos
does it have a driver
thats the omnia ordered.
less than 24 hours away
Keep us posted bro...I'm also contemplating on getting the omnia..or if the touch pro isn't it then probably I will wait for the official T3....TyTN 3.....
due to unforseen shipping errors, the company thats supposed to deliver my omnia havent. shouldve been here
cool its here it stunning. uncomparabvle to the kaiser, they are just toio different markets.
and im finally able to watch a massive divx movie without the skipping a checking wether im switched to raw framebuffer

Half-Life on Kaiser?

Just wondering if anyone has considered trying to get this epic game going on the kaiser with D3D working. I've seen quake and doom in action and thought maybe since quake is pretty much the same engine...
I'm still new on this htc stuff, just lost a palm centro to a cracked screen and man, I'm glad I did. This thing is amazing once you flash it a couple times....
But yeah, I'd like to see that happen and possibly get some multi player action. But at this point i'm just dreaming. If someone is working on this and needs a tester im down for it!
p.s. searched for half life on the forums and got nothing so i decided to post
It seems valve never made a ppc version of their games like id did for theirs..and I don't think they ever released source code for half-life..in order to be ported to ARM. Hopefully a Tegra device can get developers to port more modern x86 games..battlefield 1942 on a ppc would be nice
Here's something you might like:
http://rapidshare.com/files/196752750/qhl.rar
It's a modified version of quake for mobile with half-life textures and maps etc

slightly off topic...

hey i know this i kind of off topic but... dont know where else to post or any other site with the brains thats on here...
I was just wondering would it be possible to port winmo 6.5 to the Satio... with like the camera UI... or would it be like a MOUNTAIN of work?... just curious cuz i cant switch from winmo now that ive been using for awhile... its just the best!!!
Is Satio already out??
first i think it would be very hard, it uses symbian. it would be have driver issue's, i think. it wouldn't be easy. it uses different CPU than the WM phones.
creative imagination! I know that wm6 has been run in iphone ,but performs badly.
I'm curious about that what's point of Satio attracting you?
the design is just off the charts!!! the camera, the processor and its pretty slim...
but i will probobly just buy the X2 hehe i own the x1 now and its the best phone ive used so far just hope the x2 can top it!!!
.
I have just purchased the new satio. The camera is fantastic, build quality excelent and the screen is up there with the iphone. But the s60 operating system is a bit of a let down. I love the new WM6.5 (I have it running on an ipaq 614). It is way beyond me to even begin looking at porting the operating system across but is there anyone out there who would like to give it a go. I would be very grateful and I suspect there may be others who share my view.
