the shortest time for the phone to dim is 10s and 40s for it to go to sleep. Can i adjust the setting for it to sleep from 40s to 30s or so? so i can apply this tweak
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLock Enable from 0 to 1

Hi guys,
I've tried looking thru the settings of my phone for locking my phone after certain duration but i couldn't seem to find it. is there a way in the phone? cause sometimes i get too busy to even hold on to the 'end key' for 3 secs and and just dump it into my pocket. ended up it goes to other programs or something else.
hope you guys can point me in the right direction. i also found 3rd party software to do this but is there a need to?
anyway i'm not refering to getting timeout to the password screen.
Personally, I didn't find this kind of feature too,
but there is a nice app, that will do this for you

Automatically lock your Diamond --> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockEnable from 0 to 1 and everytime your backlight goes off the device is locked
Delay device autolock: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockTimeout -> Change the Dword value (30 = 30 seconds, etc)

ah... apparently i didnt look hard enough for the possible tweaks.
i was trying out maniac's auto keylock. didnt quite suit me.
thanks a lot guys

ok for the first tweak i understand what it meant.
but what does the second tweak do exactly?
Its suppost to delay the autolock for the specified amount of seconds after the backlight turns off.
Hi,
I got autolock activated on my phone. But it also locks during calls - disabling the whole call menu. Is there a way to stop the device from autolocking during calls?
I am interested too in having a solution for this.
Thanks.
Sure one could use S2U2 for this. But I don't like this program, it doesnt really work that well on the Diamond.

LOOK HERE...
That doesn't help, because autolock locks when the light is dimmed. NoSleep prevents from blanking, but light will also be dimmed after a time and that locks the phone.

You should, however, be able to delay the autolock when the screen is dimmed by:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockTimeout -> Change the Dword value (30 = 30 seconds, etc)
I have the same problem, and I have set also the delay for autolock here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockTimeout to 30s but the problem still exists.
Any solutions?

I've got the same annoying problem with raphael locking during the calls but this doesn't work. With timeout set to 30s device locks immediately after the screen turns off.
I turned off sleep during calls, fast sleep, light sensor is off during calls, but screen eventually turns off anyway and then autolock does its job...
i found the solution
I changed HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Controlpanel/AIILEDMgr/LightSensorToScreenOff
to 30 seconds an that did the job!!!
This is my solution:
Removed the Dim Backlight and just leave the Turn Off Mobile Device after 40 Seconds.
As u know autolock start when the Dim is active. So... if u remove the dim,... the autolock start as soon as ur display is completelly off.
Bye
???
I am sorry, but I do not understand what you did.
"removed the dim backight"?? in regedit? in a menu?
try like this. It's italian but u will understand of course.
I've got a slightly different problem in that when my phone is Autolocked, I can hit the wake button and the screen dims to the lowest possible value.
Sometimes it stays at that lowest possible value indefinitely and even once the unlock operation is successful. So, I'm stuck nearly not being able to read my screen.
This instant and permanent dimming isn't countered by Lumos, which I also have installed. When I disable Autolock, Lumos always has my screen the right brightness. When I enable Autolock, Lumos doesn't seem to be able to do anything at all.
So, my question is, how do I prevent Autolock from dimming my phone when it asks the unlock question? Or is it even Autolock doing this? Perhaps it's a combination of Autolock and Lumos or even something else?
I just changed the settings in settings>Keylock to the second option. The buttons aren't locked now during call, so you can still hang up.
Maybe a solution?
[UPDATED]
Fixed in 4.2.2 update
THIS ONLY SEEMS TO DO IT IN LANDSCAPE MODE!?!?! WTF!?!?!?
This may seem minor to most of you but I use this to time my daughters physio exercises.
Can someone please try this out? Set screen/display timeout to 1 minute. Go to standard clock app. Swipe sideways to countdown timer. Set timer to 00:05:00. Start timer. Leave the phone for around 2 1/2 minutes (so display times out and phone locks). Unlock phone.
How many of you now have 12 hours left to go!?!?
Or is it just my phone randomly adding 12 hours to the countdown when the screen is off? :silly:
Mine did not, but I'm not sure if we have our locks set to the same action. I set my phone to require a pin after 15 minutes of the screen being off, how do you have yours set so I can mimic your settings?
No screen lock, sleep 1 minute.
Updated
Only seems to do it in LANDSCAPE mode!?!?
I can't manage to reproduce the bug on my end, but then again, I'm on a Sprint model.
I'm using a pin lockscreen. I cannot get the display sleep time to stay at anything other than 15 seconds. I can change the time to anything else but once I leave setup it's back to 15. Any ideas
Did you set both the Automatically Lock time under Security & Screen Lock and the Sleep time under Display?

Yes, Lock screen after 30 seconds, Sleep after 30 second of inactivity.
My screen timeout is at ten minutes but the screen dims and turns off after 10 seconds and it's incredibly bothersome when trying to read an ebook for example. Have you encountered this? Any suggestions?
Edit: not a Always on display problem
Place AOD on schedule? So, not always on

It still dims after 10 seconds with the always on display off. Do you know of any setting that could change this in thynote9?
Are you using some power saving mode?
Doesn't AOD dim after a while after awhile so as not make the pixels burn unevenly long term? Just use a clock if you want it to be on long.

The problem is the screen dimming after ten seconds not the AOD display. I turned off the AOD display and it still dims too fast.

No,
Does this setting possible have anything to do with it. It used to be default 5 seconds for most phones. Is this possibly interfering with the dimming?

GO to Settings, advanced features and select 'Smart Stay' to on position.
Your screen will time out to whatever you've set it in display settings, but smart stay will stop that happening if it know you're watching something

That is better than before but still not what I want. I basically want the phone screen to be on until I turn it off or the amount of time I put on the screen timeout elapses. Is this just impossible on this expensive device?
Hi,
I'm afraid the max is 10min in screen settings.
The only other way is in developer options, then 'stay awake always' but this only allows this during charging(plugged in)
To enable dev option, you need to go to settings/about phone/software information, then tap build number around 7-8 times

This app is incredibly useful though I am worried about the battery usage. I'm going to use this. Thanks a lot!
