With WM5 on my Qtek8310, i could change each separate profile seperately, so i could set auto-anser on incoming calls for the handsfree profile only.
With WM6.1 on the HTC TD, i can only set auto-answer in Settings, Phone, More..., irrespective of the profile. So, the previous solutions for coping with a lack of manually selecting profiles (i.e. assiging 'vibrate' to the end-call button) won't do for solving my problem.
Any ideas?

Hi all.
I am having a problem with my b/t headset settings changing from what I set them too, back to a default(?) setting. I set it up in my accessability tab as allow other devices to connect>paired devices only, and it will change at random to uncheck the "allow other devices to connect>and checks the "all devices" setting. When it does this, the b/t will not connect on incoming or outgoing calls.
Any ideas???............ 8)

I used to use pocket bluetooth tools on my xda2 and found it excellent, especially the ability to turn bluetooth on when receiving a call and off after completion.
Does anyone use this on there alpine / xda 2i and if so does it function correctly?
If not can anybody recommend something that'll turn bluetooth on / off automatically on an incoming call.
Thanks
If memory serves bluetooth tools was for MS stack and does not work on the Alpine, at least it wouldn't on mine. Phonealarm from: http://www.pocketmax.net/phoneAlarm.htm purports to control bt through its profiles manager.
Haven't tried that capability yet as my devices' bt requires password on each activation, software fault which I'm about to rectify with the first hard reset of the year (thanks Pug - I'll stick with your radio!)
DKOT today plugin and PocketZenPhone have the feature "bluetooth on call". They dont work on my device but yours, you can try if you want.
I'm looking for some software to configure different profiles.
Situation:
I have a car with a charger and a BT radio system.
I want to disable BT when i'm using the phone roaming, 'normal' profile, but when I go into my car and put it in the charger, it switches to the 'car' profile and swichtes on BT automaticly.
I've seen this with old Nokia's. If you pressed the standby button once you got the option between 'silent', 'normal' and 'vibrate' or something.
Is there something like this ?
Hi viper,
Spb Phone Suite will do this for you.
Actually - with automatic profiles, it has the ability to change as soon as you connect the car kit
Check it out - it is available fully-featured with a trial.
SPB phone suite should work for you but I'm partial to SBSH phoneweaver. Phone suite has call filtering, phone weaver has more options from a profile perspective imo.
I am having trouble pairing my X1 up to my BME E46 Bluetooth connection.
It seems to pair, then drop immediately after it links up when the ignition turns on.
I have tried adding the sap profile cab but still no joy, although the phone is saying its still connected.
I have read that it might work if I change the phone description from smart phone to mobile phone in the registry.
The quote below is where I read something similar on a Merc. I have tried what is described, but the phone is still showing as a smartphone on my pc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
.) Jetware, as I posted earlier has been removed.
ii.) I still had the SAP Profile addition downloaded from one of the forums in XDA on.
iii.) Change Registry setting:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Sy s\COD
the default is 5898764 (Decimal) which is "Telephone (Smartphone)" which you would think would work. Changed to 5374476 (Decimal) which is a normal phone.
iv.) Restarted the phone.
v.) Started the pairing process from the car - failed as per before.
vi.) Started the pairing from the phone, and they work!!
Now, they pair automatically as how they would before....

Have you tried connecting normally (ie not using the SAP profile)? does that work? I think you can just disable SAP in one of the bluetooth options. Try that.
I recently connected my X1 (running smaberg's Touch ROM) to a hired Merc, it was fine - in bluetooth headset mode.
slightly OT: I experimented with the SAP profile with my car, I decided against it. OK, bigger & better antenna and better battery usage during the conversation, but it obliges you to have your contacts on the SIM, can't use call history etc unless you called a number on the SIM etc. Well if you have less than 128 (?) numbers on your phone - but the beauty of syncing with Outlook is multiple numbers per contact.
I have a profile that sets my phone in silent mode when I'm at work.
It is set up with 3 states: wifi near, NOT Bt connected (my car) and NOT headset plugged (any)
The task is simply all volume set to 0. (With the use of tasker plug-in Sound Mode.)
Then have a profile that changes the sound mode to Vibrate Mode when I connect my Samsung Galaxy Buds+ to the phone (Samsung Galaxy S8.)
BUT how do I get tasker to go back to the last profile that was activated when I disconnect my buds?
I have a separate Volumes Task that I run when say, BT connected/disconnected. In that Task, I have Actions set for the various situations.
You could also have a Profile set to watch for another Profiles Active status.

Ok. But what I want if that if I'm at work and my work profile is enabled and I connect my BT headset, the profile changes to my BT profile, and that's as it should. But when a disconnect my BT headset I want tasker to go back to the previous set profile, in this case my work profile. I don't know how to do that in tasker.
You could use variables. You could set a certain variable when work Profile active, and when you disconnect the BT, check for that variable to set work Profile as Active again.
Personally, I wouldn't set your BT headset as a Profile. Instead, just use simple Tasks that would auto-adjust your volume, display brightness, display timeout, lock, etc. And set your Profiles as Home, Work, etc. and make them all auto, based on anything, i.e. near a certain wifi.
