When in the standard WM texting screen, the recieved text is huge!
It USED to be tiny after I posted a message about this before and someone told me to go into Settings > Screen and make the text size small.
My text for the current message I'm typing remains small, but for some unknown reason, the received text has jumped up a couple of sizes.
Another suggestion was to click on the keboard settings and choose 'Other Input Methods' > Options > Options > and change both zoom levels to 75%, but this does nothing either.
How can I get my received text back to the minimum size?!?!?!
I think this phone is brilliant, but all these silly niggles are really getting me down. The other problem I've just started having is that on every web page I open, the keyboard pops up. When I close it, it pops up again - and does this a couple of times.... eventually staying closed. REALLY annoying!! Surely it should only pop up if I click on a text box?

Use the zoomwheel located around the dpad. you can increase/decrease font size of conversation this way
BTW, the wheel also works in Mail and in the Office applications, so if you touch it by mistake you can inadvertently change the text size.
Perfect...
Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks guys...
Thanks! I was wondering why it seemed to randomly change size!
silly question but where is the zoomwheel?

It's the round circle on the botton of the key/touchpad which you just have to touch with your finger and swiffle it around clockwise for bigger text and counter-clockwise for smaller text!
Good luck!

I just noticed that the Windows icon on the upper left of my screen which opens the start menu, is cut off. Only the left half is visible and it makes it more difficult to tap to open since the icon width is half the original size. Is there a way to fix this?? BTW I did a search and there was no info available on this...
try schaps advanced config,if problems still happens then try hard resetting, you might need a different rom

This was an Issue on Dutty's April 1 Hybrid ROM. Did you look in there for solutions? I don't think there was. Was a bug in the Rom.
Thanks for responding. I was finally able to figure this one out. I opened WkTask from preferences and there is a setting for horizontal offset. I just increased the value in the box and it fixed it in "real time" ie as I increased the number the open program field moved to the right, uncovering the Windows icon and giving me improved access to tapping it to open the start menu. All is well!
I'm having a bit of bother with the texting on the Diamond.
Its probably a standard WM issue, but as this is my first WM phone I dont know if theres a way to fix it?
I send a text (no problem) and then I get a reply...
When I reply to this it goes into 'conversation view' - but only leaves me one line to see what I'm writing. Is there a way I can move the previous texts up and get say 3 or 4 lines to see what I've written?
Even when I hide the keyboard I can only see 1.5 lines of the text I'm writing.
A tad annoying!
Yeh, I find that fairly annoying too. I definitely miss the SE P-series implementation for handwriting recognition, takes up no screen space at all and is accurate and responsive. If WM could integrate that, would be a generally much more usable platform...
start > settings > system > Screen > text size.
smaller leaves more space in your type screen, allowing u to see more
also in your keyboard there's an options button, press it, look for zooming when typing, and reduce it
Anyway to make the new sms screen pop up fast?
Seems to be needing alot of steps to create a sms and MMS

thanks for that...
now I can see 3 lines at a time! Still not ideal, but a huge improvement
Does anybody know, if it's possible to have more than one visible row of text when answering an sms in the conversation app in WM 6.1? I find it very annoying, not to see the text completey that i've written.
the only thing I found is to make text size smaller (Start-settings-screen-text size) You get 2 lines and avery line has lot more text, so I think it's enough, I don't feel any problem when messaging (I have text size set to the 2nd level). I think it's much more readable than bigger text that make confusion. But it's an opinion
Whilst in the text\email message drag your finger along the side of the middle button. You will see some markings on the button with arrows going round in a circle. You can use this to make your txt bigger\smaller.
Hope this helps
Thanks, smaller text size did it
Fortunately the diamond has the VGA display so it stays readable...

Thanx for the link, I had missed that one
A very annoying thing happens when I open a text message on my Kaiser. The default vertical position is all the way at the bottom of the message, causing none of the message to actually show up on the screen. I always have to scroll to the top. This happens for all messages--unread, read, sent. Is there any way to change this?
If you have Kaisertweaks loaded ... under pocketie dpad scroll should be disabled. (believe that was a fix last time I searched..)
Yep, that's what worked for me

Thanks guys, Tht's been annoying me too. Gotta love these forums!
Thanks. That worked, however I really liked having the D-Pad function enabled because I hated PocketIE scrolling to the next link rather than just scrolling down. Is there any other way to fix the problem?
is there any cabs so that when your texting you can see more than 1 line of written text ? i find it impossible to write long texts as you can only see last couple of words and its daft . anyone ideas? please thankyou
hmmm, any pics of what you mean?
havent really got any pics but just sort of like a normal phone whereas you can read pretty much all of what your typing on the same screen instead of getting to word 4 and finding word 1 has vanished of the screen .
He means when you're using the HTC on screen keyboard which is so big it takes up like 90% of the screen leaving very little of your message visible when writing a new SMS. I don't use that keyboard myself but I do remember it from when I first got the phone and tried it out; it would be good if the font size on the 'compose new SMS' screen could be made smaller to help people who do use that keyboard.
One of the tweaks packages allows you to change editor from threaded to classic - maybe not ideal but a workaround!
I changed the height of the SMS reply part of the screen and I changed the Windows Mobile font size in the Settings - System - Screen - Text size tab. And while reading your sms (thread), you can also adjust the conversation font size with your 'scroll wheel'.
User Letter Recognizer
I use the Letter Recognizer method, instead of querty keyboard or the T9 keyboard input methods.
it's much easier to write messages and the screen occupied by the Letter Recognier itself is very little, hence more text lines visible. Just perfect.
It might take some time to get used to the Letter Recognizer. But you'll really like it once you get a hang of it.
