Hello, almost neighborou, I am Czech. I have Diamond for one day, but I spend hours findong some info - here is shortly what I know: Yes, Diamond has some Graphic Drivers, but still nothing exciting yet. It seems that 3D drivers are much better than 2D here. If you want a proof, a can say that on TyTN 2 in some bench thay gave 140 FPS, but Diamond gave only 80! Of course TyTN had experimental drivers. This means that Diamond has big reserves in performance, and they are waiting to be used. The 7201A dualcore CPU is basicly high-end technology theoretcally much better than Xscale CPUs, but its bad optimalised. (I heared that new Google phone will have one, but I am not sure). Yes, CoreCodec can use QTv, but now it is almost clear that Diamond has moch more to offer from HW. So, Oc will not help you, only new ROM can. There are many great pople and many ROM´s, and there is also preassure on HTC to come with better drivers, and personally I think it will be bigger and bigger, due to Touch Pro. So just wait, it take some time, but I trust there will be more power than you need sometimes.

Touch Diamond vs Samsung i900 Omnia

Hi folks
I'm looking to get myself either a tocuh diamond or samsung i900 somnia - I cant decide as they both have pros and cons so for me the deciding factor will be how well they play emulators eg FPSECE.
The screen size on the omnia is a non-standard 240 x 400 so will everything still work ok? such as key mapping?
Also, the samsung has an extra 100 mhz but no 3d chip do you think that means it will be faster, slower or make no obvious difference?
Comments appreciated!
hymmm this is it
Elooo!
Just Use Google... There is lot of comparisions... Latest is

and (i have diamond and i'm proud of that )
there are some features thata Diamond don't have....
Cheers... ;]
nobody know the answer to this one?
You have asked a very subjective question, but as you have said "deciding factor will be how well they play emulators eg FPSECE"
I would suspect the the Diamond would be better at running emulators as it does have a dedicated graphics chip with 64MB memory.
I appreciate your opinion but how well it performs in FPSECE isnt subjective as performance is determined by fps.
Im curious becasue in Spb benchmark Omnia thrashes Diamond???
5796.7 Omnia
1652.7 Htc Diamond
Strange?

Question, possibility to upgrade to Kaiser, need advice from Kaiser(tytn2) owners

Hey m8's, sorry if stuped question but i need an answer asap. I've been a htc wizard(branded as TMO MDA) user for long time(about 4 years now?) and now have a chance to upgrade to HTC TYTN2(Kaiser), in the user roms that are available for kaiser is manilla 3D possible, or the same old Manilla 2d? Wizard has only 195mhz processor and m3D was said to need more well kaiser has 400mhz is that enough? Basically trying to see if i should upgrade from otherwise great(never failed me in 4 years and 100's of rom flashes)wizard. Is the CPU overclockable(on wizard i am running it(stable/everyday) at 290mhz(orig 195) thats 150% OC, is 550mhz possible on kaiser(150% oc), if not what the best stable(everyday) oc u got it to? What are other things that i should know about Kaiser?
1) gps
2) more memory
3) 200 mhz faster processor(before oc)
Ty for all that answered and made me make my descision
To mods: sorry if wrong place - please move
Hi,
I'm a new user of Kaiser. The ROM I use (see my sig) is quite stable, although I haven't really task it heavily. The bundled Map King doesn't run on this ROM though.
Unfortunately the chef has stopped development of this ROM, however, many others also cook 3D and stil updating, you can look around.

From what I have observed, the Kaiser cannot be overclocked. The Wizard can be overclocked because it is OMAP based, whereas the Kaiser is ARM based.
There are ROMs out there for the Kaiser that use TF3D, but most are TF2D since 3D is better suited for 192dpi screens and a bit more resources than the Kaiser can offer. They are, however, making great strides to make TF3D more suited for the Kaiser.
The only beef I have about the Kaiser is the slide out keyboard. The keys don't press the same as my old 8525 (Hermes). Other than that, I love my phone (until the Touch Pro2 comes out for T-Mobile US).
There is an app that can overclock on the Kaiser, right now I have mine (AT&T Tilt) set to 520mhz , so that should be close enough to 150%. The App is called HTC Performance I believe...
Thread moved - not related to ROM development.
BTW, HTC performance doesn't seem to do much on Kaisers. Here's one discussion on it : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395767

ty for all the responces, the lack of oveclocking potential is putting me off i gotta say, i am OC fanatic and thats what drawn me to wizard initially. Will look into htc performance more, anything else anyone else want to ctribute as to what they love/like/hate about their kaisers?

Htc performace is load of crap and been proved useless and void over and over again for the kaiser by benchmark tests.
If you are on T-mobile in the US, just wait for the Touch Pro 2. It is rumored that T-mo should get it as the "Wing II". It's about time...
I still have my Wizard (iMate KJam). I also ran OMAPclock to overclock it, but stopped this a long time ago. I got my TyTN II (Kaiser) last January (2008) and still going strong with original stock rom. I have just customised mine with Spb Mobile shell which, imho, is way better than any form of manilla, and it is fully touch AND D-Pad usable. I have v2.1.5 with the Spb MS Fast Customiser found on this forum somewhere.
It is like night and day switching from the wizard to the kaiser. You won't be sorry.

Topaz vs. Diamond benchmarks available?

I currently own a diamond and I'm considering a topaz as my next phone. I see that both devices has similar cpu so I'm curious if topaz is actually faster than diamond in any way (graphics / applications / file system)? Did someone actually measured the difference between these two phones?
I'd say buy a hero
But Diamond vs Topaz, The Topaz will benchmark better ;-)
Although there are still some bugs...
I had a Diamond before my Topaz and I can say, the Topaz is better in every way except for size.
The Hero could be a good option for me once the quality (and quantity) of the software written for android reaches the quality of the WM software. Probably after one more year...
I think in pietrucci's benchmark file are some Diamond ROM's. There might be another file in the Diamond forum with his benchmarks. So you can compare directly.
No doubt, it is much faster then Diamond. I have both and a'm very happy with the Diamond2

Yes, look at the threads "Some benchmarking...", both on the Diamond and on the Topaz forum. Benchmarks for lots of ROMs, stock and cooked.
Topaz is much faster...
