Camera on the Tilt records for only 9 seconds. Picture mode is fine, only video is experiencing the problem. I tried setting duration to no limit, but it automatically stops after 9 seconds still. I tried various radios (i'm using dutty's 6.1 hybrid v2) but nothing, with one the camera just stopped working (1.64.8.xx)

You have how much free space left on your internal or storage memory wehen this happens? How much space do you have before attempting to record the video and where are you attempting to save the video? What happens if you attempt to save it to the other memory location (eg going from internal to storage card or vice versa). Perhaps its stopping because it's running out of storage space?
i have 90mb left of internal, and around 330mb on the card, i tried saving to both and its the same thing
u mgiht need to either hard reset or uopdate camera
how do i update the camera?

I installed the GPS Dopod rom a few days ago and everything worked fine.
Now at once my camera doesnt start anymore, with message:
Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera.
Haven't changed anything in the last days.
So I wonder, why didn't HTC come up with this GPS rom immediately?
There must have been problems, were those camera problems?
Is your camera still working?

yep (with dopod rom)
No problems with dopod test ROM here. Except I notice that sometimes it locks up after using a GPS program whether it be iguidance or tomtom.
Hmm sorry my mistake.
Was trying some ati drivers from another rom.
That caused the problem.
Camera is working again.

Slightly off-topic but still related to the Trinity camera....
Has anybody tried playing with the hue, saturation and contrast settings to obtain decent outdoor pictures? I can't believe pictures from this thing can be so awful. I had a Qtek S200 before and pictures were bad but now with the trinity they are 10 times worse.
Camera OK

Really ? But it is still failed on me even though I had upgraded mine to Windows Mobile 6.0 (HTC official ROM) recently. It only happens when I try to switch to seconday camera instead of main.
I still got the same error messages as stated before.
"Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera"
Regards,
Hi
I also have a problem with de camera, it works well when i start it from the menus, the problem i have it´s when i press de camera button it ont start|?
I´ve tried to assign the program to that key but i cant find de camera option to assingn !?
Anny help, please. Thanks
Fredy
Secondary camera doesn't work !
"Unable to start Camera.
Unable to initialize camera"
The error messages above occurred when I switch my camera mode to use secondary camera. When I'm using video calling mode, I can see only blank (dark) video output. I'm not sure if this is a common problem in Dopod D810 once upgraded to WM6.0. I had asked the HTC support (Singapore) about it and they recommended me to send to Service Center. I'm reluctant to send over my unit to them since it is already out of warranty and am sure it would be quite costly for me to bear.
I wish if anyone of you here has similar problem like I had, do share your experience and your workaround solutions (if any). If there's none at all, I assume this is more to hardware related issues. Which I can't do anything about it but to live with it
Thanks again.
Regards,
Daneal
it sure seems like the loudspeaker is quieter, my music isnt as loud i dont think.
also the battery drains a lot faster, have you guys noticed any of this?
Sounds to me like you need to read up on radios.

your right! supposed to fix my camera problem too! thanks!
EDIT: so i upgraded the rom but it didnt fix the camera or sound problem.
my camera problem is that i have 4.1gb left and it says i can only take a little under 200 pics. the estimate of remaining memory is way off. however in the settings under memory the remaming storage is correct.
Yes, I noticed.

Is it a radio issue?

did u make sure that the camera is supposed to save pics to storage card by default and not in main memory....u can change this through settings in camera options or kaiser tweak as well.

yes, it does say its saving to the storage card. this is really weird, cuz it seems like when my internal memory lowers, the storage card estimate goes down as well.

yea there's a topic in the upgrade section that takes about if u have camera or sound problems (which i have) it should fix it. it lists different radio upgrades. didnt seem to help tho..
The speaker issue may be due to the hd wow effects or whatever that ****s called. I dont remember which dutty rom had that prog in there but it reduced the volume quite a bit on my phone. I just had to disable it.
[PROBLEM SOLVED]
Hey!
I've got a problem here. My X1i stops recording video in random time. I've tried to change some options, record to SD or internal memory, even hard-reseting it. Nothing helped. I'm wondering if there is somebody can solve this...
Thanks in advance!
(if there's the same topic, i'm sorry, i didn't found it)
Haven't heard of this, but I am assuming you turned off the option that makes it for 'mms' -- E.g. Shorter record times to save space?
Maybe someone else has heard of it.. wait for someone with more experience i guess
I'ts none of it: i have lenght set to "normal" and have 7 Gigs of free space. Time meter is displaying 9:59:59 of record time, but it stops in random time. Could it concider a snapshot button?
Is there any alternative recording software like cool camera, that'll work on X1?
Hey! It seems to be solved - it was because the hair between button and connector - and sometimes it caused uncontrolled pushing - even a halfpush (like to autofocus) stopps recording so you know what's next
Sorry for doublepost - i've got problems with editting.
Recently i was able to take real close picture with macro and auto focus. Till one day, mine focus was completely gone even though the setting remain the same. Is there any possibilities that it is a camera software problem .
Currently i can only take pictures of object at least 1 meter away. Nearer object appear blurrish...
Try clearing the data from the camera app..
Also restart the phone (if you haven't already) and clean the lens. Simple yet sometimes v.effective
If that doesn't work have you tried searching within the thread of your current ROM?
I tried but to no avail. I even reflashed the camera firmware. I suspect the lens was somehow stuck or wad when i drop it when i was aslp.
If your still under warranty send it back...
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA
Try other camera app's. Is this problem not disappear is problem with you firmware and try re-flas rom.
I tried reflashin it, factory reset, format everything that could be formatted. Still like the same. Look like i have to replace the camera module myself. SIGH

Where are you storing them and do you have a legitmate SD card?
I had that problem storing them on the SD card, would delete them randomly (even on a legit Sandisk card). So now I just use the internal storage, no problem with saving them but it shouldn't have to be this way.
