Just curious, is it possible to pan images? Seem to have to zoom out then zoom in on the specific spot you want to look at all the time.
When trying to pan it just moves to the next image.

Tap and hold the image for a few seconds then you'll see a box in the corner of the screen comparing the image with the currently viewing section of the picture. Now you can pan

People,
does anybody know how to zoom in or out with the main camera on the back?
If I want to take a picture and press the center key in the navigation pad, the auto-focus is used, and the picture is taken immediately after that. I tried all of the keys, but didn't manage to use the zoom-function...
I know there is a zoom-function, because there's a '1.0x' displayed in the left side of my screen...

You tap where you see the 1X. But you can not zoom on the highest settings. So for example if you are set to "L" or "S" definition you will be able to zoom but not if you are on 3meg.

Mike,
thanks for your promt answer!
It works just like you described. Only in 1M-mode or lower resolution, the zoom-functions is available.
Btw, instead of tapping the screen, you can also use the navigation-button up- or downwards to zoom in or out...
Saluti!
Since you say that it only works with lower resolutions, i take it it's only digital zoom (giving picture loss through interpolation and such), correct?
Has anyone else noticed that when viewing pictures in the Album application in TF3D2, that the Gsensor appears to have no effect? Landscape pics appear in Landscape mode, no matter how you hold the phone, upright or sideways, and portrait pics appear in Portrait mode even if you've tilted your phone sideways.
Or is it just me? It's a bit of a pain if you're holding your phone in one hand and want to see all your pics the right way up!
(I'm not referring to slideshows, by the way)
This is strange, I've noticed it to. I'd like the photo album to auto rotate - any tweaks that anyone can suggest?
And even Gyrator doesn't rotate when viewing a picture. When i'm viewing the whole set of pictures, it works, but as soon as i select one, it doesn't. Strange...
Just wondering, how is the device to know what the bottom of the picture is? The picture could have been taken landscape or portrait, depending on how you held the device when you made it. IMO it's the best solution to just display the picture best fit on the screen...

The device does know. In the tab for pictures, it displays all pictures in their right aspects. As it also does in the gallery. Just not when you click on the picture to bring it up.

It must be stored in the file somewhere...
...anyway, getting back to the point. The Gsensor has absolutely no effect when viewing pictures. I cannot hold my phone upright and view a landscape image. This seems wrong to me - I'm 100% sure my old Touch Pro used the Gsensor to determine which way to display your pics - this seems like a big step backwards!
Mind you, it'll all be moot in September when Winmo 6.5 comes out - TF3D will be pretty much redundant :O)
any program that can help on photos rotation? thanks.
i get the same problem
i have used gyrator2 but it just can rotate the interface and 180 deg

i tried gyrator as well and it doesn't work maybe i dont know how to set it
Dosen't the Photoalbum rotate itself?I think it rotates but lets the pictures in their original position/rotation.
The buttons rotate, right? The old photoalbum did a better job^^
I found it to be a very annoying feature on the diamond1.
Sometimes you just want to see a pictuer from another angel, and the autorotation made that impossible.

Yes. The Exif information of the pictures contains generally the Focal length, shutter speed, iso, date & time, sometimes GPS coordinates (can be added later with software, and some new camera include GPS), and of course orientation of the picture : landscape or portrait. It stores even if it was 180° rotated in portrait or landscape.

Olivier.
I know you can take panoramic photo's with the camera on the phone by taking multiple photos..
But is there an app like on the Taylor swift commercial that you just sweep the camera around the room?
Not that I have seen, but why? That feature works perfectly in the camera, you don't really need an app for this.
I'm pretty sure its basically the same thing. The Samsung camera software just gives you a green box to follow and makes a camera sound when you reach it... you're still sweeping from left to right in real time.
Any way to get higher res panorama with the stock camera? The panorama is 640x480 photos stitched together.

The phone does this with the built in app. You can move the phone in a sweeping motion and it will take 8 sequential shots. This can be done in either landscape or portrait mode.
When sweeping the camera a green outline will appear in the area of the next shot to help you properly align the photo. When the outlined area is centered on the screen then the phone automatically captures the next image...wash, rinse, repeat.
I have been using this feature a lot lately since the pictures are gorgeous and it is awesome for group photos. A fun thing I like to do is have someone move along to the next shot and pose so you get a strange clone effect of one person throughout the scene.

Have you tried the action shooting mode? Does a very similar thing.
I too would like to see an app that used higher res images (640x480 really does not cut it)
I would also like to see something that could take 360 degree photos, not just moving the camera left to right but also up and down.
Well that's just the sensor setting, the final resolution will be much greater than that in one direction. Holding the phone vertically will give a nice photo. But I would like a 1080 vertical mode for my dual monitor setup and no black lines.

Yeah, but a panorama that's about 550px tall and has fairly obvious seams makes it less of a big falk that the phone stitched out all by itself. Oh well, if you want it nice you really need a camera with a proper mount, anyway, and preferably raw output, and striving on a computer...

Can someone tell me of a good program to edit photos using the spen? I have a photo in my gallery, I deleted spen and it brings up the pen. BUT, I cannot zoom in on the photo because when spen is active any screen touches are read as pen writing. I tried zooming in and then spen, but when you active spen the photo zooms back out. I'm sure there's a way to do this but it's alluding me.
Workaround for zooming and editing using s-pen

hey man, if you found a solution to your problem let me know...meanwhile all i can suggest is a workaround.
1. download quickpic from google play (need this as the default gallery app shows up the menu whenever the spen is brought near to the screen)
2 open any photo in quick pic.
3.take a screenshot of the photo in full screen mode using ur s-pen.
4.when the screenshot is automatically opened, you can edit it using the s-pen
5. to zoom in use pinch to zoom. you can still use the s-pen on the zoomed in image to annotate, draw, etc.
6. when u zoom out, whatever you have written with the s-pen will also zoom out..
7. save the screenshot.
i don't know how the resolution will change if you use a screenshot of a photo rather than the actual photo, but it seems to work well enough for me.
have fun and if you do find a solution to actually zoom in and edit photos without taking screenshots, please do reply back here.
regards,
unless I'm misunderstanding ...
1. open s-memo, create new memo
2. click the photo icon (to left of microphone icon on the toolbar)
3. click "picture" then "gallery"
4. select picture to edit
5. adjust aspect if desired using arrows then tap outside image to fix
6. use pinch & zoom to zoom into a section of the picture (if you do this smoothly there should be no mark left by your fingers, but if there is, just click "undo" to remove it before proceeding)
7. edit zoomed image with s-pen as desired
8. save or export once finished
note - above only works if you have the "s-pen only" option in the settings menu unchecked - otherwise your pinch & zoom gestures will be ignored.

Hi Guys,
in EMUI 9 it was possible to change zoom level by dragging/sliding your finger over any side of the camera screen -- i.e. not limited to the side which is showing the actual zoom control.
After flashing to EMUI 10, I can only zoom by dragging/sliding over the actual zoom control.
This is terrible because in the landscape mode, the zoom control is always displayed horizontally - and thus not reachable by with the same hand which is holding the phone (single-handed camera operation).
For me this basically kills the usability of this phone (and the upcoming P40) to the point when I'm not using it anymore as my primary. (There's always something else in my other hand, e.g. dog leashes.)
On S10+ the Camera is perfectly usable in landscape in single-handed mode (right hand).
Anyone else experiencing this? Any remedies?

Not sure if you have even read my post.
Try to pinch with the same hand that is holding the phone.

Please quit spamming thanks.
Even Oppo knows how to do it, they placed the zoom bar vertically in the landscape mode. So that it's reachable with SINGLE HAND.
