Anyone else noticed that the Diamond becomes rather sluggish when you play MP3s with WMP ? Looked at the CPU use with Battery Monitor, it seems OK.

I'm fairly new to the phone, and brand new to the s6 stereo headphones. The problem I have is that with only media player and activsync running; MP drags to a crawl. It is completely unusable. My resources shows to be around 90% used.
Without the headphones, I can play *.mp3 files with no problems.
not sure about this one, check to see if the same happens when you use htc audio manager (its what I use, media player has given me problems in general)
This is kicking my butt.
I get audio drop out with HTC audio manager and pocketplayer as well.
I've used KaiserTweak to raise the bit pool level for bluetooth. I've tried it at default. No difference.
I've also hard reset the phone three times, trying various software and settings. With HTC AM, I'm running about 40% usage.
As it stands, it is unusable. I can't make it through a complete song without drop out.
Any help would be great.

I have the s9's and do not have this problem, the longest that I have listened to something is about an hour. Do you notice this problem gets worse over time?
i too use the S9 with my Tilt with no problems. regular shipped ATT ROM no tweaks.

I have the S9 and I can tell you the problem is Media Player. It is a resource hog that has memory leaks. The app will eat up to 30MB of program memory and continue to exhibit the problems you mentioned. Use the HTC Audio Manager which will USE far less memory (around 5 to 7 MB), performs well and will not continue to eat memory like there is no tomorrow.

I guess I feel a little dumb.....
I never thought about it, but my Plantronics 665 was also paired. I finally figured it out and turned it off, problem seems to be solved.
I'll either be using AudioManager or PocketPlayer.
Hi there,
i have a strange phenomenon. When i play audiobook MP3 with the Media Player, it won't continue with the next track although it's in the playlist. Sometimes, when i wait about 1 minute, it goes to the next song, sometimes not and stays in state "playing" at the end of the track not jumping to the next.
So far so bad. When I stop the Media Player now (not terminate app, just going back to home screen) and turn off phone (standby) the battery is empty next morning and it plays no sound anymore.
Neither alarm nor mediaplayer nor anything else i try to play a sound. Only a soft reset helps.
Any ideas? Is it Windows Mobile 6.1 that is that buggy?
up - anybody has the same phenomenon or a solution?
Currently i'm searching alternative players, but mostly freeware is not really quality software
it works ok here, but I'm finding the Diamond to become very sluggish when playing MP3s in the media player, odd and annoying !
Hi!
I love the sound of the Diamond when playing Mp3, but I had this issue from the start, the sound "clips" or "pop" or whatever it is called? when listening to music.
I usually turn the screen off, so this could be some kind of energy saver thing kicking in maybe? because it only occurs one or 2 times and then it seems ok after listening for a while.
I have tried Coreplayer, Slide2Play etc, and it is all the same, random clipping in songs, and nothing is wrong with the files.
Does someone know what this could be? or how to fix it? it is driving me crazy.
Running Original 1.37 Rom SWE
Thanks in advance!
Ps. I have used the search function, but not found anyone with this issue.
EDIT: Did a long test today and it happens all the time, I don't know if "stuttering sound" is a more correct word for this, like you pause the music for a few milliseconds and then resume the song.
Have noone had this on their Diamond? I hope the processor power is enough to play mp3 songs eh?
My diamond does not play any sound when starting the Touchflo 3D movie that automatically playes after flashing with new ROM or hardreset.
'Though issue is not significant (as it happens only once after reflashing), I really need to know why it's happening
Why is this?
it doesn't seem to use too much CPU or memory (using coreplayer). as soon as i pause the music, diamond is lag free. as soon as i resume, its a lag fest.
is there a tweak for this somewhere? I did spend some time searching and browsing for an answer, but i dont have all day
it's absolutely normal that your diamond lags out, mine does that too. However core player is a heavy program just to listen to music, try using HTC Audio Player wich is lighter
