Diamond Music Player: music off when screen switch off - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hello All!
I would like to find a solution for a HTC Diamond Music Player problem.
When I play music with this media player and the screen switch off, the player stop too!
I have found a solution for coreplayer but I prefer HTC Diamond Music Player because it's on the homescreen...
THX for answers!

try this: http://freewareppc.com/utilities/screenswitch.shtml
allows you to switch off the screen while listening to your music

THX a lot enfant_terrible1979 !
Solved!

Do you know whether there is a tweak so that no third party application is required?
I found that the problem only ocurrs when I use the built-in speaker to play music.

i dun think so. nver thought of that.
the fm radio works with the screen switched off manually though.
in any case, the app is pretty small in mem so not much of an issue

That's weird.
I play my music through the diamond media player ALL the time with my screen switched off.
What ROM you guys running?
I'm running Elite 3.0 and use the RC E100 for headphones. But seriously I've never had this problem even before this ROM. I've been doing that since the start.

try locking the device when playing music (press the hang up button a couple sec)
the device will lock and eventually turn of the screen while the musics keeps playing

I have been quite happily switching the screen off with the power button when listening to music but suddenly it refuses to switch off until music is stopped. Does anyone know of a registry fix for this perhaps?

Media Player breaks sound / battery

Hi there,
i have a strange phenomenon. When i play audiobook MP3 with the Media Player, it won't continue with the next track although it's in the playlist. Sometimes, when i wait about 1 minute, it goes to the next song, sometimes not and stays in state "playing" at the end of the track not jumping to the next.
So far so bad. When I stop the Media Player now (not terminate app, just going back to home screen) and turn off phone (standby) the battery is empty next morning and it plays no sound anymore.
Neither alarm nor mediaplayer nor anything else i try to play a sound. Only a soft reset helps.
Any ideas? Is it Windows Mobile 6.1 that is that buggy?
up - anybody has the same phenomenon or a solution?
Currently i'm searching alternative players, but mostly freeware is not really quality software
it works ok here, but I'm finding the Diamond to become very sluggish when playing MP3s in the media player, odd and annoying !

Music Stops when power button pressed?

Anyone have any info on this?
My old Orbit2 used to continue to play music through HTC Audio Player as well as Windows Media Player however now if I tap the power button to put device into sleep mode the music pauses.
Anyone have any suggestions/fixes for this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Not sure of Orbit as I do not own one.
But all the WinMo device I have are behaving the way you describe in TD2.
There is apps inside or 3rd party which you can just switch the display off (not the power off), So the device is not off but the display off can save you a lot of battery.
Yeah, I got an app touchlock pro that turns the display off.
Just a bit annoying that I had the problem on the orbit 1, was fixed on the orbit 2 and now the problem is back on the topaz.
Still its a minor thing I suppose - Rest of the functionality seems great so far
Just a little update on this if anyone was interested.
Upon further experimentation I have discovered that i using my bluetooth headset for music playback i can now lock the phone by holding down the end call key and then press the power button to turn the display off whilst maintaing music playback.
Not sure if this works when using a wired headset but it did not seem to work just playing out of the speaker minus the headset.
My D2 continues to play music with the screen off using both coreplayer and windows media player.
EDIT: I thought I would double check - strange, today it stops the music! I know for a fact the other night I was listening to music and the screen was (almost) definitely off. I will investigate further.
EDIT2: I thought further and I know it was playing music with the screen off. I know this because I was happy that the volume buttons still worked.
I just did some checking.
When the headphones are plugged in the music continues playing when you turn off the screen and the volume buttons continue to adjust the volume.
Without the headphones plugged in the music stops when you turn off the screen.
Thanks for that, not actually used the wired headset before but what you have said is correct. it is a shame the same method for bluetooth stereo wasnt implemented or perhaps its just my bluetooth headset. looks like might have to get the wired headset out for a bit.
Hey, is there a way to skip songs with the headset we got?
i never noticed this until today.... how annoying, i just finished loading up my new microSD.
If anyone has a fix for this, please post
Thanks!
Mine appears to be fixed now when using my bluetooth headset or the wired headset But still stops if playing through the phone speaker.
I use a Jabra BT8010 bluetooth headset, and the music continues to play after pressing the power button. The music is shut off if playing through the phones speaker....this is the same as my previous phone (htc TYTN II)

[Q] Music Player Starts Unexpextedly...Anyone else having this problem?

Greetings everyone!
I recently purchased a Samsung i9000m with Bell Canada. Thankfully I have not had any major problems with the phone, but there is one large annoyance I have discovered: Whenever the headphones are plugged in, pressing the button on the headphones cord starts the Music Player app. Additionally, removing the headphones also starts the Music Player app. Has anyone else experienced this behaviour from their phone? Is there a way to stop this irritating "feature"?
My phone is currently all stock/not rooted, except that I recently upgraded the firmware to JH2 (this behaviour also existed on the previous firmware).
Many thanks in advance,
Matt
The first feature is intentional. ( Why else would you press the button again? )
I don't get the second. ( It does pause when I pull it out, and it starts playing if I have that setting on, when I put it in. )
Thanks for the reply.
I'm not sure I was clear. Anytime the music player isn't running (i.e. after turning on the device), unplugging the headphones will load the music player. Similarly, pressing the button on the headphones (i.e. to answer an incoming call while I'm driving my car) will also start the music player!
Basically I want the music player to only load when I choose it from the apps page or home screen...I almost liken it to a weird version of "autoplay" from windows computers...I wish there was a way to turn it off with a simple check-box!
Can confirm that unplugging any cable from the headphone plug will open the music player app.

Click to collapse
Well that makes two of us....I guess that means I'm not imagining things!
Doesn´t open Musicplayer when plug out the headsetcable on my SGS. Maybe you have any other music player widget or app installed?
I saw that also. Better yet, even killing the app with autokiller, adter a few seconds... there she was again playing.
I was in transit that tine and could not investigate the problem. Didn't use musicplayer much lately so don't know if the problem still exists.
For me the trigger was the headset button. Click that sucker and you have an annyoing Musicplayer that returns from the deads.
yeah very annoying. i was just testing the tv out and it still starts it when unplugging the cable.
Just a FYI.
You'll get the same effect when using a Bluetooth Stereo headset
1 tap to wake up the phone
2 tap to launch the music player
double fast tap to skip to the next song
1 tap long hold to call last number dialed
... and there are more tricks, but that's usually what i do

[Q] Background noice when playing music

I have noticed some background noice when I play audio files in the music player.
I know from this thread that other people have the same problem but I have not been able to find a seperat thread that cover this.
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=735918
The problem is easy to hear if you play music through the build in loudspeaker and then turn the volume to 0 while the music is playing. I have notice that when I pause the music the noice will continue for about 2 sec followed by a "click" and then the background noice will disapear (probaly because the device is going to some powersaving mode).
The problem remains with all the headsets I have tryed and are pressent on firmware jm7 and jm8.
Anyone noticed the same problem and more important do anyone have a solution to this problem?
unable to reproduce
i do play music from the building speaker quite a bit, as i keep testing music for my alerts anc custom alerts for each contact
Hi there,
I had this problem also... was playing with the TV out. Once I turned this off the problem disappeared. Have you tried the standard issue headphones... this might also be part of it, Samsung is using a different pin setup
that makes more sense go into settings and make sure the TV Out option is disabled, if you leave it on, it can interfere with the audio output
i recall this being discussed on another topic a while back
try unplugging the usb cable if it's connected...

[Q] Music stops playing while using GPS-software

Hi!
Has anyone else had this strange phenomena with Galaxy S and GPS? Randomly the music player stops playing music while I'm training and using Runkeeper with heavy GPS usage. Same thing has happened with three different players, PowerAMP, Winamp and stock player. Player just pauses the music being played. Sometimes it happens several times during my workout, sometimes maybe once.
Any help appreciated thanks!
This happens to me constantly. Doesn't matter which player I use the music stops once I hit the home screen button.
I'm running the bell froyo jk3 rom.
This also happens a lot to me no matter what music app I use. I generally listen to music in the car with the phone in my pocket so I'm not sure if particular gps software is being used while I'm moving, even if I'm not using Maps or Navigation.
