Does anyone have a list of the codes for all the qwerty keys? Want to be able to change up/down behavior.
TIA
Keymapping in Pocket IE
Bump as I'm interested in this as well.
Did some digging and this is the answer:
http://www.modaco.com/Browsing-Web-MS-Smartph-t256872.html among others (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=259884&highlight=keycode.exe, etc.)
To summerize:
The values available are:
1 - Page Up
2 - Page Down
3 - Top
4 - Bottom
5 - Horizontal Page Up
6 - Horizontal Page Down
7 - Horizontal Top
8 - Horizontal Down
9 - Default Layout
10 - Desktop Layout
11 - One Column Layout
12 - Full Screen Toggle
13 - Show Pictures Toggle
==========================
To determine what is the code for the key to which you want to apply these values, use the keycode.exe from the following tool set:
http://xetranet.free.fr/xbar2/download/tools.zip
so for example:
I want 'U' to page up:
U = 85
page up = 1
result: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Keymaps]
"85"=dword:00000001
Cheers!
Someone tried to use some of the special hardware keyboardbuttons in the lower left corner of the keyboard to copy / paste ?
Can one of the keys used as a STRG key in combination with C and V when entering text ?
Greets !
bump
Im interested in this as well, anyone have any ideas?
this is windows, use ctrl+c and ctrl+v
you can set the key to open a context menu, then choose cut/copy/paste
this is windows, use ctrl+c and ctrl+v
Click to collapse
That is the point, how do we get a "ctrl"-key assigned? The "strg"-key fotoingo mentioned is the German "ctrl"-key. Any suggestions?
i dont think CTRL + C works?

on the onscreen qwerty works perfect.
Yes, CTRL+C/V/X works with hardware keyboard. All you need is a software to map some of the key on your HW keyboard to CTRL function. I would recommend X1BC (use search on this forum)
Is it possible to set the Fn key + C / V / X to copy / paste / cut?
with AE Button plus you can set it up. eg you can map that weird au button so that single click = cut, double click = copy, and triple click = paste. Lots of other ways you can do it too, using other keys on the hard keyboard.

That's exactly how I use it, works great!
Also would the original poster care to take this solution and edit his first post with it. It's harder for others to scroll than to edit your first post.
Thanks
X1BC will help you, i tested it and worked fine!
Software url:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468007&highlight=X1BC
Step:
1. Install X1BC
2. Change the registry:
"LongKeyTimeout" = 2000
"TabCtrlMode" = 2
3. Put X1BC.lnk into the startup folder, restart your X1
Tab + A (Select All)
Tab + Z (Undo)
Tab + X (Cut)
Tab + C (Copy)
Tab + V (Paste)
-------------------------
HKCU\SOFTWARE\JKing\X1BC\TabCtrlMode
Here are the possible choices:
0 - Do not use as ctrl
1 - Short press mode (short press to enable ctrl then press a letter; long press sends tab chr)
2 - Long press mode (press letter while holding ctrl; short press sends tab chr)
Is'nt it easier to use the natural keyboard and use <shift> & the cursor keys to select your text that you want to cut/copy, then use the on-screen keyboard to select <ctrl> & c (copy), x (cut) or p (paste)?
hey all, how do i activate the 2 letter per button keypad for my diamond 2?
as per this foto: (top left image)

if its installed on your device open your sip and click on the small arrow beneath the keyboard icon on the bottom of the screen. there you can choose the differnet input methods
i thought it came on the stock rom? did htc remove it for the diamond 2?
i have no option for it on my phone at the moment. (i have not dowloaded that application)
Search and you shall find!!

Hi there,
I have a rooted G.N., ROM=KKA, Android 2.3.6
I can connect a bluetooth AZERTY Keyboard/mouse to the G.N., it works, but as a QWERTY one.
Using some tweaking application like "Upsoft Keyboard", I can switch it to an AZERTY one, but uncomplete : missing Function keys, accents and so on.
After some googling, I found the stuff to build my own keyboard file (.kl and .kcm.bin).
The process involves editing a key character map file (i.e xxxx.kcm), then compiling it to get a 'xxxx.kcm.bin'
Each line of the kcm file is identified by a 'keyname' and describes what will be returned for each hit on that key, depending on the modifiers (alt, altgr, shift, ctrl, or nothing)
The problem is :
1) the kcm file's format is old ( < android v3), and will stay as is until ICS being released for G.N.
2) the old format compiler has a very poor and restricted set of keynames : Function keys (F1, F2, ...), and Numeric pad keys are omitted.
The problem should be the same for USB keyboards.
Any guru having tweaked a kcm compiler (linux kcm, or W$ kcm.exe) including those keys ?
Could someone help me with the below 2 modules please?
Module 1 -
1 - Hardware key (volume or power button ) used to launch a particular app
2 - Once app is launched - Lock the app with an overlay with a particular dimension (for example - overlay blocks the app completely except 20 % at the bottom)
3 - Volume button press simulates screen press at a particular co-ordinate
Module 2 -
part 1 - Shortcut to make direct Whatsapp call to a particular contact
part 2 - Receiver mobile answers the Whatsapp call and places on speakerphone automatically
This will help me stay connected with my aged parents.
Kindly help !!
Mod 1
Profile: Event/Vol long button up/down, then launch the app
Task: Scene; draw your box how you want. You may need/want to lock portrait mode.
Task: Use Auto input to simulate your screen press. You can use the option to view touches from within the phone Settings/Dev Mode
